Latte w/ Maple Cream Cold Foam , Chocolate Croissant
    Kevin R.

A friend of mine showed me this spot and I was pleasantly surprised! I got a latte with their maple cream cold foam , a chocolate croissant , and their buddha bowl. The latte was great , everything a latte should be; the maple cold foam took it over the top for me and tasted exactly like maple. The chocolate croissant was good , slightly crunchy exterior while the inside was still soft. I also loved the chocolate they put in there , they were pretty thick pieces. Now the buddha bowl: amazing. I didn't know what to expect from it but the flavors and ingredients were so fresh and complement each other nicely. I love how they added a whole half avocado! Service was okay! I only say this because orders were taken fast , drinks came out fast , but our food did take a little longer than expected. I assume because the food is made fresh which I can't complain about because it did taste amazing. The only reason I had gotten a croissant is because the food was taking a while and I was hungry lol. But other than that everyone is friendly and welcoming! Ambiance had me by surprise. It looks like a small coffee shop from the outside but there's plenty of seating in the back with outdoor/indoor seating. It's a cozy coffee shop that's inviting. Overall , would come back again and try more of their items!

I was in town visiting my family and friends, and pleased to see this addition to the neighborhood. I think Canada was genuinely missing a spot where locals can come in and enjoy the beautiful city. I visited three times in two days because I was so excited to try different things. The Monte Blanc drink stole my heart. Their breakfast sandwich had the most perfect scrambled egg, and for our road trip, we picked up a few of their baguette sandwiches. Everything was fresh, artisan, and seemed local. Loved it!

Loose Cannon is a jam. Old school tunes and a great coffee menu featuring their signature Marlowe - an iced cottage with a maple cold foam. I paired it with a yogurt bowl that I found oddly runny and sour, but the toppings are super fresh and full of flavor (the kumquat marmalade is a bit hit). They both both indoor and outdoor seating. Great addition to North Glendale off Verdugo.

The most exciting new thing for local Glendale - La Crescenta folk or people like me who make the commute between the two. Loose canon is for sure that! Beautiful colors, interiors, food options, ample amount of seating an of course, good coffee & friendly service! Excited to come back!

Cute cafe! Was pretty busy in a Sunday morning, lots of young families with their children and dogs! Looks tiny at first but there is a lot of seating in the back area. Staff was friendly. My food came out about 5 mins before My coffee. I ordered the iced latte with maple cold foam + eggs and avocado with comes with cottage cheese. The food was very fresh and the way they cooked the eggs were perfection. Coffee was good but not anything out of this world. Maple cold foam did add a nice touch or the latte would be pretty bland. Not enough ice, it melted pretty quick. Overall a good experience and would return.

This has become my everyday coffee spot to get some work done with my dog. Coffee is good, the Marlowe is the marquee coffee of the establishment and for good reasons. Just be aware it's a cortado, not much liquid in there but great flavors. I also had their Tuna Melt and their baguette Soppresseta sandwich. Both very tasty. Only downside of the place which would get them 5 stars is the outdoor patio cleanliness. The bins are by the seats which attracts a lot of flies, especially when hot. The floor is also kind of dirty with a lot of pastries crumbs. Staff very nice and clearly with a good recipe for success.

Decided to stop by on a Saturday morning to check out this relatively new coffee shop in our neighborhood. It was incredibly busy, with barely any spots to sit on the indoor barstools, outdoor patio, or covered side room. They offered a variety of coffee and tea drinks, and even sold wine by the bottle. They also had lots of food options as well. The prices were a bit steep. The service was incredibly slow - they only had one espresso machine, causing the orders to back up quite a bit. Additionally, the system for calling beverages out didn't seem to work, as people would be taking beverages that didn't belong to them and they kept having to remake drinks for a number of customers, including myself. For what my opinion is worth, they should keep the receipts under each respective beverage, rather than immediately sticking them on the "completed" spike when finished making them. We ordered an avocado toast with the side of egg, and a breakfast sandwich. Also ordered a vanilla latte and the Marlow beverage. I didn't manage to get any photos of those, as it took quite some time to come out and we were we too hungry to wait for photos. Although it's conveniently located in the neighborhood, probably won't come back unless I've got a large large chunk of time to spare.

There was a long line when we went at around 10 AM. The store is cute and has a nice vibe, but it was super crowded so we couldn't really find seats. They have an area outside and an area inside to sit, but everything was filled - the hype was real! We parked on a street and walked over, parking was relatively easy. We ordered the matcha latte and a Marlowe for our drinks. We also got an apple danish, pistachio croissant and a chocolate croissant for pastries. The matcha latte was not great, a bit grainy and with nothing special. It tasted very watered down, and not much sweetness - slightly bitter. Definitely not worth the price tag. The marlowe is a small concentrated shot (?) of coffee with maple cream on top. More of an acquired taste in my opinion, as you have to bear the bitterness of the coffee underneath with the sweetness of the cream. The cream is pretty tasty, but definitely for more mature coffee enjoyers. The pastries were all relatively good - the pistachio one was my favorite. When we got there at 10 AM, they were almost sold out of all pastries though so just keep that in mind! Overall, an okay experience. The vibes and hype is definitely present but the drinks are not my favorite and the pastries were average as well.

I have a feeling this coffee shop will be here forever. It is exactly what this area was missing and exactly what was needed. Food and drinks: This place made me fall in love with Cortado's. Make sure to get there, Marlowe. Their food was also delicious, from the tuna melt to the BLT (although on the much heavier side). Tips and tricks: Ample seating, and although the parking lot is small, you can easily find parking in the surrounding area. Last but not least, they have a liquor license, which is awesome cause you could come here for really anything at that point!

Loved my first visit! Delicious coffee & pastries. Ample indoor-outdoor seating, parking (!), friendly service, a nice bathroom (!), & even a board book table for the little ones. Brooklyn-meets-Silverlake vibe - I appreciate a space that has a unique & thoughtful point of view on the experience they're trying to create.

Quite a stranger to the area so a chance to be around was to be well-utilized. This cute cafe on the corner was brand new yet successfully hosted the crowd for the weekend. Plus point for having sizable outdoor patio and dedicated parking space. Long line reaching the entrance on Saturday afternoon with almost full house but the turnaround was pretty speedy so it wasn't hard to get seats. They did serve some sandwiches for nibbles and I saw they used Jyan Isaac bread! I only went for their drinks and despite knowing their house signature was the Marlowe, I was trying to be more adventurous going for the cold brew with the iconic maple cream top. The coffee nailed the expectation with bold flavor and smooth after taste. They seemed to use Stumptown beans if I got it correctly. The cream top was nicely not overly heavy despite I wished bit stronger maple flavor.

Loose Cannon is just the coffee shop this neighborhood needed! The vibes here are beautiful, I love the nostalgic feel of the wood and tiles. They have lots of different places to sit like the bar that looks out to the street, a large, peaceful patio outside, and a back area that'll be open to the public soon! (A little birdie told me they'll open the place up for a nice dinner vibe, wine tasting, and event rentals soon too) They offer delicious coffee, pastries, and breakfast/lunch options! We got an iced brown sugar latte, the marlowe (an iced cortado with maple cream), and a hot mocha. They were all delicious and not too sweet which I appreciated so much. The maple cream was soooo good, it had a hint of salt too which I loved. They were still working on formulating a mocha recipe, and we really liked the one they made! Free parking in the small lot out front and lots of street parking around. All the workers here were so nice and excited to meet all the new customers. Tell them your preferences and they're ready to customize for you!

This place has been on my list to try since they opened a few months ago. Finally I got a chance to stop by with my son Friday morning around 10:30. It was busy !!!! Probably 8 people in line to order, the outdoor patio was full of people enjoying their food and drinks. Most of their bars good such as croissants and cookies were sold out but we got to try a turkey cheese croissant and a cinnamon roll. Both so fresh and delicious. My son and I ordered the cold brew with the maple cold foam. Delicious!!!! We enjoyed every sip. But the time our drinks were ready we found a table outside so that worked out perfectly. Customer service was friendly and helpful. We had a great experience here. Next time I'll try their food items and other drinks they offer. By the way they serve wine as well. Overall a very cozy but also lively ambiance.

Lovely, old fashioned diner with exposed brick walls, distressed furniture and a mix of old and new American decor. Very comfortable and homey. The best part was the food though. The chef doesn't know it's a diner apparently. I had a lovely chicken piccata that was superb! The only thing I didn't do was lick the plate clean, it was so good. Fare you'd expect from a nice Italian bistro. They have a devil's den full of desserts they make, too. I had a banana cream pie that was ridiculously good, along with an excellent coffee. They have a full coffee bar as well as the dessert bar. Service was terrific and the pricing was moderate for the quality. Breakfast, lunch and dinner with a large menu filled with American comfort food favorites. We have a ballgame to go to mid August. We are going to eat early dinner here before the game. Cannot wait to try their chicken pot pie!

If you go during the breakfast/brunch rush on the weekends, def take a few deep breaths as there can be a wait. Often, the patio fills up quite quickly. But sometimes it's just the luck of arriving at the perfect moment. As far as the entrees are concerned, I particularly like the Chile Stuffed Skillet when I'm craving a savory breakfast meal. It's made with a pasilla pepper stuffed with bacon, cheddar, and a poached egg. It's baked it in an iron skillet on top of potatoes, and it's topped off with ranchera sauce and sour cream. And let me tell ya, those house-made biscuits are amazing. Warm, crumbly, and melt in your mouth like a good biscuit should. The house-made jams are also a nice treat and feel like having a sample of grandma's (or mom's) kitchen. On of my visits, a friend ordered the Banana Bread French Toast, and it made me wish I had two stomachs so that I could eat that as well. But like a good friend, she noticed that I was eyeing her breakfast like a puppy dog begging from scraps. So she was gracious enough to split some and do a trade with one of my biscuits. I think the trade was quite fair. Next time, we agreed to go halfsies on the Corn Flake Crusted French Toast because they're really exceptional, and the Morning Quiche (which is only served on the weekends).

Sweet Demi Lune Bakery & Café…read more Sweet Demi Lune Bakery & Café reminded me that we live for the wonderful experiences that remain to be discovered. After a wonderful lunch date with my wife at Raffi's Place (please read my review and thank me later) in Glendale, I decided to look for the perfect dessert. After scouting several nearby locations, I decided I was in the mood for a great cinnamon roll. Sweet Demi Lune Bakery & Café looked like the place that would deliver the experience I was seeking. SDLBC is listed as being in Glendale, but it's located in the historic Old Town of Montrose. That's beside the point; I only mention it because there are additional places to explore just up the street. We arrived around 3:00 p.m. on a Saturday, and there wasn't much of a selection left, including the highly sought-after cinnamon roll. The gentleman behind the counter greeted us warmly, and I immediately asked if that was all the pastries they had. He said yes. I contemplated leaving because of the nonexistent cinnamon roll, but I didn't want to be rude, so I decided to give the bakery a try since we were already there. So, we basically took half of what remained behind the glass display case: a Peach Almond Croissant, a Raspberry Pistachio Croissant, an Almond Croissant, and then my curiosity focused on a few lonely-looking pastries that were unfamiliar to my discerning eyes. I asked the gentleman what they were, and he replied with something that sounded completely foreign to me: Kouign-Amann. Kouign-Amann (pronounced queen ah-MAHN) is a traditional pastry from the region of Brittany, France. It is often considered one of the richest pastries in the world because it is made with just a few simple ingredients in generous proportions: bread dough, butter, and sugar. Figuring we needed a few more sweets for the road, we took all the remaining Kouign-Amanns. Two were the traditional version, and the other two were filled with crème and blueberry jam. We also ordered a Café Americano and a Café Mocha. While we waited for our drinks, I simply couldn't wait any longer. Like a kid on Christmas morning, I eagerly opened my gift and dug right into the Kouign-Amann. Hesitantly, I tore off a tiny piece with my fingers, expecting nothing extraordinary, and instantly gave birth to a brand-new experience that exploded in my mouth. The crisp exterior gave way to the soft, flaky center, followed by waves of what tasted like delicate honey. I tore off another piece and shared it with my wife. One look at her eyes told me she wanted more. By the time our drinks were ready, we had devoured one of the Kouign-Amanns and confessed to the gentleman behind the counter that we had just experienced pure ecstasy in the form of a pastry. Kouign-Amann is, in fact, one of the richest pastries in the world, so don't let the unfamiliar name keep you from trying one. The Café Americano and the Café Mocha were also exceptionally well prepared. With everything that's happening in the world these days, a simple yet profound experience like this reminded me how wonderful life can still be. Like Arnold said... "I'll be back." Enjoy!

Walking inside, the restaurant had a beautiful hacienda-style atmosphere with comfortable seating. We arrived right when they opened, so it wasn't busy. The dining room was very clean, and the restrooms were spotless as well. I loved that it was fluffy, not greasy, and incredibly flavorful. As for the enchilada, I really enjoyed the shredded beef. The red sauce wasn't very spicy, which I prefer. I love a flavorful enchilada sauce without too much heat. Some restaurants make their sauce overly spicy, but this one was just perfect. The rice and beans were also excellent. The rice was soft and fluffy, not dry or hard, and the beans were well-seasoned without being overly salty like they are at many other restaurants. I truly enjoyed every bite of my meal.
