Ka'teen is a nice little spot to stop by for a drink. It's intimate and have plenty of seating for private and intimate get together and have seats all around the bar. We made a pit stop here before going to another spot, but this bar is definitely one of my favorites. Tucked in between a couple of clubs, it's a perfect for a little reset. The staff is here super attentive and friendly. My favorite cocktail of the night was the Luna verde. A little sweet and refreshing drink to get the night going

I LOVE how Ka'teen is decorated! Super cute seating inside and outside you can't go wrong with where you're seated. They also had a show which was a surprise and super cool (I went on a Saturday night). The server was super sweet and attentive and when I told them I'm gluten-free they brought me a separate menu that highlighted what on the menu was GF. We got a the ceviche, potato taquitos, the steak, papas brava and triples. EVERYTHING was super good! We finished it off with some churros (not gf). Overall super great vibes and can't wait to go back!

Went here for the first time last Friday with a group of six to celebrate my friend! The place itself is gorgeous, especially if you get a nice corner table against the plants. Very good vibes and a great place to come eat or just get drinks (if they allow that). I will say they were super extra about the reservation and texted us to confirm it soooo many times (three times the day of the reservation), which got a little weird and annoying. Regardless, the drinks were delicious - I got some spicy margarita adjacent drink and it was delicious. I loved the guacamole, the enchiladas, short rib tacos, and the patatas bravas (a must).

I honestly would love to rate every dish a ten! I could tell the food would have been great if it didn't taste so salty. You can tell the salsa would have been great, but it had so much salt. I go to restaurants left and right where most foods probably are full of salt, but to actually taste it where you can't enjoy the food! Service was good though. Our server was so nice and attentive. The cooks that came out were very nice. Loved the layout! Oh and I can't forget the drinks! Great drinks!!

Came with friends. It's pretty the lights are lovely the music is a jungle house vibe, the service outstanding and the food was absolutely awesome. We ordered the short rib the branzino the papas bravas the corn (so good) and shrimps. We ordered a lot! All of it was super yummy!

We walked into the Yucatan Peninsula, I mean Ka'teen', for our 5th year Anniversary. It was recommended by a friend of mine. The atmosphere was wonderful, it felt like we were in a romantic jungle. The service was 5 stars and the food was incredible. I recommend the Ka margarita but all the drinks we had were great. I will be back.

Bf and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary and the inside was so so pretty! Tried calling maybe 5-8 different times about our reservation but no one answered each time ( different days AND at different times of the day). Other than that, our server was so sweet and nice. Valet parking Food was good but not out of this world good. If anything I highly recommend the fish! Very yummy :)

Worst tres leches I've ever had. It was bitter and dry. Had no milk! Had some fruit and some sort of nuts on top. Ambience was great! Great music! Service was ok.

Finally went to this pretty spot! The ambiance is so cute so definitely ig friendly :) I'm a very basic person when it comes to food so I did order the most fattening things - guacamole, queso fundido, potato taqueria, and the chicken. I REALLY enjoyed the guac and I know people say it's hard to mess up but it can be messed up! Haha everything was very flavorful for sure and the service was very quick as well! Nice spot to catch up with friends and the drinks were good too

So we all ended up at Ka'teen for Patrick's birthday and we were treated as VIP. The food was delicious & plated nicely & colorfully. Ambiance was warm trendy & beautiful. I will be leaving my job as a nurse practitioner starting this month. I'm very sad but with my new title position I won't be able to carry on with my duties. I will come back to it in a year. Thank you for all your support. Have a blessed day.

What a fantastic restaurant. The ambiance is what makes this place. However the food was pretty good, the shrimp was my favorite. The service was great. Will defiantly go back. I wish they were open for Saturday brunch also.

This place is a hidden gem honestly. Located off a city street in La once you come in the doors it's like you stepped into Tulum. Beautiful ambiance with plants from floor to roof. Beautifully lit bar with a great vibe. We got two drinks and Oysters and truly a 10/10.. drinks were perfectly crafted and service was excellent and the oysters with the salsa the have was great! Must see if you are in the area!

I dined at Ka'teen and ordered the short rib, which was flavorful and well prepared...definitely the highlight of the meal. The atmosphere is lively and the space is beautifully designed. That said, the service could use some improvement. It felt a bit inattentive and slower than expected, which took away from the overall experience. With more consistent service, this spot could be really great.

    Ask the Community - Ka'teen

    Do they accept American Express?

Are kids allowed? Asking for a friend

Entering the restaurant is a bar / lounge area. I have never seen kids there. I would call and ask

Are walk ins allowed to just sit at the bar and drink?

How is the outdoor patio seating?

There are dining tables with a covered roof, for in the open air - tables with bench seating, booth style, and coffee table style with fire pits in the center. There are lots of heating lamps around for the cold.

How noisy is the restaurant? Do they play music so loud you can't talk to your friends?

Yes, it's obnoxiously loud and hard to hear, especially if you're sitting next to any of the speakers. We had a difficult time talking to each other.

    Is brunch kid friendly?

In my opinion yes, however, the food choices may not be... depending on the child

Is it pricey as the menu has no prices listed and I want to go for a business dinner?

I'd say mid pricing. Yes, parking is valet in that area. The cocktails on pricier side. Food not as much. It's Hollywood. My daughter treated for my Bday. 2 of us. 2 appetizers, 2 cocktails, 2 mains, dessert & coffee about $250 with tip.

Is there a strict dress code or is casual ok?

No dress code. But it's upscale. Upscale casual would be best.

    Do they have happy hour?

I do not think they do but call to confirm.

    Is there parking?

    No parking lot...but valet available.

Do they take walk ins or is it reservation only?

We had a reservation when we went, this place gets very busy so I would recommend a reservation.

Do they have a bar area for just to chill and have drinks? And do you need reservations for the bar?

Yes they have a bar area. I don't think you need a reservation

Is there a minimum fee per person on a party of 10+?

Hi there... I would definitely call them if you have a +10 party they do have some very nice tables to accommodate you.

Is the most we can reserve a table for up to 11 people (per website) ? Or anything larger would we have to call? Planning a birthday celebration! :)

I would personally try to go there and reserve if you have more than they allow on the website. They usually do not pick up the phone. Hopefully they will.

Is it loud on the patio and not a good location for conversation?

Yes it is loud on the patio. Could hardly hear my bf across from me.

Does the restaurant allow a small dog for their outdoor tables? (I called the restaurant several times but they don't answer phone calls and didn't respond to my email either).

Not sure but you can call and ask them?

    Proof of vaccination needed?

It's all outside so not needed.

    Does this place play music?

    Yes! Very loudly.

All dishes are carefully crafted with its colorful details, and its simple but bold flavors prepared for you through an open kitchen. This place gets busy the minute they open their doors so make reservations prior. 1. Korean Aguachile: fresh tilefish sashimi with finely sliced cucumber and white floral decor simmered in ice cold kimchee broth they pour at the table. Soooo good. Must order. 2. Soy Marinade Blue Prawn: My favorite dish of the night. Huge raw blue prawns (head attached) marinaded with soy sauce. Served with barley rice topped with Ssam jang (type of bean paste sauce), and seaweed paper. You wrap all ingredients in the seaweed paper to make a hand roll. Soooooo delicious. Can't walk out without trying this. 3. Beef short ribs: good but nothing unique in its flavoring . Beef steak(medium rare and super tender) that's lightly marinaded/glazed (so not overly sweet) with kbbq/short rib sauce. This is one of their fan favorites so I suggest you try it.. 4. Chilled Acorn Noodles: chewy cOLD noodles made with acorn (just like the acorn jelly side dish we eat). The noodles are seasoned with Korean Cho-go-chu-jang (Gochujang paste), crispy cucumber slices, loads of dried seaweed flakes, and perilla oil. And you just mix them all together. Sooo good and paired well with the short ribs. Incredible. 5. Bluefin tuna and trout Bibimbop: like a poke bowl but so much better. Rice at the bottom with loads of lettuce strips, bluefin tuna sashimi, radish slices, and cavier. Seasoned with Korean Cho-go-chu jang (Gochujang paste with a twist of vinegar). Very good as well. For drinks we tried the shikhye slush (shikhye is a Korean sweet rice drink dessert). They used a slushy shikhye base with warm cinnamon and ginger spices and pisco for a kick. Also tried the Sujinggwa manhattan which is sujunggwa (traditional Korean cinnamon ginger dessert tea served cold) and a single malt. This was fabulous. Overall fantastic experience. Fantastic food, cool ambiance's. And great service. Highly highly recommend this place!

Tables looked available around 5pm though so walk-ins could be possible. Ambiance: Outside was nice and inside looked dimly lit and romantic. We were seated promptly and service was good. Food: Rice slushy had a strangely strong cinnamon-like taste to it that traditional rice punch doesn't have which was so overpowering, it made it difficult to go back for more sips. Oysters - good though small, enjoyed the kelp mignonette Korean Aguachile - Delicate tilefish completely overwhelmed by cold kimchi broth with actual icy slush in it and small amounts of fish Steak Tartare - The hot stone bowl seemed to defeat the purpose of a tartare, as it cooked the steak once mixed. The perilla leaves were also cut in large strips relative to the beef. Chilled Acorn Noodle - The perilla oil was nonexistent in flavor though the dish didn't need it and was good without. Overall, portions were small for the price and dishes weren't well-executed so despite being excited for more Korean options in West LA, I'd much rather make the drive to Koreatown for better portions, prices, and flavors.

My husband and I didn't have a reservation, but we were able to put our name in and got seated about an hour or so later. I was amazed as soon as I walked in the door! It's just floor to ceiling decorated with everything tiki. So many fun details and even interactive elements that turn on when a particular drink was ordered. That was probably my favorite part honestly. We ordered the Tiki Diablo, which is a large tiki drink with a flaming volcano. And yes it does have an interactive element. It was really good. Very fruity and strong, but not overly so. Service was excellent. Our waitress was on it and even waited to make sure my husband was back from the bathroom before lighting our drink on fire. We didn't try any food this time, but a lot of people were ordering the Hawaiian pizza. Do with that what you may. Will definitely be back ti try more drinks and food. I had placed a phone order, for pick up; upon arrival, I found the service was prompt. I saw my food ready to go, just past the main walk-in area. Almost immediately after that, I was taken care of by the host and on my way. I've been waiting to try this place for ages so on the drive back to work I was excited to steal a piece of meat from the bag. Initial bite flavor was good, meat was tender just a bit on the chewy side.. I wasn't bothered by it too much as I'd have to leave it in an oven warmer at work. Trying to keep food warm, in doing so, I knew there'd be only two possible outcomes, melting tender or either tough & dry. So, the dish of meat and rice sat in the warmer for almost an hour hour and a half. The downhill slope.... Set the "meat " on the veggies and began to eat. Meat after meat, I kept experiencing the same exact texture. It was the same exact rubbery chew, I initially tasted. Each and every piece was the same exact flavor. There was no peak, there was no pitfall. If you cook or grill, you know this is a red flag. Normally, consistency would be a good thing, a Master craftsman type experience, but this was NOT it. As go on, I get the sinking feeling, this can't be real meat. I lock in, the deeper I dig, each piece looks the same, broken apart the same, tastes the same, just various shapes. They can call me crazy for this one - I'll stand by it. Something is not right here. I'm not even going to throw it away. I'm going to study it for the next few days and post an updated review.
