Norm's is classic in Burbank - and rightfully so. This place has always been the place to go for a breakfast burrito. They hit the spot every time. They also have other classic diner style food including burgers and sandwiches (patty melts, pastrami, club, etc), and even teriyaki bowls. You can't go wrong with their fries and onion rings as a side - if you're in the mood for diner-style food you might as well get the best. Everything they make is great. It's a small but mighty restaurant with about 5 diner booths inside and a drive-through that's always busy. You can also call in orders to pick up. Staff is super kind and your order is made hot but efficient for how many orders come in. They have even added a veggie burger option and can make burritos vegetarian/plant-based (removing meat or cheese). Everyone can get something great here. I've driven by this spot and love that it looks like a hole in the wall classic diner and they advertise breakfast burritos, which are an obsession of mine. Today was finally the day I swung over! I'd recommend ordering from them online because they do get busy! You can also call in orders. I walked in and ordered at the counter. I was lucky to hit a time that wasn't as busy. I ordered the bacon and sausage burrito with no cheese. They have a couple of booths inside and some outside seating. The parking lot in back is small, but I snagged a spot there pretty easily! Okay, the burrito was SO good!!! The flavor was great and I basically inhaled it. They serve it with a green salsa on the side that has a nice kick and flavor. I was trying to eat it on my car before running into an appointment. This would be a better proper sit down burrito- it was hefty in the best way! I love a classic joint like this where it's no nonsense with good burrito/burger fare. They advertised burger specials inside that come with a small fry and small drink. A cool spot for lunch. They have parking in the back and a drive through. The staff is super friendly and the inside is a vibe. It's a local diner vibe. One thing I was surprised about was how affordable the food was. We finally caved in and decided to try breakfast burritos. We ordered two, a steak and chorizo one and a bacon and sausage one. The burritos are long and have a good weight to them. You could honestly share one if you're not too hungry. The bacon and sausage one had egg and hash browns. The steak and chorizo had eggs and beans. My favorite was the steak and chorizo it had a very homey flavor. Honestly can't wait to come back and get another one! Please do keep in mind that they do have a small parking lot! I'm not sure what's wrong w the staff here lately but they've been extremely short, rude and lazy. I've frequently visited this location for their breakfast burritos and recently I've asked for more chile sauce, and they flatly deny me it. Example: I asked for red salsa, and they tell me and my mom (separately) that they've run out. But after observing them, I realized no one wanted to go to the back for more. 20min later, someone is bringing it out from the back. How hard was it to say "we're working on bringing more up front". And in the few times more recently, the service has been slower. I understand being short staffed but by the time I received my burrito, it was already cold. The food here is either pretty good... average or just bad. It hit or miss, unfortunately. This place used to be solid.. you knew what to expect, and it kept me coming back. They are slow they take care of drive-through orders before they do phone orders and or walk-ins so if you're trying to order, just go through the drive-through and even then it's gonna take quite some time. Fire time ordering here for breakfast. Size of this burrito was huge and packed full which was awesome because that meant full stomach for longer! I got the bacon burrito and added chicken and avocado. This was really tasty! Super packed big chunks and shreds of potatoes and chicken, bacon pieces and well cooked eggs. It was hearty and satisfying. My only complaint? Barely a complaint, I just with they offered a mild salsa to come with like a pico or a mild verde. The salsa that arrived look great smelled nice but oh my gosh my mouth was on fire! Now granted my tolerance for spice is good but that went a bit over what I could take. Tasty though it was. My go-to spot for breakfast burritos in Burbank! There was a Saturday-morning-rush, so I did drive-thru and got the bacon breakfast burrito. From what I saw, they had 1 attendant taking orders for both drive-thru and indoor take-out counter. My wait/transaction/food received total time was about 15 min. I haven't eaten here in a while, but the bacon burrito tasted just like I remembered - savory, salty, and filling (ate half of it for breakfast because that's how quickly it satiated my hunger). There's a good ratio of filling and the salsa on the side's a nice kicker (I should've asked for more of it). If it wasn't obvious that I'll be returning to Norm's Hamburger for more, then consider this review as a sign. I'd love to try their chorizo burrito next because a family member recommended it! read more
