Another porto's visit again! Post workout, we had to come through to here to get our usual snag of potato balls, cheese rolls and strawberry banana smoothie. Everything comes out quickly and I just love how far your dollar goes here. The costs haven't changed here surprisingly and the food is always so fresh and crispy! The food lasts very well through several drives up back to NorCal and the food continues to be 10/10.
I came a little before 11am and it was already packed. There were two lines going: one on the cafe side and the other on the bakery side of things. Both sides were always long but it was pretty easy to get through. The service staff was efficient in getting orders taken and processing payment. I ordered a match latte with oat milk and it was so good. Best part? They don't up charge for oat milk substitution. I also ordered a bowl of their corn soup, which I believe is a summer special. This soup eats was so flavorful and has the consistency of a chowder but without the cream. The sweetness of the corn countered by the nice heat from the roasted poblano peppers was such a nice combination that I'm already thinking about the next time I can eat it. It was served with a nicely toasted baguette that was perfect for dunking. Although I also ordered a turkey sandwich, I was already full from the chowder and latte alone. I took the sandwich to go. I later ate half of it while stuck in afternoon traffic on my drive home. The croissant was baked fresh and that difference in quality stands out. As you can see from the picture, there are two croissants to the order. All of this food was under $25. I'd say that's a great value. Of course, I couldn't leave without picking up some of their cheese rolls to share back home. Need I say more?
Porto's is such a treat! Lately I have been on a mission to treat myself. So I decided to get cheese rolls, guava strudels, and cranberry scones. The Ube Eclair was alright but the Cranberry Scones is my favorite. I also like the All Day Breakfast Empanadas!
Absolutely loved our first experience! There is paid parking in the back of the restaurant, it was a bit hectic ordering I'd advise you look at the full menu online and know what you want. They were not able to tell me what was in some of the sandwiches or what drinks they had, and said to look online. I was already at the counter ordering though so that didn't help. Once we paid for our food they give you a buzzer and will bring g it to you if you're dining in. The food was top quality, fresh and absolutely delicious! Nice patio seating, despite the chaotic ordering process I'd go back over and over for the food!

Honestly, everything we've had here has been amazing (eg tamales, ham and cheese croissant, cubano, guava cheese rolls). All locations are crazy crowded. Recommend ordering ahead so you don't need to wait in line. Lines move fast tho, if you do come unexpectedly. Parking here is also paid metered parking
This is our first time at Porto's in Glendale and it did not disappoint! This place gave us really good vibes from the moment we walked in. I think it helped that we arrived very early on a Sunday. This place opens at 6:30 AM. It wasn't too crazy busy yet but as the morning went along, it did get crazy! I think the secret is to visit this place early! We sat down at a table near the window which was really nice to be able to look out while we enjoyed our Chorizo and Egg Breakfast Sandwich, Breakfast Empanada, Spinach & Feta Empanada, Ham Croquette, Apple Strudel, Cheese Roll and Oatmeal Raisin Cookie. The food is very good with very reasonable pricing. Service is excellent, this place is extremely staffed! Shout out to Ahmed who put our order together in the best way possible with a lot of attention to detail. The seating is clean, bright and plentiful. The service staff regularly checks and maintains the cleanliness of the bathrooms. Pat Parking in the front and surrounding areas.
First time coming here with my husband when we go to Los Angeles again I want to eat there and get the whole experience. The food was good. Was it something to be like I need to have it again no. The staff they were okay. One guy was awesome and helped me. The one who took order I don't know if he was shy or what but no smile no eye contact. The place is nice and huge. Looks clean as well. I will say try it out.
Came here for the first time and was pleasantly surprised, ordered the turkey bacon sandwich and a strawberry matcha both were so fresh and so amazing. Also shoutout to Shay for the amazing customer service, she's always smiling and doing her best for us and everyone around her as well. Thanks Shay, we will be back. Thanks Porto's!!
Family barbecue... I was asked to bring dessert, what better than this amazing fruit tart from Porto's! Obviously had to come early to beat the crowds, as this place is not only busy but extremely popular! I have to admit on the several times we have come, excellent customer service every single time! Obviously, we ordered a few other items that are our favorites - chicken and ham, croquettes, meat pies, and of course, a chocolate chip cookie! Obviously, everybody loved and enjoyed dessert, thanks Portos!
I love Porto's. Their food is consistently excellent at all locations and I appreciate that their prices aren't crazy like most things these days. I came at breakfast time on a Saturday and the line was out the door. Fortunately, the line moves. It was challenging to find a table inside. The breakfast wrap was delicious and I could not get enough of the salsa that came with it. The cappuccino was the perfect accompaniment to the breakfast wrap. It was a little challenging to get a fork. I learned they only have it at the register so be sure to ask for it when you're checking out. Good job to Porto's for knowing that their food is excellent and popular and staffing their restaurant accordingly.
The famous Porto's. Everywhere you go in Glendale, you see people with Porto's boxes. Of course I had to go there. I found it right down the street with ample parking on the street. Once inside, it is huge with seemingly 2 areas that look similar, although one side says "Bakery". The bakery side is even bigger with more choices. In the middle is where you can order coffee. In the bakery, you can can choose breakfast sandwiches and I ordered a chorizo breakfast sandwich which was very good! We also got their famous potato balls which have meat and cheese inside. The tricky part is that they give you a buzzer and you actually have to go to another part of the store (the other side and toward the back) to pick up your sandwich. I found this place to have beautiful looking pastries which taste very good. It's convenient and the entire place is a machine with very efficient workers that get you in and out. Overall good.
One of my all time favorite bakeries, and Porto's locations. Always very crowded, but worth it for the food. We sat outside because there was no indoor seating available. It was quite hot and close to the road, but there weren't other options. Very lively ambiance. I usually don't come here to dine in, just order bakery items, but their bakery and fresh food is both equally good. We ordered the ropa vieja plate, a sandwich and matcha latte (the jasmine blue one). The ropa vieja is one of my favorite things to get, the meat is incredibly tender and juicy. I love their rice as well, which pairs well with the meat and beans. I'm not a big fan of the plantains or caramelized banana that comes with it, just because I cant get used to the texture and sweetness. Their sandwiches are top tier, I usually get the Medianoche which is excellent ! The matcha was also pretty good, more milky and not a strong tea flavor. Still a good drink! Recommend Porto's for everyone! For bakery items, our favorite is the cheese rolls and the potato balls. They also have excellent cakes. Be prepared for busy crowded store at any location, but the service is always patient and accommodating even when packed.

The food here is always good at an affordable price. I love the candied bacon and my wife always gets the Cilantro Salad. The servers are also very friendly and efficient, Shaylynn helped us out this last time and was amazing. My wife is still waiting for the Veggie Sandwich that they had here before COVID but would definitely recommend if you're in the area. read more

I touched down in the LA area at 7 AM and I was looking for a great spot for breakfast. AI recommended Porto's bakery and Café because of its popularity and the fact that they had a location close to my hotel. I was so impressed! It's obviously a very busy restaurant, but they have two locations to order and they move the line so quickly because you first order from the bakery and then you can order sandwiches and coffee when you get to the register. For dine in your order is brought to your table. I wanted to try a sampling of everything so we ordered two different breakfast sandwiches, a cinnamon roll and two of their Cuban inspired breaded potato balls. We added two coffees to our order and our total ended up being somewhere around $30 which I felt was amazing. I was so glad that we ordered a variety of food options and baked items and wished I would've had the appetite to eat more because everything I had was delicious and unique and everything in the cases looked just as delicious. Food quality, service, wonderful atmosphere Portos bakery, and Café has it all. read more
4/5/26 Spring Break parting snacks We can't seem to come to SoCal without grabbing boxes of PORTOS Togo! PORTOS known for their cheese rolls and more is a Cuban bakery franchise in SoCal. We always grab a couple dozen of cheese rolls, guava/cheese rolls, few potato balls (new seafood ones avail), cookies, croissants, sandwiches, coffee, juices Togo. We've also ordered online frozen ones to bake at home but it's simply not the same as getting it among the busy ordering line chaos...ha! read more

So many amazing yummy creative options we wanted to sample so pre-ordered cheese roll, ham croquette, blueberry cheese croissant, yuzu and calamansi eclair, one of each. Seasonal pastries are fun. Recommend pre ordering so you don't have to wait in lines which get long and busy on weekends especially. Bustling interior but good amount of seating but if not can also walk around 10 minutes to nearby Americana or Galleria to enjoy the pastries as well! read more
:/ Was so excited to bring these to my family. My mom commented on the long line and I told her I'd bring her some to try for the first time. Everyone was disappointed. There is so much of the pastry and very little filling. I've been noticing this the past few time when my boss brings them in so I typically stay away from the guava strudel but I remember when they used to be so gooey and the filling actually "filled" the pastry as close to the border/corners are possible. Now, just the two middle bites have filling. It was also so thin and too crispy on the edges. I hate when I'm excited to show someone something and it disappoints. They look good, but just did not meet my expectations again. It's literally a fear of me and it's the reason I hate suggesting restaurants, because if they hate the food, it's my fault. Anyway, probably won't be in to make anybody's for a while now. At least it was lively, because it was overfilled with people since there are not enough tables. Couldn't even work on my computer for 5 minutes. I had to use my laptop on the register counter as I waited to be charged. read more

Did you even go to LA if you didn't stop by Porto's It's always a long line but moves quickly. Staff is helpful and welcoming. Meter parking outside but we chose to park in the neighborhood and walk over. Very big and plenty of seating inside. They're known for their pastries but also have cakes, drinks and sandwiches. Our go-to pastry items are the potato croquet, guava and cheese strudel - flaky and flavorful. Would love to try the tuna melt next time since it seemed to be another popular item! When I came to Los Angeles I didn't want to get the hype of this place so I would never even try to attempt to try it. Also I'm also not fond of one of my husband's relatives opinion so I would think this place just wasn't good. Wow did I miss out, this is my second time trying it and their second location. Love, love absolutely love Porto's!!!! Unfortunately and fortunately I'm about 5hrs away. It's a wonderful treat when I'm in the area! I went again today and asked the sales girl to give me a bread that isn't burned, she came from the kitchen and said "I gave you the best one" I came home and had to cut off half the bread because it was burned and tasted awful, I just want a bread that isn't black and burned and tastes like charcoal. read more

My daughter moved to Glendale a couple years ago and I get excited about visiting her because I know I get to dine at Porto's!!!! I love their chicken dinner with black beans and fried plantains. I love Porto's! Their staff are always welcoming, accommodating and willing to make you feel at home. I recently tried their Tuna Melt and it's delicious! I love how they don't skimp out on the tuna quantity. I also really liked their clam chowder. And of course my go-to's are the refugiados, the cheese and guava pastries. Everyone raves about the cubano, potato balls, and pastries but I think the tuna melt is the best item on the menu. Very sad that it's seasonal, but it's back now :p Might be the best tuna melt in LA. If you know of a better tuna melt for $8.99, might I trouble you to send your suggestions my way? The green onion to tuna ratio is most judiciously correct. The roasted poblano & red pepper sourdough is toasted to perfection - crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, the slight tang of the bread creates the most divine taste. Simple ingredients, but their marriage proves far greater than any of the ingredients alone. The employees are most helpful, and today I learned you need not wait in line if ordering any of the hot foods (sandwiches, combo plates, etc). The line is only necessary should you wish to have a pastry or anything in the cases. I love people watching outside, with the sounds of lively salsa blaring in the background. Line is pretty long during lunch time on the weekdays, but I'm usually in and out within 30 minutes. Not sure of the parking situation but I usually park in the neighborhood and walk over. read more

Overall 3.5 stars I had heard amazing things about this bakery so while we lived in LA, we had to try this spot! The parking wasn't too bad, and this spot was crowded! I mean the line was about 40 mins or so, but we were determined. Inside gets loud and busy. We tried a few of their baked goods, the smaller cakes (tiramisu and something with guava), along with their potato balls. The food didn't live up to the hype in my opinion. Perhaps i felt like that becuase the wait wasn't worth it, but i had mixed feelings about the flavor and the taste of everything. The customer service was excellent through, they are thorough and have a great system going to manage crowds. Overall I am glad I got to try this spot that I had been meaning to try for so long read more

Very disappointing experience. I placed my order the night before, around 10 PM, and scheduled it to be ready at 6:50 AM. The whole point of ordering ahead was to save time before work. However, when I arrived , my order was still not ready. When I told the employee that my pickup time was 6:50 AM, her response was, "Oh, I didn't know that." That is not an acceptable excuse when customers are relying on scheduled pickup times. To make matters worse, my coffee was made incorrectly. I paid extra for an additional shot and for condensed milk , but my drink didn't have any or any dulce de leche in it. Because I was already running late for work due to the delay, I didn't have time to return and have the drink corrected. I paid for items I didn't receive and was inconvenienced by an order that was not prepared at the promised time. I expect better service and attention to detail, especially when customers place orders in advance. read more

I wished I had discovered Porto's earlier than I did, but I've been making up for it ever since! I always stay at a nearby motel in Glendale when I'm on vacation in the LA area. I now always go to Porto's for my breakfast of coffee and ham and cheese breakfast croissant. The coffee is excellent and the food is always fresh and of high quality. Everyone who works here are always so pleasant and helpful. It's so nice to enjoy a meal at one of their tables. They have a great system where you place a beeper at your table and they know where to bring your order by it's location, inside or outside. I've also enjoyed a couple of dinners here and just HAVE TO pick up some desserts. Summer's special treat are their fresh peach tartlets...I just placed a large order of things to drive home with as I head back to the SF area, vacation sadly over. I wish we had a Porto's close to home.... read more
It was absolutely packed today because of memorial day weekend but they handled it really well and it wasn't that crazy of a wait. They also kept the place clean during such a high volume of people. The food and pastries are really good and I feel like I got a great deal for everything. read more

I bought cheese rolls and potato balls. Should I store them in the refrigerator or countertop for the next few days?
I start them in the box on the countertop. When I needed to warm them up, I use my air fryer.
If I order ahead for pickup is there a way to get my pastries and croquettes warmed or is that not possible for pickup?
The croquettes are usually warmed and hot. The pastries are usually not, but depends on what you are getting.
Can you reheat frozen guava roll in air fryer?
You can definitely reheat a Frozen Guava Roll! I recommend you defrost it first if you don't want the guave to ooze out as you warm it up!
Is your mango mousse cake still good after two days in the fridge?
The mango flavor starts to fade the longer you leave it in the fridge but I haven't had any issues since it never lasts more than 2-3 days in my house lol.

Yes, but you can only order pastries and drinks. No sandwiches, soups, or salads .
