I was on set for a couple days & the crew ordered the cast lunch from The Hut. I'm someone who needs a hearty meal to get through the long hours that filming often requires so the classic American fare featured on the menu was just what I craved. For day one, I ordered the steak sub with fries. The steak was perfectly seasoned & cooked & there was no skimping on the delicious toppings (mushrooms, bell peppers, onions & cheese) so I actually TASTED them in EVERY single bite! The fries were excellent, I was satiated & got through the rest of the work day without feeling "hangry." On day two, I decided to opt for the cheeseburger with fresh fruit. I was astounded at the size of the beef patty & again...I could taste the toppings in each bite. The watermelon was sweet & juicy...the perfect accompaniment to my burger. Um, yum ?!?! I've been on the hunt for solid chili cheese fries, and who knew these delicious ones were hiding right here? Before anything else, the staff deserves credit. They were friendly, patient, and set the tone for a great visit. I grabbed the breakfast on a bun too, and it was delicious. But those chili cheese fries stole the show. I was skeptical when I saw white cheese instead of the classic cheddar, but it completely worked. Anyone who loves chili cheese fries knows the fry itself matters, and these hit the sweet spot in both thickness and texture. This place has good food at a good price, hard to find in a town where the average meal normally cost $20 and up. Food is made fresh and quick every time, and plenty of options(off menu) for people with diet restrictions. Do not be fooled by the raving reviews this place has received, breakfast burrito was majority frozen hashbrowns, and oven melted mozzarella pizza cheese on top. Comes with salsa, which is sliced tomatoes with a few sliced onions, not to be confused with any oico de gallo I've ever seen. I didn't have a good experience. I ordered a chili cheese burger combo. My entire meal sucked. The fries have no seasoning and burned. My burger was also garbage. The patty had no seasoning and was dry. Tasted old. I have no expectations when I order from a place like this. Great place for lunch! Affordable and service is friendly. This location really caters to the local businesses. During lunchtime can get quite busy but for a good reason. It's good and not crazy expensive. Other reason is they sell Manzanita Sol. Every restaurant that serves the sugar masked apple soda has my vote. Life's guilty pleasures achieved! read more

I've been eyeing this place for awhile online so I decided I would give it a try today during my lunch. I had seen photos of "The Hut Sub". The sub was honestly just okay. The sub was tasteless. The mayo and mushrooms were dominating the sandwich's overall flavor. I could hardly taste the onions, bell peppers, bacon and beef. It seems like they didn't season the meat nor veggies. I bit disappointing considering their reviews. The size of their Sub is average although their pictures the owner took seem more grand. I did however like that they melted their cheese in the oven. That was very pleasant to see however couldn't taste. I can't say I'd come back but it's decent for what it is and its price point. read more

Little shack in a commercial/business area in Burbank. They got burgers, pizza, sandwiches. Tried out there steak sandwich (green bell peppers, onion, melted mozzarella cheese, topped with tomato, pickles on top and toasted sandwich bread. Pleasant surprise, I ordered the pastrami sandwich and my partner ordered a turkey wrap. The pastrami sandwich was really good with grilled onions, chipotle sauce, pickles and cheese that was finished by toasting in the oven for five minutes. I'd certainly do it again. From what I saw it's brother and brother in-law, dude were both very nice and welcoming and got our food out quickly. Not much on ambiance, three small tables and chairs in the waiting/lobby area unless there was additional seating in the rear of the restaurant. Not a bad spot to come for breakfast or lunch when you're in the area. Came here with a coworker to try it out since prices looked reasonable and food seemed good. We ordered the chili cheese fries (3.75/5), breakfast pizza (4/5), and a breakfast burrito (3.5). Out of all these, the pizza tasted the best as the dough was crunchy and everything on it was flavorful. The chili cheese fries had good chili, but the fries could have been better. The breakfast burrito kinda lacked flavor so I was a bit disappointed. Portions are on the smaller side, but the food is good nonetheless. Overall score: 3.75/5 read more

Hidden gem in the commercial film district area. This place has been my go to for work the past couple months. I always order the hut burger with cheese and a side of ranch before hand and they never miss a beat. For 6-7$ it's pretty good. Their burgers are always so fresh! Really hits the spot for a quick lunch grub. I've also tried their steak sub. Fire! There was one time where I called and they didn't answer. After talking to the owner he had 16-17 orders to fill in 30 minute time slots. He felt bad he couldn't answer and said he'd cook something up for me real quick on the spot. Despite the back orders to fulfill. (Around 11-12pm) There was also a time I was short on cash and the owner said "Don't worry about, just come back next time." With the amount of space available and limited staff, I'm very impressed by the quality of the food, commitment, and service they bring daily. I thought I'd save some money on delivery fees and service fees by doing take out. That was incredibly moronic on my part. Because when I picked up my order for Pizza Fries, Pepperoni Pizza and 2 Eggs Gondola, everything was supremely soggy. It had to have been sitting there for quite some time. The strange part was on the Pizza Fries, although the fries were soggy, the shredded cheese wasn't even melted. And the pizza and gondola crust were super crisp, but the the centers were mush. Great! Got it delivered and I was quite pleased. The crust was super crispy and had a nice texture. Pizza was very fresh and had plenty of toppings. Delivered in a very timely manner, as well. If I could make just a slight suggestion, I'd love the option of having some seasoning added to the crust. That was one of my first thoughts while I was eating it, that I'd like some extra flavor on the crust, and possibly a bit more sauce. ;) Other than that, I thought it was awesome! Tucked away near the Burbank airport is this absolute GEM! As the name implies, this is a smaller establishment with limited seating but the food is top notch! I had the cheesesteak sandwich, and the meat was flavorful and the perfectly toasted sandwich was topped with cheese that rounded out the flavor nicely. First time trying the hut. Got 2 sandwiches a salad & fries. Small order. I asked for a hot pastrami which comes with mustard,pickles & cheese. I asked for no cheese. What I got was no cheese no pickles and they added mayonnaise. It could have been a good sandwich the pastrami looked good it didn't have a whole bunch of fat, but the mayo pretty much ruined the sandwich even though I added pickles at home. But hey my husband loved his steak sandwich & the fries were pretty good. Forgot which app we used but they have a button that says( contactless delivery) that's always on & my husband didn't turn it off so I have no idea how long our food was on the porch. The restaurant followed directions and it was pretty good but the only thing is ridiculous is that it they charged 8 dollars for a Caesar salad but the salad wasn't really salad it was the same lettuce they used on the burger so eight dollars for that rabbit food is kinda ridiculous!!!!! The Hut is a new little eatery that was previously Giorgio's pizza. It's nestled on Vanowen place behind industrial buildings, so I would use google maps if you aren't familiar with the area. The fresh new paint and signage gives this place a nice bright look that the previous business was lacking. I placed a phone order for the steak sandwich combo and the lady that answered was very friendly and told me it would be ready in 15 minutes. When I arrived and told the lady what I ordered, she told me it was going to be ready in a couple minutes ,and to go ahead and grab my drink. The only negative in this visit was the drink options. As you can see in my picture, the only choices were Pepsi , water, Mountain Dew, sparkling water and root beer. They should have the drinks stocked at all times. At least have a few more options like Gatorade, sprite or ice tea. Anyways,I got my order and took it to go. The steak sandwich was delicious! Nice crispy hoagie, perfectly melted cheese and a generous amount of meat. The fries were perfectly made crinkle cut fries, that tasted like the crinkle cut fries that Carl's Jr had in the 80's.I was definitely satisfied with my meal. The meal was filling and well worth the price. I'm looking forward to try the pizza. If they add some drink options,I'm bumping to five stars. read more

I do not feel safe here during the pandemic. I was just there (Saturday morning) and the lady in front was NOT wearing a mask and was chewing gum!!! I feel bad writing this because I wanted to support a new, small business. I was craving a philly cheesesteak and the pics on here looked amazing. I am someone who is taking this pandemic very seriously. Since March, I have only gotten takeout/delivery 4 times. This was NOT worth the excursion. In hindsight, I should not have even entered the establishment. As a side note, the lady was looking down the whole time (not sure what she was doing) and never acknowledged my presence. She didn't look when my car lock noise sounded, didn't look when I walked in. I was inside there maybe 7-10 seconds which seems like a short time but is actually an eternity considering the minuscule size of this place. That was plenty of time to give eye contact, say hi, say "I'll be with you in a minute", anything.. but no, nothing at all. That plus my health concerns caused me to just leave. As I drove away, I considered taking a pic of this from my car but finally as my car passed by she looked up, and someone else was about to go in so I decided not to because I'm a wimp about taking pics of strangers. If someone especially in the food service industry needs to be told that they should be wearing a mask, then they are likely being reckless outside of work. I do not trust this. I will not even consider trying this place until a vaccine is widely available. UPDATE: In response to the owner's message, I am glad you are taking at least some precautions and it sucks that it's hot. I just could not believe what you were saying so I just read http://www.ph.lacounty.gov/media/Coronavirus/docs/protocols/Reopening_Restaurants.pdf . I am not a lawyer but I will point out these excerpts: 1) "Employees who have contact with others are offered, at no cost, an appropriate face covering that covers the nose and mouth. The covering is to be worn by the employee at all times during the workday when in contact or likely to come into contact with others." - if your business is open and your doors are open and you are sitting in the main dining area--the only spot where customers can go to upon entering the doors--then I would say you are "likely to come into contact with others" 2) " Employees need not wear a face covering when the employee is alone in a private office or a cubicle with a solid partition that exceeds the height of the employee when standing." - This was the main dining/ordering area, not a private office or cubicle 3) "Employees are prohibited from eating or drinking anywhere inside the food facility other than designated break rooms." - Sure chewing gum is not technically eating but I do not think the idea is about what goes on while your body is internally digesting the food. You're sitting there chomping away, releasing stuff in the air as you are chewing your gum I do not see anything that says it's ok to be in the main dining area, doing what ever you want, maskless as long as you put on a mask as soon as someone comes in or when you're handling food. Again, if you need someone to point these things out to you, you really don't get it and I can't trust this place. read more
