The guest of Honor, Ronnald M from Orlando Fl, is as sweet as the house made desserts in the display case. My lovely gals, Te-See & Rosie, joined us too, which made the gathering more fun. The entranceway is stunning - marbled floors, a gold staircase, and a gorgeous cascading chandelier. There is a side room that is also lovely and a lounge area upstairs. Monica was our server and she was an absolute delight. (Jordan was also darling.) Our order consisted of Pistachio Toast, Croissant with butter & jam, Honey Cake, "Rafi" Coffee, Chai Latte, Iced Tea, and a glass of Prosecco. The Pistachio Toast was made with charcoal bread topped with a lightly sweetened pistachio spread and fresh strawberries & blueberries. It was tasty. The Honey Cake was like a crepe cake. It was good and not overly sweet. The Prosecco was crisp, light, & refreshing. Before we left, we had a nice chat with the owner, Tony. He was very friendly and told us they were working on opening a location in Florida. That made Ronnald happy. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with LIVE Entertainment on the weekends starting around 7:30pm. The baked goods including the cakes are all made by the staff off the premises. YUM! We came with my boyfriend and intended to try the place next door but we saw this place was busier so we decided to try it. We were greeted immediately and it appeared he was the manager (older gentleman with tattoos) and he even gave my dog a pup cup. Honestly, this is the only reason I gave it 3 stars. I appreciated the kindness from him. Service overall went downhill after this. We got the wings and a pizza. I got a tea to drink and my boyfriend got the chai latte. I got the hibiscus tea and it was really good - highly recommend. My boyfriend's chai latte on the other hand was straight milk with ice. Do not recommend. When we got the pizza, we asked for ranch and chili flakes but never got. We asked two different servers but by the time they brought the chili flakes we had only one slice of pizza left. We didn't want the pizza to get cold. The only reason we got a ranch was because it came with the wings. The wings were small and slightly crispy. Definitely not fresh wings, they tasted like store bought frozen wings. We noticed other tables were complaining because they weren't getting service which says a lot about a place. Some even got up and left. It seems like a lot of people went for dessert/pastries so we missed the memo on that. I unfortunately wouldn't come here again. My friend and I stopped in for a simple coffee, she ordered an Armenian coffee and I asked for an espresso. The staff speaks Armenian to you regardless of your preference, which is fine, but just something to note. I grabbed a bottled water and asked for two glasses. Unfortunately, my espresso was extremely sour and clearly not made correctly, and both water glasses had a strong egg-like smell that made the water undrinkable. When it came time to pay, I noticed there was already a credit-card fee added, so I chose to leave a cash tip instead. I skipped the tip option on the machine because I had cash in my hand, but the gentleman ringing me up, who seemed to be the owner or manager, actually asked why I skipped the tip. I explained that I was tipping in cash and also shared what happened with the glasses. He insisted I was wrong and said it was impossible because they "use four types of chemicals" to wash them. I asked him to check the glasses still on our table; he said he would but then walked away and ignored it entirely. This is the second time I've experienced rude service and overpriced food here. I've been there with the closest people to me that I love very much because I was so excited and enthusiastic about having them try very tasty food. These are the items on their menu that I have tried (take a screenshot of this list so little by little you can order these items and try them also) Borscht Soup, Mexican Soup Tony Style, Avocado Toast/with smoked salmon, Tuna Melt, Armenian Salad, Raf Coffee with condensed milk, passion fruit lemonade, hot moroccan teapot, chocolate raspberry cake, mikado cake, homemade sirniki, croissant with ham and cheese, salmon roll crepe, sesame seed bagel sandwich, and french fries. They are open until 2 AM. I can satisfy my late night cravings in a sophisticated café. It's the owners, Ani & Tony that make the place magical. Walked in at 9:15 on Friday. Cute spot, nice and quiet. Perfect to get a little work done. I am the only customer in the place. Counter person says I can take a table - downstairs had a lot of sunlight, so I chose upstairs, she told me either table 21 or 22. But when I didn't see an outlet, I walked toward a larger table and was told again only 21 or 22. 22 is right in front of the bathroom but there is an outlet. She then told me that I could stay 45 minutes if I ordered dessert and coffee. 90 minutes if I ordered a meal. Then she went downstairs and turned on music. Loud. My cappuccino ($7) and bagel ($21) and I can't be leisurely. I request that the music be turned down upstairs, since it's only me in here. The waiter started to balk, then said ok. But if it was turned down, it was imperceptible. Shame. My cappuccino is excellent and the bagel really good, if a little chintzy with capers and salmon - but the quality of the fish is great. Service was quick and courteous. It's clean and comfortable. I could've hung out here and worked for a few hours, if they'd allowed it. And I do understand that a small family restaurant needs to turn tables, but when when I leave just under the time allowed, only four tables are taking downstairs. 3x that or more are open. Oh, well. I was already in Glendale I decided to stop by around 6:30 pm. The area is beautiful and the café itself has such a calm warm upscale vibe without feeling overwhelming. I was greeted by the owner Tony who was incredibly welcoming and my server David was attentive friendly and made the whole experience feel easy and unrushed. Every staff member is soo sweet, caring, kind and the customer service is amazing! Tony recommended the Alfredo truffle pasta with mushrooms and it was absolutely delicious rich flavorful and perfectly balanced. They have such a wide variety of specialty coffees and lattes. I had the Ferrero Rocher latte with oat milk which came in a beautiful glass with a shot of espresso and it was one of the best specialty lattes I've had. For dessert I had the mini pancakes with Nutella and condensed milk. It was sooooo delicious The menu has so much variety from pastas, pizzas and sandwiches, to breakfast items toasts and healthy options plus vegetarian and vegan choices. My friend loves their tiramisu latte which I hear is another favorite is next on and they also have cakes and desserts that look amazing. The café is clean stylish peaceful and inviting and somehow even though it's popular it never feels too crowded or hectic. They also have live music on Fridays Saturdays and Sundays which adds such a nice lounge atmosphere without being loud. My main concern is their service is not professional, service is quite slow, and their prices are very high, the food is very basic, with few ingredients in the salads or the sandwiches. If you're going to charge high end restaurant prices, please act like a high end restaurant and offer better food. Not to mention, the tea. My goodness, in some cases $13 for a cup of tea or $22 for a pot. I have not been to a single cafe that charges $13 for a cup of tea, not even in Beverly Hills! FINALLY tried! It's so hard to find a place to get coffee after a certain time in the area, so it was nice to come here. It may have been close to midnight when I came in. It always pops up on my Yelp, but I'm usually too far (I live in Granada Hills). The location is great, clean, and nicely decorated. Everyone was welcoming and nice upon our arrival. They mentioned they have different time limits on seating if you're grabbing coffee vs food, which was fine. Nobody really gave us a hard time given it was late and not too crowded. Both lattes tasted watered down and flavorless, and the almond croissant was nothing special. Paying nearly $40 for two weak lattes and a croissant honestly felt ridiculous. What really made the experience worse was the seating policy. After we sat down to study (the whole reason we came), a staff member told us we were only allowed to stay for 45 minutes unless we bought more items. That's not how cafés work. If you're going to enforce restaurant-style turnover rules, don't market yourself as a study-friendly café. Even more frustrating: the place was basically empty at 11 a.m., yet about 90% of the seating area was blocked off for "reservations." It felt less like a café and more like they just didn't want people there unless they kept spending money every half hour. Unfortunately, this was the only option close to me that has some coffee and food at about 10pm without getting into a full restaurant. There were about 3 small tables outside that were full with plates from previous customers and I asked to have a seat outside. FIRST thing that I was told is "coffee orders have 45 min and food orders 60min".... I almost laughed at that this is a first time I hear a time limit...if someone is at the table for too long, there are polite ways to let them know that the restaurant is busy and you cant just seat there with no orders. What type of cheap service is that. But ok... whatever. I was really hungry. I said "ok, I'll just get that small table outside". SECOND thing I hear is "are you alone?". Meaning if its just me I might not spend enough or what? What kind of question is that? And FINALLY they offer me a bigger table but right next to the restroom door when I asked to get that small table outside and that I dont mind wait till it will be cleaned , I was told "it would take 15min to clean it" 15min? come on. If you're thinking of studying at My Cafe and Lounge... don't bother. They'll eventually kick you out. I came in around 6 PM after the library closed. I had been meaning to try this place out because they're open until 2 AM--perfect for students who need a cozy space to study late into the night. At first, it seemed like a great pick. The atmosphere was relaxed, it's conveniently located right across from the library, and the name "My Cafe and Lounge" made it sound like the kind of place that welcomes people who want to take their time, unwind, or get some work done. I ordered food, got a drink, and settled in to study. From 6 to 9 PM, I kept to myself, was quiet and respectful--nothing out of the ordinary. Then, I was asked to leave. Why? "It's too busy." Apparently, Friday night isn't a time for studying at their café. That was beyond frustrating. I wasn't freeloading--I paid for a meal and the Ferrero Rocher Latte (which honestly didn't live up to the price). I kept to myself, or acting out of line. I was doing exactly what cafés are meant for: sipping a drink, reading, getting some work done in a cozy atmosphere. Isn't that what cafés are for? If your business markets itself as a late-night café--especially near a library--don't be surprised when students actually show up to... study. And if your first instinct is to kick them out just because more people walk in, that says a lot about what kind of customer experience you actually value. If you're going to call yourself a café and lounge, you might want to actually be that. Don't promote late hours and a chill vibe, only to push out paying customers because it suddenly gets busy and you'd rather fill seats with bigger spenders. That's not community.
