I always get treated nicely here, but today was the exception. It was an empty restaurant. I walked in and grabbed the menu in front of the cashier I had just opened it to check out their stuff and the cashier immediately asked me what I wanted. I told her and continued looking she asked me immediately what else. I told her to give me a sec and after I ordered a fresh pressed juice she just walked away from the cashier and didn't come back so I sat down to wait for my food and drink. Weird. Anyways the food here is good. Very authentic good tasting Mexican dishes.

Chilaquiles and 2 Fried Eggs

This review is for the two visits I made in one week the food and service was so good. Had the burrito ranchero, 12/10! Burrito was stuffed with asada, cheesy and sauced down! So tasty. Will be having again! Came back a different morning to try the chilaquiles which were on special. These were the perfect texture of crispy and saucy and the eggs cooked to perfection. A mild spiciness but not too much. 8-11am they have chilaquiles plate on special 8.99 which is a great value. Horchata was very refreshing! The señora in the back knows what's up, the food is fresh and so yummy! Gentleman who served the food was very kind and attentive. My new favorite Mexican spot in Glendale, and I've tried most of them.

I've eaten here three different times and each time the food has been so yummy and the service impeccable! It's walking distance from my house and I love bringing friends with me. Please come support this business. I'll be back next week

Diet Coke, chips and super hot red chili

Driving home from Costco and in need of good, hearty sustenance, i spied Ana's out of the corner of my eye on South Central and dropped in for one of their patented big bowls of Caldo (soup). I am served a basket of freshly fried and still warm chips and i requested a bowl of their Hot salsa: which i devoured before being served the soup. The chips needed a good dousing of salt before being served but the salsa was indeed spicy and made up for this small lapse. A soup needs a tasty well made, savory broth on which to build a good .soup. And Ana's chicken broth is always first rate brimming with Chicken and vegetable flavor which can only develop after hours of simmering. Into this excellent broth, Ana adds big chunks of chicken both dark and light meat and a whole chicken leg. The vegetables today are carrots, zucchini, potatoes and cabbage: all are al dente and none over cooked nor old tasting. The whole bowl of soup is very, very good and dense with flavor and proper seasoning: salt, pepper, dried mexican oregano and cumin. It really is a fine bowl of soup and very satisfying to eat. Ana also serves the soup with sides of a small chopped white onion and cilantro mix, a small bowl of rice and a trio of hand made corn tortillas with which i used to made an impromptu taco of soup chicken rice and onion and a glop of salsa. The portion is Big and i brought a container home along with a couple of the tortillas. So far i have never had anything but caldo and chips here but i intend to remedy this situation very soon as they have an extensive menu. Service is quick, polite and discrete. Prices are fair for what you get. I will be back. Cheers!

Carne Asada Torta: My niece ate it all and she always leaves some food behind but not this time. 10/10 Chili Verde: Not 100% sure what my nephew got but he says it was so good and insisted on me leaving more than 18% tip. He liked that it was spicy. 10/10 Caldo De Pollo: Honesty it was incredible and although It was hot outside I still felt like soup. It made my insides feel great. 10/10

As soon as I walked into this little hidden gem in the suburb of Glendale, located in the southeastern San Fernando Valley, you can instantly feel the warm, welcoming environment this family owned restaurant has to offer! I was greeted by Abraham, and was promptly offered chips and salsa (made fresh daily!) The chips were crisp and tasty, while the salsa had a bold flavor you only find in homemade salsa. I eventually ordered the Steak Picado plate which comes with chunks of lean beef that has been sauteed in butter with bell peppers, onions, tomatoes and their special house seasoning, along with a side of rice and beans. The portion was the right size, and every bite was rich with flavor! I felt like I was eating a scrumptious, home-cooked meal at my abuelita's! For my drink I had an agua fresca de mango y piña, which is also made fresh daily! It was a treat to my taste buds as it was downright delicious! I concluded my eating adventure with a dessert. Homemade flan. The portion was generous and the flavor even moreso. I totally recommend this place to anyone seeking casera-style Mexican cuisine! Nothing was disappointing, and I'll definitely be back to try out their other menu options!

Asada Burrito with green sauce

Decided to try this lace after driving by a few times and noticing it. There's been a few places here that haven't made it so wanted to see if this one had what it takes to make it. Glendale has become one of those places where there is extremely expensive Mexican places and just standard taco stands and Anna's seems to fit right in the middle. You walk in and you get the feel it's a taco joint where you order and wait and take things to go but when we went it was a full service experience. Walked up to the counter where the gentlemen behind it said to sit anywhere and brought us menus. He was very attentive and although busy was still eager to help. Had a carne asada burrito wet style with green sauce. Pretty good size and the meat was seasoned perfectly. 4/5 Had another combo with the asada burrito and red sauce. Rice and beans were ok. Nothing spectacular but ok. 4/5 Ordered a cheese enchilada ala cart. Again, good but you really can't mess that up. Salsa roja was tasty 4/5. Lastly was a quesadilla. Pretty good size and comes with guacamole and sour cream. Overall a decent joint. No over the top items and a good portion to price ratio.

Happy Mother's Day 2020

Since we are in the COVID-19 pandemic days we could only order take out. It was Mother's Day and it's not worth spending a lot of money on fine dining so we can eat it on the curb. I ordered a Asada Torta with everything, Bean & Cheese burrito, and a side of Mexican style rice and ate the food in my Kia Rio. The food and the added hot salsa was very good and we enjoyed the food. The meat in my torta was kind of dry but okay but I still liked the overall flavor.

Idk what that is...

My party of seven had reservations for a Friday night and were seated right away. The chips were…read morecomplimentary, but beware that the guacamole is so tax. It was still good and the presentation was honestly very artistic. As it darkened outside, the overhead lights dimmed inside the restaurant and their colored lights grew stronger! We ordered several frozen margaritas and they were generous sizes for a decent price, but were very melted by the time they were served. They were also a bit bland: not very tart, sweet, or strong. I shared a plate of the flautas (two steak / two chicken) and three chicken enchiladas, which both came with rice and beans. Everything was made well and the flautas were super crunchy, so that was a huge plus! It was enough to have plenty of leftovers if you're not too hungry. We were celebrating a graduation and didn't know there was a cake holding fee of $15, which I personally feel is on the pricier end. The food service was a bit slow, but we all got our food around the same time. Our servers were also very attentive and accommodating. It's genuinely a nice place to have dinner if you're at the Americana at Brand.

Ok. Don't let those good drinks you got at the bar that one time fool you. I should have "listened"…read moreto all those other reviews. The food is not good. There was little to no seasoning. The food came out tepid at best and then left a greasy taste in your mouth. The flautas were weirdly covered by excess shredded lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream (to cover up the ridiculously thick tortillas covering the tasteless meats inside, no doubt). The carnitas were lacking in flavor. The drinks bought to the table lacked the flare (and the flavor) of those we had at the bar. The space itself, is weirdly expansive. The mirrored ceiling makes the empty coldness even worse. Top tip, don't go and wait for a table - any table - anywhere else at the Americana.
