We ordered to go since we were in Glendale and we have always been going to this place. It was our number one spot for Peruvian but after today don't think I'll be going back. The quality of the food is not how it was before and then I found something in my fried calamari and I'm just super grossed out now. The calamari also was really over cooked over fried and so tough really disappointed. Makes me sad because it was one of my faves but not anymore. I just hope I don't get sick after this.

Parking was limited. The restaurant itself is cute, there's seating inside and outside. The restrooms are one per gender. The service was quick. They serve bread and a green salsa as an appetizer. I got the Shrimp Ceviche which was refreshing, lemon hints, and filling when eaten with bread. I enjoyed the given green salsa as it had a slight kick to it.

I had a To Go order. I was so surprised how generous and amazing the Picante de Mariscos dish was. The dish was perfectly seasoned and will be a reorder. A bevy of large butteflied shrimp were succulent, paired with plentiful of octopus, squid and mussels. This was a perfect seafood dish. Don't forget to add the Peruvian green salsa to this dish. The flan wasn't as exciting. I hoped for smooth, melt in your mouth, but it was cumbly and tasteless. Booo The seafood/rice melange are terrific. A must visit.

Warm, Welcoming, and Worth It - Especially for the Ceviche! Mamita's Peruvian Restaurant has a cozy, family-run charm that immediately makes you feel at home. The space is quaint and cute, with warm, thoughtful decor that adds to its inviting vibe. Inside, there's plenty of room to settle in, and the outdoor dining area is perfect for larger groups looking to enjoy a relaxed meal together. We tried the lomo saltado and the mixed ceviche, and hands down, the ceviche stole the show. Bright, zesty, and ultra-fresh, the flavors danced with just the right amount of acidity--it was the kind of dish you think about long after the last bite. The lomo saltado, however, didn't quite hit the mark for me. The sauce felt a little off compared to other versions I've had, though I couldn't quite put my finger on why. That said, I'd absolutely come back for the ceviche alone and would love to explore more of the menu. Just a heads up--parking is street-only, as there's no dedicated lot, but the experience inside more than makes up for it.

The leche de tigre was so bad :( we also got bistec à la pobre and arroz chaufa they were ok . But the leche de tigre was so bad , the lime was super bitter so that was that, the consistency was not good at all very watered down, and the fish was super over cooked. Like it has been sitting in the kitchen.

Haven't had much Peruvian food but this was my first spot. Very tasty. I end up buying the aji sauce every time I go.

Came here from a word to mouth recommendation and it did not disappoint! When you walk in you can immediately tell it's a mom and pops restaurant with class. They asked us for how many ppl and to choose which booth or table we would like to sit at. There was already a lot of ppl in there so that was a god sign. We received a paper pamphlet meñu which had sooooo many dishes to chose from I really couldn't make up my mind so I decided to choose the lomo saltado and a side of papa huancaina to share.they brought out the papa first and omg the garlic cheese sauce was so delicious and tasty! The potatoes were perfectly cooked and incredibly flavorful. Definitely a must-try dish! Our main dish came and I loved how they were not stingy with the ingredients! It was a perfectly balanced dish! I got so full I took half the plate to go! I can't wait to come back and try some new dishes ( : total for the 3 dishes was $72

We came to this place several times and we love it! Their lomo saltado is a must!!! That's what we get every single time and that's what we come for! Their food is always solid! (Though one out of the few times everything came out a little too salty - but that can be a fluke I hope!) Their service is nice and friendly and the restaurant itself can be nice and cozy! You might have to find street parking but there are also some parking spots nearby the front!

Really enjoyed spending time with my cousins here the other day, they've been wanting to go here and I got to try it this same day on a nice rainy day. I like their chicha, he strong clove aftertaste is personally my favorite part, they had the lomo saltado, we shared the ceviche and I had the tallarines Verdes con carne frita which I wanted to drink the rest of the creamy sauce, it was that good. The waiter is kind and helpful, it feels nice inside l they also have a back side patio seating under shade.

Came here with a group on the recommendation of a Peruvian colleague to celebrate several birthdays including hers. The food was delicious! Among us, we had the Arroz Chaufa de Mariscos, Pescado a lo Macho, Tallarin de Camaron y Pollo, Camaron al Ajo, Camaron Frito, and Lomito Montado Estilo Mamitas. Everyone loved their meals. The birthday women received complimentary desserts with a candle on top. One of the ladies asked for luculma ice cream. Nice, simple ambiance. Great service. Street parking if the two side spots against the restaurant are unavailable.

My first time here at Mamita Peruvian Restaurant in Glendale and I truly love this place. Excellent food, and service, and very clean Restaurant. The ceviche was truly amazing, the fried Calamari was prepared to perfection, the Saltado de Pollo with fries was mouthwatering and tender, as well the Lomo Saltado was delicious. I will definitely be dinning here again soon.

Came here close to 5pm and was about 3 min wait. They asked if the small table was ok. But we requested a slightly larger table so we didn't have to worry about our food not fitting. I do appreciate them asking if the size of the table was ok. We ordered the ceviche de mariscos, jalea de mariscos, inca cola and Peruvian beer. The only had one Peruvian beer in stock in that beer is pretty light but it went well with the food. The Inca cola was very flavorful and it almost reminded me of a pineapple flavor. The ceviche de mariscos was very flavorful and I wonder if it has some sort of meat flavoring because vegan and vegetarian flavorings usually don't have that umami. The jalea de mariscos was a tower of food that included fish, shrimp, and lots of squid. Lomo saltado initially look like it had more fries because of how they plated it. But as I dug more into the food the meat was also in the middle and the bottom of the plate, so they mixed it well. Overall the food here is really good, you can tell because right before we paid for our meal there was a line forming out the door.

    Bland, chewy, hard lomo saltado.

The quality of the food has been really inconsistent. The last four times I've visited this place. I've been a customer for 20 years and it's time to move on. As I feel like I am wasting my money.

Dried bread and dipping sauces were brought while we perused the menu. Our food came quick. First was the chicken soup we ordered as an appetizer. It was delicious! Warning - the red salsa side dish is super hot. We tested it first, added a small splash, and loved it. Next was a sliced beef and marinated onion sandwich. It was well filled and really tasty, our favorite of the night. The green salsa that comes with it is a perfect compliment - savory and spicy like a molé, but not too hot. We will order this again. Then came the beef heart, not a dish for everyone, but a personal favorite. Seasoned with a great dry rub and cooked on wood skewers, it was on par with the best yakitori I have ever had. What made it even better, however, were the sides. The hominy was perfectly chewy and seasoned. Mixed with the green salad, the potato chunks, and some of the green and white dipping sauces, well, it was an excellent compliment to the dense beefiness of the roasted heart chunks. OTOH, the salsa that comes with the beef heart, while full of chopped scallions and such, was far too sour for my taste. It was like pure lime juice. I tasted it and set it aside, only adding a few bits into my mix of sides. The final nice touch was the price. Total for three dishes was $40 before tax and tip. We will be back. The closest public parking lot is a couple blocks to the north, but we found a metered spot right out front. I didn't like that the meter needed a credit card or app, but that's the way things are going.

Service was impeccable and I've never felt so well tended to, in such a warm, hospitable way too. Definitely a gem in Highland Park and I'd love to come back to try their rotisserie chicken.

Seeing all those Argentine brands and dry goods triggers a massive wave of nostalgia for all the goodies my family would bring back in overstuffed suitcases every time they visited Argentina.
