This place was such a fun surprise! The location was easy to find, although parking in the front isn't ideal we made it work. When we walked in we were greeted immediately with a welcoming smile. We ordered a torta and the carne asada fries. The serving was so generous and the food was so flavorful. There's not much seating aside from a few stools and a high top area as it's more of a pickup spot. But either way I would recommend it. The only reason I didn't give it the five stars is because I felt like the torta bread was just a little dry. But the rest was flavorful and enjoyable.

Randomly picked up on this place, the House Special Burrito is really good (menu photo for contents). The chipotle aioli sauce added so much flavor to the burrito and has a nice little kick to it. The burrito comes in a big size, so it makes up for the price of the burrito a little bit. The service was really nice and the place is on the side of a street, so you can park at the bakery across or side street. Definitely would love to come back and try other items.

I got the breakfast burrito with bacon and me and my friend shared the carne asada fries and she got the elote. The breakfast burrito is HUGE it was really good. I enjoyed it. The hot sauce was not poppin. I need that roja hot sauce LOL. Carne asada fries were also very good. Something about using nacho cheese makes it that much better. We came here after a hike so the food really hit the spot. It was really expensive for everything tho. Our total was like $50. Crazy!!!!!

I found street parking for this location. The parking lot directly behind this place does not allow parking for Brick and Flour. The door said PULL, but it went the other direction instead and the person who was behind the door pulled towards them as we were entering the establishment. You order the food first and they will call your name when the order is ready. As we were waiting for our food, there was a lot of wind coming from the open door. I tried to close the door to stay warm, but I think the door was broken because it wouldn't remain closed. Also, as we were waiting, we noticed bugs flying in from the door and going to the window (saw a big mosquito in front of where I was and some little gnats of some sort). Due to the door remaining opened, I was really cold and couldn't be comfortable. Even another lady sitting next to us tried shutting it, couldn't do it, so she moved to another spot while waiting for her food. There really wasn't any tables for you to enjoy your food. We went there hoping to eat there and celebrate a birthday. There were a few counter spots with chairs, that maybe 10 people at most can sit and eat. I feel like the spots that were available are meant for people to sit and wait for their food to be ready and takeaway. I don't consider this place as a sit down restaurant. They do have some room in the front that they can add a few tables and chairs for guests to sit down and eat. Their food was a little pricy for what it was. However, the quesadilla that I ordered wasn't bad for the size I got. They have a regular size and a large size for the nachos/fries. It is definitely sharable with friends! It was more Americanized than we hoped for. The Pastor didn't taste like authentic Mexican flavors. But the food overall, wasn't bad. I'm not sure if we would come back to this location when I saw they have another location in Pasadena.

I ordered the breakfast burrito with bacon, small carne asada fries and an elote. The breakfast burrito was huge! It was absolutely loaded with eggs, bacon and cheese. It also comes with spicy and mild salsa. The carne asada fries were my favorite. The carne asada was well seasoned, and the fries were still hot and fresh. The guac and the pico all balanced well with the fries and carne. Would say this is a must order. The elote was decent and was seasoned well but unfortunately the corn itself wasn't sweet. Maybe I got a bad piece but overall, it was still tasty. Service was excellent! The cashier was kind and we received our orders in less than 15 minutes. There are a few seats by the counter. The store itself is on the smaller side. There is parking in the back lot and also on the street. More of a to go spot/single diner spot rather than a sit down and hang out to catch up with friends and eat spot. Would come back though! Food was pretty tasty.

Very conveniently located in Glendale. Nice trendy Mexican restaurant! I had Carne Asado burrito with all rice, no beans. Very good! Check out the menu!

A friend and I stopped by this spot after work one night. Service was quick and helpful. It got busier as we ate at the restaurant, there was limited seating inside, but most people did pickup. The tacos I got were pretty yummy and filling! A bit hard to eat without a fork!

Breakfast Burrito. Great taste. Tots a little smushy . Needs more crisp .

Bottom line: à really solid breakfast burrito. Lunch time wait was 20 minutes though :( I came here during the rush lunch. Wasn't expecting a 20 minute wait, but I guess it couldn't be helped . I ordered the breakfast burrito with sausage. It was pretty good. I got the grilled tortilla , fluffy eggs, other toppings dabbed in their signature chipotle sauce . It was tasty. The tots need work. They weren't as crispy as I wanted them to be, but we're in fact a little on the mushy side. Still great taste all on all. They need to be more efficient . I don't want to wait 20 minutes for a breakfast burrito during lunch hours.

I have been going to Brick and Flour for about 5 years. I love that they have breakfast items such as the breakfast bowl. There is parking in the back and some seating inside the restaurant. Service is quick and my friend loved the carne asada fries.

This is the first time that I've heard of this restaurant. I would best describe the food as a more American style Mexican food spot. I love that it is a pretty quick service so if I were to choose this or fast food, I would definitely choose this instead. Love the simple flavors and doesn't leave me feeling gross after. The store itself is pretty simple. I love that they do have some seating in front of the window if you're wanting to have a quick lunch break. Definitely a good option for lunch.

QMy wife and I randomly ended up here. Two tacos and a burrito with street corn. Well make the trip from Corona to come back! Awesome food!!

Late night food has a special place in people's hearts. It's the comfort, the warmth, the elevated flavors that make such meals the most memorable. Brick and Flour is most directly everything that needs to exist to generate those vibes. It is full of flavor, melted cheese, amazing tortillas and filling portions. As the restaurant describes itself, they do not focus on traditional Mexican food and is executed in Tex Mex style. It is a hole in the wall, so the space is very small with very limited seating. On the day of the visit, it was slightly uncomfortable too as the door was broken and thus was constantly propped open, making the interior rather cold on a winter LA night. That was probably the biggest downside and the staff did not want to close the door. This was not a major inconvenience, but they do need to make dining experience a little more comfortable.

Love this spot for some burrito bowls or burritos. Surf and Turf with that sauce is another level.

Ask the Community - Brick and Flour

What is the reason for the 6.0% service charge?

Because the service is so horrible and offensive, with everyone ignoring you, that they don't trust you will leave a decent tip on your own.

Do they have combos that come with beans and rice?

They don't have combos. You can get an side of rice & beans, but it is pretty large. Enough for 2/3 people. Their sides are fries, rice, beans, & chips & guac.

Is the price for each taco or does it come with two?

Per taco, but they aren't small tacos. They are probably equivalent to 2 tacos other places.

    Do they have delivery?

They have delivery only through either grubhub or postmates.

    Is there taco Tuesday?

    No no.

....you guys don't have a beer selection on your menu? Pero like how do I eat a taco without my beer or a michelada....how white-washed are you?

Go to Mexico and eat them.

Are there options for salsa that are non-spicy?

They ask you if you want mild or spicy !

Does Brick & Flour use either corn oil, rice bran oil, soybean oil, and/or peanut oil in preparation of any foods? And if so which ones? Thank you!

Hey Rachel! The fries, fish and crispy chicken are fried using canola oil (we don’t use peanut oil because people have peanut allergies). In regards to the carne asada, grilled chicken, al pastor, carnitas, and house special meats, they are seasoned…

So my carnitas came out with a bed of Spanish rice which was nice and fluffy but the beans were kinda salty. The carnitas were juicy and they served a good amount so I took the left over home. They ended up being good but the star of the plate was their vegan rice; it was clearly different from what all the meat eaters got on their plates. There's was yellow/orange, but mine was green and fragrant- cilantro and lime clearly central in the cooking. SO GOOD! The nachos were absolutely amazing--one of the best parts of the meal. Before we even ordered, they brought out chips with green and red salsa, and even those chips were delicious. Lately, I've been really enjoying watching World Cup soccer games, and it was fun to watch and cheer together while having dinner there. One thing I noticed: the women's restroom was not well maintained at first. There was no toilet seat cover and no toilet paper in one of the restrooms, so I felt it could have been cleaner and better managed. However, when I went back a second time, I saw a staff member actively restocking supplies, handing out toilet seat covers and toilet paper to others, and communicating with housekeeping over a radio about what was needed. That made me feel better about how they manage the facility. Overall, from the hostess who seated us to the servers, all the staff were very friendly, which made the experience even better. Apparently, my friend and other mutual colleagues/friends still kept in touch with each other on a regular basis (I wasn't good about that) and met here fairly often on Mondays. My schedule was always difficult, but on this fateful date, I was available and geeked to hang out with people I haven't seen in over a decade easily. Having served Montrose since 2002, they have since become a pillar of the community with their family recipes and fresh homemade cuisine. I was surprised I'd never heard of this place since I grew up in the area and still relatively frequented it. Would my first time at the sun be my last, or would the family feel (and happy hour!) bring me back!? Asada Street Tacos 2pc ($5.00 HH): Marinated tender beef with diced white onion, this was simplicity at its best! Carnitas Street Tacos 2pc ($5.00 HH): Same as the asada tacos but chicken! Strawberry Margarita On The Rocks ($7.00 HH): Fruity and sweet with just enough tequila but more ice than I liked. He was the bomb - muchas gracias! PARKING (FREE): They shared parking within a small strip mall that featured a handful of other businesses such a laundromat, a liquor store, and more. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A casual clean somewhat packed floor plan with two dining areas (the main front and the side) filled with a mix of booths and partitioned tables, I didn't notice an actual bar, and minimal cultural decorations added some splash along with some 2026 World Cup fever. Plenty of natural lighting entered through the front doors and windows while an assortment of electric ceiling lights would've covered the rest as it got darker. There were several low-volume TVs throughout while I couldn't recall any background music. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I had a fun time at El Sol Family Restaurant mainly because I caught up with so many people I haven't seen in so many years and to be introduced to a new business to me with a very good happy hour. I hoped to join them for more happy hours and actually try their full menu. The food was yummy, the prices very affordable, the menu was rather sizable, and the service was awesome. Plus, I preferred to support small mom & pop businesses whenever possible. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $60.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). After not seeing each other for weeks upon weeks due to conflicts and being out of town, we decided…read morea date night was needed. We had been to this small quaint and beautiful little restaurant in Montrose before and wanted to try it again. We loved their little Spanish style courtyard, the tapas, paellas, and the setting felt so good for little date night after being away for so long. Unfortunately things did not go as planned. We made reservations for 7:15pm and were hardly even greeted by the hostess that seemed she'd rather be elsewhere then to welcome us to Casa Cordoba. Problem was though even after setting the reservation time and arriving exactly at 7:15pm we weren't seated for 15min even though we saw our table being cleaned and set and just sit there unoccupied for over 15min. So we waited. When we finally sat down...our server didn't come by for another 10-15min. But we were patient and we waited. Alvin finally came -- brought us water and opened the wine we brought. A special one for this type of occasion (corkage fee was $30). We ordered the paella with squid ink and seafood since it takes up to 45min to prepare and sat down to enjoy the wine and take in the setting. That night they had live music -- a guy on an acoustic guitar playing some cool songs, from Maroon 5 to Backstreet Boys on a 12 string...at least it was live. It was pleasant. The server didn't attend to us much and just had an air about him. Idk -- they may have been super busy but wasn't sure. Finally the paella came. It was...good. Not plentifully. 7-8mussels, a quarter of an octopus tentacles, and a couple of calamari. If you're thinking that much it and rice then you're right. It was mainly rice. No vegetables accompanying it but that's the dish. That was $57 for the small version. I've made paella before. It takes time and it's a production -- but at least at home I can make one for half that price for 8 people. Maybe that's why we don't go out so often bc it ends sometimes like this. We expect a nice meal, a welcoming host or hostess, a server who enjoys the food and atmosphere and makes us feel at home, and food that we could never prepare at home. It's suppose to be an experience that you are happy to pay for. This wasn't. We were disappointed and just felt like wanting to leave. The last straw was when I signed the check on a toast machine and asked for the printed copy. The server, Alvin just left the toast machine with us and left -- attending to others and leaving us with this machine. All I wanted at the end was a thank you for dining with us and the printed copy. We had to flag another server for that copy. He eventually came, with disdain written all over and just handed me the copy, as if I had taken his time to get my the receipt which I asked. That pretty much did it. I asked to speak with the manager and was told--"oh sure. I can get him--he's the chef, give me a minute." I was floored!! No wonder!!! The chef. The back of house manager is also the front of house manager!! That says a lot. You're front of house and your guests are not being taken care of? What kind of restaurant is this? With these prices? Regardless that was it. We left -- had some great ice cream and spoke about the whole experience all the way back home. Great date night eh? Not returning.
