Stopped by this establishment on a sunny day for a quick bite and ordered 2 asada tacos from the woman working at the front. Before I knew it, she had disappeared to the back to prepare the food. After about an 8-10 minute wait, my order was finally bagged and ready to go. What disappointed me most was that no one asked what toppings I wanted on my tacos or what kind of salsa I preferred , which in my opinion, is essential to the taco experience. When I opened my food, I found only a couple pieces of onion, a tiny pinch of cilantro, and no salsa at all. Big bummer. I will say the meat itself was well-marinated and flavorful, but good meat alone doesn't make a great taco. The tortillas weren't warm enough, and the lack of toppings really made the tacos fall flat overall. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be coming back. The place was completely empty when I walked in, which honestly should have been my first sign that I probably wasn't going to be satisfied with my order. If you're in the area and really craving some tacos (or other Mexicana food staples), go to King Taco which is across the street and they have garage parking (free for the first hour+) and don't skip out on the red spicy salsa! read more

We had a decent and quick experience here before heading to a nearby event. It's a small spot...we were the only ones in the restaurant throughout our time there from ordering at the counter through finishing our meal. It's clean and nicely appointed giving a more upscale fast-food vibe to the place. Plus tacos! They have a couple different vegetarian options which are what needed including a vegetarian and a soy chorizo (You can get these variants as burritos too if you want.) Definitely elevated street-taco vibes on both of these which my wife and I shared 2 of each. The vegetarian is listed as having "sweet potato" as an ingredient, but it's actually sweet potato fries...that may actually make them more delicious, but it's not quite as healthy as just "sweet potato" implies in the ingredients list so felt like a not wholly accurate portrayal of what was being ordered. That having been said we enjoyed what we got. As we were the only folks in the restaurant service as quick. Water is given in disposable plastic cups. I came on a late afternoon for a quick lunch with a friend and it was completely empty so there was no line! You order at the counter (I got a burrito bowl and if you check in, you can get an aqua fresca) and the person attending to us was very nice and patient. The food came out fairly fast and my friend got horchata - which was DELICIOUS! My burrito bowl was equally as yummy but I started getting full about halfway through - my friend helped me eat some of it. The service was amazing and the people were friendly. One of the worst burrito places you can imagine. I just thought business was slow and stepped inside as it seemed pretty good. They charge a 4% credit card charge which is unheard of. While the decor isn't unpleasant, I do question the integrity of the wall art on display. I'm no expert in AI...but I think I saw some AI "art." I tried their asada burrito which was generous size with more protein than similar types of restaurants. A lot of people seem to be comparing this place to Chipotle... maybe bc the bowl kind of looks like a Chipotle bowl? Anyways, I think that's an unfair comparison since Chipotle is a customize-your-own-burrito/bowl/taco/etc. type of place, while Cocina Cilantro is your pre-set burrito, bowl, taco, etc. With that clarification aside, this place is pretty good. The portions aren't the largest, but they are just right. the price point is also relatively moderate--not expensive, and not cheap. I got the carnitas bowl and a side of salsa/chips. The carnitas were tasty in my opinion. I ate all of it and was left with just enough room to go find myself some dessert. :) (Also, note: if you are comparing to Chipotle for quantity and price, the bowls at this place are shallow and are basically like a plate, rather than a bowl. The pics from top-view can be a little misleading about the quantity. lol) read more
