    Original and Honey Garlic KFC
    Tristan J.

First time customers and ordered their original and honey garlic fried chicken for lunch. Place is clean and service was quick. The guy who helped us was friendly and attentive. Their fried chicken is moist, tender and flavorful.

When I think about rice chicken, I think about chicken on top of rice. I don't wanna eat that! But my friend influenced me to come here with him, so I did and I was pleasantly surprised. First, we got a chicken sandwich with their signature sauce. It was only $8.99!!! And it was SOOO good. I would come back just for that. Then we got some chicken wings. 10 of them. They only let you choose one flavor which kinda sucks but whatever. We got yangmani or something as a flavor and I don't know why I never heard of that flavor before, but I personally don't like it because it has ketchup in it and I don't like ketchup. My friend absolutely loved the flavor though! Regardless, the chicken was cooked perfectly and was really what you would want in a chicken wing. I'll try another flavor I'll probably like, such as their soy garlic or something, but my friend wanted to try this flavor so we did. If it had no sauce or a garlic soy, I think I would've really enjoyed it a lot. Then we got a tornado potato, which tasted exactly like what it is. After eating, I looked on the wall at their LA Times article they had up. They had the woman who carried on Jonathan Gold's legacy, Jenn Harris, writing about how amazing their chicken is! It really is amazing. I trust Jenn's food recommendations. And I tasted that chicken sandwich. So I know this is the spot to go to. Surprisingly, it's kinda empty in there. I would say it's because a lot of people might think that they would be eating chicken on top of rice, so hopefully this review changes that perception. The service, you gotta ask for help, but it's fine because no one's in there. It's not like they gotta dedicated waiter to help you. I think it's fully owner operated and looks like they could use a boost in business. Also the place is much bigger and has a nicer ambiance than what it looks like outside. Definitely worth checking out!

Chicken teriyaki bowl was delicious and service was excellent! I recommend this place

I've been on the search for the best Korean chicken wings since my fav place has gone down in quality. Thankfully there's Rice Chicken for me to enjoy Amazing crispy wings again!! Pro move: don't forget to get at least two flavors of wings AND pair them w either a beer or an order of radishes to get a perfect balance of flavors!

Delicious mild honey garlic savory wings, great service and helpful. Great ambiance to dine in and have yummy food and drinks. Amazing Korean food and healthy options.

Cool gluten free concept that unfortunately can't compare to other top KFC in ktown. I consider myself a kfc lover, having tried many shops in both ktown and Korea. Rice Chicken was disappointing on several fronts. The breading was way too thick; more hard and crunchy than light and crispy. It took great jaw effort to chew through every bite. The chicken inside wasn't juicy and the sauce (yang nyum) was just plain boring. The radish was an extra charge, which is fine, but the portion was teensy tiny. It was only enough for a few bites and I had ordered a large! To top it off, the bathroom was unavailable as well. Service was fine but the food was not. With so many other options in the area, I'd recommend looking elsewhere to satisfy your KFC cravings.

I placed an order for pickup, and it was ready within 15 minutes. They even called to let me know the food was ready, which was a nice touch. Parking can be a bit tight, but if you're just picking up, they allow you to double-park while you grab your food. The man behind the counter (possibly the owner) was super friendly and even let me take a few photos before leaving. The dining area is quiet big with a TV for watching your favorite sports. The sandwich was good, but the tornado potato really stood out. I'd definitely come back to try more from their menu.

    Beef Bulgogi cup bap.
    Angelique A.

Nice service, fair prices, and pretty good food. I got the bulgolgi cup bap which comes with bulgolgi beef, one dumpling, and kimchi and also one tornado potato. The potion of bulgolgi beef is pretty generous and the tornado potato was very crispy and non-oily which I liked. I got the potato with cheese dust, but I think the honey butter one makes more sense. Overall, a nice spot to visit for a quick and fresh lunch. I think the bulgolgi bowl is just good, but I'd love to try the fried chicken another time (which makes more sense as this is a chicken spot).

Crowing Rooster Wings & Cabbage Salad
    Erin K.

I ordered the cabbage salad and the Crowing Rooster (yangnyeom) spicy chicken wings with rice. 10 wings were around ~$20, and it was so worth it because the food was so good. The owner brought out the cabbage salad first, and it was refreshing and cold - I personally always need a refreshing side with chicken so this was perfect for me. Our chicken came out in ~15 minutes, and it was amazing. The food was HOT AND FRESH and very crispy on the outside. We literally ate everything so fast because it was that good. The spice isn't overpowering at all but still has a nice kick! If you can't handle spice well, you'll probably still be able to enjoy this. Also, love the fact that they provide gloves so it's not messy. The owner is incredibly sweet and hardworking, and he makes sure you enjoy the food. Overall, such a good and delicious experience :-).

The service was amazing. Our server was so sweet and attentive. The food was so yummy! The ambiance was very relaxed when we were there. We got the garlic honey fried chicken, fries, banana milk and sotteok sotteok.

This little shop is in the same shopping center as a very popular cafe so you need to valet if you want to eat here but pro tip: you can double park if you do a takeout order. Pro pro tip: it's better when it's eaten immediately! Super mega pro tip: don't skip the raddish. If you're a potato person their spiral fried garlic potato is also delish! Service is what you'd expect for high quality chicken like this- it may take a bit longer to prepare but I'm pretty sure that's because they're making it fresh!

    Sydney L.

Rice chicken is top tier of Korean fried chickens in ktown. The service was spectacular; the owner treated us with so much kindness and such a sweet smile. We appreciated everything about his customer service. The ambiance is clean, cozy, and cute with a small parking lot that has valet at night. We ordered the seafood noodle soup, which was spicy and delicious. The chicken came out hot and so fresh with great portions. I'll come back again but also I'll make sure to keep ordering delivery from them. Thank you for a great dinner!

Decided to stop by here after trying stagger coffee next door in ktown. The restaurant was pretty empty on a Friday evening which maybe should've been my first red flag. Prices are very affordable. They have tons of different combos and drink specials. I ordered a 10 piece bone in wing in their cheesy tiger to try for ~$20. Unfortunately, the wings left much to be desired. They were on the smaller end, were crispy but were under seasoned and I couldn't taste the cheese flavor at all :(. When I tried to communicate this to the owner and asked for more seasoning, she said no. Personally, I've had better experiences at other kfc spots in la but this is a decent spot for a cheap meals since they have dishes for under $9. There are ample tables with extra seating in the back. Parking is limited as they share the lot with several other businesses in the same plaza.

Ask the Community - Rice Chicken

What kind of oil do you fry the chicken in? Which sauces are gluten free and which are nut free? Thank you!

Soy bean oil Only cheese tiger Everything is nut free.

Do any of the sauces have peanut in them? On the front of your menu it says that some sauces and powders contain peanut.

None of our sauces or powders have peanut in them!

Are there any nuts or tree nut flour used in your fried chicken? Are the fries gluten free too?

There are no nuts or tree nut flour used and unfortunately our fries are not gluten free. However, we do have a tornado potato that is gluten free!

Is the chicken Celiac friendly? As in: a) does the chicken share the fryer with other non-gluten friendly items and b) are the sauces also gluten free? Thanks!

Hello, re-answering this question but a) We use two fryers, one for foods containing gluten and one for gluten-free foods…

    Is there parking?

Yes, there is a parking lot that can be used which is free before 5PM. After 5PM, there is a valet service that is $3.

I had been craving their chicken for a while, so I finally came back today. As always, there was a long line. At first, the line wasn't moving at all, which was a little frustrating, but fortunately, it started moving much faster soon after. I hadn't been here in years, so it was nice to come back after such a long time. The chicken is definitely tasty, but unfortunately, they grilled it a little too much this time and some of it was quite burnt. I guess that's partly because they grill the chicken directly on the grill. And, too spicy for me : both chicken and fries. Parking here is always a complete challenge because the parking lot is small and there are usually so many people. But my parking luck is always amazing -- cars somehow always seem to pull out right in front of me! And once again, today, a car pulled out right in front of me, so I was able to get a parking spot easily. It felt like another parking miracle! I asked for a cup of water, and he kindly gave me ice water. I also asked if I could have one extra plastic bag, and he gave me another one without any problem. The staff were very friendly, which was good. However, there's one thing to keep in mind when getting takeout here: the chicken is so oily that the grease can actually soak through and leak all over the plastic bag. You basically have to throw the first plastic bag away afterward. That's why I'm really glad I asked for an extra bag and brought one home with me. It definitely came in handy!

I ordered the quarter chicken with rice and salad, and I was really impressed with the portion sizes. Everything was flavorful, comforting, and gave me the kind of authentic Latin food vibes that I love. The sauce was definitely the highlight for me--it was so good that I found myself adding it to every bite. The prices are also fantastic. For the quality and quantity of food you get, this place is truly a gem. That said, there were a couple of downsides. The restaurant itself is very small, with limited seating available. The customer service also wasn't the best during my visit. Since the dining area was completely full when we arrived, we decided to place our order to go. While we were waiting for our food, a table opened up, so we asked if we could sit down and eat there instead. We were told that because we had ordered our food to go, we were not allowed to sit in the restaurant. I found that a bit disappointing, especially since we had already paid for the same food as everyone else dining in. Overall, the food was excellent and definitely the reason I would come back.
