Republik Coffee has been in Burbank for a while now and it's really good! I tried their Cardamom Oat Latte and Pistachio Latte. Both of these drinks were really smooth and had great flavor. I've never had a cardamom latte and it was a great mix of flavors. The pistachio latte was on the sweeter side but didn't overpower the coffee flavor. Service was good. Orders taken fast and drinks came out relatively fast as well. Ambiance is amazing! A cozy spot tucked away in Downtown Burbank with plenty of seating inside and outside. Located in downtown Burbank, this coffee spot is sort of hidden to the side so be careful not to miss it. The inside is not that big but they do have a decent amount of tables to sit at. Besides coffee they offer a variety of food options as well as pastries. Service was great, extremely nice staff. I ordered a seasonal matcha drink they offered. We had to wait a few min for an open table but not too bad. The drink took longer to come out than expected. I had to make my husband go check on the status. I stopped by on a Friday around 11am. There's a parking structure in the back which is super convenient. The indoor space is small but has a handful of tables and they also offer outdoor seating. The line moved quickly and they have menus in a basket by the line so you can look over it while you wait. They sell pastries and grab-and-go items like salads, wraps, and fruit cups. I ordered the berry smoothie and it was so good! For food, my sister and I shared the chilaquiles with scrambled eggs and an almond croissant. The chilaquiles were delicious and every bite in the croissant had almond. I got the lavender matcha! It was tasty. My friend got the turmeric golden latte but said it was a bit too spicy for her (pepper wise). Overall cute spot, always seems fairly crowded however with not much room for seating. I'd actually tried their Pasadena location before and the coffee was great, so I had decent expectations. The coffee here was solid too, but afterward my stomach was pretty off, which I've never experienced at other coffee shops -- might be the milk they use. On top of that, by 5 PM the pastries looked like they'd been sitting out all day, and breakfast was long gone, so food-wise there was nothing worth getting. I'm looking for places in Burbank and Glendale to get a Vietnamese coffee ever since my friend introduced me to it. I saw Republik has a Vietnamese Cold Brew so I tried it. It was pretty good! The coffee was strong and it tasted great. The reason I docked a point is because the location itself is very clustered and claustrophobic inside. We came here on a weekend morning and got the dulce de leche French toast and the avocado toast. We also ordered the cardamom coffee. The coffee was very good and on the sweeter side. The Dulce de leche French toast was also good had crispy edges and fresh fruit and fresh bread. But it was probably too sweet for our tastes. The avocado toast was a little disappointing. The avocado was more like guacamole and a little more sour than I would have liked. The 7-minute egg was very small, only half a boiled egg, which is disappointing. The service was also fine. You order at the front and then sit down with the number. They brought us our food and drink. But they don't check in on you or anything. The food is more expensive like what you'd expect for a sit down with full service. For two entrees and a coffee, it was just about $45 (not including tip) so it's definitely pricy for what you get. I'm reviewing specifically their matcha. I wouldn't have normally gone here, but my family was in town and already seated having their morning coffee so I decided to try their strawberry matcha cloud special, which was a strawberry matcha with a strawberry "cloud" (I assumed cold foam) on top. First off it was very expensive. Like $12 after tip, which is more than high end spots in LA. The cloud dissipated after a few minutes so it definitely wasn't cold foam and was kinda of a waste as an addition. The matcha wasn't good, definitely cheap bulk qualify. I knew the drink would disappoint me, as it's a coffee not matcha place. And it did. But at least I can say I tried it. I do love the outdoor seating, and I tried a bite of my boyfriend's pastry which was yummy! read more

Now I love Republik. I frequent the Pasadena location all the time. This was my first time at the Burbank location and I have to say it fell flat. While the ambiance outside and inside was nice, the girl who took my order was kind, the barista making my drink really had no business working there. Here in downtown Burbank we have Republik, also a location in Pasadena; this cute coffee shop on the side of a small alley gives some interest but good vibes to the table. The service was pretty quick and the lady taking our order was kind enough to also give us recommendations. We ordered a cold brew with sea salt foam I believe it stated in the description and it was the best we've had! Usually we drink just plain black coffee or strong lattes but this was delicious! The decor inside is interesting, doesn't fit my style and nothing really matches each other but hey at least they have good coffee. 10/10 will be coming back for that cold brew and maybe a little sweet treat on the menu. read more

The layout of this shop is amazing! It's modern art deco, with lots of natural curving shapes. The seating is ample and comfortable, with indoor seating, patio seating, and sidewalk seating. Staff were also great! They were welcoming and friendly and they got us through a line that was stretched out the door in under 10 minutes. Be careful raising in line or opening the bathroom door, it opens directly into the line area! Unfortunately, I don't have good things to say about the coffee. I got the caramel ube latte and, while the first sip packs a strong flavor, the rest of the coffee was just kind of watery. For all the rich flavors that supposedly went into the drink, I mostly just tasted kinda sweet watery milk. I didn't get the ube flavor, or even the espresso flavor! There might be a long lines but it moves quick. Although accessing the restroom would involve passing through the waiting line. The staff were nice and helpful. It's my first time ordering and I ordered 7 items. Very excited to try something new. One of the items I ordered was the prosciutto sandwich. It was way smaller than advertised. Overpriced for its size. The prosciutto was hard and dry and stale. The bread was also stale and hard to chew. I haven't digested since eating the sandwich that was poorly made and not fresh at all. The matcha was very bitter I could hardly finish it. Making matcha latte requires the right temperature and the right amount of whisking to prevent clumps and becoming too bitter. Seemed like they didn't make it properly because there were clumps and I couldn't get past how bitter it was. Even the chocolate croissant was too small as advertised. It was just not good. The only thing I enjoyed was the quiche. I ordered raspberry danish but I haven't tried it yet. I wish I could say I was looking forward to it. Maybe it will be good. I ordered a sandwich to eat later but I am hesitant on eating it. I paid almost $100 for this order and was duped by them. I regret ordering from this place. I ordered the sea salt hazelnut cappuccino iced, so my cup was not full to the top. It also tasted nothing like the description. It tasted like a caramel macchiato with some graham cracker pieces in it. It tasted fine as a caramel macchiato, but that's not what I ordered. I was so bummed, especially if you're paying $7 plus tip for a less than full drink. That's crazy. I got the blueberry danish, and it was okay. People in the reviews really love their pastries, but I was underwhelmed because the danish was fully soft everywhere. I was hoping for a bit of a crisp on the pastry edges, but no. Luckily, it wasn't too sweet, and they were generous with the blueberry part compared to the raspberry filling which looked not as full. One Yelp reviewer said to ask them to toast it twice.
