Every time we're in LA, we make it a point to go to Villas Tacos, no matter how far out of the way it is. Yes, the line is long, but trust me, it's worth it. There's no indoor seating, so either grab some extra napkins and eat in your car or keep an eye on the outdoor tables and hope someone leaves so you can grab a seat. Regardless, these tacos are SO worth it. Every single taco has its own distinct flavor, and I've tried pretty much everything on the menu without being disappointed once. The blue corn tortillas are soft but sturdy enough to hold all the toppings without falling apart, and they absolutely do not skimp on the fillings. The tacos are packed with meat and guac, so you're definitely getting your money's worth. Don't forget to stop by the salsa station and grab some salsa, because they're all good! Their aguas are also so bomb, and they come in quart containers, which is another reason you get so much for your money. Seriously, wait in that line. I promise you'll be so happy with your tacos, and you'll understand why Bad Bunny featured Villa's Tacos in his halftime show. read more

Came here for Friday night dinner and there's already a line, 6:30pm for tacos. The parking lot was quite big so thankfully it wasn't that hard looking for parking. Also enjoyed how festive the shop was. We got a mix of queso tacos, carne asada tacos, and chorizo tacos. Service was very quick and efficient. There is not seating inside the store, but there are some seating outside. It does get pretty crowded though. I got to try the chorizo queso tacos, this was pretty good! Although I feel like the chorizo was a bit too minced? I wish it was chunkier. It was still very flavorful as a taco itself. The carne asada I actually liked better! The carne asada was soft and chewy, also great amounts of flavor. I enjoyed how generous they were with the gauc on each taco. These are definitely on the pricier side of tacos. OMG this place is so good. I tried their tacos for the first time this past week and they were so much better than I thought. They're unique in that they use Japanese sweet potato as one of their fillings. Incredible option for people who are vegetarian or looking to reduce their meat consumption. The tacos here are absolutely delicious. I suggest getting their sampler to be able to try several tacos in one visit. Service is friendly, they are so upbeat, hard-working, efficient and fast. It was so fun to come here and see what it was like after the cameo in the Super Bowl! It was nice to see that there was still a long line just like how it used to be except this time, there was filming of interviews and they continued to show the appearance of this treasure during the Halftime Show on loop. I love the Villas' Trio, which comes with three queso tacos including the Ranchera Asada, Papas con Chorizo, and Black Bean con Pollo. I got this the last time I went and enjoyed seeing everyone taking it all in as the vibes were higher than ever. Every taco had its own personality and still made a huge impact on my experience and I was able to make some recommendations here and there. The Sandía Agua Fresca is my go-to and I def had to order it and drink most of it before making the drive back home. I recommend this place to anybody! read more

I got the tacos trio so it came on the queso taco which is basically a fried cheese crisp on top of the blue corn tortilla. personally I don't think it added any extra depth or flavor to the taco. however, my favorite taco was the chorizo one seemed to be exclusive to only if you order the trio. the Asad was my 2nd favorite and the chicken was my least favorite but still good. in top of that, you have to pair it with a bit of the mango habanero salsa. its spicy but so damn good. other things to bite is that they only have like 2 benches for seating outside thats first come first serve and they dont really have any free water available (bottled only). all the servers and staff were really nice but I do agree with other posts that the music is just way too loud read more

Friend wanted to try this place out because it's Bad Bunny's favorite taco place. I came here 40 min before opening. They open at 12pm. I was first in line but many people started showing up near noon. Although there's long line, it goes by super quick. It opens at 12pm but they let us in at like 12:05pm. They didn't open at 12:00pm as stated on sign. Their menu is super limited, like 3-4 meats, and some vegetarian option. I personally would like more meat option, like beef tongue, fish, etc. Their tacos are large and also pricey. $4.50 per regular taco and $5.50 per taco if it has cheese. I got 3 asada, and 2 pork. The asada tasted the best, I would only get asada next time. Their sauces are on a separate counter, and there's plenty of options. We were visiting and wanted to get tacos in the Pasadena area and we were excited to come across Villa's Tacos! We came on a Friday afternoon and there was a short line but it moves fast. There's only a couple tables outside available for seating so it's more of a take-out spot IMO. The menu is pretty straightforward. You have three options for the base- a standard taco, queso taco (taco with cheese), and a mulita. If you don't have a huge appetite, two tacos is enough! I got the steak taco and the chorizo queso taco. Honestly I can't really tell too much of a difference between the taco and the queso taco! The meat and the toppings are already so flavorful, it doesn't make a huge difference. They're famous for their blue corn tortillas and I loved how sturdy it is! Even though there's a lot piled on, it never broke or got soggy. The steak was good, but the chorizo was really flavorful and was my favorite! I heard about this place on two different occasions but the main one was during this year's halftime show with BB. Ive been wanting to come here for much longer than that but didnt know how close it was to the metro station in Highland Park. Just three blocks and youre in a parking lot mini mall, and there it is on the corner. They have a few tables outside and basically you walk in and its a small place just to order and grab some salsa for your food. This spot is very unique, and the first time I've had fresh blue corn tortilla tacos. I chose one regular carne asada and two queso of the same. My wife got one chorizo and one nopal. They add cilanto and onion to the tacos and you chose the salsa. We went with the green and its hot but enjoyable. They also tossed a couple slices of raddish on our plates, and to drink we shared a large container of fresh strawberry lemonade. These tacos were damn good. The best I have ever had. Now i know why so many celebs (like Ramy Youseff) come here for the food. They have good taste. I hope one day, I get a place like this where i live. It would be a massive competitor in Long Beach. I've heard about Villa's Tacos for a while, so I finally made my way over to see what all the talk was about. I went with the trio, which gives you three different tacos for around $19. When they handed them to me, my first thought was, what the heck am I looking at? They serve the tacos open and completely loaded, so you almost can't tell what's underneath everything until you pick one up. These things were packed with meat, onions, cilantro, cheese, crema and all kinds of flavor. The tortillas were probably what stood out the most. They had this crispy cheese around the outside that gave every bite a great crunch and a blue tortilla that's soft. Once you fold everything together, it gets pretty messy, but it was surprisingly really good and very flavorful. For around six bucks a taco, I really can't complain, especially considering how much they put on them. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to drive all the way back to Highland Park just for these, but I'm glad I finally tried Villa's Tacos. Definitely a unique taco experience. read more

Villa's Tacos is definitely one of the highlights in LA! This location is in a strip mall with some outdoor seating, perfect for a great taco meal. The tacos here are so flavorful, and getting them with the melted cheese (queso taco) is an absolute must. I love the asada and the chorizo the best. The meats are cooked so well and are always so juicy with a nice bit of char too. The tortillas and the salsas/guac also pack so much flavor, which makes these tacos truly irresistable. Although some may say it's a tad more expensive than a taco stand, you are definitely getting your money's worth with the quality of the meat, the superb cooking, and the generous amounts of guac and salsa on each taco. The wait is definitely worth it for the quality of tacos here! Don't expect a sit down place. There's only a few tables outside. On your way to order at the counter you see their salsa bar and fridge filled with a variety of sodas and housemade aguas frescas in plastic jugs. Salsas are not your average. I had never seen hibiscus pickled onions and was a little hesitant to try to but it definitely added a nice crunch and sweet factor to counter the fiery mango habanero salsa. Try all of them! I went with the Villa's Trio. 3 cheese tacos made from handmade blue corn tortillas that were topped with sour cream, onions, cilantro, and a small dollop of smashed avocado. I enjoyed the different options with the crispy cheese skirt. Ranchera asada, papas con chorizo, black bean con pollo. The black bean with chicken was the most unique and a great combo. They also have a vegan option with beans, potatoes, nopales, and soyrizo combos. Service was great even though they were busy. Parking was easy since there's a parking lot. Base taco: without cheese, but comes with onion, cilantro and guacamole Queso Taco: comes with onion, cilantro and guacamole + cheese and crema mexicana For and all-out experience, try their Mulita Taco: basically, it is everything in the questo taco, but the ingredients are sandwiched in 2 blue-corn tortilla shells    They have both vegetarian and meat options, so there are plenty of options to choose from for all types of eaters out there.   I got all of my tacos with the Queso base, which basically means the blue corn tortilla is coated with a layer of cheese that's then toasted to a crisp before adding on the toppings of choice   1. Ranchera Asada (4.5/5)  Skirt steak taco: The steak meat was tender and flavored well. The cheesy edge of the taco adds a nice crunch factor. Once you add all the sauces, it does get a bit soggy, so eat it quickly. Personally, I do not recommend adding strong sauces with this taco as it will mask the beefy flavor. On its own, I really enjoyed it, but once I added on the Mango habanero sauce, it was just pure heat, and the spice is all you can taste. It numbs out all other flavor   2. Pierna de Pollo (4/5) Chicken thigh taco: The chicken was a bit on the dry side, but when combined with the fresh guacamole and salsa, it was still quite decent. Their hibiscus-pickled onions add a nice, refreshing texture and fruity tang.    3. Barbacoa (5/5) This was by far my favorite. 12-hour pit roasted meat, so you can imagine how much flavor it contains. It's served on Saturdays and Sundays only    They have the following salsas at the self-serve salsa bar... -Chulas Roasted Blend -Jiquilpan Salsa: a spicy, rustic, smokey sauce made with charred tomatoes, smoked chili & chopped radish  -Mango Habanero -Mango Pico de Gallo -Classic Verde -Classic Roja -Avocado   In their fridge, they have fresh juices (watermelon, strawberry lemonade, pineapple, Hibiscus, cucumber-lime) and drinks (Jarritos, 1L Liter Coca-cola bottles). Had to try the famous Villa's Tacos at Grand Central market. We visited on a Saturday around 7 pm and the line was about a half hour wait. There are tables right next to Villa's and people tend to eat and leave once they're done, so we found it pretty easy to find a spot to sit. We tried the quesatacos: chorizo con papa and ranchera. The ranchera was perfection. The meat was tender and had great flavor. The cheese was crispy on the edges and gooey in the middle. This one was my favorite. I wasn't impressed with the chorizo con papa quesataco. The flavor wasn't my favorite and I felt like there was more potato than chorizo. If you're indecisive, go with the ranchera. Their agua fresca de pepino y limon was good, however, I do wish they served it in more sustainable container. It was a very thick plastic container that I've seen other restaurants use for packing things like food or salsa, and it felt like I was wasting a lot of plastic. read more

Came here right when they opened, there were already two lines for people who've ordered and people waiting to order. Menu was pretty straight forward so I got 4 tacos: 2 ranchera asada, pollo, and chorizo. Took about 7 minutes to receive the order after placing. Sauce bar is self serve and is definitely worth checking out all their sauces. Food I am still married to street stall vendor tacos, but villas taco is definitely up there in terms of flavor. The tortillas are handmade so it's chewy, fluffy, not too hard. I'd rather prefer tortillas that are a little bit more stiff, as these didn't hold the toppings too well. Meats were smoky, flavorful, and textures were spot on. Guacamole was on all their tacos so that's a plus. Favorite salsas were mango habanero and Jiquilpan. Loved the tacos and the flavor. All components from the seasoning of the meat to the blue corn tortilla with the cheese crust, makes for an amazing bite. I got the combo plate and it was a good variety, I'd probably get that combo again. Line can be long and have a wait but it's worth it!! Parking can be tough and seating can be difficult as well. My favorite taco was the chicken and bean. I could actually taste the char on the chicken, and the black beans added a nice creamy, earthy flavor. The highlight, was how crispy the cheese was! The owner really hyped up the barbacoa taquitos, explaining that it's a farm-to-table weekend special and that the chef even went to Texcoco to learn how to make it. Unfortunately, the meat was kinda dry, and the tortilla was so hard that it scratched the roof of my mouth when I bit it. Dipped in the consommé, it was better, but it still wasn't enough to make me order it again. Okay, by now I've been here three or four times. Let's get into it. For starters the asada tacos are well seasoned, the tortilla is delicious and the condiments are fresh. The aguas frescas are tasty, so far I've had the cucumber limon, sandia and the Jamaica. The arroz con leche for dessert is also a hit. Now why they did not get a fifth star: The parking is a nightmare, packed and narrow spaces. Not the fault of the establishment but a pain to deal with nonetheless. The line has gotten better in the sense that they have someone expediting the orders once they are ready. Yet it's still chaotic. The biggest pet peeve is when you are inside (the smallest space imaginable) trying to access the salsa bar in close quarters and that backs up easily as only a few people fit in that section to get the salsa. For for first timers, I'd recommend ordering the Villa's Trio which is what I got. Those come with the Ranchera Asada quesotaco as well as the Papas con Chorizo and Black Bean con Pollo quesotacos which are a trio exclusive. All the tacos were meaty, flavorful, and crispy. You honestly don't even need the side sauces since the tacos are already flavorful on their own. Great quality. I also got the Watermelon Agua Fresca which was refreshing, tasty, and sweet. Goes well with the tacos. I also got the Jamaica Agua Fresca, but that one was a bit too tart for my liking. The line can get long, so I would prepare to wait for up to an hour on weekends. There's ample free parking at the grocery store lot nearby. For seating and tables, it's limited and competitive. You just have to get lucky if a spot clears up as soon as you get your food. I also like how the restaurant handles crowd control. They allow a couple of people at a time to go inside, order, and get their condiments. You wait outside until they call you for your food. I like that it didn't feel crowded while I was getting my condiments. I highly recommend this spot and I will definitely be coming back. read more

Ordered the Villa's Trio, all of which came loaded with guac, cheese skirt, and protein on top of handmade blue corn tortillas. The tacos were messy to eat, but oh-so-good; I would recommend getting the salsa verde (mild spicy) and mango habanero (extra spicy; it packs a punch)! There's plenty of parking in the plaza (especially next to the grocery store), but I would recommend coming early before opening, as there'll likely be a decent line to get in. My friend and I came a little before noon on a Monday. The parking lot seemed full, and there were a few people just sitting on the benches outside waiting patiently for them to open. My friend and I went up to look at the menu and unintentionally started the line. Then this old lady cut us. Whatever. The shop is tiny. They allow 5 guests in at a time, so I suggest one person from the party orders and the other secures a table as tables are limited. There is no indoor seating, it's all outdoor. Both of us ordered the sampler trio and an agua fresca. She got the cucumber limon and I got sandia (watermelon). The tacos come loaded with meat, cilantro, onion, creama, and crumbled queso fresco, and guac. And each tortilla has a layer of melted cheese, that right there is *chef's kiss*. The tacos were so delicious. The meat was tender and flavorful, the portions were big. It's worth the hype. The line got longer as we were eating, so I suggest coming a little before opening if you aren't trying to stand in line for awhile, Now, you're probably wondering why if the tacos were that good, did I only get 4 stars. Well that's because they gave us two tiny little cups for salsa. And not two per taco sampler, but two tiny cups for 6 tacos. We had to ration it. 100% BEST LA TACOS! There is a reason why they were on the 2026 Superbowl Halftime show. I recently did a taco tour and well VILLAS HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK! It is just favor, beyond flavor, beyond flavor. Yes the tacos Trios both meat or vegan, or just one taco is more pricey than the usual taco truck, but there is a reason. The portions! They are generous. The box is made of paper, not styrofoam. Cheese, yes please, but with or without it is great. The tacos are hand made blue corn tortilla, real guacamole, the cheese. They don't skimp, and with their Jamaica pink onion toppings that are sweet.... it just all goes together so well. A fiesta in you mouth just like the party going on inside the store. I do worry about the people cooking and working there. I hope they are wearing ear plugs or hearing protection because it is LOUD! Be prepared. The line goes fast, it is worth the wait. We finally tried Villa's Tacos and they did not disappoint. These tacos are cheesy, saucy, and messy in the best way. The blue corn tortillas with that crispy cheese crust... so good. We got the trio and honestly that's the move for first timers. Everything was super flavorful and filling. Only thing--be ready to wait! 5 STARS. Villa's Tacos is arguably the best taco shop in all of LA. The ranchera asada and chorizo de puerco queso tacos are 100% the reason to pay a visit to this shop. The freshly made blue corn tortillas with the grilled cheese and meat make the tacos so epic. The salsas that they serve with these tacos are a perfect complement too. Don't be intimidated by the long line out the door - it goes quickly, and they are very efficient. Seating space is a little limited at the picnic tables outside, but other than that, there is ample parking. Service has always been top notch and ultra-friendly. Soooo bomb. We got queso tacos, one of each meat. My favorite was the asada. They have a good salsa selection too. The watermelon agua fresca was sooo refreshing. The flan was nothing standout but it satisfied the craving. There was a line on a Friday night, but I think all in all we waited 25 min to order and get our food. There are also only a few tables to eat at out front but we were lucky to grab a table as someone was leaving. read more
