My chicken sandwich was good, but it didn't have that "wow" factor that would make me want to order it again. The loaded fries were tasty too. Our total came to $81 for three burgers, three orders of fries, two drinks, and a shake. Since everything is à la carte, it felt a little pricey for what we received. Overall, I'm glad we tried it. The bun had a strong, stale odor that made it seem as though it had absorbed the smell of a pantry shelf or had been sitting far past its prime. The smell was so off-putting that I had to take the burger apart and eat only the patty. Even then, the patty itself was underwhelming, lacking both quality and flavor. For a restaurant known for its burgers, this was unacceptable. Our server, whose name I don't recall, was absent for most of the evening. While I understand restaurants get busy, being busy shouldn't come at the expense of basic attentiveness. On more than one occasion, she appeared too rushed to fully listen to what we were saying. At one point, my partner was still in the middle of speaking when she simply walked away before he had finished his sentence. That left us feeling dismissed rather than cared for. I've always associated Islands with consistently good food and friendly service, which is why this experience was so disappointing.
