Simple, high quality, very yummy! Went on a Thursday around lunch time, there was no wait but there was a constant flow of customers. We dined in, and the place has a diner vibe to it, nothing fancy. Got the Philly cheesesteak with mushrooms and fries. I felt the pricing was fair for the high quality meat, but the fries were a bit overpriced and not enough for sharing. Service was quick and efficent. Will definitely make this my go to spot when I crave a Philly cheesesteak. The image below is of half my sandwich because I forgot to take the photo before I started eating. There is a small parking lot but you may have to find street parking as it is a shared lot.

Good sandwiches, but a bit overpriced for the size that you get. Came here one night to get a couple Philly Cheese Steaks, a burger, and some onion rings. The burger was the best deal and tasted very good. The Cheese Steaks were just a bit pricy for what they are. The Onion rings consisted of about 5 onion rings for $5. I would not get those again. Service was fine, but not overly friendly. Kind of what I would expect from a Philly cheese steak place if I was back east. The man cooking the food was quite nice, but the guy at the registered made me feel like I was inconveniencing him. Of course this was counter service that makes you answer the "tip question at the end." I don't get why anyone would tip for "to go" food. But I know that many people do. I'm glad that they participate in AA dining, so i could score some miles from this meal.

It wasn't crowded on Monday about 1:30pm service was very quick! Cheesesteak to go and at home was still hot and delicious. Bread moist and steak and cheese flavorful! $14

Been going to this location for over 15 years. Look, it's not the best cheesesteak in town. You'll get a better one at Boo's or probably South Philly Experience. But it's a solid sandwich. It's a good portion for the price. For around 20 bucks you're gonna get a cheesesteak sandwich, fries, and a drink. I get the hoagie. I like lettuce, tomotoe, onions, and mayo in mine. They also have burgers and chicken steak options. And what's fun here is that you feel you're somewhere else besides LA experiencing a little piece of Philly. Great memorabilia on the walls. Jerseys. Pictures of players. My son and I have a good time there and feel like we're seeing some of Philly as we eat an LA Philly Cheesesteak. Boo's is great. It's yummy. But the seating area sucks and the prices are way up there. With Philly's best you get the food and a great experience setting.

I'm not much of a "sandwich" person so this was really going out of my comfort zone. My bf loves them and was craving a Philly so I was down to give it a try. Parking is small and was full so we parked on the small street right by it. Walking in, you notice all these autographed photos along the wall which made it seem like a popular hole in the wall. I was intrigued! I ordered a classic Philly for take out. Food came out quick and we took it home to enjoy. The meat is juicy, cheese was great, buns were nice but still somehow couldn't satisfy me. I was only able to eat half before I got tired of it. I tried adding multiple sauces and toppings to it that we had in our fridge but it just wasn't doing it any justice for me. Of course, that's probably just me since my bf gobbled his up! For what it is, it's great, just not for me. Maybe I'll try the mushroom and sweet pepper one next time since that seemed good. Solid cheesesteak/sandwich spot with lots of options. Cheesesteaks/sandwiches are about $12. Some other options include salads, chicken fingers, french fries and soft drinks. Lots of Philly-themed decor...nice to browse while you wait. A welcomed change to the fast-food places in the nearby area. Friendly and efficient staff.

I was craving a solid cheesesteak and this place knew just how to give it to me. I think the funniest thing about this place is just how unassuming it is, but I think we can all learn not to judge a book by it's over but by how packed full of flavor and meat this sandwich I ordered was. I was in flavortown with the tasty onions added in and the fries were nothing to laugh at either. Overall, I'm very happy with what I ate here. Suddenly, the east coast isn't so far away.

"Cheese Attack" Crew Special / steak, mushrooms, American, provolone, cheese wiz - 5! I only recently discovered Philly's Best Cheesesteaks, which is a shame because I love cheesesteaks! Cheesesteaks are in my top ten all-time favorite sandwiches. The Philly's Best Burbank store was my second visit to one of their locations. They have over a dozen locations around Southern California and if my first two visits are any indication, they all are amazing. In addition to their robust regular menu, the Burbank location also has a menu board with a bunch of custom combinations courtesy of their crew. I love this idea and I knew I had to order from their "secret" menu. I chose the Cheese Attack, featuring three melted cheeses. It was very cheesy but the flavors paired well with the steak and mushrooms without dominating the sandwich. Honestly, this could be a standard menu option and lots of people would enjoy it. My sandwich was fresh, hot, and delicious. Consistent with the other location, Philly's Best places the cheese on the bread before they add in the meat. I don't mind cheese on top but I like that everything stays together this way without making a mess. The staff was friendly and helpful. They were quick with the order. Like the other location I visited, they turn their shop into a shrine for Philadelphia and they also focus on street art accents which is nice to see. It is in a small strip mall with limited parking but there is lots of easy street parking nearby. I am two for two with Philly's Best and I look forward to discovering more of their locations as well as returning to the two I've been to so I can try more of their menu.

I was really happy when I went in than the restaurant because of the size didn't have a super over powering greasy food smell. There was only one other person inside so the service was fast and food was very fresh. I took the food to go and had about a 25 min ride home. When I finally got to eat the sandwich was still hot which was great. However by the time I ate it. I'm T was a little soggy too. I ordered a chicken Philly sandwich. It was good with a lot of chicken and cheese. I got it with onions peppers no mushrooms. Cause that's how I like my cheesesteaks. You have two options for size. A six or nine inch. I went with the nine inch. I'm not sure if I was just done but 6" with all of the meat would have been plenty. It ended up being a little on the salty side. The chicken was in chunks which made it a little unpleasant versus having the chicken in thin strips. At the end I enjoyed it but definitely think I would do the traditional Philly if I make it back. I would give 3.5 stars if possible but giving this place the benefit of the doubt based on other reviews and my choice of sandwich.

I heard a sad story that the Boo's Philly Cheesesteaks Silver Lake location was shutting down (they currently had locations in Echo Park and Koreatown), so I felt I had to pay my last respects to a place I frequented when I first moved into the area over a decade ago. Like a Tommy's burger, I craved something horribly sloppy and bad for you in every possible way, and for a time this was my go-to especially since I was able to take a casual walk to it. I'm older now and not necessarily wiser, but my body just couldn't handle it as it once did. Founded by an immigrant South Korean family by way of New Jersey, they made their way to Los Angeles to try and fill a need for authentic real cheesesteaks that any Philadelphian would proudly say "legit". Would I boo their Philly-inspired cheesesteak efforts!? PURCHASE(S) Cheese Fries Large ($7.95): A decent portion size of golden crispy crunchy steaming spud sticks with a side of hot gooey Cheez Whiz, ideally you'd scatter out the fries and pour the cheese on top of them. I was lazy and simply dunked each one into the cheese. However, you ran into the issue of your cheese solidifying which made it harder to dip your fries into it. Lesson learned... https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=9sOf0rQzJW9CNmfKuc_Ujw Boo's Pepper Mushroom Cheesesteak w/Cheez Whiz Sandwich ($13.95): Served with thinly-sliced steak, grilled onions, mushrooms, sweet peppers, and your choice of cheese (of course I went with Cheez Wiz!) on an amoroso roll, this was a hot mess (in a good way!) of epic proportions. The sandwich was stuffed to the edges of dripping hot steaming ingredients that burned the inside of your mouth if you weren't careful. Everything basically congealed as it started to cool due to its exposure to the air. All of the flavors eventually melded together with the separate flavors present when you first started devouring it. This wasn't for the faint of heart, and you may regret having eaten this monstrosity when you woke up in the morning. It was worth it! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=iojHuknmyjcxgnClXJ6pyA SERVICE I approached the outside self-service order kiosk, placed my order, and in less than ten minutes a young gentleman appeared from inside with my order in hand as he called out my name. It was all quick and painless - thank you! PARKING (FREE): I luckily found a spot in their tiny lot (maybe six spots total). Otherwise, there appeared to be plenty of parking along the main drag of Fountain Ave. and all surrounding side streets - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE In its latest incarnation since the pandemic, it had become only an order kiosk system and no more indoor dining. There was a communal wooden bench outside if you wanted to enjoy your meal. However, it wasn't very inviting, and you were up against a very busy, loud intersection. There was plenty of natural lighting since you were outdoors with only the electric street lights to help you at night. There were no TVs nor background music with the exception of the buzzing vehicle traffic. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=zqh3hCvkdUmGekZj-SBHTg ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL In my homage to Silver Lake's Boo's Philly Cheesesteak location, they were a wonderful piece of the neighborhood, still one of the best Philly cheesesteaks I've had outside of Philadelphia, and I always got my money's worth. The food wasn't healthy, but it did its job and tasted very good as it went down (coming out was a different story!). The prices were affordable and comparable, the portions were hefty, the menu selection was very limited, and the service was straightforward. .Plus, I always preferred to support small local mom & pop businesses. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $24.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). As I'm writing this, it's 11:39 PM, which is honestly the perfect time for one of these sandwiches--and look at that, they're open. That's kind of the point. This place shines late. A lot of the reviews that drag the rating down are straight-up delivery problems, not food problems. You're already paying more than a classic NYC bodega chopped cheese (which should be like $9), then you tack on delivery fees, then your DoorDash driver stacks orders, and by the time it gets to you... you're mad. And instead of being mad at the situation, people take it out on the restaurant. That's not on them. Here's a practical reason your tots aren't crunchy when you order delivery: the containers don't have ventilation holes. Steam builds up. Soft tots are inevitable. Either they start punching holes in every box, or you accept your fate ‍. This is another reason to eat it fresh. Inside, it's simple--walk up, order, wait. It looks like a bodega, just about ten dollars more. But if you're there in person, there's actual customer service. You can shoot the shit while your food's being made, get it hot, and eat it the way it's supposed to be eaten. Every time I've had this food the right way, I've either ordered in person or picked it up immediately. Do that, especially late at night, and this place absolutely delivers.
