    Time for dessert AUG2025

Sunday Funday donut day. I stopped by to purchase our office pool Lottery tickets and to exchange some winning Scratcher tickets. The donuts are fresh tasting and are not over sweetened. They have mini tables so you can kick back and enjoy your sweet treats and scratch away at your Lottery tickets too.

    Mixed donuts and donut holes.

Christina's Donuts shop is in a mini shopping center. Parking is a little tight. The lady at the counter is so sweet. I picked up a box of donuts and donut holes. I couldn't wait to get home to eat them. Figured I'll have 1-2 donut holes, but ended eating more than 1-2. So good. The donuts are fresh -- soft and fluffy. Can't wait to have more.

Christina's is open 24/7 so why when I arrive on a weekday around 7:30AM do you have a poor selection of donuts? They did though have my go to Apple Fritter so all is well, sort of! Apple Fritter ($1.75) https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/christinas-donuts-glendale?select=f6LqfB4KC4vMuAIqTRZ7KA Looks pretty good unfortunately taste wise it was just ok at best.... It needed a bit more cinnamon and vanilla https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/christinas-donuts-glendale?select=9Ouz-hW5I-Q2m-wG8z25-A and I found ZERO Apples in an Apple Fritter! It was a decent donut but an apple-less fritter fail! 2-Stars

I had gone nearby to Big Jim's first because they had a better Yelp rating but they literally had no donuts. I came here because I REALLY WANTED A DONUT! These were not the best nor were they the worst, but at least they had donuts. I ate a chocolate twist, a glazed filled with cherry filling (I squeezed out the filling) and I had a couple of bites of an apple fritter. All of the donuts were small and thin so pretty easy to chomp down a few. I did like that the chocolate glazed wasn't too sweet or heavy with chocolate flavor so if you really, really love chocolate you probably won't love this.

DON'T BUY THESE DONUTS!!! After discovering that the inside of my donut was completely raw, I called the establishment and the owner took zero responsibility for the raw donut. She accused me of lying and refused to toss out the other donuts she had on display. After reviewing their yelp page I noticed that they have numerous health code violations! I regret ever buying donuts from this place... BE AWARE!

Came here cuz I didn't know what I wanted to eat for the night. This place is just one of those local & typical sketchy donut places so don't expect much. I'm just giving a review right now cuz I felt like the milk tea smoothie I got deserves it. It tasted good; not too bad, not too good. I got it without boba too so don't apply my compliment to their boba here Lol.

(Snacked 01/13/16 W @ 1:00am): This late-night adventure with old Christina shouldn't have happened! An evening of catching up, drinking, and grubbing with a life-long friend was capped off at Christina's Donuts among the juxtposition of erected skeletons of new apartment complexes and the overpriced Americana at the intersection of Colorado St. and Brand Blvd. Truth be told, this was the second stop in my passive search for the best apple fritter (the first place we went to was sold out). Was it worth the extra effort!?: Apple Fritter ($1.50) - Not that I was an apple fritter snob - fuck it...yes I was! - but there was a certain way I liked mine. First, the price was on-par with other comparable ones I've eaten. Second, it didn't have much girth and although not the size of my face (an ode to the great Goldstar Donuts) it was the size of my hand. Third, there was a minimal amount of apple bits in each bite. Fourth, the overall deep dark brown color was appealing like a tanned beauty at the beach! It had many crunchy odd crannies, corners, and nooks which I liked to break off into small little morsels. Fifth, it had been out for awhile and not warm, and there were no hints of tiny oil pockets that leaked into your mouth and dripped down your throat; and, it had a doughy texture. All in all, I knew better than to expect a fresh fritter past midnight, but the price, size, lack of apple, and doughiness left a bad taste in my mouth. http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=a-y3NqaFIY-eAh6OPAom5w&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Glazed Twist Bar ($0.80) - I grabbed a pinch of my friend's donut just to try. It wasn't warm and truly nothing to write home about. Heck...I've wasted enough time on this already! Minute Maid Orange Juice Medium Size ($1.75) - I took a small swig of my friend's OJ. Other than pricey, what else needed to be said!? Service - There was a sole older Asian gentleman who came out from the kitchen and greeted us once we entered. He patiently waited for us to make our decisions, we chit-chatted through his broken English, paid, and sat at a table while he disappeared into the back. A pretty straightforward effort. Parking (Free) - They shared a narrow barely 16-spot private lot with about five other businesses - Yoshinoya being the largest business. Otherwise, there was metered parking on all surrounding streets (valid daily from 8:00am-8:00pm) or free at the nearby Glendale Galleria and just walk it. Atmosphere, décor, ambience - Your typical donut/drinks/sandwich stand with the main feature the counter display of fried tasty pastries as you entered http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=TZzM8bZOXjsBH-CIX_3Mkw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw, a refrigerator with cold drinks and an ATM on your right http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=9QbTdAZF-oFulVnIoH7bOA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw, a colorful and somewhat easy-to-read visual menu board above and behind the counter http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=sbWwMpnwaSmdM6nbC-HXLg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw, yet surprisingly no packaged snacks. A handful of formica tables with egg yolk-colored benches were placed about in the front and back. Soul-sucking fluorescent ceiling lighting covered this place although the large front glass walls allowed for natural lighting during the daytime. There were no TVs, but there seemed to be a radio that played from the kitchen. http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=R7_CAXD-0GMS_esbgzKWVw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Attire - Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Overall, I wouldn't make a another date with Christina's Donuts anytime soon; I wasn't that desperate. As with most donut shops these days, they were diversified and also served bagels, croissants, muffins, sandwiches, various drinks, and I should at least try their boba in hopes for some redeeming quality. They were 24 Hours which was always a plus, but for what I wanted I didn't care for. I found decent value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $4.00; no tip required). And, CASH ONLY http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=sdY47Es_oRzBMhZYBj6LMQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw so no credit cards accepted especially mine of choice...AMEX! 2.5 STARS

You're given a buzzer when you order, and my sandwich took about 20 minutes on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered Nicko's Favorite. It is huge, that's why they cut it into two, loaded and definitely shareable. Bread is fresh and filled with mortadella, salami, pistachio, mozzarella and arugula. Could use more sauce/glaze, but nevertheless every bite was delicious! The staff were friendly and seriously some of the yummiest sandwiches. Nickos Favorite is now our favorite lol. I drove for a few seconds around the corner and parked on the street and walked over to the Verdugo Dairy lot which is where the Nickos Sandwich Truck is located. The truck is so cute and small and fits perfectly in the lot without taking up too much space. I looked at the menu and honestly all the sandwiches looked so good that it was hard to just choose one, but I wanted breakfast so I went with the Plain Breakfast Sandwich. I was asked how I want my egg cooked and I chose sunny side up. Options for cheese were swiss or provolone and I couldn't decide and I was able to get a slice of both on my sandwich! I also ordered a bread pudding on the side. After ordering I was given a little buzzer that would go off when my food is ready. I hung out and didn't wait too long until my buzzer went off and it was a nice loud beeping that would be easy to hear if I had left it in my pocket. After the food is ready then you pay. When I went back to my car and I couldn't help myself I ripped open the bag and I was in awe of my sandwich. Look at my photos, do you see that melty stretch of cheese that is so perfect??????????? The brioche bun is soft and fluffy, the egg seasoned with salt and pepper perfectly and cooked to perfection, and the cheese is stretchy and gooey and so delicious. Was I licking the wrapper when I was done? Maybe! If I could give more than 5 stars for my sandwich I would! I love me a banana pudding and I thought I was going to wait to eat it at home, however I could not control myself I popped it open and I gobbled it down. So creamy and delicious with just the right amount of crumbled nilla wafers. I am not in Glendale too often, but you can bet that when I am, I'll be stopping by again! Thank you Nickos for an amazing and satisfying breakfast!

Well matched to its…read moreupscale shops and the Italian restaurant next door, Delucas offers pricey, tasty sandwiches and paninis in a relaxed atmosphere. I came on a sunny Saturday afternoon; the interior is upscale, open, with products in the shelf and a menu written on the wall. I made my way to the front to placed my order, with the staff friendly, but not effusive, who made a couple suggestions at my request. I ended up getting the Fig and Pig Panini ($16), which was absolutely excellent, featuring slow-roasted pork, white cheddar cheese, and sweet pieces of fig and fig jam on thin, perfectly crispy piece of thin, toasted ciabatta bread. A perfect combination of sweet and savory, this was as good as previous Yelp reviews suggest, but was tragically quite small (see attached photo). With it I ordered an iced cappuccino ($5.25), which was good, especially with a cinnamon sprinkle on top, but quite small for the price. Unfortunately, over half of it was foam--more than expected even for a cappuccino-style drink. The interior was clean but quite busy. I had to wait about 15 minutes for my food, and the restaurant appeared somewhat understaffed, with many tables needing to be bussed and cleaned. Although I was warned of the wait and the tables were cleaned about 10 minutes in, for an upscale establishment like this, I would hope for more consistent upkeep and slightly more staff. Prices, above, are a bit elevated and somewhat disproportionate to the quantity of food provided. However, given the ritzy, popular setting, they are not entirely unreasonable. If you're looking an upscale, delicious Italian sandwich in the heart of the Glendale Galleria, you'd be hard-pressed to do better than Deluca's. Not really sure what bread specifically but seemed a bit like French rolls. Crunch crusts with soft middles which helped to cradle the fillings and absorb the delicious meat juices. The pastrami was great and not overly salty. It had a great zing from the crunchy pickles and mustard. The Philly was nice and gooey. The beef had great texture and was dripping with flavor (literally). Both were very good but I personally liked the pastrami better. If you like meat though, neither will disappoint. We will be back to try the other sandwiches. The only down side to our visit was buying sodas at the store. Their prices weren't listed and in my head, I expected them to be $3 or so.
