Mediocre and expensive BUT customer service was truly disgusting. The lady at the counter had no smile and no customer service skills. No response or reply when we asked her questions and she was sooooo upset when we wanted more than 2 sauces. Also disgustingly hot in there. Burrito was so plain and the tortilla was grainy. Definitely won't be coming back because of her and the mediocre food. Also looks like a bunch of people have complained. Blown away at the first bite! Incredibly delicious! Definitely a hole in the wall you don't want to miss out on. I think they have the best authentic burritos in town- the meat was juicy and flavorful. Very generous amount of meat too which I appreciated because it was clearly the start of the show. Although this is very different than what I am used to, I must admit that the asada burrito is great. The meat is juicy and flavorful. The tortillas are real good, maybe handmade? it's alright now, havent been here for a long time and came back a few days ago, was really excited to eat here again. but my expectations were ruined. ive been working for 6 days a week working 12 hour shifts for 3 weeks in a row and came here at 10:10pm at the very end of my 3 week work grind, i thought i'd treat myself to a place i remembered that i loved and finally i decided to come here. i ordered a burrito with asada, a chicken quesadilla and a horchata. didnt get the horchata was looking forward to that but small mistakes happen, the chicken was just not there, it was kind of rubbery and had hard pieces in it with barely any flavor, the burrito was the worst, it was wrapped horribly. the tortilla that was used for it, was stale, the tortilla was chipping away, i had all the additional ingredients pushed to one end, the burrito was like 25% meat, 25% ingredients & 50% tortilla, on top of nothing being right, the asada had no flavor on it's own, i put everything in a bowl because the tortilla was inedible and eating it on it's own was depressing. honestly i wouldve gave this a 1 star but i called the next day mentioning if i can get a refund on my horchata since i didnt get it, and the lady was very nice about it and said i can come in and pick it up. i really appreciate the kindness but nevertheless the quality just isnt there any more, i dont know what happened here... thank you for the memories but i dont think ill be coming back here again, not sure if it's because it was late maybe the quality wasnt great? im not sure read more

As long as this place exists, cash will always be king. My father was treated to a burrito here last week by a very cheap and picky lady. He's also not easy to please when we talk about carne asada. It was my first time here and I'm not a burrito-eater, ever. Burritos are for men; Working men with big appetites. But I decided to eat like a man today and ordered the carne asada burrito con todo. Holy mother of baby Jesus! It was soooo damned good! I don't want to call it "flavorful" like any other peasant. Just come and taste them yourself. The fact that people of all ethnicities and sexes come here convinced me this is not your average taco joint -- Firemen, day laborers, Armenian men and women, young and old, phone orders that are non-stop... this explains why the existence of this restaurant has not been squashed yet by Big Boring Building thieves. I am sad to give 1 star to this place, because it used to be one of my go-to spots, and won't be going anymore. I don't really post on yelp unless I have had very negative experiences multiple times and/or it's unsafe - Bad service example: Ordered horchata with food. Food was ready to grab, there was no horchata. Asked where's horchata. They said no more horchata. I said... Okay, then how long will it take to make new batch? They said they'll give Jamaica instead cuz that's available. I said I don't want Jamaica, I ordered and paid for horchata. Why didn't you tell me there was horchata before? They do a BIG SIGH and AUDACITY TO ROLL THEIR EYES then comply to make new batch... THAT TOOK 30 MINUTES. Unsafe examples: I've found plastic in the food. I've probably unknowingly consumed them thinking they were onions (see picture). Also, the meat tastes funky/old at times. I've been coming to El Sauz Tacos in Glendale for years, and it's hands down one of my favorite taco spots. The food is consistently great--fresh, flavorful, and exactly what you want from authentic Mexican street-style tacos. My go-to order is the asada burrito and a few tacos on the side. They never disappoint. The staff here are always friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better every time I visit. They also have a good amount seating that's comfortable. That said, there are a couple of things that can be a little inconvenient. First, El Sauz isn't available on any delivery apps, so if you want their food, you have to make the trip to Glendale. It's worth it, but sometimes I wish I could just order in. Second, they only accept cash, so be sure to bring some with you because they don't take card payments. This cash-only spot is a gem both in price and quality. I got a taco of almost every kind of meat, and each meat was cooked perfectly and uniquely. BEST BURRITO OF MY LIFE! From the moment I walked in and heard only Spanish, I knew this place was going to be good. The inside is quaint, clean, and welcoming. I got a combo breakfast burrito for only $11 and it came with all fresh ingredients, well rounded flavors, gooey cheese when you take each bite, warm meats and scrambled eggs... just, amazing. Exactly what I wanted. I will definitely go out of my way to visit this place again.
