What a precious little hidden gem! This place is little hole in the wall that delivers big flavors. We wnt in around 1pm on a Friday to have Lily's famous clam chowder and wowww I see why my friend was raving about it. It was so fresh and so comforting to eat this soup and mind you the bowl was a very generous portion. We ordered the half soup half sandwhich combo and I got the grilled veggie sandwhich with clam chowder and my friend got the tuna sandwhich with clam chowder. When I got mt sandwhich I thought maybe it'll be a little dry. I have never misjudged a dish so much in my life. I thought the clam chowder was the star of the show, and it partially was, but this grilled veggie sandwhich stole the show, just WOW! Go try it yourself and tell me what an explosion of flavor and juices exist in this humble looking sandwhich that packs a huge flavor punch. My friend also got the Lily's house tea and I noticed most everyone else did too so I'll have to come back and try it as they gave rave reviews about it. I think we got lucky with the last portions of the soup, so come earlier to ensure you secure your bowl of chowder. The place is tiny, I couldn't take a photo because it was sooo packed and I didnt want to take photos of othe people. I mention this as you may not be able to find a spot to sit though service is pretty quick and courteous, it almost like going to your relatives house for a quick lunch type of vibe. If you haven't been, you're missing out, go and support this wonderful local business and blow your taste buds mind out of this world! read more

My favorite weekday lunch spot! Food is simple and fresh. I love the roasted turkey on ciabatta (toasted), pasta salad, vegetarian sandwich, and sweet iced tea. My fav dessert is the carrot cake, and my dad loves her pecan bar. Lily herself is always behind the counter and becomes quickly acquainted with her regulars. The shop itself is homey and quaint with limited seating, so I usually get my orders to go! PS she has a preference for cash and debit :) read more

Many people I personally know, love this place and recommends their beet salad, and turkey sandwich. However, I'm not a big soup, salad, sandwich person, but thought heck, why not. Let's give it a try. I opted to order the pastrami on ciabatta bread. It was good, however, the ratio of pastrami to bread was lacking. A lot of bread and not a lot of pastrami. I probably wouldn't order this again or change my bread type. Would love to try other items on the menu though. read more

This was my first time trying Lily's Cafe. The owner, Lily, and her helper were both very friendly and welcoming. The inside is small with around four tables, very clean, and has cute decor. After looking over the menu, I decided to order their turkey chili and a PB&J with banana sandwich. The turkey chili was good and came with fresh bread. The PB&J was packed nicely and actually pretty filling. The only surprise was seeing my sandwich made with JIF peanut butter. I was kinda expecting Justin's or something, lol. On a rainy day, I was craving some chicken noodle soup during lunch time. They were busy for a small mom an pop shop and their place can be easy to miss. I had to circle around 2 times but it is tucked near the corner with some street parking. The chicken noodle soup was more soup than noodles but it did hit the spot on a rainy day. read more

The rating should be a 5 star cafe. Had trouble with Yelp giving it a 5 star rating. It is a little cafe. Lily, the owner, gives amazing service and always has a smile on her face even when it is extremely busy. Excellent food. I have enjoyed their ham sandwich, soups and desserts, etc. Lily does prefer cash if possible. read more

What a total let-down. Yelp sent an email suggesting soup places near me. I guess I won't be reading those type of emails anymore. And, I cannot understand why the reviews here are so strong. It's a cute LITTLE place and the woman at the register was quite nice and was very nicely handling a ton of orders both on phone and in-person. They have a lot of choices on the menu with soups, salads and sandwiches. We ordered 2 sandwiches, 2 soups and two drinks and it came in a a whopping $52 before a tip! I wouldn't have felt so fleeced if the food wasn't so mediocre to bad. My wife got a ham sandwich that was fine. Pretty basic and not extremely appealing to look at but it was okay. She also got a turkey meatball soup that was fine. I got a pastrami sandwich and hated myself for ordering it from anywhere other than a good deli. There wasn't much to it and it was pretty basic. Then there was the chicken noodle soup that I ordered. It was more of a salt soup with other ingredients. It was impossible to eat and after three spoonsful, I had to stop. The woman at the counter offered something else, but why would I trust any other soup was better after the two we got? No refund offered, which was tacky. I'd never go back and cannot recommend it at all. I love to support small businesses, but there are so many other, better choices in the vicinity that I don't understand why anyone would bother. read more

Cute place on Magnolia close to Glenoaks. Pretty small, I wish they would have an outdoor area. Decent for a healthy lunch- soup, salads, sandwiches kind of menu, with some interesting twists. Also, OK for dessert and coffee. Homemade type, not a huge menu, but versatile, decent prices and portions. Not open on weekends so heads up! read more

I yelped Chicken noodle soup, and this place popped up. I decided to come here and buy some soup, and the lady who works here was nice and friendly. I took the soup home, and while it was delicious, it lacked noodles. This place also serves turkey chili, so I'd like to come back and try that at another time. read more

Did take out today and I enjoyed my meal. These ladies can cook ! The most delicious chicken noodle soup ! And the grilled veggie sandwich was fresh and filling. It's a cute shop. What a cute little gem this place is! I stopped by here for the first time because I was craving soup and Lily's showed up on my radar. I ordered two 1/2 sandwich combos that came with a bowl of soup. For the sandwiches I got the smoked turkey, and for soups I got the split pea and turkey meatball. I also ordered an unsweetened iced tea. Everything tasted very fresh and homemade! I love that they use organic ingredients as well. I wouldn't expect amazing flavor or anything unique because the food they make here is healthy and not loaded with fats like the soups/sandwiches at other places. Overall, my meal left me feeling very satisfied. I'd like to come back again to try some of their baked sweets! read more

This is as good as it gets for a small, family owned sandwich shop that serves salads, soups, baked goodies and some delicious ice t's. The service was on point and so was the food. Bring your appetite as the portions are a good size. Lily is the star of the show and is always super nice and super sweet. They've been here for over 25 years so they must be doing something right. Stumbled upon this little cafe craving coffee and a sweet treat. Turns out the sweet treat was meeting the amazing Lily. She treated all of her guests with such care and it made me want to be her friend. We ordered an iced americano, a turkey sandwich, and a chewy pie. When I bit into my Turkey sandwich, I was surprised with so many flavors. And fresh basil was a great touch. Served on hot and fresh ciabatta bread. Sensational. The chewy pie was so delicious. A true hidden gem in Burbank. I recently visited Lilys Cafe and I have been hooked. I am here several times a week now. Whether it's for one of their home made soups or delicious sandwiches, Lily always has something super fresh and delicious. I recommend: Lentil soup Pastrami sandwich (crowd favorite) Tuna sandwich The restaurant is tiny with only a few table but you can always take it to go for an amazing lunch. Also, Lily is an absolute sweetheart and know all of her customers by first name. Support you local small businesses and visit Lily. You'll be glad you did. read more

What a sweet, little cafe! We stopped at the Tesla charger and decided to take a walk to get a bite for breakfast. We had a yummy bowl of steel cut oatmeal with raisins, nuts, cinnamon along with a yummy plate of fresh fruit. Looking at the menu they have a good assortment of soups and sandwiches. I bet their soups are fantastic. It is obvious the owner cares very much about fresh ingredients and quality food. We highly recommend stopping in if you are in the area. read more

But every time i ordered egg rolls for takeout it is missing lettuce wraps. The one time i ordered and got the lettuce wraps with egg rolls, i had to explicitly tell them to add it that time. I thought this placed served the food as it should be in their culture? I've held back leaving a bad review of this place because i thought they would somehow improve or it was a one off mistake but this was the final straw. Consistently screwing up or intentionally holding back ingredients on takeout orders crazy. How much are you actually saving by with holding lettuce, sauce, and jalapenos??? This place used to be good, now it's just another above average spot. If you want banh mi, go somewhere else and be less disappointed.

The pancakes were warm and fluffy, and the fresh berries went really well with them. Everything tasted fresh, the portions were great, and the meal came out hot and nicely prepared. The eggs were prepped over medium, as requested. The eggs plus the fruit made for a quick and healthy breakfast, complemented perfectly by the pancakes. Overall, this was a great breakfast experience. Good food, great portions, welcoming service, and a comfortable neighborhood atmosphere. Parking and seating can be a little challenging because of the restaurant's size and popularity, but the food makes it well worth the visit. I'll definitely be back to try some of their Mexican breakfast dishes, especially the chilaquiles.

We were hoping they sold their bread at the bakery because it's absolutely delicious. Service is warm and friendly. Price point for breakfast with tip was $100. They don't take credit cards!! i ordered takeout, not realizing how small this restaurant is. I ordered for 6 people, and was told it would take about 30 minutes. i got there, and ended up waiting another 15 or so, for a total of 45 minutes, when it came time to pay. i found out that they did not take credit cards, and had to run to an ATM across the way to get cash. overall, the food was decent.. the bread was really good, the sandwich overall was dry. the salad was okay, kinda drenched in dressing. i don't think i'd order there again, though the owner was very nice about it & the food there looked pretty decent. read more

Let me tell you about lily's ..... this place is awesome!!!! lily is awesome!!! The sandwiches are sooo good the desserts are super. Try the sugar cookies! The ones with the pink icing! Things to know... lily's is busy. you should call your order in sometimes the wait is an hour or more!! there is table service also. don't ever leave without a dessert. Fresh, delicious and tasty homemade food! Definitely one of my favorite healthy restaurants that I always recommend to people in Burbank. Even though this place is hidden, it still gets packed. I would give it 5 stars, but the space is really tight and they only accept cash which is usually not convenient for most people including myself. Definitely try this place out for yourself because you won't regret it! Maybe take it to go or don't come in during lunch time. read more

A gem in the neighborhood. Space is airy and bright during the day (it does get dimmer at night, so try to find seating where lighting hits or find a seat in the tables next to the computers...it's bright in there). Music and background noise is pretty high so be prepared if you need a quiet day--it might not be the best place. I haven't (yet) had any heat/cool issues here yet. read more

I was totally amazed to find this kind of cafe in downtown. I must admit the experience I had last week was just superb. I had pastrami sandwich with the turkey chill and I must say those were simple out of the world. My family and I have been coming here for 10+ years. Lily's Cafe is right down our street so we've definitely taken advantage of it. I love that everything is made fresh (no packaged stuff), and her jello and home-made lemonade are to die for!
