Knowing that the vibe is always great there, I was looking forward to watching the game there with friends. On the day of the game, I got the following message: Due to the high demand of the Mexico vs Korea game, we are limiting our earlier reservations to a duration of two hours in order for us to accommodate our later reservations. I came here for a lunch date and was pleasantly surprised by the food. I wish I found this place sooner. The ambiance felt pretty social, not necessarily romantic, but chill. The service was great, and I think either the owner or lead manager attended to us. Great recommendations, and very patient with me (I had many questions about the menu). I ended up getting a fish plate as well as a full meat plate. I don't remember the names of the dishes, but they were AMAZING! The meat plate was particularly delicious. Went here with a friend on a Friday night and parking was chaotic in the lot, but we felt lucky to get a spot! We were seated right away at Escala, but it took a while for the servers to take our order and then it took a really long time to get our food. I had ordered the Bandeja K-Town, a Colombian platter with Korean BBQ Short Ribs. The short ribs themselves were super dry and inedible. I was never given the choice between the kimchi and the salad. Immediately greeted by the bar manager Leo who was not only juggling around 16 hats from confirming food was out on time , people seated and greeted immediately, to making sure your drink was nothing less than delicious! The food and drinks are fantastic ! Unfortunately a few of the servers customer service is less than par. Took 20 minutes to get our drinks. 2 tequila sodas. There's were less then 5 tables occupied on a Sunday evening. When our food came out, the delicious empanadas that two of us were splitting, it was another 30 minutes to get small plates and napkins. The other appetizer, Colombian wings (which we come back for so often!) came out late, we had to wave down our server for a second round of drinks. He was sitting down and watching tv the whole time. Had a few items but I'll just talk to you about our favorites: Yucca fries and the beef empanadas. I highly recommend just getting those two and going ham on them. My friends love the food here, so we met them for dinner on Saturday at 6:30. Great thing is they still offer the happy menu on a Saturday until 7pm. Bad thing, no street parking anywhere so $20 for parking. They say the menu is Colombian-Korean fusion but other than some bland kimchi empanadas, there wasn't a lot of Korean influence on the menu. I heard the kimchi fried rice is good (but we didn't get it). We were greeted so warmly, into a VERY loud, lively place. I went on a Saturday night and it was a lively atmosphere with a live DJ. I love the decorations and art inside. It is a bit loud tho, and I had trouble talking and hearing. Server was friendly but service is slow and you might have to wait a while to get your food, despite the restaurant not being that busy. It's also hard to get your server's attention and get your check. They also gave us chicken empanadas when we ordered beef. We didn't bother telling them though to avoid another long wait. The Mac n Cheese was good. The pico de gallo and their "homemade" frito chips was a yummy addition and I really like the crunchy texture the chips add. However, both times I've ordered this dish, it has come out lukewarm (not sure if it's because the cold pico de gallo cools down the Mac n cheese) but it made the dish taste a bit off. The noodles were also overcooked. The Bandeja K Town platter seems a bit pricey ($29) compared to the amount of meat you actually get. This dish wasn't fully hot either temperature wise. The empanadas were great and came out steaming hot with yummy green salsa and a kimchi aioli sauce. The chicken empanadas that we got on accident tasted a bit too chicken-y (if you know what I mean lol) but the beef and kimchi fried rice empanadas were amazing. Parking here (especially on weekends) is a disaster. The $20 valet is usually filled up during weekend dinner times. And street parking is extremely hard to find. A hidden gem! I was so surprised to find such a wonderful Colombian restaurant in Korea town. My friend and I stopped by on a Friday afternoon and had a lovey experience. All the doors and windows were open due to the lovey weather and we were able to easy snag a table by a window. Happy hour had a nice selections of appetizers and alcohol and a reasonable price. I ordered a traditional chicken tamale and a skinny margarita and she ordered the plantain chips and a regular margarita. Everything came out in good time and was excellent. I've been here many times with friends for drinks and once for just food. I like the layout of this bar and the general theme of it. Being situated in Koreatown its something a bit different from what's in the surrounding area. Drinks are good and food is good! Service can be a bit better. Late night Colombian bar in ktown. The drinks were super sad how is this an old fashion? We received it and started laughing. The drink was sent back. My pamola was ok taste like those sugary bottled juices from the store. Got this free bread which tasted like dense pancake balls. The bandeja platter was fun to get a variety of Colombian culture my favorite was the sausage and fried banana chips. Some of the fried items were a bit on the oily side and the ribs were not worth getting (taste like store bought jarred sauce). The service was okay but an hour before closing they were already cleaning up and stacking chairs while there were many customers still in the bar. We just ordered a bunch of tapas cocktails and got our grub on and listened to great music. They have a DJ spinning and playing the jams.
