There are so many taco stands in LA, all of which are impressive, but few, if any, are serving such high-quality meat. I tried the rib-eye, wagyu chuck, and al pastor tacos, all of which were incredible. What I enjoyed the most is how the ribeye taco still maintains its "steak" texture and flavor. It's cut not too thin, where you can't really taste the beef, nor too thick, where the taco bite becomes too chewy. With the wagyu, it had the signature wagyu richness but without being overly heavy. Small details, ingredients (shoutout the hand made tortillas!!), and that smoky mesquite flavor make Asadero elite. This place is a must-try, and I can't wait to come back and see what the team has in store. read more

WORTH ALL THE HYPE! Sadly that also meant be prepared to wait in long line especially on peak dinner time, which was right at their opening time. We did come on Saturday which probably made it worse. Nothing fancy, it's basically occupying a spot on the Pavilion's parking lot at Hollywood. Quite limited chairs provided so it's not uncommon seeing people eating while standing or using their car's trunk. We got their crowd's favorite Ribeye and Flank Steak, both of which were indeed so so good in their own ways. Chunky juicy meats on top of the blue corn tortilla. Everything's cooked fresh to order and they didn't go complicated with sauce on top of your taco, which even made the meat more stand out, being so flavorful on its own. If you felt like us and wanna try something beyond beef, certainly go for their Al Pastor, which was also luscious and I'd definitely come back again for. Taco stand located in Hollywood (Vine and Melrose - or right on the edge of the Pavilions parking lot). I've been here at least twice during interesting time frame. The first time I came here was right before it blew up. The second time was after it got recognition and lines were getting along. They had to beef up their staff to keep the lines moving. The first time it was really chill vibe where there were only two other people or groups and it really felt like a good friend was cooking you some food at a carne asada. They just had run out of the ribeye my first visit so I got the arrachera flanks steak (Ruben recommended the flour tortilla for this) and a street taco with the clue corn heirloom tortilla. This was an excellent meal and Ruben was super hospitable. My second visit, the crowds had started coming. I came in on the later side, so the line wasn't too long. There was a lot more staff and it was organized. You had to order in one line and if you happen to order the ribeye (gaonera) taco then you would go over to the grill where Ruben was to pick it up. Otherwise, there was a separate team doing the other tacos and menu items. That ribeye taco was delicious. Just well prepared and great char flavor. I really enjoyed using the salsa bar as well. Asadero has a streamlined setup by the corner of Vine and Melrose. They are drawing from a mix of Hermosillo, CDMX, and Sonoran styles, to create something special. Place your order, take your ticket to the grill, and be prepared for some of the best beef tacos. Gaonera: The black Angus ribeye steak is thinly sliced and simply seasoned with salt. The taquero cooks it to order on a small mesquite charcoal grill to develop the wondrous smoke flavor. He also throws a soft, supple, Sonoran, flour tortilla on the grill for a hot minute or so. Most impressive of all, the singular slice of steak is flat and as big as the tortilla. It's cooked to medium and you really enjoy the beefy flavor, great marbling, and tender smoky meat. Top it with just some onions and the salsa cruda. Plus, the salsa bar makes me happy here with one of the fieriest green salsas around, which complements the meat well. The line took about 35 mins. Very friendly staff and I enjoyed hanging out in line with everyone. It makes it a little more social. Nice parking lot, tail gate vibe. The tacos were good. I had their signature rib eye and their chicken taco. I thought they tasted good. Game changer? No. Good tasting tacos, yes. Now, did I come down with food poisoning all day the next day? Yes I did. It was not pleasant. Can I say 100% it was these tacos. No. For lunch that day, I had a bowl at Tocaya. The billions of times I've eaten at Tocaya have I ever gotten food poisoning? Nope. If I had to wager I'd put my money on those rib eye tacos not being cooked long enough or some cross contamination. I don't know what the culprit is but that's just the chance you take sometimes. Just watch your rib eyes when they're cooking them. It won't hurt to ask them to fire them a little longer. Will I be back? Probably not and not because of the possible food poisoning. The ribeye taco is one of their specialties that they grill over charcoal but it's $7.50 for a taco. The ribeye meat was not anything extraordinary but I liked the texture of the tortilla because it was slightly chewy. Anyways at this price point I needed the taco to blow my mind and unfortunately I've had better tacos with the smoky flavor for way cheaper in Austin TX (Taqueria de Diez). However, I will say the carne asada ($3) is actually phenomenal and worth coming for. They use blue corn tortillas which adds more complexity to the flavor and the asada is very juicy. Toppings selection is very good, pickled onion is a must and the chili oil they have surprisingly works! There is a line here so be prepared to wait. They do need to get rid of the tip option, a bit outrageous to ask for 18-25% tip at a street stand with no sit down area or much overhead cost compared to brick and mortar. read more

Bomb taco spot. Got the al pastor, flank steak, and ribeye and liked them best to last in that order. Super flavorful and the salsas are so yummy. We got there at 5:40pm on a Thursday and after waiting in the line, had our order in by 6pm. If you order the thinly sliced ribeye, you go to the guy at the grill on the other end and give him your little red ticket. Then you wait for your name to be called for the al pastor and flank steak. Obviously there are other things you can get but those were my options for those particular tacos. The flank steak on the menu says you can get them cooked from blue to well done. I would've like blue but they were only doing medium well when I went. Still good though. The homemade tortillas are so good and I like the Wagyu tallow flour ones more. Also if you order an agua fresca (they come in those tall pho broth containers!), ask for it from the person cashier standing by the cooler. I don't often leave Yelp reviews, but I felt it was important to share my experience given the number of reviews this taco stand received had been before Infatuation LA's recent review. On Sunday, June 7th, I went after seeing the recommendation from Infatuation. I expected a long line because of the hype, but the experience was extremely disorganized from start to finish. The cashier was only taking a maximum of four orders at a time and would not take any additional orders until those were fully completed. He also asked customers to calculate their own totals because he said he could not do the math. At one point, while we were still waiting, he left the line unattended to go grocery shopping, which was honestly unbelievable. By the time we got to order, nearly three hours had passed. Only then were we told that credit cards were not accepted and that it was cash or Zelle only, even though their menu explicitly showed credit cards and Square as payment options. Thankfully, a friend had Zelle and was able to cover our group. After paying, our order took about another 15 minutes. What made the situation even more frustrating was that they did not tell us they were out of onions, cilantro, and salsa until after we had already paid. Other customers were also told only after waiting for hours that their meat of choice was unavailable. That should have been communicated to people in line so they could decide whether it was still worth waiting. The lack of preparation was also clear. They were cutting meats, vegetables, and other ingredients on the spot instead of having basic prep done ahead of time, which made the process even slower. Despite all of this, I still tried to give them some grace because I understand they may be dealing with new attention after the guide's review. However, the next morning I woke up with what appeared to be food poisoning, which I have never experienced from a taco stand before. That ultimately solidified my decision not to return. I cannot in good faith recommend this taco stand. Los Angeles has too many incredible taco options to justify a three-hour wait, poor communication, disorganization, missing ingredients, and a bad experience afterward. read more

They take the next person in lines order, do that order then restart the process instead of cooking consistently and for the giant crowd outside. It's like they take one person as a sit down customer then do a whole thing for that one person and restart with the next. Literally hours and hours for mediocre food. Absolutely avoid this nightmare if you can there is literally no reason absolutely no reason to come here or wait or be honestly disrespected by the sloths behind the counter. It got so unbearable that the women behind me had to pour vodka from her car into her soda just to stay in line. People literally had to turn to alcohol due to this places unprofessionality. I wish I could give 0 stars. This place ruined my day and subsequent night lol. I just can't stress enough how inefficient and mediocre it is!! I think some tik tok made it famous and it did not show out.
