I walked in hoping to get some work done but immediately realized they're not that type of cafe. They have no wifi and very expensive goods. Which i was okay with both because i have a hotspot and I understand they have prime location so their goods are going to be over priced. But the thing that really deterred me was the enforced time limit. This place has a 45 min time limit for people who only order small orders. 90 min time limit for normal restaurant orders. Also the only table that they were able to offer me was the small one next to the door so wasn't really able to really appreciate the rest of the "cafe" as seen in the photos. They told me that they are more of a restaurant than a cafe. So the name "Cafe and Lounge" was very deceiving to me, definitely not the typical type of cafe you would think of. Got the vibe that they definitely don't want solo parties here. DONT come here expecting to study or relax solo. It's more meant for big parties and groups looking to chat it up. read more

My Cafe & Lounge is a beautiful corner café located right in the heart of Glendale. The exterior is elegant, well-lit, and inviting, making a great first impression. One thing I appreciated immediately was the parking. There is plenty of street parking, a parking structure directly across the street, and additional parking nearby, so getting there was surprisingly easy. As soon as we walked in, the owner, who was sitting near the entrance, warmly welcomed us. We initially started walking toward the cozy booth section in the back, but were told that area is reserved for dinner service and wasn't open... We weren't the only ones confused, as another guest came in shortly after and tried to sit there as well. That left us deciding between a few café tables downstairs, outdoor seating, or the upstairs loft. We first tried upstairs, but there were only a couple of two-top tables available. One was occupied by guests working on laptops, and the seating felt a little close together. The remaining tables were reserved for larger parties, so we ended up heading back downstairs. One of the available booths faced the restroom, which isn't my favorite, but I simply sat on the opposite side and it worked out just fine. Once we got settled, everything improved. Our server was friendly, attentive, and happy to offer recommendations. I ordered the French baguette turkey sandwich, while we also tried the spicy chicken sandwich, which both the server and the owner highly recommended. The owner even mentioned it's what he personally eats almost every day, and I can see why, it was delicious. We also ordered fries to share along with two hot lattes: a chai tea latte and a mocha. Both coffee drinks were excellent and easily some of the highlights of our meal. The atmosphere is charming and cozy, making it a great place to relax, catch up with friends, or enjoy a coffee date. Before dessert, the owner recommended the mini pancakes and the waffles, with ice cream. They both looked great, but I've had similar desserts at several other cafés recently, so I wanted to try something different. I ordered the brownie with ice cream instead, and I'm so glad I did. It was rich, fresh, and absolutely delicious. One thing the owner emphasized was that they use fresh ingredients without preservatives and focus on quality. After our meal, I believe it. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and made with care. Our total for two people, including tip, came to about $120. It's a little on the pricier side for a café, but you're also paying for the ambiance, quality ingredients, attentive service, and the overall experience. Overall, we had a very enjoyable visit. My only suggestion would be to make the seating situation a little clearer for first-time guests, since several of us naturally gravitated toward the closed dining section. Love this place. I am leaving this review after several try. Store manager is very nice person and he is top of everything. On our first visit he noticed we were kinda lost on the menu and he just helped us with the best and delicious options from the special breakfasts and tea through the deserts which was delicious. He was very friendly and helpful. Staffs were taking care of everything. Beautiful romantic place for date nights and a live music band is playing on weekends which makes it more interesting. The Pistachio Toast was made with charcoal bread topped with a lightly sweetened pistachio spread and fresh strawberries & blueberries. It was tasty. The Honey Cake was like a crepe cake. It was good and not overly sweet. The Prosecco was crisp, light, & refreshing. Before we left, we had a nice chat with the owner, Tony. I'm extremely disappointed with my experience with this place. Before coming in, I called to ask whether there were outlets available because I wanted to catch up on some work while I ate. The person I spoke with was very insistent that I would not be welcome to have my computer open and told me, "This is a restaurant, not somewhere to do work." What makes that even more confusing is that this is advertised as a cafe and lounge, not simply a restaurant. I was also told that there is a strict 90-minute limit. They serve hookah as well, and I was told that if I wanted hookah, I would have to order it and have it at the same time as my meal, and then leave once the 90 minutes were up. I genuinely don't understand how you can put such a strict time limit on someone eating a full meal and smoking hookah at the same time. I called again to clarify because the entire situation was confusing, and the person I spoke with was extremely rude and dismissive. He repeatedly made it clear that someone wanting to sit with a laptop was not welcome there. I completely understand that businesses can have policies and time limits when they are busy, but there is a respectful and professional way to communicate that to customers. I didn't even get the opportunity to come in and experience the cafe because of how unwelcoming the interaction was before I even arrived. My friend and I stopped in for a simple coffee, she ordered an Armenian coffee and I asked for an espresso. The staff speaks Armenian to you regardless of your preference, which is fine, but just something to note. I grabbed a bottled water and asked for two glasses. Unfortunately, my espresso was extremely sour and clearly not made correctly, and both water glasses had a strong egg-like smell that made the water undrinkable. When it came time to pay, I noticed there was already a credit-card fee added, so I chose to leave a cash tip instead. I skipped the tip option on the machine because I had cash in my hand, but the gentleman ringing me up, who seemed to be the owner or manager, actually asked why I skipped the tip. I explained that I was tipping in cash and also shared what happened with the glasses. He insisted I was wrong and said it was impossible because they "use four types of chemicals" to wash them. I asked him to check the glasses still on our table; he said he would but then walked away and ignored it entirely. This is the second time I've experienced rude service and overpriced food here. When we got the pizza, we asked for ranch and chili flakes but never got. We asked two different servers but by the time they brought the chili flakes we had only one slice of pizza left. We didn't want the pizza to get cold. The only reason we got a ranch was because it came with the wings. The wings were small and slightly crispy. Definitely not fresh wings, they tasted like store bought frozen wings. We noticed other tables were complaining because they weren't getting service which says a lot about a place. After we paid the bill a very rude man came to our table and said that we are sitting there for 3 hours and we must leave as other people are waiting for a table to sit. Counter person says I can take a table - downstairs had a lot of sunlight, so I chose upstairs, she told me either table 21 or 22. But when I didn't see an outlet, I walked toward a larger table and was told again only 21 or 22. 22 is right in front of the bathroom but there is an outlet. She then told me that I could stay 45 minutes if I ordered dessert and coffee. 90 minutes if I ordered a meal. Then she went downstairs and turned on music. Loud. My cappuccino ($7) and bagel ($21) and I can't be leisurely. I request that the music be turned down upstairs, since it's only me in here. The waiter started to balk, then said ok. But if it was turned down, it was imperceptible. Shame. My cappuccino is excellent and the bagel really good, if a little chintzy with capers and salmon - but the quality of the fish is great. Service was quick and courteous. It's clean and comfortable. I could've hung out here and worked for a few hours, if they'd allowed it. And I do understand that a small family restaurant needs to turn tables, but when when I leave just under the time allowed, only four tables are taking downstairs. 3x that or more are open. Oh, well. Tony recommended the Alfredo truffle pasta with mushrooms and it was absolutely delicious rich flavorful and perfectly balanced. They have such a wide variety of specialty coffees and lattes. I had the Ferrero Rocher latte with oat milk which came in a beautiful glass with a shot of espresso and it was one of the best specialty lattes I've had. For dessert I had the mini pancakes with Nutella and condensed milk. It was sooooo delicious The menu has so much variety from pastas, pizzas and sandwiches, to breakfast items toasts and healthy options plus vegetarian and vegan choices. My friend loves their tiramisu latte which I hear is another favorite is next on and they also have cakes and desserts that look amazing. The café is clean stylish peaceful and inviting and somehow even though it's popular it never feels too crowded or hectic. They also have live music on Fridays Saturdays and Sundays which adds such a nice lounge atmosphere without being loud. The crepe I had wanted was $15 but I'm lactose intolerant so I couldn't eat the inside. The waitress suggested I take the filling out and get berries instead. From the way she suggested this, it sounded like a substitution. When I finally got my bill I was charged $18.72 for the crepe. I just think it's sad that they aren't very accommodating here. SIGHHHH. Just because you think you can, doesn't mean you should!! This restaurant is a prime example. Lavash flatbread had ZERO FLAVOR. how someone messes that up with sujux is beyond me. The bagel, lol missing a fresh element. Pickled onions had no spice. Just all bad. The chai latte???? ITS A REGULAR LATTE WITH CINNAMON IN IT!!! A must visit in the area for nice vibes. It's a nice cafe with a large variety of teas and desserts. I dropped by last night to give them a try. The service was great and everyone was very nice. Where do I even begin?! The only thing I regret is not discovering and checking out MyCafe sooner in life. MyCafe is my happy place. It's my comfort place. It hugs my soul. I've been there with the closest people to me that I love very much because I was so excited and enthusiastic about having them try very tasty food. These are the items on their menu that I have tried (take a screenshot of this list so little by little you can order these items and try them also) Borscht Soup, Mexican Soup Tony Style, Avocado Toast/with smoked salmon, Tuna Melt, Armenian Salad, Raf Coffee with condensed milk, passion fruit lemonade, hot moroccan teapot, chocolate raspberry cake, mikado cake, homemade sirniki, croissant with ham and cheese, salmon roll crepe, sesame seed bagel sandwich, and french fries. They are open until 2 AM. I can satisfy my late night cravings in a sophisticated café. It's the owners, Ani & Tony that make the place magical. They are always present and their hospitality is of another caliber. They always welcome you and chat with you with a big smile and warmth.
