I visited Tony's Deli in Burbank about two or three weeks ago, and I really enjoyed all the food--the sandwiches, pasta, and eggplant parmesan were all delicious. It's a small mom-and-pop shop, but the place is cute, tidy, and very clean, which I liked. It feels like a hidden gem and truly a spot that Burbank needs. One of the best sandwiches I've eaten! I tried this local spot like a decade ago and forgot about it but was starving today and was in the area so decided to grab a sandwich here. Parking is easy, free 2 hours street parking in front or neighborhood parking down the block. The folks here were friendly. I got the Tony's Special - an Italian cold cut , toasted, and got everything in it except for onions for $16.50 for 9". I was sharing the wich so they nicely offered to cut and wrap it in halves (: thanks! I ate in the car and the amount of juice that was dripping from it made it dangerous to eat there but so delicious , worth the mess! I had street parking to go to Paquito Mas but the line wasn't moving there so strolled up Olive to Tony's. Ordered a large turkey on rye and I'm telling you, it was delicious. It consists of a tortilla 3 scrambled eggs with cheese and has browns. I got mine with sausage In it. You can ask for avocado if you want but it wasn't needed. Hubby and I stopped by Tony's Deli before heading to Universal Studios. We wanted to grab something to eat so that we're not spending so much money there on food later over there. Upon arrival it was around lunch time and we were the only ones there. The staff member there was really friendly and she answered any questions we had about their menu. We ended up ordering a sandwich to share which worked out perfectly as their sandwiches were pretty filling. Once we placed our order we sat and waited while she went to go make our sandwich. It came out quick and it was super delicious! We love getting deli sandwiches from time to time and it never fails to be delicious and filling. Tony's offer outdoor patio seating (Dog Friendly), indoor seating, catering, orders to go and now they are even serving breakfast! Small sando shop for sure! The lady that helped us was friendly and greeted us right away. Got the Italian Tonys Special and I have to say it currently trumps any other Italian Sando I've had in So Cal! This place is pretty darn good. Got two Tony's specials and a meatball sandwich. Nice size sandwiches plenty of meat and fresh veggies. Toasted bun best way to go. Meatballs were a decent size tasty sauce with plenty of melted cheese. Of course toasted. I also ordered & paid for a side of potato salad which they forgot to give me. So no review there. This review should be for both locations but I will place the review here. In a rush I had placed an online order then went to pick it up at the expected time that I was notified via text. When I went to pick it up, the person (didn't get his name but i owe this man a thank you) looked up the order and made the sandwich quickly. At the moment was not so impressed that my order was not ready and the guy had a hard time locating it. Later got a call from the deli that my sandwich was ready for pickup. In short I had placed the order to another location and went to pick up here. The lady said it was okay as long as I got my sandwich but it sure is costly to small businesses. The guy did not even mention that I had made a mistake and rushed the pastrami sandwich, which was as good as I had expected. But the service that I received today really was great and humbling. I also love that they use Boars Head deli meats. A large sub sandwich runs about $11.95 and is fully packed! Not a skimpy sandwich; definitely enough to share. A better deal in my opinion is the "LUNCH SPECIAL", for only a dollar more ($12.95) it includes: regular sized sub; a pasta or potato salad; and a drink!
