I have mixed feelings about this Le Pain location. I have been to other locations and had a very pleasant experience. This time was not a great one. Older lady I guess is the manager was not friendly at all. She didn't even greet us, she just pointed out to a table and left the menus on the table. We had to wait at least 10 to 15 minutes for somebody to take our order. Finally, somebody came over and took our order. It took a while to get our order that's another story. Maybe they were understaffed that day that's why there were hiccups in the customer service. Also, it took forever to get our bill too. I had to call someone to ask for our bill. For food, I can say all the pastries we ordered tasted good. Also, my latte was really good. No complaints about the food. For ambiance, this location has both indoor and outdoor dining area. Not sure, if the outdoor area is shared or not. This location also offers pick up orders. I noticed a lot of people just were picking up their food. I might do the same thing next time. read more

If you are reading the reviews and deciding whether or not to still go to this LPQ then let this be your sign to NOT GO. I read the reviews prior to coming with my family but I'm like "I'm a server, I know what to expect. I don't think it can be THAT bad." No it truly can be. First occasion, the waitress was so rude. Forgot to mention they were out of certain ingredients that go in my salad, all of our food was made very far apart from each other so some of us got to watch the other eat while others finished their food once my food arrived, A MESS. Anyways to add more insult to injury on this first occasion, I asked for the bill and was shoved a card reading device in my face. Once I stated I was going to pay cash, a bill was not brought it was shouted at at me. I gave her the cash and kindly asked for my change and the receipt. She came back and tossed the receipt and kept my change (-: love that. I still tipped an additional $6 but later realized I shouldn't have. I later got in touch with the DM and she took the proper measure to resolve the issues or so I thought. I order again but this time for delivery. Everything was fine until I realize that my pastry is missing. I called and let them know and funny enough, the DM answered the phone and assured me that she will reimburse me the difference for the missing pastry. Which she never did til the third event took place. I go to pick up a phone order I had placed. Ordered just for my husband and I. Again, I want to try the pastry that I never got so I had ordered it. I check my bag while still in store because after these last two incidents I have borderline PTSD with this place. I realize once again the pastry THAT I PAID FOR was not there. I let the cashier who helped me know. She says "No you didn't even pay for it" I kindly show her my receipt that clearly states that within the $88.46 I was charged for the Passionfruit tart that is missing. She says "I didn't even put that on there but if you want something for free just take it" Excuse you girly but I paid it for it, I don't want anything for free nor do I expect that but admit you were wrong and say you're sorry!?! I don't know how they're trained to act and service people but this is no way how. It is insaneeee to me that management does not mind this behavior. I will stick to the LPQ in Larchmont. The table service was terrible. We waited more than 20 minutes just to be attended to. Nobody ever came. One waiter said someone would come shortly, but nobody did. I went there with my parents, who are seniors and over 70 years old, just to have some coffee. The place was not busy at all -- only about one third of the tables were occupied. After waiting more than 20 minutes, I finally went to the register to try to order directly myself. We only wanted a few coffees, and they told me orders had to be taken at the table. Nobody had even brought us a menu or acknowledged us. I politely asked if they could please take the order since we had already been waiting over 20 minutes and were sitting outside. They told me they could only do it in plastic cups if they took the order there. After more than 30 minutes, a waitress finally showed up. I explained that we had already been waiting over 20 minutes when I decided to go order the coffees myself. She completely brushed it off. Nobody cared about the service or the customer. This was by far the worst service I have ever experienced at a Le Pain Quotidien. If you want to grab a coffee, do yourself a favor and go to La La Land Café, De Lucas, or Nordstrom instead, and avoid the headache of this place. What makes it worse is that this is an international franchise, yet this location has unbelievably poor service. I previously worked as both a manager and server in cafés and restaurants that were much busier than this place, and with fewer staff members. The reality is that they simply do not care about the customer. That attitude starts with management. I normally do not leave reviews, but in this case I felt obligated to do so in order to prevent other people from having the same frustrating experience. read more

I walk in and get no greeting. Confused on if it's seat yourself or wait to be seated. Ordered a sandwich to go asked how long it would take prior to ordering and guy at the front said less than 15 minutes. This was a cute find during the early mornings with the baby out and about. We sat outdoors and everyone was attentive and friendly. The matcha pistachio iced latte was so good. I was at your restaurant on May 12th with a friend for breakfast. We expected good service, but the blonde server rolled her eyes, explained nothing from the menu, and didn't clarify coffee sizes. After taking our order, we called her back to ask about sizes, but she walked away and sent another person who had no idea what we needed. It felt like she hated dealing with people. Later that day, I had dinner at the same place. They charged me for the wrong order. I already left when I caught it, had to return to fix it. They looked at me like it was my fault. I was very surprised. I expected amazing flavor and service because of the options and the decor. The decor is so cute and the place is in a great location so i had to try it. We waited in line and i decided while i was in line what i wanted. When we were next, the lady taking our order wasn't great. She was nice to me but gave my friend a little bit of attitude for asking a question about bread, even though it was going to be the same order. I had to repeat my order a few times because she didn't know what i was talking about and wasn't sure if they had it. Ultimately, i had to direct her towards it and point at it. I got the mini carrot cake, the cannelle and the mini apricot pie to go. They were terrible. The mini apricot pie was the only one i was actually able to eat (although it wasn't great) and the others, i had one bite and threw them away. They were very bad. I ordered the side fruit bowl and the Belgian liege waffle. Unfortunately they were out of matcha that day. The fruit salad was larger than I expected with a good amount of berries and good quality fruit. I was shocked how much I got for the price point. The waffle was smaller than expected. The cream on it is heavier and creamier than typical whipped cream. Very tasty. No syrup was needed, but I did enjoy the table jams and hazelnut spread on it. read more

Man, I really wanted to like this place. This is the first Le Pain Quotidien I've been to. But sadly, I probably will never return. I came to the location at the Americana for breakfast on my day off. I was sat by an older woman in the very back, and a male waiter served me. He never told me his name and was not friendly at all. In fact, he never smiled. I ordered the Sunny Side Breakfast Bowl and then he just stared at me expectantly before asking if I wanted a drink. So I ordered a Chai Latte with almond milk, but he never asked me what size (he brought me a large) and never mentioned it was a $1(!) upcharge for non-dairy milk. Like come on dude. Luckily the drink was pretty good. Unfortunately, the food was not. It tasted like it was doused in salt. The breakfast bowl, which is pretty much the healthiest thing on their menu, tasted like it would give you high blood pressure. Like there was no flavor but salt. I also didn't like how the veggies were cooked. They weren't browned; they looked boiled or something. Really a weird choice. It came with two slices of bread, which were somehow also a disappointment. The piece of baguette was sweet! Sweet! As if the baker used sugar instead of salt. The second piece was a slice, and was fine but kind of dry. The waiter also gave me my check before I was ready. And was just a sourpuss the whole time. Great ambience both inside and outside depending on availability. It was Saturday around brunch time so the place was crowded. We have a party of 6 and found a table at the patio. Lucky! They do have a big community table (can seat 6-8) inside but it was just taken. Service was friendly and attentive despite us sitting outside. Our server David was awesome. He was being pulled in multiple directions and still able to get it all together. As for food, it was well put together. I enjoyed the brunch and the good times. There are covered parking at the Americana (entrance at central or brand boulevard) and they confirm that they no longer validate parking. This cafe's ordering process is confusing. The cashier who took our order was nice but it was overall very chaotic and hectic. It was Christmas Day with only that place being open so I understand. I ordered an Iced Vanilla Latte which is actually iced latte +$1 vanilla syrup + $1 oat milk so it was $7 for a small drink which is expected of LA area. I was really hoping the $7 would be worth it and it was!!! It tasted exactly like the one I get in NY every time I go. even some NY locations don't taste as good as this one spot I go in NY but now I know there's one in LA/Glendale that I can go to if I ever want it. read more

Tomato soup was delicious and the bread slice it came with was fresh. The avocado toast was a bit plain, but it did come sliced which made it easy to eat. The seating area was very packed. It's self serve, so you pick any empty table and the server comes to you. The tables are backed very close together making it uncomfortable if you have bags. They seemed to be busy and one of our orders (avocado toast) was not placed until the soup was delivered. The staff made it quickly thereafter. Overall, I'd recommend the drinks more than the food. We took my grandma here for Mother's Day. I'm glad we came early around 9:30 am because it was packed by 10. They were severely understaffed, only one guy managing the entire outdoor seating.
