Long awaited and finally tried it! Yay!! You've done a fantastic job. Specialty selection is unique and Asian inspired(the best) .. flavor of coffee also unique and bold and was a clean buzz.. 16oz latte was strong on its own without extra shot. Suggestion - put a jasmine coffee latte on the menu.. I've had this only once in OC and it was the best latte I ever had.. you can't find it anywhere. As promised I was going to come back to give it another shot! I did believe that the first time I came around it was an off day which everyone is entitled too! This time I got the Iced Mango Sticky Rice Matcha. The matcha was matcha-ing and the mango flavor did not taste synthetic. Of course, I had to add the matcha cinnamon roll which was also yummy. I wish the cinnamon roll had more frosting but that's just me! Glad to know I don't have to go all the way to K-Town to get my fix of some good matcha! Amai Coffee/Tea is a new Filipino inspired coffee and matcha cafe. A fantastic local gem with shops in Glendale and Torrance. This location is at a small business plaza in San Fernando Road in Glendale. I stopped in for a morning Cold coffee drink before going to work. The staff are immediately friendly and welcoming and genuinely pleased to see you. The menu has plenty of options for everybody and some superb coffee drinks. I chose one of their specialties an iced Manila Vanilla, an espresso + organic + roasted vanilla which coast 4.80 quid ($6.50 usd). It was refreshing, smooth, and perfect morning quencher on an 82-degree weather. I really liked it! :D Their drink menu was compendious and fairly priced. Pastries are available. Interior design and layout were very minimal and compact, respectively. However, they do have front outdoor seats facing the parking lot for customers. Atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. Staff were competent and affable. Parking was very limited given they're in a small plaza and gets filled fairly quickly. It is located in a plaza so parking is easy and free. It's a small coffee shop, there's a communal table then there are couple of seats. It's prolly not the best place to work since it could get crowded easily. The staff was pleasant and friendly. I ordered Amai Signature, I love it. The espresso was smooth and it didn't turn out to be super sweet despite the brown sugar, sweet foam and cocoa powder mixture. The mango sticky rice matcha was so good. I love a sweet drink so if you don't like sweet this isn't for you. But you could taste the notes of mango and matcha blended together perfectly. Neither overpowered the other. read more

Excellent service, very fast and friendly even with a only a couple of staff. They have a nice variety of coffee drinks and matcha drinks as well as milk alternatives. It's a small cafe with very limited seating and a small parking lot. Street parking is available and they share their lot with Dinah's chicken which makes it tough during lunch. The coffee is delicious and who doesn't like to support small businesses? I can't wait to come back and try some hot coffee. read more

Loved this cute little spot! Felt lucky to have no line. I ordered the Vietnamese coffee, and the sweet cream on top had the perfect sweet-and-salty flavor. I'm already craving another one. It's a small café with only about 7 to 8 seats, but there's a decent-sized parking lot, and it's absolutely worth the stop. The service was so friendly, and the coffee was delicious. A very solid coffee spot! As a Filipina, I jumped on the idea of a turon banana latte as it was one of my favorite desserts growing up. I got hints of the caramelized sugar but was a little sad that more of the banana flavor didn't shine through, even with the banana foam! I got the mango sticky rice matcha for my husband which he enjoyed but he also lamented in desiring a stronger matcha flavor. We have been here more than once now and ordered the Amai Special latte every time. The first time, it was slightly too sweet for me, so I ordered half the brown sugar the second time and that was perfect. I'll be doing that from now on. This shop is small, has a large communal table inside as well as a couple of pairs of chairs outside. If they would put an umbrella out there for the sun/heat, it would be a really nice little corner spot to hang out in this plaza. They always have nice music playing and a clean restroom on hand. They people here really seem to care about their drinks and have been friendly and kind every time we've been here. There is a small parking lot for the entire plaza, which is feast or famine for spots depending on what time of day you're here. We've come when it's super busy and still found a spot quickly. It's a one way loop thru the parking lot and all of the spaces are angled. Lots of great stuff in this plaza, so grab a coffee from Amai and check out the pananderia and other businesses while you're at it. read more

Delicious drinks! You can see the matcha being made by hand fresh as you wait in line. I loved the hojicha einspanner - the tea was so fragrant. They have unique drinks like the Turo Banana latte that you can't find anywhere else. Their pastries also taste as good as they look. We had the matcha almond croissant which had matcha filling in the middle and it was so good! Service is so friendly and efficient. The space is small inside with just one large table and couple seats on the side, so it can be tight squeeze inside. It's worth a visit though because you can taste the quality. read more

Was really excited to hear that a cute café like Amai was opening near me. We went on a Thursday afternoon and there was a short line. Their menu is incredibly innovative and has a lot of unique flavors, so it was super hard choosing just one. I wanted to try the mango matcha, too and the banana flavors also sounded good. We ended up ordering the Vietnamese coffee and the double matcha. The Vietnamese coffee was good, strong and not too sweet. However, my double matcha was very milky and tasted watered down. Despite it being the strongest matcha on the menu (supposedly), there was no matcha taste at all and it tasted more like just oat milk. The matcha cream on top was tasty and strong but not enough to balance out the milkiness of the matcha latte underneath. I was pretty disappointed, but hopefully it was just a one off. I hope I can come back and try some of the other flavors, and see if the matcha is redeemed. The space itself is super cute with wooden tables and a record player and plants in the corner. There are also chairs and tables outside, and it's located in a plaza with plenty of parking. A pretty convenient and cozy space - I'd opt for the coffee instead of matcha here or skip the double matcha and try a fruit matcha instead. read more

With a specialty Asian inspired drink section and seasonal specials. They all looked really tasty and creative. Went with the following... Saw people hyping up this place on Tik Tok and let's just say... don't trust everything you see on the internet! Came in on a Saturday afternoon & there was no wait! My boyfriend and I ordered the Matcha Einspanner (his with oat milk and mine with regular milk). I was profoundly disappointed... the matcha was lacking in flavor and grainy. All I really tasted was milk.... the cream top had a good amount of sweetness to it, but it's not enough to save the rest of the drink. I wish the matcha was stronger and was whisked better. Surprisingly, my boyfriend's oat milk matcha einspanner tasted stronger in matcha notes than mine, but still wasn't impressive... inconsistency in drinks is an issue that needs to be solved. We were excited to try this place. We looked the evening before coming for the hours. Yelp and Google state that they open at 7 am, but DoorDash said they take orders at 8 am. We figured Google is usually accurate, and 2 out of 3 places saying 7 am would probably mean they open then. We rationalized perhaps they didn't want DoorDash overwhelming them with orders in the morning so they opened orders at 8 am, who knows. We got to Amai at nearly 7:30 am and it was dark, closed. So disappointing, please update your hours, so we don't have to waste a trip. Parking lot was small; we only found parking probably because Amai isn't open and it's early. Mango sticky rice drinks are all the craze on social media right now, so I had to try it myself! On a weekday afternoon, I was greeted and got my order taken promptly. The cafe is very sleek and modern, with a cute vinyl player and plants for decor and a single table for seating. I absolutely love the menu items- you can tell this is a Filipino cafe as not only does it have ube items (ube cruffin - how cute!), it also has pandan and turon- flavored drinks?! The Filipino yam Ube is getting all the craze right now, but pandan and turon- is rare to see, so I was very happy to see this on the menu! I got the mango sticky matcha and the ube cruffin - both were so delicious! The mango sticky matcha really did taste like mango sticky rice (minus the rice part - I'll hopefully find a cafe that includes sticky rice in the drink one day), and the cruffin was so flaky and had a luxurious ube cream inside. Wow!! New favorite spot or what?! I wish the parking lot was better... it's one of those one way in, one way out situations and extremely small. We parked around the back just on the street and walked over. There is a Vons lot next door but not sure if there is any security monitoring, so park at your own risk! The line was basically out the door. The inside is very small, few tables and seating inside and hard to wait inside for your drink. Best to wait outside since they keep the door open and will call your name anyway. Thought it was just all Japanese inspired but upon looking at the menu, there are lots of Filipino inspired drinks like Ube, Turon, and Pandan flavors!! Such a nice treat and love seeing more Turon and Pandan on the menu since it's almost always just Ube. Ordered an Amai Signature which was a bit on the sweeter side but we also got the Turon Banana Latte with banana foam and it was fantastic. Perfect sweetness and tastes like the Filipino dessert. One of my favorite coffee shops near me. None of the drinks are overly sweet, which I really appreciate. I also love the variety of drinks--so far I've tried the Manila Vanilla and the Honeycomb, and both were great. The ube cinnamon roll with a side of ube sauce is definitely worth trying. The first few bites were delicious, though it did get a bit sweeter as I kept eating. Since they're fairly new, there isn't a wide selection of pastries or food yet. Seating inside is limited however, so it's more of an order to go kind of cafe, but they do have their own parking lot, which is a plus. Absolutely divine, I will be back! The pandan matcha was so light and delicious, not too sweet but not bitter at all either. The ube cinnamon roll was outstanding and I was blown away, it's the first cinnamon roll I've had outside of home that I would actually have again (and again). I'm so happy to see coffee shops like Amai that showcase Southeast Asian flavors. I've gotten a Pandan Matcha from here and I love it. The service is very chill and the interior is very aesthetic. I usually take my drink home with me because when they get busy the space can feel pretty crowded. Not sure if they still do, but I also remember seeing posters for a run club a few months back. Been seeing this cafe posted up on my tiktok & instagram stories, and i think they really lived up to the hype. We were greeted and taken care of by Johnny. He recommended the Amai Signature which is similar to an einspanner. There's a good amount of seating, not too many. They also sell merchandise like tumblrs & tote bags. Truthfully, i didn't have high expectations for the drinks but from the first sip, i was surprised that i actually really enjoyed it. The amai signature was so yummy! It was the right amount of sweetness and foam. My boyfriend got the Turon Banana, and i liked how the banana flavor isn't overpowering, there's a perfect balance of coffee and flavor. It's located at a little plaza next to a laundry mat & small restaurants. There's an adequate amount of parking but i can see that it may become difficult to find a spot if everyone's doing laundry or dining in.
