Let me start by saying I'm Jamaican, raised in NY, and come from a long line of bakers. Since moving to California, I've pretty much resorted to making my own (and please... they are not empanadas). I came across The Patty Shop on IG and was excited to try it, especially after learning they're originally from NY. The space itself is nicely decorated, and I appreciated the touch of a domino table, it gave a bit of that familiar island vibe. I ordered two patties (veggie and spinach) along with coco bread, and the total came out to nearly $20. One thing that stood out right away was the wait time; it felt more like I was waiting on a cooked food order rather than a quick grab-and-go item, which is how patties are typically served in Jamaica and NY. Unfortunately, the food didn't meet expectations. The patties did not taste fresh, (they were not naked that morning and I was in at 12noon) and the coco bread was close to stale and had been reheated, which really shouldn't be necessary. At this price point, I expected much better quality and freshness. They do offer a selection of D&G sodas in a cooler, which was nice to see, and I noticed other menu items like mac and cheese being prepared. There is also a parking lot out front, which is convenient. Will I be back? Probably not. I'll stick to making my own patties and coco bread.

Updated review: This place has gone way down since the last time I went a couple of years ago. No one greeted us when we came in. We weren't asked to wait while the cashier/cook helped another customer either. We ordered the grilled cheese that was on the menu but was told that they did not have pepper Jack cheese but could substitute with mozzarella cheese. The sandwiches were supposed to be made with ciabatta bread but when we got them, they were just on regular slices of wheat bread. The bread was extremely dry and tasted like cardboard. Had we known they wouldn't be made on ciabatta, we might have ordered something else. So essentially, we paid $10 each for a tasteless grilled Cheese we could've made better at home. The dining area seemed run down. Bottom line, over priced, from The $5 can of juice to the $10 cheese sandwich. Not recommended.

My Yelp partner in Thyme mentioned 'the party wagon' and I was so confused, while traveling through Burbank looking for burgers, I stumbled upon the Patty stop, the storefront for the Patty wagon-- the service was cool, I guess it was the owner who helped us. It wasn't any one in there this particular Friday night and I was happy with that. I ordered a chicken pesto sandwich but he was so unenthused to make it, his look encouraged me to change my order. So I went with the jerk chicken stuffed patty, and he responded "I'm sure you'll like it better than the pesto". And he ain't lie. My first time having a STUFFED patty, it was pretty spicy but made on the spot so it was fresh, If I ever make a trip out to Burbank again, I'll definitely pull up !

This place is impeccably delicious and the people are so nice. I got the jerk bowl and it was hands down the best jerk chicken I've had in my life. Lovingly prepared just for you, and you can tell. The slaw is *chefs kiss*! Chicken, slaw, rice, black beans, half an avocado...A perfect meal to have before or after working out. I'll be back *terminator sunglasses adorned*

Finally something to be excited about in Burbank!!! The beef patty is FIRE!!! I will return and try the other food. King is the young man that helped with my order. Go see him ASAP !!!

I drive around LA for Jamaican patties (specifically curry chicken ones) and this hands down the best patty shop in LA. Fresh, crispy and a lot of filling!!!

Love, love, love the patties here. Been missing Caribbean food since moving from the east coast. Friendly, fast service too

Holyyy Fiiiire!! This legit. One bite of the jerk bowl and I was in NY. But I'm in Burbank, wuuut. This the kind of dish that I will no way listen to some influencer in West LA talk like they know flavorful food. Like at first bite, it zapped my brain to some memory a decade ago. Smoky and the type of spicy that chilis, peppercorns, and curry deliver. What exactly do they put and how they made it? I dunno. But my gahhd, please do not change the spiciness for people. Be your real spicy self you delish bowl. Look when I go outside in 2026, I want to know quickly who someone is and this bowl kept it real about what it is. Like bam! Jerk chicken in yer face. The rice and everything else complemented well. Be. This. Real. Peace!

Let me start by saying I was very skeptical about this place. I love beef patties. I'm from New York. I grew up eating beef patties with cheese and CoCo bread and getting them on Jamaica Avenue in Queens. I know a good beef patty when I taste one. My husband kept passing this place when we moved to Burbank and suggested we pull up. When we got there. I saw the exterior and honestly it reminded me of a food truck. When we got inside I was like oh we need more decor; we need more of a look. We need more of a vibe. My expectations were getting lower, but I decided to give it a try. I ordered a bunch of patties and two different kinds of stuffed patties. I believe I had the Philly cheesesteak stuffed patty and the chopped cheese patty. Maybe it was like the New Yorker or something; anyway, it took a while for the food to come out. I'm talking maybe 30 minutes. But whatever things happen. It didn't look like they had a lot of business that afternoon. I got the food and I was like please make it work. Let me tell y'all these patties were delicious. They got the meat right in the beef patty. It was nicely ground and soft and warm and spicy just delicious. I also love the chopped cheese stuffed patty. I've never really had anything like that, but I tried it and it was just delightful. I love the lettuce and tomatoes in there and how it all came together like a little cute Panini. I wasn't a big fan of the Philly cheesesteak stuffed patty however, I could see how some people might like it. I don't think I'll be getting that again. I will definitely be returning to this establishment. It seems like a cool place to get like 12 patties for a birthday party or something like that. The only reason it's getting four stars from me would be the decor. It needs something and needs more and I also felt like it took a little long to get my patties, but even though it took a while once I got them totally worth it. The food was great. I'll be back.

Great, healthy place for lunch! I was at a doctor's appointment and wanted to get lunch. Hubby wanted something light so I ordered from here. Got him a salad and got myself a protein bowl, but also some fries. Went to pick it up, business was in a complex. Parking was easy as it wasn't super busy. Lady got my order and rang me up - didn't say much. Food was fresh - fries even felt healthier than normal. Overall a good place for a healthy lunch.

Located right in downtown Burbank, you walk in and order at the counter, you get a number, and they bring the food out to your table when ready. Who doesn't love a $3 beer with lunch? As for the food, I was thoroughly impressed! Pastrami melt was amazing! Full of delicious pastrami, melted cheese, and pickles. So delicious! Fries looked like they were actual fresh made fries, not frozen, which was a nice surprise. I could also tell that they make their ranch from scratch. The bbq chicken sandwich was also delicious. Side salad was super fresh. Everything was so delicious! Portions nice; prices fair. I am impressed with Wild Carvery because I could tell that the ingredients are fresh and the quality is high. I also suspect that they make their own pickles? But I'm not sure. If quality and freshness are important to you, I highly recommend checking out Wild Carvery. In a time where just about everything has gotten so expensive, isn't it time we change our habits to support local businesses that are doing incredible work? They're sandwiches are top-notch, their meats are divine, and they use fresh and great tasting produce. I only wish they could expand to have some real seating as this place is tiny and really a grab and go kind of spot. The draw back is this place is very crowed during peak times and it a little too small considering the amount of customers that come. I've driven past Papa's Meat and Seafood on Glenoaks Blvd a dozen times, on our many trips to the area. We alway promising that we would stop in, and I'd finally stop in. Honestly, my only regret is waiting this long. I ordered the Luka Sandwich, which is loaded with their 14-hour smoked pastrami brisket, cheddar, pickled cherry peppers, iceberg, and Papa's aioli on toasted sourdough. The pastrami itself is a work of art--smoky, melt-in-your-mouth tender, and seasoned perfectly without being a total salt bomb. The pickled cherry peppers give it this incredible, bright pop of heat that cuts right through the richness of the beef. It's a messy, beautiful monster of a sandwich.  My wife went with the Surf 'n' Turf Bowl, which comes with their marinated "Crack Shrimp" and grilled angus beef over rice with a fresh shirazi salad. The beef was incredibly tender, but those crack shrimp stole the show--snappy, heavily seasoned, and completely addictive. You can clearly taste the quality of a high-end butcher shop in a casual, quick-service lunch.  The only reason I'm knocking off one star is the wait time and the seating is also pretty limited, so it's much better suited for a grab-and-go situation than a sit-down date night. That being said, the quality of the meat here blows standard sandwich joints completely out of the water. If you're in Burbank and want a lunch that actually feels high-quality and satisfying, do yourself a favor and drop in. I'm already eyeing the A5 Wagyu Cheesesteak for my next visit!

However, I am compelled to rate this establishment one star due to a particularly unpleasant experience with a female deli employee whose first name begins with the letter "J." Despite my frequent visits, the overall customer service in the deli and meats department has declined. The season butchers have been replaced with individuals lacking the necessary experience and customer courtesy that were previously present. Over the past three months, I have encountered the same issues with this particular employee. It is important to note that the fee charged for slicing a Tri Tip into a carton container is not the primary concern. The issue lies in the employee's behavior and attitude, specifically their unwillingness to properly wrap the sliced meat. This has occurred on multiple occasions, most recently at the checkout counter when the cashier pull the foil-wrapped package from the plastic bag causing the juices of the meat to spill all over the counter. This has happened to me every time this employee has served me. The Tri Tip sliced meat is dry and devoid of juices due to this careless employee's failure to wrap the meat carefully. It is imperative that this situation be addressed. Management should provide this employee, "J," with proper training on how to wrap sliced food correctly. Additionally, it is crucial the ambiance that all employees, including the deli and butcher employees, maintain a pleasant and friendly demeanor. A salutation is always appreciated. Despite these concerns, the BBQ remains outstanding as always.
