On our last night in Burbank, my son and I chose this diner, which was right down the street from our hotel. The ambiance was very retro with Madonna on the Juke box. It was very welcoming! The front doors were open and there was an event down the street, so there was a lot of foot traffic outside, we had the place to ourselves and got top notch service the whole time. I chose a Strawberry Milkshake and a turkey club sandwich with a side salad. I was so incredibly satisfied with my meal, every bite hit perfectly! My son had a steak with veggies and a bowl of soup, he loved every bit as well. This was such a perfect way to end our stay in LA, the food was great, the service was great and the price was reasonable. I am so glad that we decided on the Great Grill and I would definitely go back! Before we left my son performed some magic, his last performance in town, it was a total hit! Thank you for topping off our trip to California!!!

The service was absolutely amazing! This was not the intended location for us, but as we were walking by the owner was so friendly and chatted us up so we went inside!!! Once we were inside, the vibes were top-notch with the quality of service to match very impressed by the service. I was with two friends we all ordered different things and all very, very satisfied. I did not need to add anything to this food. It was perfect as it was.

The food was so delicious! Crispy and well sauced wings! Portions sizes are generous and prices are great! The service was so speedy, welcoming and kind! The decor is super fun as a 50s diner. I highly recommend this place!

The food is amazing. We ordered the fried zucchini, spaghetti with marinara sauce, chili cheese burgers & fries & the beef dip sandwich. The vibes here are awesome. There is a juke box & we paid a quarter for 3 songs. The staff is very friendly & service was excellent. We finally found our #1 dining spot. I was dancing while I was eating & that means I was very happy. Thank you The Great Grill for an unforgettable dining experience

The fact this place isn't at 5 stars??????? Incredible! Fantastic service I'm not sure what his name was but was serving 6 tables at once and didn't skip a beat when making sure we had refills and answered all our questions. The food was mesmerizing! Fantastic food we can't wait to come back! This place is so cute and retro I'm looking forward to coming again! Cozy, fun, and relaxing! Loved this place!

I was looking for a place to have breakfast on "there is NEVER parking available N San Fernando Blvd". A voila! A spot in front of The Great Grill. Been on this street hundreds of times and never saw their cute theater marquis sign before. ADORABLE 50's like diner (with juke box!) has the NICEST man serving diners. The food was perfect diner food! Big portions. Delicious coffee! The place is bright and friendly! Can't wait to go back - - if the parking Gods smile on me again!

Convenient location, great service, crispy wings, and stacked sandwiches. The Great Grill is a cool 1950s style dinner that serves breakfast all day.

We were greeted by warm friendly staff who sat us in the dining room and not long after the dining area began filling up with patrons and quite a few regulars. The staff knew some of them by name or their regular orders. For a server to recognize a customer and talk to them and care for them is what Juan S. Did. He was our server and was so nice, friendly and helpful especially this being our first time dining at Tallyrand. Attentive to all of the tables in our immediate area, conversing with the regulars and caring for them while listening to them. Our food was outstanding, a good sized menu offering various house specialties and all looked amazing. We went with the Turkey dinner and it was fabulous, like having Thanksgiving dinner without having to cook and clean up. Salad or soup option for starters that came with incredible fresh hot sourdough bread before the entree arrived. Good sized portions at reasonable prices served hot and tasting just like home. We had to go with the famous house baked peach pie à la mode and try a cup of coffee. Both spectacular as well. The perfect trifecta, starting with great service by Juan S. In a fabulous old school charm dining room that made you feel like home and completing it with outstanding food. "Justa like my mama's kitchen" Tallyrand you brought back the sincerity of days long gone. That said, there's definitely potential for it to be higher. Lancers has that classic family restaurant feel, and overall the meal was decent. I ordered two meals: the beef dip and the fish and chips. I'd give the beef dip a 3/5 and the fish itself a solid 5/5. The fish was nice and flaky, and the batter was phenomenal. Crispy, light, and not greasy. The oil didn't seem old or overused, which I appreciated. However, it was disappointing that the fish wasn't served with a lemon wedge, which would have really complemented the dish. I ended up having to ask for one, but our server didn't stop by the table after dropping off our food. We had to wave her down to get her attention. The beef dip had good flavor, but the meat was served cold. Even so, it was still enjoyable. The bread appeared to have been toasted, but it wasn't crispy at all. In fact, I asked for the sandwich to be boxed up almost immediately because I already knew I was going to take it home and make it better myself. The whole time I was thinking how good it would be with some horseradish and cheese, then popped into the air fryer for a few minutes. The sandwich had potential, but it needed a little more attention in execution. The turkey gravy was another miss. I ordered it for the fries, but it wasn't thick enough. It definitely could have used more flour. The consistency was closer to the au jus that came with the beef dip than a traditional turkey gravy. Overall, there were some highlights, especially the fish, but a few execution issues and inattentive service kept the meal from being better than average.

After a long, exhausting four-hour dialysis session, my friend Maria picked me up because I had a…read moredoctor's appointment immediately afterward. I was starving and had been craving a tostada salad for years, so we stopped at Foxy's, a place I'd been going to off and on since the 80s. Both Maria and I ordered the chicken tostada salad, and what arrived was incredibly disappointing.!!! The chicken was bland, tasted like frozen chicken with fake grill marks, and there was barely any of it. The salad itself was mostly lettuce and baby spinach. Seriously, who the hell puts baby spinach in a tostada salad? We were so dissatisfied with those salads that we told the waitress to take them back because we didn't want them. The waitress, who was also the cashier, suggested that we order something else instead. Maria ordered a cheeseburger that came with fries. Since she used to come to Foxy's about 20 years ago when her kids were in junior high, and because she knows I like carne asada burritos, she suggested I order the carne asada burrito because she remembered them being huge back then. Well, not anymore. The burrito was much smaller than what she remembered, and after I took literally one tiny bite just to taste it, I immediately noticed bell peppers in it. Wtf? What kind of idiot puts bell peppers in a carne asada burrito? I asked Maria if they used to put bell peppers in them years ago, and she immediately said no. Maria tasted it herself and was disgusted by it too. When I say I barely touched it, I mean it. I literally took one small taste, Maria barely had a bite herself, and there was still approximately seven-eighths of that burrito left sitting on the plate. To top it all off, the burrito also came with stale-ass tortilla chips! Since I couldn't stomach the salad or the burrito, I ended up eating only half of Maria's dry, tasteless, cardboard-like cheeseburger and exactly four fries because by that point I was disgusted with the entire meal. The final bill came to $41.90. I'm on a fixed income. Paying $41.90 for half of a dry cheeseburger, four fries, and food we barely touched because it was so bad is frustrating enough. Being asked whether I wanted to take home a box for a burrito that still had seven-eighths left felt downright insulting. No thank you. I don't take home food that I thought was crap! When I was paying, I told the waitress/cashier, "I wish I could speak to your manager." She told me he was right there, but I explained that I was already going to be late for my doctor's appointment and didn't want to have to reschedule until next week. I spend three days a week at dialysis and use my other days for specialist appointments and medical visits, so my schedule is already difficult enough to manage. I told her I would call the manager when I got home. When I finally spoke with the manager later, he asked me, "Why didn't you tell them you didn't like it? They would have taken it off the bill." That response left me confused because the waitress already knew exactly how dissatisfied we were from the moment the salads went back untouched. She knew we rejected them. She knew we ordered replacement meals because of them. She knew I barely touched the burrito. She knew Maria disliked it too. She knew there was almost an entire burrito left sitting on the plate. If taking it off the bill was an option, why wasn't that offered at the time? Why wasn't there an offer for a discount, partial credit, or some kind of accommodation? At the very least, after watching customers send back meals and barely touch the replacements, comping a dessert to go would have been a nice gesture. This experience was disappointing from beginning to end, especially because I remembered Foxy's so fondly from years ago. Ewww!! Never again!!!!
