First new coffee shop of the year! We were in the area so I picked one that stood out to me per Yelp recs and this was the one! We luckily found street parking up front, otherwise they have a small street nearby that you can probably park in as well. Only two people were ahead of us when we walked in but shortly after, the place filled up with the line almost out the door! There was only one worker but she made it work and she was fast! Cute decor and vibes inside. I wanted to try the pistachio bliss that everyone seemed to rave about but since their seasonal menu was out, I went for the toffee nut iced latte. The drinks are a bit on the pricier side, cute cups though! Something about the drink I got was a little off putting. Idk if it was whatever spice they used but I was not crazy about it. I was influenced by the reviews to try this place as I was in the area. It's a cute coffee shop on a busy street. No line when I came in. I ordered a blackberry buzz latte with oat milk. I ordered the largest size as I was hopeful it was good. When I got my drink I was taken back at the color and presentation. Compared to the pics online it looked like a lot of milk. I got in my car to try it. All I tasted was milk, and almost no blackberry syrup. I went back inside and asked if they could possibly add more syrup. The guy who took my order was nice but the girl was rude. She just grabbed my cup, did 2 pumps of the syrup, and handed it back to me. This coffee shop was a bit difficult to find. We had to loop around the block a few times to figure out 1. They don't have a storefront sign and 2. If you see the name Roobina's Cake & Catering on the building, it's located inside there. Weird....not sure if Soulsweets hasn't gotten their sign yet or Roobina decided to open a coffee shop next door. Also, street parking only so that can be challenging, we had to park on the next street over. The inside is TINY. Barely any tables & chairs so I don't suggest coming here for coffee dates or catching up with friends. It's more of a grab n go. We ordered two medium Einspanner Lattes and they were delish!!! Sometimes picture might indeed be misleading, and that's precisely representing my first impression stepping into Soulsweets. I've always had in my mind that the cafe would be quite spacious with plenty of seats, but in actual I was over-projecting. Sitting there spending roughly couple hours, I could see it only being tad quiet for a sec, before another guests coming in as the prior ones leaving. Good job to the friendly baristas for delivering that warm hospitality for sure, including being helpful in assisting me with my order choice! Being minimalistic in space also didn't stop them from serving stuffs beyond drinks. They did have pastries along with toast, sandwich, and bagel; of which the latter ones were made to order. As for the drinks, they had various options within their coffee, matcha, as well as refreshers. Most variations were combo of syrup and toppings 'play'. I got their Pistachio Bliss, which seemed to be #1 favorite on Yelp. Drink size, milk, and topping quantity were kinda customizable. I got mine with almond milk and picked the medium 16oz, as well as requesting slightly less pistachio cream top. The pistachio syrup was bit too fragrant for my liking and the coffee was so-so. I visited on a Sunday morning a bit after they opened. They don't have a sign out front so it was difficult to know where it was located until I saw someone walking out. The cashier was unsure about the dairy in the drinks but I was glad the barista was clear. I placed my order and the cashier repeated the order, but somehow still got my order wrong. She charged me for a larger size. This place is on the pricier side, for one 16 oz drink and one 24 oz drink with milk modifications my total was $17.50. The matcha was tasty, but I didn't taste any ube. The place got very busy and jam packed very quickly. It's very cutesy, but the tables are very low, definitely not good for eating. My friend and I are Einspänner addicts. We've tried it in countless places, from LA to SF -- and more often than not, we're disappointed. It's usually too sweet, fake-tasting, or just... off. We stumbled upon this spot completely by accident while searching for a nearby coffee shop with Einspänner on Yelp. Honestly, we didn't expect much -- just figured we'd give it a shot. But WOW. We were blown away. The Einspänner here is on another level. Smooth, rich, perfectly balanced -- none of that artificial syrupy aftertaste we've had in other places. My friend had the classic one with vanilla syrup, and I went for the raspberry-flavored one (I think it was called "Pink something" -- can't remember the exact name). Both were heavenly. Beautifully presented, too. We were genuinely shocked at how good it was. No exaggeration: we almost died from happiness. I loved it so much I came back the very next day just to get it again -- and plan to keep coming back to try all the flavors. At first I was surprised there wasn't a long line out the door, but the barista told us they only opened five weeks ago. Honestly, this place deserves to blow up. It's THAT good. I usually order 25% sweet at most boba shops, I told her that, and it came out perfect for me. She took such care in crafting my drink - it looked beautiful! And in addition to some regular plain straws, she has a few heart shaped ones in the mix. SO CUTE! I hope she keeps these around...they look expensive, so I'd understand if they're not a regular item in the future. I would get this drink again in a heartbeat. It was a lovely mix of flavors and textures. Cold drinks come in two different sizes - 12 & 16oz. It looked like there were two sizes for hot as well...my next try will be a hot latte! Parking was easy on the street at 2 in the afternoon on a weekday. Free for 1 hr on Glenoaks.
