    Time for dessert AUG2025

Sunday Funday donut day. I stopped by to purchase our office pool Lottery tickets and to exchange some winning Scratcher tickets. The donuts are fresh tasting and are not over sweetened. They have mini tables so you can kick back and enjoy your sweet treats and scratch away at your Lottery tickets too.

    Mixed donuts and donut holes.

Christina's Donuts shop is in a mini shopping center. Parking is a little tight. The lady at the counter is so sweet. I picked up a box of donuts and donut holes. I couldn't wait to get home to eat them. Figured I'll have 1-2 donut holes, but ended eating more than 1-2. So good. The donuts are fresh -- soft and fluffy. Can't wait to have more.

Christina's is open 24/7 so why when I arrive on a weekday around 7:30AM do you have a poor selection of donuts? They did though have my go to Apple Fritter so all is well, sort of! Apple Fritter ($1.75) https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/christinas-donuts-glendale?select=f6LqfB4KC4vMuAIqTRZ7KA Looks pretty good unfortunately taste wise it was just ok at best.... It needed a bit more cinnamon and vanilla https://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/christinas-donuts-glendale?select=9Ouz-hW5I-Q2m-wG8z25-A and I found ZERO Apples in an Apple Fritter! It was a decent donut but an apple-less fritter fail! 2-Stars

DON'T BUY THESE DONUTS!!! After discovering that the inside of my donut was completely raw, I called the establishment and the owner took zero responsibility for the raw donut. She accused me of lying and refused to toss out the other donuts she had on display. After reviewing their yelp page I noticed that they have numerous health code violations! I regret ever buying donuts from this place... BE AWARE!

I had gone nearby to Big Jim's first because they had a better Yelp rating but they literally had no donuts. I came here because I REALLY WANTED A DONUT! These were not the best nor were they the worst, but at least they had donuts. I ate a chocolate twist, a glazed filled with cherry filling (I squeezed out the filling) and I had a couple of bites of an apple fritter. All of the donuts were small and thin so pretty easy to chomp down a few. I did like that the chocolate glazed wasn't too sweet or heavy with chocolate flavor so if you really, really love chocolate you probably won't love this.

Came here cuz I didn't know what I wanted to eat for the night. This place is just one of those local & typical sketchy donut places so don't expect much. I'm just giving a review right now cuz I felt like the milk tea smoothie I got deserves it. It tasted good; not too bad, not too good. I got it without boba too so don't apply my compliment to their boba here Lol.

(Snacked 01/13/16 W @ 1:00am): This late-night adventure with old Christina shouldn't have happened! An evening of catching up, drinking, and grubbing with a life-long friend was capped off at Christina's Donuts among the juxtposition of erected skeletons of new apartment complexes and the overpriced Americana at the intersection of Colorado St. and Brand Blvd. Truth be told, this was the second stop in my passive search for the best apple fritter (the first place we went to was sold out). Was it worth the extra effort!?: Apple Fritter ($1.50) - Not that I was an apple fritter snob - fuck it...yes I was! - but there was a certain way I liked mine. First, the price was on-par with other comparable ones I've eaten. Second, it didn't have much girth and although not the size of my face (an ode to the great Goldstar Donuts) it was the size of my hand. Third, there was a minimal amount of apple bits in each bite. Fourth, the overall deep dark brown color was appealing like a tanned beauty at the beach! It had many crunchy odd crannies, corners, and nooks which I liked to break off into small little morsels. Fifth, it had been out for awhile and not warm, and there were no hints of tiny oil pockets that leaked into your mouth and dripped down your throat; and, it had a doughy texture. All in all, I knew better than to expect a fresh fritter past midnight, but the price, size, lack of apple, and doughiness left a bad taste in my mouth. http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=a-y3NqaFIY-eAh6OPAom5w&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Glazed Twist Bar ($0.80) - I grabbed a pinch of my friend's donut just to try. It wasn't warm and truly nothing to write home about. Heck...I've wasted enough time on this already! Minute Maid Orange Juice Medium Size ($1.75) - I took a small swig of my friend's OJ. Other than pricey, what else needed to be said!? Service - There was a sole older Asian gentleman who came out from the kitchen and greeted us once we entered. He patiently waited for us to make our decisions, we chit-chatted through his broken English, paid, and sat at a table while he disappeared into the back. A pretty straightforward effort. Parking (Free) - They shared a narrow barely 16-spot private lot with about five other businesses - Yoshinoya being the largest business. Otherwise, there was metered parking on all surrounding streets (valid daily from 8:00am-8:00pm) or free at the nearby Glendale Galleria and just walk it. Atmosphere, décor, ambience - Your typical donut/drinks/sandwich stand with the main feature the counter display of fried tasty pastries as you entered http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=TZzM8bZOXjsBH-CIX_3Mkw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw, a refrigerator with cold drinks and an ATM on your right http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=9QbTdAZF-oFulVnIoH7bOA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw, a colorful and somewhat easy-to-read visual menu board above and behind the counter http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=sbWwMpnwaSmdM6nbC-HXLg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw, yet surprisingly no packaged snacks. A handful of formica tables with egg yolk-colored benches were placed about in the front and back. Soul-sucking fluorescent ceiling lighting covered this place although the large front glass walls allowed for natural lighting during the daytime. There were no TVs, but there seemed to be a radio that played from the kitchen. http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=R7_CAXD-0GMS_esbgzKWVw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw Attire - Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. Overall, I wouldn't make a another date with Christina's Donuts anytime soon; I wasn't that desperate. As with most donut shops these days, they were diversified and also served bagels, croissants, muffins, sandwiches, various drinks, and I should at least try their boba in hopes for some redeeming quality. They were 24 Hours which was always a plus, but for what I wanted I didn't care for. I found decent value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $4.00; no tip required). And, CASH ONLY http://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=sdY47Es_oRzBMhZYBj6LMQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw so no credit cards accepted especially mine of choice...AMEX! 2.5 STARS

Chocolate Bar was probably one of the freshest tasting donuts I've had in Glendale. I'll be sure to visit again.

Good donuts with a slightly buttery taste. I think maybe Butter flavored... just enough to notice without it being overwhelming.

I'm always on the hunt for a Piroshki, one of my favorite delights that I think originated in…read moreRussia and is East European by origin. I think Papillon is Armenian which I believe has European cuisine, as Armenia is considered geographically to be within Western Asia (the Middle East) and the South Caucasus region. Sitting within the mountainous Armenian Highland, it acts as a transcontinental bridge between Eastern Europe and Asia. Their Piroshki is long and thin, whereas I'm accustomed to them being robust short stocky and round almost resembling a giant baked potato in size and shape. So these look like a "Chinese Donut" a.k.a. Youtiao (油条) in size and shape, same girth but length maybe 6"-8" long. What I liked is the filling of the Beef was minced ground beef with sauteed onion bits mixed into a blend and seasoned with a bit of spice but overall was very moist and juicy and the fried dough was very good. So, I'd recommend that. Oddly, I tried the Beef and Potato reluctantly thinking the pure beef option was going to be better... and the Potato was soft and perfect so I'm thinking they're equally good depending on your mood. I tried the beef empanada, and it was very good, similar flavor of the beef empanada to the piroshki but not exactly the same, otherwise I might say the empanada is bigger and gives more protein of the ground beef. The desert shaped like a peach fruit was very good. It reminded me of Asian style deserts where they're not overly sweet and has a healthy refreshing taste more so than being too overwhelming with thick sugary creams. I found out they have multiple locations. It feels maybe the Armenian and Russian community in So Cal are more toward this area and The Valley, so I do have to take what could be a 60-90 minute journey to come here, and even longer of a commute to their other locations. I think they'd do well in the SBBC (South Bay Beach Cities) down South past Santa Monica but before Long Beach and Orange County. I'd recommend this place for the food and service.
