I sure do like my Paris Baguette! Looks like I try to hit every Paris Baguette store at various locations. So far I have been the the ones in OC to LA and even to Las Vegas! Always a pleasant experience at these bakeries. This Glendale bakery café was clean, bright, and beautifully organized with a large variety of pastries, cakes, and drinks on display. I tried the Strawberry Soft Cream Cake, Berries cake, Curry Croquette, and their signature iced Korean lattes. The pastries were soft and flavorful without being overly sweet, and the cakes looked just as good as they tasted. The curry croquette wasn't a favorite of mine. It was my first time trying and the spices didn't amaze my palette. I will have to try their garlic bread next time if I feel like getting something savory. Their sweets are always a hit for me! Paris Baguette is a South Korean bakery chain founded in Seoul in 1988. It now has more than 4,400 locations worldwide, including over 3,700 in South Korea and roughly 700 international stores. The stores are clean, the service is perfectly fine, and there's a wide selection of baked goods. That said, I find the pastries overpriced for what you get. Most of the items I've tried have been average at best, especially considering the premium prices. The pastel de nata was disappointing--I've had much better versions at local dim sum restaurants. The black coffee was also a letdown. It was so bitter that I needed to add milk to make it drinkable, and I'm someone who normally enjoys black coffee. Overall, it's a convenient option if you're nearby and there aren't any better bakeries around, but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit. read more

Be careful buying bread here. On Monday, July 20th, I purchased a loaf of bread. When I opened it on Wednesday, July 22nd, I discovered that there was already mold inside. I returned to the store to request an exchange, but I was told that it is the customer's responsibility to check the expiration date. The staff pointed to a "Beyond Use Date" on the bottom of the packaging labeled July 20th. It is also the store's responsibility to not sell expired item. I went through the bread that were on the shelf with the worker and most of them had expiration date for the same day. If the bread is freshly baked each morning as they claim, it is unclear how it could expire on the same day it was made. I bought bread from Paris Baguette for many years, I have never experienced bread molding within one to two days. While the issue with the product itself is frustrating, I am most disappointed by how the situation was handled by the team. Also, I suggest putting the expiration date where it's visible so that customers can responsibly purchase bread. read more

Update: After my original review, the manager reached out through Yelp and asked me to contact them by email. I did, and they requested a copy of my receipt, which I sent promptly. Unfortunately, after that, I never heard back. It's disappointing because it initially seemed like they wanted to make things right, but nothing was ever resolved. Giving away a cake that had been pre-ordered two weeks in advance for my daughter's birthday was already incredibly frustrating. I've been to their Glendale, NoHo, and newest Montrose locations. NoHo is one of my favorites -- great customer service, fresh and affordable pastries, and delicious cakes. The birthday cake I got was excellent and came with a spatula and candles (very convenient!). Go early for the best pastry selection, as they sell out fast. Very middle of the road bakery. Got the tiramisu, but they only had 3 single slice options. I wouldn't get it again for the price. The craziest part of my experience was the store didn't have forks!!! They said they were out...and to use a spoon or knife. I came to this place to get a cake- soufflé cheesecake which was airy, light, fluffy, sweet, and delicious. Very impressive with their cake because it had right amount of sweetness with good flavor of cheese. I also tried some of their baked goods and coffee which were decent. Service was good and they provided candles for the cake. This place was hidden and surrounded by other restaurants in a small compound lot but It has nice decors inside and some tables to sit inside. read more

Be warned of "the tray" .............. it can hold a lot of goodies. We limited ourselves to the 2 pastries that I have pictured. Both pastries were very flaky and light. The croissant was airy and had the right amount of sweet chocolate inside it. The other pastry had a sweetened cream cheese filling side-by-side with a very fruit heavy sweet preserve. This is a small location compare to the down town LA location. It was not crowded for a Saturday morning with plenty of parking spots. I ordered Moca which was so yummy. Great for a tasty little treat. My favorites are the Dubai mochi doughnuts & the milk bread. For the most part, everything sweet is pretty good... But not the coffee. Three times I have gotten coffee where it's completely full of grounds. I'm talking mouthfuls and I'm not even at the bottom of the cup. So maybe resist getting the coffee but sweet treats are a heck yeah. Update: the pistachio mochi doughnut tastes like rotten toothpaste and has officially made me rethink my love of sweets. I've been a long-time customer of Paris Baguette, but ever since the ownership change and the hiring of Ayleen, things have changed significantly, and not for the better. I come here often and have tried to give them multiple chances, but today was honestly the last straw. They recently hired a new employee who clearly had no training and didn't know anything about the products. Ayleen, who was in the back, made no effort to help him. I came in to buy a birthday cake, and they've always included a "Happy Birthday" chocolate plaque on it. Not too much to ask, right? The new employee just looked at me, completely confused. I told him to ask Ayleen, and he came back saying, "We don't do that." Yes, you do. Then he admitted that the cake decorators weren't there. What kind of bakery doesn't have properly trained staff or basic cake accessories like a "Happy Birthday" plaque, especially when you know your customers expect it? Their cakes aren't cheap either, which makes it even more frustrating. On top of that, Ayleen creates a very uncomfortable environment. She always looks annoyed or upset, like you're bothering her just by walking in. And finally, if you know the Blueberry Chiffon is one of your top-selling cakes, how do you not have it available on a Sunday? Just a terrible experience overall. read more

I come here once every other week before heading to my hypnotherapist appointment. I don't get here until at least 445pm and by that time a lot of their stuff are gone. And everytime I ask for certain items, the staff appears to check the back and will come out to say that "we don't have any". It may or may not be true. The iced milk coffee and the pastries are amazing. Iced (whole) milk coffee was amazing, strong and perfectly flavored. Almond pastries, coffee danish, and fleuillette au chocolaite... my new go to orders. Flaky dough, not overly sweet, and flavorful. You can't go wrong with these choices.
