    Chicken Shawarma Plate
    Steven R.

Went to Cela Cafe last night for the first time very since my husband and I love Mediterranean food and are also trying to eat a bit more healthy. This place was absolutely phenomenal. Let's start with the service shall we. The two people working were incredibly helpful at helping us navigate the menu as well as providing some great suggestions. This is counter service but since we ate there on their patio they brought our food and even set real silverware and our plates down for us. Next let's talk about the ambiance. The interior is small but where this place shines is their back door patio. It's super cute, warm, and very inviting. The person working even turned a heater on for us. Lastly, the food. Omg delicious I had the chicken shawarma plate (pictured) and my husband had the beef shawarma plate. Both were amazing and very delicious. All in all, it was great experience and we will absolutely return.

Stopped in after the Holiday in the Park event and it was the perfect place to wind down with good food. All of the team members are friendly and make sure you're comfortable and feel welcome. They recommended the chicken kebab plate and it was a good portion to share for two. We opted to sit in the patio section in the back and it was really nice to get away from all the busy-ness in the streets and have a secluded spot to eat. Staff were attentive to keeping spaces clean and bathrooms were very nice. They were also dog-friendly!

    Shakshuka Eggs

Always had their Lunch/Dinner and finally had a chance to stop for their breakfast menu. Fantastic Mediterranean espresso with some light cookies to start. Strong and just a small bit of sweetness (a no-sweet option is available). I had the Shakshuka eggs Very reminiscent of a Huevos Rancheros and honestly, this was so much better than any huevos rancheros I've had at any Mexican restaurant. Spicy (as requested) and very savory with the perfect easy/medium egg in a cast iron. I'd eat this every morning!! For the espresso alone in their outdoor covered back patio is cause enough for an early morning stop with my dog (yes - pet friendly!) to enjoy. I really do hope to see this place busier as the staff is some of the nicest people I've met. Located in a private area away from the busy Magnolia road, this is a nice place to sit and relax and enjoy good food at any time of the day.

This sweet cafe is in the heart of Magnolia Park and it is a must visit. The staff were so warm and welcoming. There is a variety of delicious items on the menu. But the best thing about Cela Cafe is definitely the ambiance. The outdoor patio is so relaxing. It's perfect for a solo lunch or a lovely group dinner. Highly recommend this spot.

Love Cela! My go-to is the Falafel Wrap which is full of falafel, tahini, lemon dressing, cucumbers, tomatoes, and lettuce. The pickled veggies on the side are *chefs kiss*. Service is fast, so it's the perfect place to grab a bite quickly to go or on a quick work break. They have lovely seating indoors or a gorgeous courtyard outside in the back. Staff is so sweet and there are so many options on the menu, including vegan - of course. Love a solid spot for falafel!

Great! The food tastes incredibly fresh and clearly homemade, which makes such a difference. You can tell care and quality go into every dish. Everything I tried was delicious, well-prepared, and satisfying. I'll definitely be coming back--highly recommend!

Brownie (3/5): standard brownie, nothing special Miso Salmon (4/5): the flavor of the sauce was really good and I liked the way the salmon was cooked. The bento box itself, however, feels like they just threw in whatever "Asian" came to mind. Like why are there 7 minute eggs in this & why is it unseasoned. Also, what exactly was I supposed to do with the wasabi? The edamame/cucumber salad was more on brand but even that was bland. If I went back, I'd probably order this again out of everything I've tried but the portion is PETITE. Overall, I'm not unhappy I got it but primarily because it was free for me. I probably wouldn't pay for this on my own. It's a real kitchen but it still feels like premade lunch boxes to me + for the price, it just doesn't make sense. No more goop for me. I saw the reviews and photos and I knew I just had to stop by. Thankfully I had read the review about parking because it can definitely be confusing. Parking is street parking and a short walk to the restaurant. I did see a lot up ahead when I initially turned in the driveway but the sign looks like it's meant for a different business. I found parking right before Weddington and walked to Bruxie. On my way a shady character started following me and speaking to me and I power walked to the restaurant to get away. As I turned the corner I was greeted by friendly staff. There is someone behind the window to take orders but also someone outside the window able to take orders as well. After looking at the menu I orderd the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with a side of waffle fries, and also a breakfast burrito with a side of tots (that I planned to eat tomorrow morning). I paid and then waited in the shade of the outdoor seating which has allot of shade and it's a nice area to sit. My food was ready in maybe 15 to 20 minutes and then I walked back to my car as I had to get to my next destination. Unfortunately that shady man was waiting for me and when I rounded the corner he acted like he was ignoring me but then he started following me again!!! I ended up taking advantage of my long legs and I did a long legged power walk back to my car leaving him in the dust. People saw me walking so fast with such long strides and were looking at me like I'm crazy. When I looked back the man was still walking my way staring straight at me but thankfully he can't walk fast to catch up to me. The point of me writing about this is to be careful on this street, keep your eyes on your surroundings and do not get distracted staring at your phone. On my way driving to my destination I started nibbling on the waffle fries and they were so perfect! I don't know how to explain the puffy crunch that comes with them as you bite down. So perfectly crispy yet soft! I then decided to try the tots and they are perfection too! The perfect amount of spice that gives a hint of spicy but it's not overwhelming. I wasn't planning to eat both the fries and the tots but before you know it I arrived at my destination and both were in my belly! I then ate the Nashville chicken sandwich, absolutely delicious and generous portion, I love the taste again spicy but not overwhelming, it was perfect. My only wish is that the chicken could have been a thicker piece of chicken but it was a thin long piece. Other than that it definitely hit the spot. I am looking forward to eating my breakfast burrito tomorrow morning!

Better yet, if she ever tried Lou's, she'd never have the gall to post nonsense like that. If you haven't had it, don't review it. Simple as that. As for ALL of the items at Lou's "Oh, aimé-je" it does NOT get any better. The croissants are hands down the best in America. The sandwiches (all of them): finger-licking good. The éclairs are the most delectable in town, as are the other pastries. And with ALL of that, somehow the best thing is still the customer service. I have yet to walk in there without seeing Lou personally chatting it up with customers, the man is everywhere. On sunny and rainy days he's passing out umbrellas, and on Mother's Day he's handing out wonderful gifts for all the ladies. The staff take their lead from him and are every bit as splendid. If you haven't tried it yet, it's not too late -- run, don't walk, this weekend. Your taste buds will file a formal complaint if you don't.

My son didn't make a reservation because it was a Wednesday night and he didn't think it would be crowded. We soon got a good spot and ordered the shrimp ceviche and the pan fried dumplings for appetizers. The ceviche was served on a bed of crispy noodles and it was refreshing and satisfying. The dumplings were crispy, not greasy, and flavorful. For dinner, we got 2 orders of japchae and 3 orders of bibimbap. With 2 Korean-born children and having visited the country, those are among our family's favorite dishes. And they did not disappoint. The japchae noodles were just right. They were not too firm and not too soft and well-seasoned. With a mixture of veggies, meat, mushrooms, eggs, and that delectable sauce, the bibimbap tickled and satiated the tastebuds. I told the server there was a birthday at the table and she brought out an excellent creme brulee with a candle in it. My husband and I didn't pay the bill. But the prices were reasonable with most of the entrees costing less than $20 each. We have four more days in town and may very well make another visit to indulge in that scrumptious food.
