Delicious vanilla latte and egg & cheese croissant.

Such a beautiful place. The space is so open and inviting. One side is a coffee and bakery shop and in the middle it's like a work space with cushion seating and on the other side it's a hair salon that feels like a spa. SUPER COOL SPACE! Very zen. Nice customer service and delicious food and drinks! Just the way I like it! I could stay here all day long. There's outside seating as well. Really dope spot. I wonder where did they get that name from, though. Lol. I love this place.

Ghost Bagel, Matcha Donut, Peanut Butter Latte (alright) and Spicy Honey Latte (surprisingly not so bad!)

Cute little coffee shop by the reservoir. Beautiful interior space with lounge-like seating in a U-shaped area, and lots of green and cushions! Small working space, as it seems like a spot to drop by and chill during your walk or run around the reservoir and neighboring area. This shop really caters to the Silver Lake community. It's home to the Silver Lake Track Club, and I loved seeing all their merch for the community posted up! We tried their peanut butter latte and spicy honey latte, and we were... a bit underwhelmed. Lattes weren't anything that wow'd us, as the peanut butter was a bit thick of a drink and had its own preferred taste, and the spicy honey was good, but the spice took a bit of getting used to (made it difficult to pair eating with a pastry or sandwich)... but they're lattes when you need one! We also tried some of their bites like the ghost bagel and matcha donut (matcha donut was nice, wonder where they source it from!), but again, was not completely wow'd for the price and bite. A rather small bagel sandwich on a dense bagel (I loved the idea of bbq shrooms though!). I can see this place for its convenience and charm for the Silver Lake community, especially if you're doing a run around the neighborhood and want to pick something up. But perhaps it didn't have me craving to come back for anything again. I appreciated that their service was quick and prompt, as they had our food and drinks out quickly!

Checking out this coffee place for the first time and love how welcoming it is here. Very nice customer service with BOTH workers that were working and they helped me step out of my comfort zone today. Music isn't too loud and a perfect place to chat or study. Def recommend checking this place out!

    |[ y e e e ]| Always excited to try out coffee shops and what better time than otw to class? Will start with the rough things first-- it's echo park area so parking is horrendous but I lucked out today and got a meter right in front that's still green (thank you stranger lol)! |[ s u g a s u g a ]| They seem to have eccentric flavors such as the peanut butter latte but I avoid added sugars and unfortunately this has a lot of sugar. No sugar-free options here but I hope this is something they'll consider (especially being in health conscious LA). |[ l i k e u a l a t t e ]| My oat milk latte (hot) was pretty good and even though I got it sugar-free the coffee tasted amazing, though there was a slight aftertaste (I suspect the oat milk might have had some added sugars?). But the coffee was strong enough to keep me productive today and overall I still enjoyed it. They had some pastries which I haven't tried, seating area is rly studious and cute!! If parking was not an issue I can def see myself studying here c:. |[ o v e r a l l ]. I like it but parking and no sugar-free options are tragic for me and the reason for my star deduction (though I'd be open to coming back every now and then if it's convenient to where I'm headed)! I come here for the peanut butter drink. It is amazing and, surprising to me from coffee shops, rare to come by. Super friendly people and a lot of dogs. Free candy in the bathroomnot my type but I never had anything like it before!

What a lovely experience when I was here last November. Sorry for the late review. The staff were excellent and the counter person took extra special care and drew something on my coffee cup. So sweet and creative. This is my second time here and won't be my last.

Cute aesthetic cafe with lots of seating options inside and out. More for socializing than studying or wfh from what I saw. I got the earl grey latte which was pretty good, and my friend got the Nutella which was just alright and wasn't as high quality as a previous visit.

Very good cozy coffee shop. I like my tea really hot. They made sure it is really hot . My friend got vanilla late and he really enjoyed it and he says very delicious. They have outside and indoor sitting available

Located along a pretty busy street in Silverlake, this small coffee spot feels like a great place to either grab some coffee on the go or even hang out for a bit. It also feels like it's connected to the businesses around - almost like a mini mall type structure. I got the iced peanut butter latte. I thought it was very tasty and a great mid day treat when you need a bit of a pick-me-up. I love the taste of peanut butter and this was just the right amount of it (not overpowering). Because it is located on a busy street, parking can be a little tricky. I parked a few blocks away in the residential area. There are street meters, so you may get lucky. In an area where there are plenty of coffee spots, this is definitely another great one.

Came in for a morning drink and breakfast sandwich. I ordered the matcha latte with no sweetener- it has the earthy taste. I ordered the egg & cheese sandwich on an everything bagel- great breakfast sandwich to enjoy there or on the go. Service was quick from ordering at the counter to when it was ready. They have indoor and outdoor tables. Great place to study, meet up with friends or enjoy a coffee. They are dog friendly and keep a little jar of dog treats on the counter to give to your furry friend. Parking- street parking

Cute lil spot by in Silver lake. Street parking can be hard to find, but you could also park closer to the resivoir and walk down. The spot is really cute with vibey lighting, cute gifts, green plants, lots of seating and a stand up bar to wait at. Lots of people bring their dogs in, so be careful if the line is long or if you have a reactive dog. The baristas were very warm, friendly and upbeat which is nice to see. I ordered the pretzel, which I was so stoked about when I saw the menu! I love me a good Bavarian type pretzel sometimes. But it really wasn't the best I've had truthfully. I think there is a dip that was supposed to have been served with it as well, that I didn't receive. I also ordered the speed queen with egg and vegan schmear but they were out of the schmear. So they add a vegan butter instead. This sandwich has bbq pulled shrooms topped with house made pickled slaw on a fresh, lightly toasted kaiser roll, which had nice flavor and I truly enjoyed it. I also ordered a Nutella latte with almond milk which was good but still not a fave for me. Overall I liked this place, I just need to give it a few more try's and find the right coffee for me. Stop by, order a nice pastry or sandwich and enjoy your time there.

MAKISUPA (est 2024) is Silver Lake's brand new coffee bar located right across the street from Blair's restaurant and adjacent to Camelot School. Their indoor has an atrium-style seating area where staff serve coffee drinks. Its tranquil atmosphere definitely attenuates the stress in your work. It's my first time here and ordered a Cold Brew. It was perfectly made to my liking. Service was on point and staff was nice and competent. Prices were very competitive. They are open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., and weekends from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. There is a free parking behind the building and surrounding neighborhood. Overall, I had a good experience and I recommend this coffee bar. I'll definitely come back.

PREVIOUS REVIEW2 It's been a while since I've been here the previous time. In addition to being very nice last time (except for the logistics of ordering and the non-functioning power outlets), the please remains a peaceful oasis and the ordering process has improved since. Most importantly, the coffee remains delicious, and the tomato basil tart was a wonderful quick lunch followed by a multi berry muffin. PREVIOUS REVIEW1 Cute little place in Atwater Village!! So cute with peaceful, relaxing and quiet atmosphere (inside/outside) that I thought I could get some work done (free WiFi). The concept is a bit confusing: There are a bunch of "menu items" such as sandwiches and wraps etc, but while they are listed on a big board behind the counter, you have to actually grab them premade/prepacked from a fridge ... The Vegan Smokey BBQ Wrap was very good except for the short and transient moment when I opened the container, but after all it was actually fresh, juicy and had a great flavor mix. The Mex Mocha with Almond milk (alternatives are available) was delicious, and I paired it with a GF Orange Chia Bread Loaf. PS: I'm neither Vegan nor GF fanatic... What really defied the purpose of coming here was the non-working power outlets, and the manager not taking care of it. My laptop unfortunately does not have a TESLA battery and hence I did not last for 2 hours... PS: I neither have a TESLA nor a Prius either ... Tip: Parking on this side of the street can be tough, look on the other side ...

Cute decor and vibes inside. I wanted to try the pistachio bliss that everyone seemed to rave about but since their seasonal menu was out, I went for the toffee nut iced latte. So many people define themselves as experts. Sadly, many of those same people will walk in and say things like, "Gosh, I'm tired, could you make me a double espresso?", clearly assuming that stronger taste automatically means more caffeine. My wife and I simply like a good coffee in the morning. Which leads to the obvious question: what do we define as "good coffee"? For us, it helps us get into the day, tastes pleasant, and does not leave a bitter note. We are absolutely not coffee experts and can discuss coffee, at best, at what we Germans would call "Thekenniveau" -- bar-counter level. I do understand, however, that it may make a difference whether beans were roasted weeks or even months ago somewhere remote, then shipped and stored, or whether they were roasted locally and recently. So we asked ChatGPT, and one of the recommendations was REGENT Coffee in our neighborhood. We went. Our directive was very clear: we explained that we knew little to nothing about coffee, which was precisely why we had come in and were looking for advice. The lady helping us started with: "Well, it all comes down to the settings of your coffee machine when you pour your espresso." I responded that we are not really espresso drinkers -- we drink Americano. She gave us "the look" and explained that an Americano is espresso with more water. The information: fair enough. The way it was communicated: not ideal if your goal is to win me as a customer. From there, the conversation did not really lead anywhere. We were asked questions such as whether we preferred nutty or fruity coffee. That may be a perfectly reasonable question for someone who already knows what those terms mean in practical taste terms. But we had just told her that we did not. That was the entire reason we were there. We were not looking to prove our coffee knowledge. We were looking for someone who had the expertise to guide us. In the end, we bought an Americano. It was served so hot that my wife burned her mouth in the car, and it took almost the entire 45-minute drive to Santa Monica before it had reached what we considered a comfortable drinking temperature. It cost $5. And we did not even particularly like it. Would I go again? No. Would I recommend REGENT based on this experience? No. What makes this particularly disappointing is that this was a tremendous lost opportunity to turn us into long-term customers. We like expert advice. We drive to Farmers Markets to buy fresh produce knowing full well that we may pay 200% more for something that is perhaps only 15% better. But we can taste the difference, and that makes it worthwhile to us. Coffee could have been exactly the same. If I specialized in coffee, I would make it incredibly easy for people like us to enter that world. I would offer tastings. I would explain, in simple language, what "nutty", "fruity", "chocolatey", "bright", "smooth" or "low acidity" actually mean in the cup. I might offer a short class on how to set up a home coffee machine properly. Maybe even machine-specific sessions. Maybe in the shop. Maybe at the customer's home. Because there are customers walking through the door saying, quite literally: "We know very little. We want advice. We are willing to spend money." And even better from a business perspective: Not just money once. Continuous money. Imagine if the conversation had instead started with: "I totally understand where you are coming from. Coffee can become unnecessarily complicated very quickly. Since you mostly drink Americano and want something smooth rather than bitter, let me give you two small tastes so you can understand the difference. Then I'll recommend one bean to start with." We would almost certainly have bought a bag. Possibly two. And if we had liked them, we might have bought beans there for years. Instead, they sold us one tiny cup for $5 over the counter, while the payment screen suggested an 18-25% tip. And two potentially very loyal customers walked out frustrated. That, to me, is the real business lesson here. It is not about whether REGENT makes good or bad coffee. Taste is subjective. It is about recognizing the customer who is standing right in front of you. Especially when that customer is effectively saying: "Please teach me how to spend more money with you." And then making sure you do not send them home without doing exactly that. Small caffeine footnote: espresso is more concentrated in caffeine per ounce, but a normal serving of drip coffee usually contains more total caffeine than a single espresso because the serving is much larger. Stronger taste does not automatically mean more caffeine.
