asada only

Asada is crazy!! Def get the cheese balls too. A satisfying meal with beans, cucumber and tomato salad, plenty of rice and meats. The sauce has a little kick too which adds so much flavor to the meal. Take-out only, but still fresh and delicious!

ACA Plate combo 2
Stephanie L.

I've been wanting to try this place forever. Placed an order over the phone and it was ready for pick up in 20 min I ordered the ACA plate combo 2, which comes with more meat, dozen cheese balls, and an empanada. Total came out to $33. Understandably, with inflation, prices are a bit higher but this easily fed 2 people. The combo plate comes with slices of asado, sausage, and pork belly over a bed of yellow rice and sides of black beans and tomatoes and corn. A side of chimichurri comes with that goes really well with the meats. The cheese balls had a nice cheesy taste with a texture similar to pao de queijo. I like to cut it in half and put a slice of sausage so it's like a mini slider. The beef empanada was really good, well seasoned, and stuffed well. My only wish is that it was bigger. The parking lot is small and shares with other businesses so I can see it being a slight problem during peak hours, so call in for pick up. Service was really nice and friendly. Support your local mom and pop businesses!

Yumdddd

Yummy they cook their meat perfectly ! My bf and I got the combo 2 with all asado they're chimichuri is on the spot ! It's very acidic and flavorful ! We got another salad on the side and their sauce is on spot too I love their sauces everything was just so yummy and definitely don't forget the cheese balls perfect with the meal will be coming back !!! it's togo order only nice meal to eat at home !

#1 with cheese balls

One my of favorite restaurants in k-town! I have been going here for years. I never get sick of this place. There is a small parking lot that it shares with other restaurants. Since covid, they only do togo orders. I usually order in advance over the phone as sometimes it can get busy. I always order #1 which comes with 3 types of meat of asada, pork belly, sausage and rice, beans, and salad. I think the portion can be a little small for guys as my portion is pretty big for my size and the meat portion is usually not enough for me. There is an option for bigger size if you pay more. The plate comes with a chimichurri sauce and I usually add hot sauce which is a little extra. Definitely not a fancy place but their foods are really really good and I never get sick of it.

Just the Asado please.

Asado is the key to my heart - one of the top Argentinian cuts of beef short ribs - deliciously layered with a little fat on both sides, just enough to take you into umami paradise. The meat is good. It will leave you wishing for more, no matter how much is on your plate. I wish they would have included Chimichurri but this is replaced with a vinegar-like, clear hot sauce. Clearly, the Asado is the star of the show and sadly, everything else is just kinda, you know, back up. The rice fails. It felt a bit dry and although I couldn't taste it, my wife stated that there was a "crayon" aftertaste. Her palette is very sensitive so I believe her. I just thought it was really dry. The black beans were sad. I just really wish a bit of TLC was given in prep and execution. Seriously, I don't think it would be too difficult for black beans to taste good. It just needed more oomph. The rice and beans, which is an important pairing for this type of cuisine, both failed like a mismatched pair of ice skaters vying for gold at the Olympics. They include a salad that just makes you want to cry. A small bed of canned corn, two slices of cucumber, and small cubes of tomato. The meat was good but personally for me, side dishes are just as important. Fix this aspect of the dish and you have a winner.

Combo

You are perfect, please don't ever change. Asado, the rice, the sauces, the sausage that's seasoned just right, the pork belly, the hospitality. Thank you.

Asado, pork belly combo

This is one of my favorite neighborhood spots. Consistently amazing quality. I always get the combo with extra meat (asado and pork belly). Sauces and hot sauce I loveee. Absolutely hits the spot every time!

Love their combo menu. You have to order the phone before you get the restaurant. Sometimes the parking is hard.

We were greeting by a friendly staff member, perhaps the owner, who helped us with our empanada selection. We got spicy chicken, spicy beef, corn, and criolla empanadas. I strongly recommend the Criolla empanada, which is the most traditional, Argentinian empanada. It has ground beef, raisins, eggs, green onions, and spices. It was absolutely delicious and, when I go back, I will select this empanada!! I also recommend the corn empanadas (humita), especially if you're looking for a vegetarian option. It has corn, melted mozzarella, and white sauce. So delicious! I got these to go, but there are cute tables indoors and outdoors if you want to enjoy your empanadas there. They also sell mate and other Argentinian goodies like alfajores. Prices are reasonable; you can purchase just a few or a dozen. This has become my favorite empanada place!

I love empanadas and wanted to see if this place lived up to the great reviews…read more The gentleman taking the orders was super nice and threw in a little something on the house. While the empanadas are $7.50 each, they are large and packed pretty well. Unfortunately that's where it ends... I tried four different kinds (cheese and potato, beef, criolla and chicken) and while they tasted fresh, they just didn't have a lot of flavor. I was also a little disappointed that they were fried instead of baked. They don't compare to the empanadas at El Gaucho market in North Redondo Beach, which has been my go to spot for empanadas for a while. Now those are super flavorful. Two disappointing stars for the empanadas and an extra star for customer service.

They have a large assortment of different flavor empanadas. Since it was my first time here, I really appreciated that they marked the fan favorites. We got 3 different flavors as part of the Combo meal with a drink (canned soda of your choice). Carne Asada - This was my favorite! Finely ground beef that's well-seasoned, and very saucy and flavorful. I also love that the empanada didn't break apart given how saucy it was. The outside shell was also very well made. Korean BBQ - This was picked out of curiosity since it was a popular one. This tastes like bulgogi, even the seasoning. Definitely saucier than the Carne Asada, but it did get tricky to eat closer to the end. Chicken - Really wanted to try the Chicken Verde but they were sold out so opted for chicken. It's definitely as expected, but I would like to try the popular Chicken Verde next time. While these are a bit pricy at $6 each, the 3 Empanada + Drink Combo does make it a little better. These are also quite substantial so I can't imagine eating more than two, if you're not that hungry, even one might work as a quick snack. We shared the 3 amongst two people. The ambiance is fun and lively if you like people. It can be crowded and annoying at times given it's GCM. Also, if you are new to this area, there's no AC since it's an open space, so on hot days it can be a lot. They do have seating in the back that have a lot more fans above. After this experience, I would come back again and try some more flavors. I was also surprise to find they have some dessert empanadas too (sweet flavors). This is a great option if you are looking for a snack or quick meal!

They keep a list near the counter where they list their most popular in order by most sold. The service was friendly and the food was prepared insanely fast. I ordered a philly cheesesteak and a korean bbq empanada and they were both good. I don't know that I would order those again. The cheesesteak was good but I believe there was a sweetness from the dough that was throwing me off. For the korean bbq, it was too sweet all together for me and it was a meat overload. I would return to try some of the other flavors but I wouldn't grab these again.

I ordered a dozen empanadas for the take and bake option. I love the take and bake option because it is like having freshly baked empanadas in my own kitchen! I baked them per the directions on the website and it worked perfectly. The take out window was very convenient and online ordering was easy. World Empanadas has so many empanadas flavors to choose from. I tried a bunch of flavors and I liked all of them! My favorites were the Santa Fe chicken, breakfast, spinach, and the chile con carne. They all had amazing flavor. The order came with a big serving of chimichurri and that was a nice addition to the empanadas. World Empanadas also has breakfast burritos that I am interested in trying next time. Since I don't live close, this is my new stop when I'm going to Burbank airport. Like genuinely one of the best horchata I've ever had, it was super creamy and flavorful but not overly sweet. I tried one of their desserts being their banana and Nutella empanada along with other savory empanadas. Everything was amazing. The Nutella + banana one was definitely a standout for me because they did not hold back at all. It was packed with chocolate and banana in every bite, which I loved because I'm a huge chocolate person. It didn't feel skimpy or dry at all, just super rich and satisfying! For the savory options, I tried the chile con carne, Santa Fe chicken, the breakfast, and the beef & potato. Every single one was delicious, seriously you cannot go wrong with any of them. BUT my favorite was for sure the Santa Fe chicken!! It had so much flavor and tasted really well-seasoned. You can tell everything is made with care. Their green chimichurri needs its own praise. I've tried a fair amount of chimichurris from different restaurants and grocery stores, but this one!!! This one is done perfectly. I can't describe the flavor to you, you just have to try it haha. It goes so well with any of the empanadas! Also, the empanadas came out HOT. Like actually steaming when I opened them, which made them that more enjoyable. Everything tasted really fresh. On top of that, the service was so sweet. The girls working there were really kind and welcoming, which just made the whole experience even better. Definitely coming back because I'm already craving that horchata and Nutella banana empanada again!! Thank you so much for having me :)

I love different cultural foods that make LA what it is today. I ordered: Beef saltenas (3/5) - dry overall, sweet and savory veggie beef stew inside; comes with a watery green sauce Chicken saltenas (3/5) - similar to beef saltenas Cheese empanadas (2/5) - 90% bread with a bland, thin spread of bland cheese. It was puffed up and empty. Rollos de queso (1/5) - so dry, almost choked, little to no cheese & all bread Cuñapes (1/5) - tastes like a sweet version of the brazilian cheese bread appetizer at fogo de chao, except this is one is super dry as well and makes you cough for water I really wanted to like this place but unfortunately missed the mark. For a little over $20, it was definitely worth trying but I wouldn't go back.
