    Sandwich prices

One of my favorite places to come and get some sandwiches on the way out for the day. They have a nice variety of sandwiches to choose from, on the weekend they're outside with some big barbecues grilling. Which fills the air with the delicious aroma. If I go during the week I like to get a bologna sandwich or a mortadella and if I go on the weekend I get the tri tip sandwich. The tri tip sandwich is a bit juicy so if you're gunna eat it make sure you have some napkins. $13.99 for the sandwich or a pound of meat. These sandwiches are a nice size. Which I really enjoy because it's a good price as well. We like to stop here if we're going to the park or a trip to the mountains. I can eat and I usually get two servings from it. The location is a little small so you might feel like you're always in someone's way. Everyone is nice tho so it makes navigating through the store a bit easier. They also have a pretty good selection of beers to choose from as well as a variety of different items throughout the sore. I also forgot to mention they have a lot of different meats you can pick up and grill yourself. I've been here more than a handful of times and never had any issues.

If you smell it, you know you are close. Ive been seeing or shall I say smelling this place the last four years while in Burbank. This last drive by, I decided to stop. It is kind of strange. It is a local market but they sell BBQ and all the fixings. There are two lines that take up certain aisles. One line leads to the deli. The other line leads to the registers. Both lines were long. Th deli line offers what every deli has. Sandwich meats, cheeses, salads. It also offers sandwiches, bbq chicken, tritip, etc. I also saw people ordering breakfast burritos at around $8.50. I picked up side dishes. Potato salad at about $4.00 a pound. Mac n cheese at 6.00 a tub and baked beans at $6.00. Everything was great. What was'nt great was the parking. It was a little tight. There is a lot to park in. However it was tight I am a fan and will return.

2025/09/27 update: I haven't been here for a while so I thought I should update the pictures of the menus and the store.

The soups at Handy's is hit or miss. Pass on the albondigas soup and go for the chicken and rice. The tri tip sandwich is ok. It's better by the pound. I didn't car for the ribs. It's a little dry. Definitely get the chips and salsa. I haven't had any of the dinners but I would definitely try the garlic chicken next time. Everything is pretty inexpensive. Sandwiches are massive and inexpensive. Everyone that works there are so nice and accommodating. The market is small but there's a lot of stuff. Plenty of parking in the back.

I've been meaning to visit this place for quite awhile (in my earlier days when I used to work around the area over 10+ years ago) and one Saturday morning took me here. The weekend bbq is the best time to visit! You can easily find the whole city here (or maybe at Portos, haha). It is a local favorite. The hype is real. The market also a decent selection of alcohol and coffee along with produce. Despite it looking like a convenient store (like a 7-11), it offers a lot more for its size. Service is friendly and there's plenty of workers (except for the deli area). Their tri-tip sandwich was delicious and easily satisfied 2 adults. Pricing is very reasonable and reminds me of the bbq you get in SD or Central California. We also purchased potato salad and corn bread as well, and definitely couldn't get to the corn bread. Price / portion- Affordable Wide selection for a small store Tips- -Parking available on the side streets -There is an outdoor section to easily get the tri-tip sandwich. You can order potato salad / Mac salad in the market or get it already weighed out in the refrigerated coolers. -the store has cold drinks as well (-): no dine-in available from what I saw; we ended up eating at the park / library parking lot nearby. This is an obvious - "can't wait to come back!" Spot.

I finally made it to Handy Market in Burbank after an errand. Husband has heard people rave about it, and let me just say -- the sandwiches? Worth the buzz. I got the Italian sandwich (no pickles or condiments, just red wine vinegar) and Steven had the pastrami, which came stacked with other cold cuts. Both were so good. Like, sit-in-your-car-and-savor-it level good. Five stars, no question. Yes, the sandwich counter is a little slow, but honestly? I didn't mind at all. It gave me time to explore the market, which is full of fun local, organic, and specialty finds. It feels like a cozy little grocery store with personality. I've also heard legendary things about their Saturday BBQ (apparently the tri-tip is the main event) so now that I've had the sandwiches, that's next on my list. I'm already plotting my return. Bottom line: Handy Market delivers. Come for the sandwich, stay for the vibes, and maybe show up hungry on a Saturday to see what the BBQ hype is all about.

Easy parking in the morning. I just came for specialty coffee and they do have a wide selection considering the size of the store. Service was friendly.

I come here for the sandwiches. I love how they are stuffed and very filling. I also love getting their produce here and fresh meats. It is quality. They have parking available overall a good store to go to when you need to pick up something.

Literal perfection. The balance between the tuna salad and all the condiments and toppings. Everything tasted super fresh and delicious.

Small quaint family owned grocery store that never disappoints- known for their amazing meats and sandwiches and has lots of local food as well. Today I got their famous bbq tri tip sandwich. I ordered ahead of time , you can order in person but always a line (because it's that good!!) this is only available on saturdays and they cook it up all day outside the market. Love how handy market also helps and supports other local businesses, the new magnolia corner gets all their meats and more from there. Love also heading to their deli and getting a sandwich made, you can't go wrong with that!

As I commence my bakery tourism, some of the most slept on places to get fresh baked goods are your local supermarket, whether corporate or small business. Right before you are next to be called in line for the deli, to your left, there is a shelf of big huge loafs and there are some of the best and moist sweet breads. I am always unlucky and still haven't been able to get the chocolate chip bread option so this round is lemon poppy seed and carrot bread. Lemon poppy seed is a 4.5/5. I love the addition of the shaved almonds on top to give it a crunch. Carrot bread is a 4/5. You can never go wrong with carrot but the following day, it actually stales quicker vs gets moist-er, which is interesting. Great addition to a sweet crumble baked on top of the loaf. I cannot wait to go through all the breads they offer.

1.5/5 Breakfast burrito: only had sausage and it was 1030am The amount of egg to sausage is mind blowing. I see sausage but it doesn't smell or taste like anything. The burrito is extremely tiring to eat with no flavor. The man who gave it to me seemed nice but the woman who checked me out had no personality and non friendly facial expressions with no hello hi or any other greeting except I can take you over here. 23rd of August 2025 Cashier Karen needs some coaching on hospitality.

Was driving by and couldn't resist the BBQ smoke and amazing aroma coming from Handy Market, had to stop and check it out! They set up a BBQ right in the parking lot on Saturday mornings, and the smell alone pulls you in. The staff were super friendly, and the line moved fast, which I appreciated. Tried their Tri-Tip Sandwich, and wow, that wood-burning flavor really made it something special. Juicy, smoky, and perfectly cooked. The only downside is the parking lot, which can be a bit of a pain to get in and out of the place.

Bacon, egg, potato and cheese burrito.

The lasagna is delicious, and the noodles melt in your mouth. I like it because it's not overly heavy like some other lasagnas. It comes with two piecea of garlic bread. During my last visit, one was a bit burnt on the edges. The pastrami sandwich is really tasty, and the bread is soft but still has a nice chew. It usually comes with marinated diced tomatoes, but I always ask for them on the side. If you dine in, the sandwich comes with two deli sides. On my last visit, I got the potato salad and marinated artichokes and both were great. The potato salad was creamy, and the artichokes were super flavorful. For dessert, I tried the tiramisu, and it was a bit underwhelming. It had a slightly gritty texture. Since it's imported from Italy, I had high expectations, but I'm guessing it's shipped frozen, which might be why it didn't taste fresh. I wouldn't order it again. They also sell Italian cookies and gelato. The cookies are good, especially the raspberry ones. The gelato is really refreshing. I recommend mixing mango and raspberry if you like something tart, or trying the tiramisu flavor if you want something sweeter. It's a cafeteria-style deli, so you order at the counter, pay, and then find a table. They also have outdoor seating.

Regardless, the quality of the food, particularly the pastrami sandwiches, is very high. The pastrami is diced up into cubes, rather than slices. I would prefer them to be slices but the taste was still amazing. I tried the regular pastrami sandwich ($20) as well as the pastrami reuben sandwich ($23). While both are pastrami sandwiches, I would highly recommend paying the extra $3 to get it as a reuben sandwich, as it comes toasted and with Russian dressing and sauerkraut in it as well. The pastrami sandwich is pretty ordinary but the reuben sandwich is very delicious. The sandwiches also come with your choice of mac salad, potato salad, or coleslaw. We tried one of the mac salad and one potato salad, and they were pretty mid but not bad tbh. Service is nice. I believe the countertop is run by an older couple. It seems like they have been doing this for a while. We waited for about 20-30 minutes for our food. Again, it's located in the back of a liquor store so while we were waiting, we just had to awkwardly stand around in the liquor store. There is seating outside, but it was in the sun and it was a hot day today. We ended up taking the food togo to eat somewhere else. Overall, good food. Feels slightly deceptive with the name but surprised with the great flavors of the food. Solid 4/5.

While my life pahtner is more into sweets, I'm more into savory, so I was happy our daughter was taking us to a spot for a breakfast bagel sandwich. We also ordered a variety of Hank's bagels, which were a struggle to pull apart with your hands and even with a knife, but I really enjoyed my Everything Jalapeño Cheddar bagel. The star of my meal at Hank's was their Number 1 bagel sandwich. That alone warrants a 4.5 star rating. Hank's is located in Burbank, CA., specifically on Riverside Drive and Valley Street. Rose Street is another cross street. It's across from Sweetgreen and Philz Coffee. It's on the same side of Mendocino Farms and just down the road from Bob's Big Boy. The shop is neighbors to Tocaya Organica. Parking is street parking and neighborhood parking, which is where we parked and had to walk about a block to Hank's. There isn't any indoor seating, but there are outdoor covered umbrella seating in front of the shop. It would be challenging to have a large group dine there. The shop is all about their bagels, so the decor is minimal with tshirts hanging on their white walls, a glass display case showing their cream cheeses and other cold items, and a wire rack showing their Dirty Deli Style Potato Chips for sale. The gentleman behind the counter was friendly and really helpful. We dined outside and the staff member who brought our food out was also courteous. Hank's is a shop where you order from their register and they call your name out when your food is ready. Hank's is a popular bagel shop with a lot of take out business as there was a steady flow of customers picking up on line, call in, or to go orders. For the variety of bagels we ordered, we ordered Rosemary Sea Salt, Salty Chocolate Chip, and I ordered the Everything Jalapeño Cheddar. The only issue I had with the bagels was how tough it was to tear or cut the bagels. Besides that, the bagels were very flavorful and tasty. Make sure to buy their plain cream cheese and liberally spread it on the bagels. The cream cheese made the bagels even more delicious. My Everything Jalapeño Cheddar bagel was too beautiful to eat. I love spicy, so maybe I'm immune to anything spicy, but I didn't taste any spiciness at all. There was a good amount of jalapeños on top, the cheddar doused the bagel, and I engulfed that bagel. The star of our breakfast meal was the Number 1 bagel sandwich. The number 1 comes with fried egg, choice of either spicy maple-glazed bacon or homemade turkey sausage, sharp cheddar, tomato, and aioli on an onion bagel. I selected the bacon and I loved it. I didn't realize this, but you can place any of their sandwiches on any of their bagels. Next time, I'm doing a sandwich with the Everything Jalapeño Cheddar bagel. The Number 1 sandwich is number 1 for a reason and I don't think you'll regret ordering this sandwich. All of the components combined with the bagel made for satisfying and yummy bites. I inhaled that sandwich and I thought that was one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've ever eaten. We always love spending quality time with our Baby Girl.
