My Cafe & Lounge is a beautiful corner café located right in the heart of Glendale. The exterior is elegant, well-lit, and inviting, making a great first impression. One thing I appreciated immediately was the parking. There is plenty of street parking, a parking structure directly across the street, and additional parking nearby, so getting there was surprisingly easy. As soon as we walked in, the owner, who was sitting near the entrance, warmly welcomed us. We initially started walking toward the cozy booth section in the back, but were told that area is reserved for dinner service and wasn't open... We weren't the only ones confused, as another guest came in shortly after and tried to sit there as well. That left us deciding between a few café tables downstairs, outdoor seating, or the upstairs loft. We first tried upstairs, but there were only a couple of two-top tables available. One was occupied by guests working on laptops, and the seating felt a little close together. The remaining tables were reserved for larger parties, so we ended up heading back downstairs. One of the available booths faced the restroom, which isn't my favorite, but I simply sat on the opposite side and it worked out just fine. Once we got settled, everything improved. Our server was friendly, attentive, and happy to offer recommendations. I ordered the French baguette turkey sandwich, while we also tried the spicy chicken sandwich, which both the server and the owner highly recommended. The owner even mentioned it's what he personally eats almost every day, and I can see why, it was delicious. We also ordered fries to share along with two hot lattes: a chai tea latte and a mocha. Both coffee drinks were excellent and easily some of the highlights of our meal. It was rich, fresh, and absolutely delicious. One thing the owner emphasized was that they use fresh ingredients without preservatives and focus on quality. After our meal, I believe it. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and made with care. Our total for two people, including tip, came to about $120. It's a little on the pricier side for a café, but you're also paying for the ambiance, quality ingredients, attentive service, and the overall experience. Overall, we had a very enjoyable visit. My only suggestion would be to make the seating situation a little clearer for first-time guests, since several of us naturally gravitated toward the closed dining section. We started with the French fries and the portion was good. They were golden, crispy, fresh, and paired well with their really good ketchup. My wife ordered the tiramisu latte and said it was delicious. We also tried the Italian pizza topped with arugula, burrata, and prosciutto. The ingredients tasted fresh and high quality. Personally, there was a little too much arugula for my taste, but it was still really good overall. The absolute star of the meal was the spicy chicken sandwich. One of the owners even came up and told us he eats it every day, and after trying it, I completely understand why. The bread was toasted perfectly, the chicken was tender, juicy, and flavorful, and the melted cheese brought everything together. It reminded me of an amazing buffalo chicken sandwich. When we got the pizza, we asked for ranch and chili flakes but never got. We asked two different servers but by the time they brought the chili flakes we had only one slice of pizza left. We didn't want the pizza to get cold. The only reason we got a ranch was because it came with the wings. The wings were small and slightly crispy. Definitely not fresh wings, they tasted like store bought frozen wings. We noticed other tables were complaining because they weren't getting service which says a lot about a place. My friend and I stopped in for a simple coffee, she ordered an Armenian coffee and I asked for an espresso. Unfortunately, my espresso was extremely sour and clearly not made correctly, and both water glasses had a strong egg-like smell that made the water undrinkable. When it came time to pay, I noticed there was already a credit-card fee added, so I chose to leave a cash tip instead. I skipped the tip option on the machine because I had cash in my hand, but the gentleman ringing me up, who seemed to be the owner or manager, actually asked why I skipped the tip. I explained that I was tipping in cash and also shared what happened with the glasses. He insisted I was wrong and said it was impossible because they "use four types of chemicals" to wash them. I asked him to check the glasses still on our table; he said he would but then walked away and ignored it entirely. This is the second time I've experienced rude service and overpriced food here. The crepe I had wanted was $15 but I'm lactose intolerant so I couldn't eat the inside. The waitress suggested I take the filling out and get berries instead. From the way she suggested this, it sounded like a substitution. When I finally got my bill I was charged $18.72 for the crepe. I just think it's sad that they aren't very accommodating here. Walked in at 9:15 on Friday. Cute spot, nice and quiet. Perfect to get a little work done. I am the only customer in the place. Counter person says I can take a table - downstairs had a lot of sunlight, so I chose upstairs, she told me either table 21 or 22. But when I didn't see an outlet, I walked toward a larger table and was told again only 21 or 22. 22 is right in front of the bathroom but there is an outlet. She then told me that I could stay 45 minutes if I ordered dessert and coffee. 90 minutes if I ordered a meal. Then she went downstairs and turned on music. Loud. My cappuccino ($7) and bagel ($21) and I can't be leisurely. I request that the music be turned down upstairs, since it's only me in here. The waiter started to balk, then said ok. But if it was turned down, it was imperceptible. Shame. My cappuccino is excellent and the bagel really good, if a little chintzy with capers and salmon - but the quality of the fish is great. Service was quick and courteous. It's clean and comfortable. I could've hung out here and worked for a few hours, if they'd allowed it. And I do understand that a small family restaurant needs to turn tables, but when when I leave just under the time allowed, only four tables are taking downstairs. 3x that or more are open. Oh, well. I was already in Glendale I decided to stop by around 6:30 pm. The area is beautiful and the café itself has such a calm warm upscale vibe without feeling overwhelming. I was greeted by the owner Tony who was incredibly welcoming and my server David was attentive friendly and made the whole experience feel easy and unrushed. Every staff member is soo sweet, caring, kind and the customer service is amazing! Tony recommended the Alfredo truffle pasta with mushrooms and it was absolutely delicious rich flavorful and perfectly balanced. They have such a wide variety of specialty coffees and lattes. I had the Ferrero Rocher latte with oat milk which came in a beautiful glass with a shot of espresso and it was one of the best specialty lattes I've had. For dessert I had the mini pancakes with Nutella and condensed milk. It was sooooo delicious The menu has so much variety from pastas, pizzas and sandwiches, to breakfast items toasts and healthy options plus vegetarian and vegan choices. My friend loves their tiramisu latte which I hear is another favorite is next on and they also have cakes and desserts that look amazing. The café is clean stylish peaceful and inviting and somehow even though it's popular it never feels too crowded or hectic. They also have live music on Fridays Saturdays and Sundays which adds such a nice lounge atmosphere without being loud. Perfect for brunch with friends breakfast lunch dinner or even a relaxed solo visit. This has officially become one of my new favorite cafés and I'll definitely be back. My friends and I (5 people total) stopped by for coffee to go. After we placed and paid for our order, the server informed us that there were several orders ahead of us, so there would be a wait. We understood and decided to stay. Unfortunately, what should have been a short wait turned into 45 minutes for five coffees to go. Waiting 45 minutes for coffee is unreasonable and something I have never experienced before. I completely understand that businesses get busy and delays can happen. However, customers should be told about a significant wait time before they place and pay for their order. The bagel, lol missing a fresh element. Pickled onions had no spice. Just all bad. The chai latte???? ITS A REGULAR LATTE WITH CINNAMON IN IT!!! A must visit in the area for nice vibes. It's a nice cafe with a large variety of teas and desserts. I dropped by last night to give them a try. The service was great and everyone was very nice. Just please read the reviews. They are rude to reviewers who haven't left a good review. This is very unprofessional! My main concern is their service is not professional, service is quite slow, and their prices are very high, the food is very basic, with few ingredients in the salads or the sandwiches. If you're going to charge high end restaurant prices, please act like a high end restaurant and offer better food. Not to mention, the tea. My goodness, in some cases $13 for a cup of tea or $22 for a pot. I have not been to a single cafe that charges $13 for a cup of tea, not even in Beverly Hills! The rent in Glendale is nowhere near BH by the way. But I can handle high prices so long as you're nice to your customers, which they aren't. Be nicer to your customers and reviewers. FINALLY tried! It's so hard to find a place to get coffee after a certain time in the area, so it was nice to come here. It may have been close to midnight when I came in. It always pops up on my Yelp, but I'm usually too far (I live in Granada Hills). The location is great, clean, and nicely decorated. Everyone was welcoming and nice upon our arrival. They mentioned they have different time limits on seating if you're grabbing coffee vs food, which was fine. Nobody really gave us a hard time given it was late and not too crowded. The prices are a little high ( $11 for a small glass of in-house brewed tea) but definitely recommend trying. read more
