This was my first visit to this restaurant after seeing it featured in a YouTube video. Unfortunately, what I hoped would be a great dining experience turned out to be quite disappointing. From the moment I placed my order, the experience felt unwelcoming. The gentleman (stocky-Asian like, wearing a mask) who took my order was neither particularly friendly nor helpful, which wasn't a great first impression. Things became even more frustrating when my family and I sat at an empty table while waiting for our food. We had been seated for approximately five minutes when an employee approached us and stated, "This table is for the people who came before you." Not wanting to create an uncomfortable situation, and seeing the other family standing with their plates in hand, we politely got up and gave them the table, but I was thinking this pace needs a better process. I did mention to the employee that if the restaurant has a specific seating policy, there should be a host or someone clearly managing the seating arrangements to avoid confusion. To put things into perspective, the restaurant has a very casual, fast-food-style atmosphere, similar to El Pollo Loco. It's the type of establishment where customers would naturally assume they can sit at any available table. There was nothing to indicate otherwise. Overall lack of hospitality, communication, and customer service. A little friendliness and professionalism can go a long way, especially when welcoming first-time customers. Unfortunately, I left with a bad impression rather than a memorable dining experience. Based on the service and atmosphere alone, I would not recommend this restaurant to others. The food here is actually great, but the customer service is some of the worst I've experienced. It honestly feels like the employees don't want customers coming in and bothering them. I'm not sure how involved the owner is with the staff, but they should know that the way customers are treated is hurting the business. This wasn't just a one-time bad experience either. I've dealt with rude service here more than once. The last time I went in, I was the only customer there and was told it would be a 55-minute wait for half a chicken. When I questioned the wait, the woman working there said to me in Spanish, "¿Pa' qué viniste pues, si no quieres esperar?" Basically, "Why did you come then if you don't want to wait?" This was my first time here from Las Vegas and let me tell you the food here was amazing. I had the half chicken with side salad which included beets, which I love. And also a side of rice. Also ordered an Horchata. The service was fast and efficient. The lady at the counter was friendly and kept the linE moving and had a good system going. The chicken was flavorful and moist, with excellent dark and white meat, and the portion size was very good. I wasn't sure what to order as a side, but the recommendation was fries and salad. I switched to rice and beans, and I'm so glad I did! The sides were both pretty good. I especially loved that the beans came in a separate container and had bits of meat inside. The rice was also nice, with a medley of corn, carrots, and peas. The biggest surprise was the salad. I'd heard people on Yelp recommend it, but it's not common to find a salad at a chicken joint, especially one with avocado, beets, and a slice of fresh, crisp apple. The tomatoes were very juicy, and I'd pay for this salad on its own. The orange dressing is the icing on the cake; it's so good! I appreciate that they provide a bottle of aji sauce when dining in. I also asked for extra orange and green sauces to go with my leftover chicken, and they were happy to accommodate. Don't order the fries! They lacked salt and seasoning and tasted like they were drenched in oil. I'm thankful I didn't order them a la carte because I threw most of them away. They gave other people their orders that came after us and when I went to go ask them they had the audacity to be rude and say my order would come after others' orders. Orders that were made AFTER mines. The ambiance is noisy since it's a small restaurant but that's expected. The food came out with streaks of blood. If you're ordering to go, beware. The owner "overlooks" the workers but still what you eat is left with blood. Their fire is on too high but doesn't cook the chicken inside properly. I used to live near Pollo A La Brasa, but finally got to try recently. I always see customers going in and out (and a HUGE line during holidays), but I finally committed to coming here on Friday night. First, the parking is really limited, but there is some spots outside (very hard to get in and out of if you have a bigger car) and some limited street parking (also pretty hard to find if you go during peak times). I would recommend either going during non peak times or bringing someone else along. The restaurant is pretty small inside and there is limited seating. I think it is more of a pick up and go kind of place. I decided on a whole chicken and fries. Since I came close to closing, they said it would be about a 20 minute wait, which was OK with me. There are plenty of stores next block over that I wandered around in. I did do a take out since they were closing. The chicken was very good and juicy. I really enjoyed the flavors. I was not a huge fan of the green sauce, but it gave a good kick to the chicken. Also, they gave me rice instead of fries, which sucked because I was really looking forward to the fries. This place used to be a regular for me, but after tonight, I'm done. I called ahead fully expecting a long wait -- 1.5 hours was fine, I planned dinner around it and had no problem waiting from home. After 10 minutes of repeatedly phoning, someone finally picked up and confirmed the wait. No issue. The problem started when I tried to order -- I was ready to spend almost $75+. I asked for all white meat on my first 1/2 chicken plate. The person on the phone snapped, "No ma'am, we can't do all white." When I asked why, given that I was willing to wait and pay for it, they just repeated, "I'm NOT going to give you all white." Wow. I've been a loyal customer here. I've tipped the staff, stayed patient through long waits, and treated everyone kindly. The dismissive attitude tonight completely turned me off. The chicken is tender and falls off the bone with amazing seasoning that gets fired in the big rotisserie oven. It is quite warm inside because of the chicken being cooked to order. We ordered half a chicken and the rib eye. The rib eye was nicely cooked and not tough. It is quite hard to cut with a plastic knife tho. The aji Verde was ok this spot imo (In my opinion) cannot compare to "El dorado Pollos a La Brasa" in Pasadena now that spot has the flavor and mesquite on the chicken done right.
