The service was impeccable--everyone was attentive, friendly, and made the whole experience feel special. We had to get the Michelada Oysters again because I had been craving them since our last visit. They were just as amazing as I remembered--fresh, perfectly seasoned, and seriously addicting. For Dine LA, I started with the Tostada Campechana, which was like an elevated ceviche with scallops, tuna, yellowtail, avocado, and a citrus sesame sauce. Everything tasted super fresh and the citrus gave it the perfect balance. The Bone Marrow Mole was rich, flavorful, and came with a generous portion and toast. For my main course, I had the skirt steak, which was cooked perfectly--tender, well-seasoned, and delicious with the green sauce. The homemade tortillas were amazing too. We ended with the Dulce de Leche Panna Cotta, and it was the perfect finish--creamy, smooth, not overly sweet, and so good we practically cleaned the plate. After watching a show at the Pantages Theatre we decided to grab dinner here. Unfortunately they're not open until 530 (at least Saturday night anyway). The vibes entering the restaurant were a bit lukewarm but at least the hostess when we left brought some good energy. If you're sensitive to smells keep in mind they have sage burning near the bar/bathroom entrance. We ordered the short rib plate and the whole fish dish. The short rib was nice and tender and rookie mistake, eating the tortilla underneath the meat actually tasted way better. My husband loved the au jus (it was kinda sweet) and I loved the pickled onions and red and green salsa. I was a little skeptical thinking we could share it all but it was more than enough food. Now the branzino...unfortunately it was pretty uncooked but disguised well by the salsas. The arugula salad was delicious and refreshing. The potato taquitos were actually quite spicy but delicious. They were also generous with the guacamole. Now the guacamole on the taquitos seemed to be different than the side (which we ordered) but the side was also yummy. The tortilla chips were pretty basic and unimpressive unfortunately. I didn't see a dessert menu so I can't speak to that which is pretty unfortunate as I love me a good dessert lol. The drinks looked amazing though but unfortunately I didn't get one so can't speak to that. I had to google a lot of the ingredients though out of curiosity lol. Let me start off with this review is long overdue. I went during DineLA week (Jan 2026). The ambiance and space was beautiful. It really felt like I transported to Tulum or some paradise. Service was good, attentive. The food however..my friend and I found it very salty all around. I had to balance the saltiness with water!! I was especially excited for the michelda oysters but all I tasted was tajin. I think the star of the show was the churro. It was fabulous, give me 10 more. I really wanted to give this place 5 stars because the service was exceptional and several of the dishes were absolutely divine. We ordered the Michelada oysters, prawn ceviche, ribeye, and corn esquites. We also had several cocktails, including the Mexspresso Martini and another drink with Cenote in the name that were ok. The pricing is in line with what I'd expect for this type of restaurant. The only reason I'm giving 4 instead of 5 stars is the ribeye. It was honestly a huge disappointment. The cut wasn't great, there was no sear, it was underseasoned, and overall it just fell flat. It was so chewy my jaw got tired after 2 pieces and we left half untouched. I know this isn't a steakhouse, but it was probably one of the weakest ribeyes I've had. My husband grills ribeye for me at least once a week on our little backyard grill, and it's consistently better. Based on how incredible everything else was, I was expecting a much more elevated steak. That said, the Michelada oysters were absolutely out of this world. The esquites were perfect, the salsas were delicious, and while the tortillas arrived a little cold, you could tell they were freshly made. The service was truly outstanding. Our server, Josh (if I remembered his name correctly), was excellent. He knew the menu inside and out, gave great recommendations, checked on us often without being intrusive, and matched the fun, energetic vibe of the restaurant. I think I've found my new favorite Mexican restaurant. I would have this all the time if I could! First off, the restaurant is gorgeous. The entrance makes you feel like you're walking into a new world. The dining area is full of greenery and beautiful plants with overhanging lights. It was a Friday night so a DJ was present and playing fun music. The atmosphere made me feel like I was at a fun restaurant in Mexico. Our waiter Édouard was very attentive. He knew when and when to not check up on us. He recommended the Short Ribs and that's what I decided to order. My partner ordered the chicken dish. Both plates of food were beautifully presented. Especially my short ribs. It was a little pricy but the food was worth every penny! The short ribs were so tender and juicy. It would literally melt in my mouth. The tortillas were house-made corn tortillas that were so fluffy and delicious. The sauces the food came with added to the experience and so did the Au Jus. We also tried the shrimp tacos and they were crunchy and delicious. Basically, every dish was incredible. For dessert, we ordered the Chocolate Trea Leches and the Churros with dipping sauce. Guess what? Both were incredible. What an amazing dining experience. The music, the atmosphere, the food, the service all added up to THE most incredible Mexican dinner I've ever had. Again it is a little pricey but the food was really good I'm not going to lie I really did enjoy the flavors. The drinks were pretty great too, good amount of alcohol not too sweet. The lights, plants and music will have you forgetting you're in the middle of Hollywood and make you think you're on vacation. The vibes here are immaculate and the experience is definitely one you won't forget. The music they play is a jungle house theme which I personally love and enjoy. My favorite dish to order is the Recardo Negro Short Rib. It feeds 2 people sometimes even 3 depending how many appetizers you get. The Short Rib comes with this suace you put on top that makes the whole dish well put together. The meat is extremely tender and juicy and full of flavor. Every bite just makes you want more. The corn huarache is so soft and easy to cut into and adds so much flavor to the meat when eaten together. My favorite appetizer to order are the potato taquitos as it is served with this avocado salsa that is so fresh and lemony. As well as the papas bravas that come with this tasty, mouthwatering sauce on top. Very good vibes and a great place to come eat or just get drinks (if they allow that). We had two wonderful experiences here. We first came for dinner and then for brunch. Both experiences were great. The restaurant is very trendy and has a great vibe. They have indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor seating was limited, but don't worry, there are plenty of strong heaters outside. We never felt cold. The restaurant is set among lots of trees and shrubbery. You get the feeling like you are dining in the jungle. The entrance to the restaurant is on the side of the Volume Hotel. Look for a tunnel type entrance. Once past the tunnel you are greeted by a host/hostess desk. There are plenty of large tables so it's good for couple dining or group dining. The cuisine is Yucatán. The restaurant offers some really fun drinks. I got the colada, it's not frozen. It had great tropical flavors. My husband got an aromatic drink with some herbs that were lit on fire to season the drink. For our dinner we got the chips and guacamole and the Kanpachi Crudo. Don't feel shy asking for more chips, the guac was great! The chips were well salted too. The crudo was a nice light and fresh dish. I liked the flavors. For main dishes we got the lamb shank and the short rib. Oh wow! Both dishes were great. The lamb was like a stew. The meat was just falling off the bone. I'm not usually a fan of shank, but this dish was amazing!!! I loved the handmade tortillas that came with it, but wish there was more of them. You may want to just ask for a huge spoon to drink up all the curry. The short rib was also amazing. It was presented similar to a flatbread and came with a couple of different salsas. Believe it or not, we came back the next day for brunch. This was a larger group. Everything, again, was delicious. We got a variety of dishes. I remember a few avocado toasts, yucca fritas, flan brûlée pancakes, breakfast burritos, and short rib engrosses. Everything was a hit. I tried the flan pancakes, avocado toasts, and yucca frita. The reason for 1 star is a potentially serious health issue. SAGE BURNING If you are asthmatic, have COPD, or have any type of respiratory illness where smoke is a determent to your health, this is not good for you. Or if you have smoke or sage allergies. I couldn't even stay in the front because I was having a difficult time breathing. Even the day after, the smell is still in my nose and my throat is sore. It was our first time there and unfortunately with them burning this smoke so throughout, we can't go back. I wasn't able to really enjoy my dinner and ended up taking most of it home. It was my first time trying prawns, while the restaurant did a very great job seasoning and presentation, the texture of them are not for me. Still a very delicious meal, I could have drank whatever sauce they served it with. He ordered for his main the short rib and for myself I decided to do the barracoa mushrooms. They serve it to you as a build your own taco plate. It was a lot of food, I ate leftovers twice from my meal. I ordered the Spanish red to drink and for myself hubs, he drank the pina colada.
