I saw this place on TikTok and my husband and I decided to come for our anniversary date! We live about an hour away with traffic, so this was going to be a whole day mission for us The day before, we were looking at the menu and couldn't decide what to get because everything looked so good. Since we were already making the trip to Burbank, we decided to be crazy and come for breakfast AND dinner. And we did just that! For breakfast, I got the steak and eggs, my husband got the eggs, sausage and ham, and we shared a Belgian waffle. Everything was delicious! Our server was extremely nice and friendly (I unfortunately didn't catch his name). Everyone seemed like a regular, and he was chatting with everyone, which was so nice to see. We even told him we'd be back for dinner! We explored Burbank for the day and came back for dinner. I got the Philly cheesesteak and my husband got the burger and fries. Everything was just as delicious! I even burned my mouth because I wasn't patient and took a huge bite which honestly just proves the food comes out hot and fresh! We'll definitely be back! Food was delicious. I tried the country fried steak breakfast and a cup of chili. I was skeptical on the gravy because usually gravy is thicker. To my surprise, this gravy was full of flavor. The chicken was perfectly crispy on the outside and the potatoes were well seasoned; crispy yet tender on the inside. The chili was flavorful & hearty. Conveniently located downtown. On our last night in Burbank, my son and I chose this diner, which was right down the street from our hotel. The ambiance was very retro with Madonna on the Juke box. It was very welcoming! The front doors were open and there was an event down the street, so there was a lot of foot traffic outside, we had the place to ourselves and got top notch service the whole time. I chose a Strawberry Milkshake and a turkey club sandwich with a side salad. I was so incredibly satisfied with my meal, every bite hit perfectly! My son had a steak with veggies and a bowl of soup, he loved every bit as well. This was such a perfect way to end our stay in LA, the food was great, the service was great and the price was reasonable. The meatloaf was okay, but the mash potatoes were tasteless. The chicken fried steak was from frozen and, therefore, dry. The fries were seasonsless. In a part of LA that is filled with great diners, The Great Grill should be considered one of them in my opinion. They specialize in a 1950s retro theme from the music playing to the booths and tables that you are sitting in to all the signage on the wall. I'm already a huge fan of Bob's, Paty's, and a few others in the area and would consider this a solid breakfast option as well. The food was good, but my favorite part of the meal was the price, everything was just fair. Service was quick and all of our food items came out shortly after ordering. They don't have a parking lot attached, but there is a parking garage with the first two hours free directly behind the restaurant. The walking path that is just left of the entrance leads to the parking garage. They have a fairly large menu filled with all sorts of diner classics for both breakfast and lunch or dinner. We stopped in for brunch for our first time so we wanted to do some breakfast items. I chose the Country Breakfast which is a Chicken Fried Steak with eggs and toast and really enjoyed it. I would've liked hashbrowns more than the homefries that they used and also felt that the chicken fried steak was a little too crispy, but it still had somegreat flavors. Overall a really solid and fairly priced retro diner in Burbank. I would suggest to anyone searching for a good breakfast or lunch option where you can listen to the oldies while you dining. read more

This little restaurant really gives off Mel's Diner vibes and really throws you back to the 50's. The food was also similar to most dinner spots with choices from all day breakfast to burgers to salads. I went with the super bird. All the flavor was there however I wished it was warm. I mean the bread was toasted and cheese was melted however the turkey was very cold like fresh out of the fridge cold. Maybe that's just how their super bird is and it was my fault for not clarifying. My son ordered boneless wings and they came out still frozen in the middle. She answered "Do we have a kids menu". Brought a root beer instead of coke. Stared at us as we ate. Food came out soon, but it all was sub par. The French dip roll was better than the meat. Fries were probably good an hour before we got there. Dropped in the fryer (maybe third time) right along with the chicken tenders for sure, old grease taste in all the fried food. I have been a patron of this family owned diner for a long time. I have never regretted eating here whether it's dining in, getting take out, or ordering it through a third-party delivery service. The food is very fulfilling and it doesn't make you feel bad after. It's just one of those places that has everything and everything is pretty solid. It's just a much cleaner and more inviting version of any other diner in LA We used to come here with friends 20 some years ago and until today, most of us still continue to support this business.
