Hot dogs always hit and the fries are super yummy. Love stopping by when going to Lowe's. Nice outdoor seating and quick service.

Did you know you can get a quarter pounder at Tommy's? I didn't and I have been eating Tommy…read moreburgers for longer than most of you have been alive. Maybe this upgraded burger is only available at this location (and it is off the menu, of course). Or maybe the counter man who suggested it thought I needed something heftier than a single (unlikely). Whatever. The burger was absolutely delicious. Tommy's chili hasn't changed--ever--and I love the stuff. I get the burgers without tomatoes because they are tasteless but otherwise, these cheap delectable burgers are loaded with chopped onions, pickles, a ton of chili, and a ton of flavor. The fries are good and better than In-n-Out fries but that is a low threshold.

I have taken many trips to L.A. and I have yet to make a stop at Tommy's. Original Tommy's World…read moreFamous Hamburgers was founded in 1946 by Tom Koulax and started out as a food stand on the northeast corner of Beverly blvd and Rampart blvd. The original location still stands today and I have driven by it on a number of occasions. There are several locations across Los Angeles and a few in Nevada. This location was near my hotel in Burbank, so I thought I would give them a shot. Customer service wasn't bad. Tommy's Original has a walkup counter on the outside of an "A" framed building and had a few people in line when I arrived. It moved quickly and I order the classic Chili Cheeseburger and Fries. Tommy's is famous for their chili burger and dogs. The burger itself wasn't bad, just really messy. I think I would enjoy it more late night after a couple of drinks. Parking here is mostly on the side of the road.

After many years of driving by and saying "one of these days", it finally was the day…read more I didn't exactly know what to expect but it somehow managed to meet my expectations. I was given a brief explanation of the type of chili Chili John's serves, and the reason a "base" was needed which in my case I chose spaghetti and beans; others might chose one or the other, nothing or something else completely. The menu also explains the process. I was allowed to try a sample spoon of the spicy chili to see if I wanted a full serving of that or mild. I ended up deciding on medium, which, somehow logically was simply a half mild / half spicy serving . It was fine by me and I thought it was delicious. The ambiance is as to be expected for an establishment that's been around almost a 100 years. It adds to the character, as some might say, including me. I happened to be visiting during Chili John's 80yr anniversary month. Maybe some anniversary specials would have been good. Overall I would consider returning, not only to try a burger and other menu items, but also for a slice of homemade pies they offer.

Solid 4 star experience. Why not 5 stars? Would this chili win a chili contest? Probably not…read more Did I enjoy the experience overall? Yes The owner is friendly. Food came out fast. Price was fair. I prefer some tomato flavor in chili. I cant detect any tomatoes in this. It is greasy and salty and thick (not the best way). It doesnt taste that fresh and has been simmering for days. So not the best chili but a decent meal overall

If you're using credit/ debit cards, I would recommend using the kiosk to avoid the line. This location is usually not that busy during lunch time, but it gets really busy in the evening. There are a lot of pick up/ delivery orders which makes the wait time longer. For ambiance, this location has plenty of tables and it is clean and well maintained. Also, the restrooms are clean too. This location is street parking only and there is public parking in walking distance.

So someone else from the kitchen came out to help with pick up window. Therefore, total time spent to go in and pick up the food was about 5mins. What came down to give 3/5 stars was the food taste. It felt like the food quality has gone down from the time when they first opened. Maybe the sauce was overpowering the meat and cheese? Maybe the meat got cold too fast? Something didn't feel right. The more I took a bite, I just wasn't satisfied. The fries were slightly on the soggy side vs crispy. Maybe I should've asked to cook longer? I don't know exactly what it was but I wasn't happy with my food overall. However, paying only $1 for large size coke was amazing! Thanks for staying open though, you guys are better than McDonald's, jack in the box, or other fast food burger restaurants (except in n out)!

Shamey and Lyrik have the best customer service, charm and personality of any food stand vendors you'll come across in LA or the San Fernando Valley, popping up to help serve the nightlife crowd and support great local spots like The Buller Bar in North Hollywood. They do have vegetarian options and if when they can provide vegan ones (by default) as they did last night. I'm always grateful.
