I came here for a sweet treat after a dinner and the ice cream cro boong I had here was pretty good! I ordered the vanilla ice cream cro boong per the server's recommendation. The ice cream was sweet and creamy, but it was a bit hard which made the dessert a bit difficult to eat. It did pair well with the croissant taiyaki which was flaky and nicely glazed. It was crispy and chewy. It was also slightly warmed before the ice cream was inserted which was a nice contrast. I love a la mode desserts, so this was right up my alley! Overall, the dessert was good and the portion size was good for sharing despite it being a little difficult to eat. The interior was small, but cute. I liked the picnic table vibes. There was even some board games that you can play with while you enjoy your dessert. The service was great and the server helping me was super nice. My friend was feeling a bit sick which the server noticed. She even offered a plastic bag which was thoughtful of her. There's also free parking in front, but I'm not sure if it's 100% free because there was valet present. However, I was able to self-park for free when I visited on a Friday night. Overall, a solid spot for dessert in Ktown! They also offer coffee drinks which I would like to try next time.

Got to try this spot out sometime last week. It was pretty good! I got a banana matcha and a pistachio cro ice boong. It's a cute little spot. They also have board games to play with if you're gonna dine in!

My partner and I stopped in for a sweet treat after grabbing dinner nearby. We got the strawberry cream and the pecan praline croobong. Both items were tasty, though I wish the pecan praline was a bit warmer. Overall, this is a solid dessert stop in the area, and somewhere we will likely return.

Cute and quiet dessert shop! Shared the 붕어빵 fish pastry with pecan ice cream with a friend, and it was a nice sweet treat! Inferior was so pretty with the sun shining into the cafe.

Yummy hybrid Taiyaki w croissant and waffle like cake cookie. You can get plain or filled. Plain sugar is $4 and filled w custard is $5. Comes out nice and warm.

on the sweeter side if you like that :) the waffle is very crispy very good for a sweet treat friendly service and attentive the store is tucked away a little bit and the parking is tight but i am sure you'll probably find parking (i took an uber here). the store is very bright and clean

Maybe it's because we came right before they closed, but this wasn't enjoyable at all. My guy and I got Strawberry Cream Cro-Boong and it tasted old and was extremely sweet. I felt like I had a mouthful of straight sugar. Absolutely not worth it.

We were fortunate enough to get some local street parking since this parking lot was valet only. UNfortunately, this dessert was a HUGE miss for us. The fish were all premade and sitting in a heater. Once the cream was added, everything was just a huge mushy mess. No crunch, no crisp, just a chewy mess. It definitely has potential since the cream was light and fluffy on its own. The croissant fish just needed to made to order. My 10 yo son took one bite and didn't want it. My 12 yo daughter said she also didn't like it and threw it out.

$5-6 for a cream filled croissant taiyaki I loveeee croffles, but sadly this one is not for me :( The stellar reviews made me super curious, but alas outer crust too thick and not flakey glaze on the outside sticks to my teeth and is quite sweet. Inside is quite dense and not flakey or soft/tender The coffee cream was good and plentiful, but felt like nothing I couldn't make at home.

Cozy Korean-Inspired Dessert Café - A Hidden Gem! If you're looking for a place that feels like a warm hug in dessert form, this Korean-style café is it! The atmosphere is soft, healing, and cozy--perfect for a slow afternoon or catching up with friends. 1 Cro-Boong (Korean Taiyaki) Their taiyaki is next-level--crispy on the outside, warm and creamy on the inside. We went with the custard filling and added espresso, banana, and strawberry cream. Yes, it's definitely an indulgence, but it's absolutely worth it. The balance of textures and flavors was perfect. 2 Croffle (Croissant + Waffle) A fresh-made Korean croffle that's crispy, buttery, and soft in the middle. You can customize it with a variety of toppings--fun and delicious! 3 Dalgona Latte If you're a latte lover like me, don't miss this. The whipped coffee foam on top gives a lovely contrast to the creamy milk, and the dalgona candy bits add that perfect sweet crunch. 4 Vienna Einspanner Highly recommend this one--rich espresso meets silky milk with a layer of whipped cream. Bitter, smooth, and slightly sweet--it's beautifully balanced. 5 Yuzu Ade Refreshing and zesty! The yuzu base mixed with lemon soda makes for the perfect palate cleanser after sweets. Great pairing with everything on the menu

Delicious. I absolutely loved the pecan praline ice cream with the croboong! My friend and I went when it wasn't busy, so we were able to get our orders quite fast. Most of the taiyaki I've had in the past were too soft, but this one had a great little crunch on the outside! Very good crisp, and that's something I really appreciate about it :) The pecan praline was so good; I thought about asking just to get the ice cream to have more at the end hahah. This was a great dessert place to go to after dinner; so glad that I got to try it. The place itself was interesting. There were small tables and mini games available, which was nice. The kitchen area was quite open, and there were several random items there, but that's about it. I'll definitely come back :D Probably one of my favorite dessert places in KTown.

    Banana cream filled cro-boon
    Tati V.

I've been meaning to stop by for some time now and glad I did. The cream filled cro-boon was delicious! I just wish that utensils were placed somewhere accessible especially if the cashier isn't going to stay at the front. I understand that if you don't have customers and you're busy in the back you may not be able to stay at the front at all times but it also looks bad on the business if you walk in and no one's there or if you have to get up to ask for a fork-it should have been given with the dessert if we're the only customers inside.

I love this place, if you're in the mood for a sweet treat without breaking the bank this is your spot!

Parking here may be difficult to find on the street, but they do have valet, too. On a Saturday afternoon, this spot is packed and quite hard to find a place to sit. Wi-Fi is available, though note that plugs and seating may be another issue. Not every spot comes with a plug, and it's going to be full, so you may need to wait 15-20 minutes. It is indeed a small spot, so if you're looking for a quiet spot to work, this might not be it. The interior decor, though, is quite clean aesthetically and is relaxing to work in. The Matcha Latte, though, let me say if you're in need of an afternoon pick-me-up, this will keep you energized, even without the sugar! A few sips in and a half cup later, I had so much energy I could probably run a marathon if I had the right shoes (and I don't even like running).

The café is located within an apartment complex and offers underground parking, which the coffee shop validates the first hour is only $3. Street parking is also available. You follow the café signs to an elevator, and once you arrive, you're welcomed into a moody, beautiful space. DOGS ARE ALLOWED which is awesome. There's plenty of seating both indoors and outdoors. The outdoor area feels like a balcony terrace combo with a small but lovely view of the LA skyline. We sat here and our doggo enjoyed a nap in the sun. It's a great spot to work, study, or catch up with friends without feeling cramped or rushed. The staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and friendly. They offer a nice variety of drinks, and we ordered an iced matcha latte and a hot Madagascar vanilla latte. For pastries, we chose a guava madeleine and a cookie butter madeleine. Everything is made fresh, and they actually whisk the matcha for each drink, which really shows in the quality. Our drinks came out quickly and were delicious. I loved my matcha, and my husband really enjoyed his latte. The pastries were also great, especially the cookie butter madeleine. This café is dog-friendly, which is a nice bonus. Overall, it was such a pleasant experience, and we'll definitely be back.

Integrated within the city itself, but designed and curated to still be apart from it, Archives of Us feels like a space perfect for studying, working, and just vibing if you have the time and you're a local while as a tourist or passerby it's a neat stop by as you continue on your itinerary. Design - Private but Open Located just on the boundary of Chinatown and inside the new shopping plaza under new apartments, Archives of Us has its own separate entrance utilizing an elevator to get you to the second floor. This simple detachment allows Archives of Us to have a private space in such a public location. The interior has exposed concrete, ventilation ducts, and wiring to give the industrial design that's currently popular whilst integrating soft tones of wood, stones, and simple plants in the same space. It makes the interior feel less brutalist by incorporating nature where it can. In juxtaposition, the exterior is a large balcony space with planters of leafy plants on the perimeter to provide semi-private screening as you look out into the city. Though you're close enough to people's apartments where you can snoop on what they have on their balconies it provides enough privacy where they can't look at the TikTok's you're watching. Drinks - Matcha & Espresso Archives of Us has a reputation for its matcha. Like so many places these days they proudly utilize ceremonial matcha for their drinks (although ceremonial grade doesn't mean it's good for lattes but that's a whole different story for a different time). They also do Einspänners, cream lattes, and more traditional drinks like flat whites. All these come in one size, ensuring a consistent taste for each drink. Although I did enjoy the banana tiramisu cream latte I had I don't know if paying an average of $7.50-$9.00 is worth the price. The quality of the ingredients can be tasted so it's up to you to decide if that price is worth paying. Food - High Quality for Simple Design Following the same rhetoric as the drinks, the food they serve here aren't complicated but they do have a high standard to their ingredients. The Wagyu Egg Sliders is executed well with toasted Hawaiian rolls, perfectly cooked Wagyu beef patties, and a hand chopped egg salad between them all. The egg salad part especially feels like the same type of flavor you would get if you got an egg sando in Japan. The ingredients taste great and as a simple recipe it is executed well. However, for the price of $17 you might be looking for more than "simple done perfectly". If you're looking for a kick or accent to their food you'll have to look for outside sources. I recommend asking them for condiments like their salsa they use for their breakfast burritos. Their breakfast burrito also falls under the same umbrella of well executed with simple ingredients. I especially loved how fluffy the eggs were and the ratio of potato to all the ingredients was fantastic. Final Thought Archives of Us can be seen as a hip location you have to try because of all the buzz and hype you've heard of or it can be seen as a place to make your own if you're a local of the area. It can be considered both overly hyped and a well loved secret. Whatever perspective you see it as what is unarguable is Archives of Us is quintessentially LA and you can love it or hate it for it. Try it for yourself to see where you stand.
