I ordered the "Naco" chicken burrito. The guy who seemed to be the owner offered on his own to mix in a second meat for me to try. I appreciated this since it was my first visit. I ended up with a chicken and steak burrito for no upcharge, so I knew the guy was just trying to make sure his customers were eating well. Service was quick and friendly. My first impression was "this burrito has some weight." I would guess it was around 1.5 to 2 lb. The burrito was generously filled and expertly wrapped. The burrito's overall flavor was traditional and comforting. The red salsa I poured on from the side had a decently roasted/smoky flavor. The closest comparison to the feeling the burrito gave me is eating a burger at an old school diner. It's what you'd expect to get from a place that's been around for decades, which is nothing fancy or trendy, but surprisingly uncommon and always welcome. Stopped here the other day for a quick snack- it is super tiny inside, just a few tightly packed tables, one cook, one man at the register. It was 1:30 on a Tuesday and there were a lot of people coming in and out! All except us speaking only Spanish so I think that says a lot about the authenticity and quality! We only had enough cash to get 4 tacos, decided on all pastor. They were delicious and much more substantial servings than typical street tacos. Even if you go by their posted close time of 7 p.m., it's still a store employee/manager/owner sitting down inside an unlocked restaurant, with their open sign still illuminated, SMOKING A CIGARETTE. Well it seems as the other reviews for this place is either Love or Hate and not much in between, Taco Naco is a small place located in a strip mall almost hidden behind another business that's located on the corner, you could easily drive right by this place and not even notice it, and whom ever laid out the parking spaces must be "Nano". I've been coming to Taco Naco since the 80's which is all the praise they need. That being said I guess I'll expand a bit. I just got back this morning and ordered the chorizo breakfast burrito and it was fantastic. Along with a generous serving of chorizo it was stuffed with eggs, beans, rice, onions and cilantro. White as White gets guy here and I'm trying to figure out why Yelp would post the review from a Black victim. Very good taco joint, been going there for about 40 years now. If anyone can find a larger burrito, for the money, please let us all know where. I moved from that State almost 20 years ago, and it's still a must stop for me. I also know many who used to live in the area, and still stop in when in town. Is it the best you'll ever have? No, but very solid food and have never been sick or creeped out with the interior. Hot sauces are a perfect compliment to the foods they serve as well. I'll eat there until it or myself no longer exist. FYI folks, go to any hole in the wall taco shop at closing time, or first thing and there are always meats or accompaniments that are not as fresh as they were when first prepared. My friend and I both got burritos there. We paid for burritos that were supposed to have loads of toppings, but they didn't have the toppings (guacamole, lettuce, etc.). They did go from $7.50 on the menu to $7, but were missing everything except chicken, beans, and cheese. We all know that guacamole's extra at Chipotle is like $2 so a two quarter discount seemed unfair. The joy of the visit was the vomiting that occurred after. 24 hours of revisiting that burrito with wet, hot acid jettisoning from our mouths. One of us lost money from lost work. One of us puked outside of a gas station on Laurel Canyon. One of us learned that minestrone looks the same going in as coming out. It's been a much more humbling experience than I expected for $7. I had fond memories of this place. Until I went back there and my al pastor burrito dashed my warm fuzzies to bits. I remember this place had the best al pastor. Having moved out of the area, I drove back in so I could relive the good times I had there. I ordered the al pastor burrito, with cheese. One of the better "once in a while" burrito places. In American culture, we usually eat until we finish our food compared to eating until we are satisfied. Once inside, there's a few tables, menus, a picture menu, and a tv...and that is pretty much for the decorations. They offer a pretty good variety of meat, but with every restaurant that I try...i go with what's familiar to see if this is better than the other place. I ordered carne asada burrito, and a carnitas taco. The man behind the counter immediately threw tortillas on the flat grill to heat them up. After some time, he threw the warm tortillas on a preparing area and asked if i wanted hot sauce and/or the onion cilantro mix. I said yes. Then I watch as he piles on meat, rice and the extra stuff on the burrito...and watch as he carefully barely closes the burrito and packs it inside the foil. MAN...that thing is HEAVY. I was excited driving home because of the smell, but when I took my first bite of the salty meat with the onions, salsa, rice...I knew that this was going to be challenging. That was probably the last time I finished that burrito. I either saved or shared the following times. Taco Naco is small hole in the wall Mexican food joint barley bigger than a taco truck. My first time eating there was about 25 years ago. Taco Naco was a convenient Mexican fix for years. I stopped going there mainly because I discovered Piparipau. Another great taco shack that is no more. I recently returned to Taco Naco and they still deliver. My favorite is an Al Pastor burrito with cheese, hot sauce and extra onions. Definitely more food than one should eat at a single sitting but once you take that first bite it's hard to stop until it's all gone. read more

I loved the veggie nachos that I got. The portions are pretty big and priced very well. The atmosphere and workers were nice and even the cops here loved it! Granted it is a little hole in the wall with the screen metal door and not much area to sit down to eat but you can order it to go and the son still uses the same style of cooking as his mother did years back when she ran the place.
