I really wish I knew about World Empanadas sooner because I just found out about it and I have been missing out on some amazing empanadas! I ordered a dozen empanadas for the take and bake option. I love the take and bake option because it is like having freshly baked empanadas in my own kitchen! I baked them per the directions on the website and it worked perfectly. The take out window was very convenient and online ordering was easy. World Empanadas has so many empanadas flavors to choose from. I tried a bunch of flavors and I liked all of them! My favorites were the Santa Fe chicken, breakfast, spinach, and the chile con carne. They all had amazing flavor. The order came with a big serving of chimichurri and that was a nice addition to the empanadas. World Empanadas also has breakfast burritos that I am interested in trying next time. I finally had the pleasure of trying World of Empanadas and I'm honestly so impressed. First of all, their horchata... SO good. Like genuinely one of the best horchata I've ever had, it was super creamy and flavorful but not overly sweet. I tried one of their desserts being their banana and Nutella empanada along with other savory empanadas. Everything was amazing. The Nutella + banana one was definitely a standout for me because they did not hold back at all. It was packed with chocolate and banana in every bite, which I loved because I'm a huge chocolate person. It didn't feel skimpy or dry at all, just super rich and satisfying! For the savory options, I tried the chile con carne, Santa Fe chicken, the breakfast, and the beef & potato. Every single one was delicious, seriously you cannot go wrong with any of them. BUT my favorite was for sure the Santa Fe chicken!! It had so much flavor and tasted really well-seasoned. You can tell everything is made with care. Their green chimichurri needs its own praise. I've tried a fair amount of chimichurris from different restaurants and grocery stores, but this one!!! This one is done perfectly. I can't describe the flavor to you, you just have to try it haha. I went to World Empanadas yesterday and honestly, it did not disappoint. I ordered the soy chorizo and the breakfast empanada, and both were packed with flavor and perfectly cooked. My dad went with the potato and chorizo empanadas and was just as impressed. I saw on a Yelp friend review this place and I wanted to try it. The place is small and I only saw the windows to order and pick up. So I ordered on line and when I got there my order was ready. I really recommend them. They have different flavors, they even have some sweet ones. I ordered 3 of mushrooms and two of the Garbanzo ones. I also ordered some pepperoni and some cheese. They were so warm, flaky, tasty, and delicious. The mushrooms flavor had enough stuffing and the crust very soft and flaky. Any flavor you get they are pretty good. We didn't try the sweet ones but they do have that option. The empanadas were nice and plump and full of flavor and cheesy. They don't skip on the filing plus the flavors all seemed to taste good together. The dough was delicious and they were baked to perfection not being to hard or soft just the right amount of crunch around the edges. Those empanadas did not stand a chance! Service: 5/5 Service was great and the young guy who tended us was very friendly and answered some of our questions. We placed our order and waited about 5 minutes before our delicious empanadas came out. Unfortunately I was lured in from a TikTok video. I called right at 9 am, as soon as they opened. I ordered a breakfast burrito with both sausage and bacon. It took around 18 minutes for the burrito to be done. A little longer than anticipated. Especially first thing in the morning On their TikTok they had a video making the breakfast burrito and they started off making these potatoes that were seasoned up really well. However when I got my burrito, those potatoes were DEFINITELY MISSING. I didn't get anything even close to that. I posted a pic of the burrito I received. Compare to their social media. Definitely a big difference. Not to mention it was a little on the smaller side And the bacon and sausage were chopped up very tiny so it was a little hard to tell what everything was while you were eating. My last big gripe is that the burrito was baked and it made the tortilla a little hard in some places. It was edible but not worth 4 or 5 stars. The salsas were good that they provided. Being vegan, it can sometimes be challenging to find healthy, delicious "finger foods" on the go. This place blew my socks off. I tried their masala empanada and mushroom & cashew cheese empanada and I was super impressed. It appears that they make all orders from scratch, and what I REALLY loved was the fact that the empanadas were not oily at all. It looks like they bake them instead of frying them, which is a huge plus in my book. Only gripe I would have is the price. My sister, daughter, and I enjoyed a lunch here yesterday. My sister and I each got a lunch special which came with 2 empanadas, a side (we got salad), and a drink (we got hibiscus tea which was a $1 up charge.) We got: - Chicken pot pie - it had good flavor, but didn't taste like pot pie to me. It wasn't bad though. - Biscuits and gravy - my sister liked it. I didn't have that one - Southwestern chicken (I forgot the name but it was something like that - This was tasty with a little but of spice. The salad was just spinach and shredded carrots. Fortunately the house made dressing was good. It has a unique flavor, it was tangy with a little sweetness. I just wish the salad had a little more too it, especially since I'm not a huge raw spinach fan. But my daughter who barely eats salad are multiple bites, so that was a win. The chimmichuri was different than what I've had in the past. It was watery and more red than what I've had in the past. But it was still good. The hibiscus tea was delicious. I don't like super sweet tea, so I asked for a cup of water to go with it, just in case. But it wasn't totally necessary. The Jamaica had the right combination of spices and flavors that I really enjoyed. I did end up using the water since I'm more of an unsweetened tea fan though. I have gone to World Empanada 4 times so far all for Caltech faculty lunch talks. The thing I really like about their empanadas is that they're baked not fried. They will also sell uncooked empanadas that you can cook at home. Last Thursday our geology department at ordered 5 dozen mixed varieties. I have had their Santa Fe Chicken and Chicken Pot Pie Empanadas. Today after our faculty lunch talk was over there was only the creamy corn and caprese pizza empanada left. I took 2 corn and the last remaining caprese pizza empanada. The creamy corn was absolutely delicious and the caprese pizza was good but not anything I would order. Out of the 4 times I have picked up our order everything has been great and the faculty have complemented on how great the food was. Their chimichurri and Mint Chutney sauces are great. Only one time they forgot to give use 5 corn empanada's. When I picked up the order I find out they were not packed when I got to Caltech. They credited our credit card with the 5 missing empanadas. This most recent order was perfect. Keep up the great work World Empanada. We look forward to many more lunch orders. read more

Comes with a beautiful crema on the side but don't skip on the salsa verde! Not too spicy so don't be alarmed. (Chimichurri is great too) As for the empanadas, you can't go wrong! My favorites are the biscuits & gravy and the ham & cheese. Be aware that These aren't empanadas that have olives in them. If you are like me and don't love olives then you'll be in heaven. Was in the area for an event so did a quick search and immediately wanted to try this place - and so glad I did! It was about 10 a.m. (Saturday) and one group ahead of me when I got there. It's outdoors only now. I asked when ordering if the inside was open because of pictures on here showing an inside area; they said they've never reopened the inside since COVID times. Both employees I interacted with were very friendly. They have 3 tables with 4 chairs each outside, so I guess don't come when it's busy if you intend to stay and eat onsite. I got the $13.95 combo meal deal that comes with 2 empanadas, a side and a drink. Side options were: tortilla soup, lentil soup, or a standard salad. It was breakfast time so I got the Biscuits & Gravy and the Breakfast (eggs, bacon) empanadas. Both were excellent - the B&G is not traditional but very tasty with the spices they use. The tortilla soup was excellent as well. I would definitely recommend this place for the food, but not for the ambience. Sitting along the sidewalk of a very busy street is not ideal for eating.
