My first time trying this spot since it took over Norm's after hours. Calling in was easy, my tacos were done in 10 minutes, prices were solid, and the drive through was open. I got asada tacos, al pastor tacos, rice and beans, and an horchata. My favorite was their Al pastor. I liked the beans too, but I didn't like the flavor of the rice. I'm not sure if the rice was over seasoned or a certain seasoning was throwing me off, but it was very strong. It's definitely a style of Mexican rice that I've never had before . I prefer mixing my rice and beans together though, which helped. The beans and rice are sold separately so it's really your choice if you want to get it anyways. Their horchata was good which is always a good sign for me in a taco spot. I'll be back to try their carnitas and fries.

Cabeza, buche and lengua (+$0.50) tacos were very very good

If you're like me and drive to Taco Azteca and decide, we'll just eat at Norms.... well you are at the same place. I guess after 3:30 PM Norms turns into Taco Azteca. I was giving them a hard time asking for a pastrami when my daughter said, "Dad, cut it out, we both said we wanted tacos". And I will say the tacos were very good. I had one each of cabeza, buche and lengua tacos. The green sauce was sooo good. My wife and carnitas tacos and ended up ordering one more. My daughter had the asada quesadilla and was not super happy with the red sauce that came inside but I tasted it and it was pretty good. This place is small but has some outside seating area. Looks like your typical Greek hamburger joint that we all have in our neighborhood.

I was really excited to try authentic tacos in Burbank, and it was cool to see that this place is Norm's / Diner American in the day, and Mexican food in the evening. I ordered 2 carne asada and 1 al pastor tacos -- they were pretty solid, though I wish the al pastor had come from the spit (trompo) and had more of that burnt flavor, but otherwise was quite flavorful. The carne asada I wouldn't write home about, since it was missing some of that charred grill flavor that makes me love street style tacos. Also felt that it could have been seasoned better. Service was quick and good, and prices were fair. Appreciated that they open late, and would still go after a long flight home landing in BUR. Might try the lengua next time!

I wondered in a bit confused. A highly rated Mexican Restaurant at the Norm's restaurant. Turns out they she the location. American food in the AM and Mexican food at night! I ordered a plain old chicken burrito. It was good, though a but heavy on the beans. It tasted good though. The salsas were great. The staff were friendly and helpful. I think I've found a new favorite.

Just so y'all know, Taco Azteca Original takes over Norm's Hamburgers after Norm's closes for the day. So, if you think you are in the wrong place, you aren't. I love lengua and I'm glad we found this place. It's so good. It's hard to find good lengua on the menu, so i had to try it. I'm a pretty light eater and I scarfed down three tacos without blinking. Yeah, I was full, but I really wanted to go for round two. The guy at the register said the cabeza was good, but I couldn't. I will have to get it next time because there will be a next time. It was great weather, so we ate in the little patio. It was really nice. Nothing pretentious, just some good food. Yes, I will definitely be going back.

Welcome to the neighborhood, Tacos Azteca. I was hearing good things about this hot new business, so I made a point to try it out. Ordered a taco, burrito & nachos. Everything hit the spot! Their ingredients are so fresh and they definitely use a good amount . I tried both salsas and the green was my favorite. The staff were super friendly and were doing an excellent job keeping the flow going. Indoor/outdoor seating. For those that aren't familiar with the area . It's at Norm's. They take over after Norm's closes. 330-1030pm closed on Wednesday's

Favorite cabeza tacos I've found in Burbank! I always wanted some good tacos near me and the Taco Gods answer my prayers with Taco Azteca because they're literally down the street from me. Lengua is my second favorite. The carnitas are delicious too. I also tried the fries and they're a solid pick. The burrito is good too. Not a huge fan of the nachos but I'm also not a huge nacho cheese person so that's on my preference. Staff is always friendly and service is fast. I usually call in my order for pick up and my food is ready in about 10 minutes. Taco Azteca takes over after Norm's closes and the place is open for dine in as usual. The outside tables are cute with the string lights for decor. They offer two salsas: red and green. Both are tasty but the red does have a bit more kick to it. 10/10 for me!

Fave taco place in Burbank! Meat is perfectly seasoned , tender , and doesn't have any fatty pieces . I've had the asada taco plate & asada burrito & I was happy with both :) . Fast & friendly service too :)

This is my 4th time here and I love it! Great customer service and super tastey asada tacos! Def recommend trying them!

So great to have a good taco place in Burbank & with a drive thru! I was so excited to try them and they didn't disappoint. On our first visit we tried the Asada tacos and Asada Burrito and they were delicious. I told my In-laws about Azteca and we went back and tried the shrimp cocktail and the ceviche on a hot day, soooooo good! I highly recommend you try them if you're into authentic Mexican food!

I stopped by Kalaveras while visiting the Jackalope Art Fair in Downtown Burbank. After walking…read morearound in the heat, I wanted somewhere with seating, shade, and A/c. I had passed by this restaurant before but had never been curious enough to actually stop in. This time their drink menu advertised outside caught my attention so I figured "hey, why not?" From the moment I walked in i was trying to figure out whether I liked the atmosphere or not. The music was excellent, but the décor took me a second to process. It felt like an 80s lounge crashed into a neon Día de los Muertos inspired art gallery. It's most definitely not a quiet, cozy restaurant. It has more of a loud, colorful, party style personality. I was seated promptly by a kind hostess but I wasn't attended to by a waiter for nearly 10 minutes. Once my waiter did come by he was kind, quick, and professional. Now, I'm going to be honest.. I'm pretty picky when it comes to Mexican restaurant food, so I didn't have the highest expectations. I ordered the potato taquitos, a Jarrito Loco made with watermelon purée, vodka instead of tequila, and chamoy on the rim, plus chiles toreados and one carne asada taco. Laugh all you want, but I was half expecting the food to come out looking like a cafeteria lady had splattered it onto a plate... I was genuinely impressed by the presentation instead. The potato "taquitos" were bigger than I expected so don't let the "itos" fool you. They were crispy, flavorful, filling, and honestly so delicious. Those get a 5/5 from me. My drink was also incredible. It was refreshing, especially with how hot the day was, and had just the right amount of alcohol. The presentation was so cute I almost felt bad ruining it. Easily one of the best drinks I've had in the Burbank area -- 5/5. The carne asada taco wasn't as impressive as the potato taquitos, so I'd give that a 3/5. The chile toreado was definitely spicy, it just needed to be salted a little more but otherwise no complaints! I need to remind myself not to be too quick to judge because I was genuinely surprised by this place. The décor wasn't fully my personal style, but the food and drinks more than made up for it. I'd definitely come back again, especially for the potato taquitos and drinks.

I came with a friend who is a regular and she gave me a lot of good recommendations of what to order. The menu is quite large, filled with tons of delicious Mexican breakfast options! I'm a big machaca fan, so that's what I ordered. As an appetizer, we got the molletitos with chorizo and OMG! It was absolutely delicious. I got to taste my friend's huevos divorciados and the sauce was so delicious. My machaca was different than what I have had at other restaurants, a little on the dry side, but I enjoyed it. Loved the rice and beans it came with! Another highlight was the Cafe de Olla itself! I think I downed like 4 cups of it, it was so delicious. Service here was fantastic. Highly recommend!

They told me the wait was 30-45 minutes since I really wanted to try the place I agreed. We arrived there at 11:15am and the out me in the waitlist, I wait for 1hr and I never receive the notification on my phone that my table was ready so I want to ask what was going on, the guy tolde oh you missed your table, and I said how come if I haven't got any notifications on my phone? He said show me your phone and I did and he did apologize and said give me few minutes I will give you the next table, does few minutes turn into another 39min. At this point I was already frustrated from all the wait but I remained calmed. Finally after almost 2hr we got our table, we order our food. My daughter order the French toast with fresh strawberry's, on the menu has the option with strawberry sauce or Fresh strawberry's and we specifically asked for Fresh strawberry's. I order chilaquiles and my husband also chilaquiles and my sun order pancakes. The food arrived after almost 1hr wait, we were starving after all the wait and the order of the French toast was wrong they send it with strawberry sauce instead of fresh strawberry's and we let our waiter know and he did offer to change it or just bring the fresh strawberry's on the side and my daughter said she was starving and didn't want to wait for another order so just said she just wanted the strawberry's on the side, he did bring the strawberries. And everything will be fine even do we didn't like the food, but when we got the check they charge $6 for the side of strawberries, I wouldn't mind if it was our mistake. I know $6 it's not a lot, it's just the principle that they supposed to correct their mistake. We didn't ask them to remove the charge we just paid and we still leave a good tip because we al way like to tip good. But honestly I wouldn't recommend this place. And we are never going back.

We finally got there, today, 4pm (on a Saturday) and the food and the staff were excellent. We ordered the Queso fundido for appetizer and as long as you're in the mood for bubbly cheese and chorizo, this is great with chips, but they also give you a choice of flour or corn tortillas with it, as well. For main, we tried the Molcajete, which we haven't had, anywhere, since we lived down in O.C. It turned out to be better than what we had in O.C., from the sauce to the meats and cheese to the peppers. Also, their chicken tortilla soup was good (as a side with the Molcajete) with lots of veggies in it. The staff were wonderful, though.. From the first waiter who allowed us to change from a table to a booth to our waiter, Jose, who was friendly and looked after us (also quick on getting back to us, every time). And a special thanks to Yennie (possibly, spelled with a J', if so, "lo siento") who also helped us and even when *someone* (me) had a party foul with a margarita, she quickly helped out and was super nice about it. After a trip to the dentist (for a crown replacement) and a long week, everyone at Don Cuco's allowed us to relax and the food (and margaritas ;-) ) made it perfect.

Ok for the food - Meatballs in soup had lots of cumin, I liked it but if you hate cumin then skip it. - Strong margarita drink that my gf got drunk off of one lol they sure load it up - Zarapes, one chicken one beef. beef was really good. - Lobster Enchiladas: ok i have a lot to say about this one, it was different, but not in a bad way. The garlic rice and black bean side was really yummy, better than the sides on the zarapes. I ordered it because i needed something different and yes it was. Now there is one problem with this dish and its that they don't use real lobster, its a imitation crab/lobster meat like product shaped differently and made from fish and nowhere on the menu says that which is not ethical business practice. That said it didn't taste bad but its not real. Overall I would comeback, overall the food was good but not groundbreaking. The Mixed alcohol drinks is definitely get your moneys worth and is better than the other place across the street. Steak is good for the fajita like dishes, Seafood dish tastes good but not real lobster chunks, i would probably try the regular fish next time.

But unfortunately, they were really unfriendly & understaffed and the waiter/bartender was extremely bothered we were there and seemed very overwhelmed. I don't know who Celia is but maybe get more staff in the kitchen and a hostess and more waitress/waiters. We went in Saturday Valentines night dinner right before 6pm and found parking to be easy and should have taken that as a sign but figured we get better service. NOPE! The parking not is just really small and the people sitting had ordered and committed to staying I guess. Keep reading and you'll get my drift! Honestly, We assumed it would be a great night romantic dinner. Then, we walked in and felt so neglected. No hostess to greet or seat you. The bus man or waiter said wait here and cleaned a table when 3 were available. It looks like the three employees were doing everything and at the same time doing nothing! It was comical at first. He sat us finally and then we ordered. Appetizers and a Molcajete and two nonalcoholic drinks. By now 32mins passed. No chips & salsa. No nothing... we should have just left. But we were lazy to leave elsewhere with no reservations on Valentine day. He brought me a drink from the bar like if I ordered it, I hate to say he might have memory issues. Then he noticed we still don't have our drinks and he had to ask again what I ordered. Now 50mins passed and at another 15 mins the main course came before the appetizers were served so I cancelled it. It just seems like they didn't care for anyone else but the people at the bar. Ppl were just walking in and ended up leaving or seating themselves. Majority left and they didn't even notice! Not welcoming at all and as for the food. I feel like everything was previously frozen as the chicken and meat was very chewy-leather like. The cheese was cold. And just grateful that we didn't get sick because it wasn't cooked all the way. When I go into a restaurant, I expect good service and quality food. I unfortunately won't be returning. Such a shame because this place has western character straight out of a saloon and can't speak for the drinks as we didn't even eat our entire meal and wanted to get the hell out. Do better because this could be a cute hangout spot!
