Don't waste your time or money here. Gave this place another try after a lackluster first experience and it was somehow even worse. This business is probably one that should have gone under during the pandemic. The workers spend more time chatting with one another and cleaning up behind the counter than actually providing service or making your food. I had 4 people order before me and they got their food in a decent amount of time (15 min) though still a wait. My food took almost 30 min. for 2 sandwiches. Completely unacceptable when you're busy not filling orders and looking at the same order tickets multiple times to figure out what to cook. And occupied with sweeping in between attempting to make orders, all while their computer system was down since they could not even take app orders or credit card payments. Maybe those customers were the lucky ones. As far as cleanliness, maybe the health dept. should drop by for a surprise inspection. Workers using the same gloves to touch mops/brooms as well as food and the grill. Definitely not sanitary by any means and probably something that should be addressed, yet I have a feeling neither management or the employees care. I wish I could say I was surprised, but this place should fall the waist side so something better can potentially take it's place. By far, it's not my first cheesesteak. I went wild when I last visited Philadelphia and didn't stop cheesesteaking until I hit the plane back (from Reading Terminal through the Italian Market, Old City, et.al. - Pat's, Geno's, John's, The Original, Campo's, Spataro's, Tommy Dinic's, Max's, Jim's, Joe's, Nick's... yes, I was on a business expense list at the time. Different story, I ate a lot of Tastykake and Herr's, too. Wandering around Burbank, I did run into Charley's, and it reminded me of what a Subway is to a decent hoagie. This place (PB) has been sitting across from our favorite pet supply store (Centinela) for years. I opted in about 7 years ago and ordered a PBC with(wid) Wiz. From the first bite, that's the flavor and texture I remembered. Now... PBC is also a franchised chain. but I will say, this particular Burbank location never seems like one. There's the usual standard menus and glossy chain-furnished marketing posters. And then there's the local sandwich board which has BUR exclusives on it. And that's where the West Coast inventiveness takes over. One of my go-to's is the D-Rock, which is sort of like a PBC with a pepperoni pizza in it, because I kind of like what I grew up with - the Italian Beef hoagie. The onion rings are great and lightly battered, and go great if you top them with the cheesesteak and Wiz (which is another local off-menu option). The Amarosa's here are daily, so they're always fresh and puffy spongy with that delicate outer crunch. Not a place for V/V+ as your options are basically fries, onion rings and a dinner salad - or maybe you can order an all-veggie hoagie and at least enjoy an Amarosa. Btw, their tuna fish/tuna salad is also pretty good here, if you're not doing beef, pork, chicken or turkey. Shared strip lot parking that's pretty open except for weekday rush lunch hours, but plenty of nearby street parking in the neighborhood. Food service turnaround is about 10-15 minutes, all made-to-order. It's kind of a sports bar like place, but without a lot of TV's around, but there are a couple you could watch a game or two on while you're hitting steaks and beer (they do now have an B&W license here.) Can't personally report on the other 18 locations, but Burbank is solid, mostly because the demographics are good to keep them going without depending on mall-type traffic (lots of studios nearby cater from here for lunches and such.) read more

Hands down, the most legit Philadelphia style Philly cheesteak I've been fortunate enough to find in LA. In Burbank, but still counts. Great little neighborhood spot and staff too. Perfect meat to bread ratio. Perfect amount of toppings to cheese and condiments ratio as well. And if it's not on Amoroso rolls, ITS NOT A PHILLY. I've been a long time customer and I am writing this in the hopes the owner reads these reviews and is open to my intended constructive criticism. The food is still good, but has fallen considerably since the business first opened. I though it might just be me but a colleague agreed with my observations. I'm not sure what changed but for sure the cheese (wiz) is now watery and doesn't blend with the meat like it used to. This was my "go to" reason but unfortunately, not anymore. Service... fast food is a competitive business and again, when Philly's Best opened, the people behind the counter were very welcoming. This is not the case anymore. Three friends decided to do a cheesesteak challenge. We bought cheesesteaks wit (fried onions) and peppers at Philly's Best, Boo's, and Philadelphia Steak & Hoagie and brought them back to my house for a taste-off. All 3 of us thought that Philly's Best was the best. The cheesesteak had good flavor, the bun held up well, but did not overpower the meat, and there was just the right amount of onions and peppers. I'm a fan of cheesesteak sandwiches. I've had my share of them over the years including the opportunity to have eaten at Geno's and Pat's in Philly (you think USC and UCLA is a rivalry). The sandwiches have noticeably gotten smaller and the prices have creeped up. The customer service could use a little brushing up , too. The employees are very straightforward. The interior is back open for dine-in but they still don't have the pickle station open. There are plenty of tables on the inside with a couple T.V's showing CNN news . It's a great spot in Burbank for a good old fashion Philly cheesesteak. I stopped in here for dinner. It's located in a short strip mall on Olive Avenue so be careful not to miss it. they have their own parking lot so parking is ample. I had the mushroom version of the Philly cheesesteak, my only comment is they ask you if you want onions. Onions have always being part of the cheese Philly cheesesteak experience. So we guess that's just part of the westernized experience. However this place is great my cheesesteak was just like pets. They have chips in a rack of tasty cakes just like Philly. While their signature cheesteak has mushrooms and peppers, what we wanted was the basic cheesteak, which has white American on the menu, but can be substituted with cheese whiz and grilled onions can be added. A original cheesteak and cheesteak fries order, both with grilled onions costed $19. I wish the cheesteak had more onions and more cheese. The bread was also extremely soft, like an untoasted burger bun, which made it less appealing. The fries were delicious though, perfectly textured. Overall, not a bad meal. I believe I built myself back up to be able to eat meat and honestly this cheesesteak brought me back to memories of my home town Camden, NJ which is minutes away from Philly. Saw this place on my way to Walmart so decided to stop by......big mistake!! ordered the pepper steak and fries. Unfortunately no combo options! Which sucks! The food was terrible. My stomach is still growling....the fries were horrible overcooked and nonedible and after paying 5.00 for them I expected it to be good. However that was not the case! The sandwich was definitely not good enough for me to come back. Now as a Healthcare professional I cringe when I see folks use gloves improperly! It literally boils me! Went for lunch today on a Saturday around noon and loved it! I don't know why people have complained about service... all workers were AWESOME, on point, and very helpful with smiles! I ordered the cheese attack with added grilled onions with extra cheese wiz! So cheesy and DELICIOUS! My company got the phillys best and really enjoyed it. We split an order of fries which of course I devoured with malt vinegar they have at their side bar (they have pickles and peppers along with condiments next to the soda machine). I know they can get busy (I can clearly see why!) but it was lovely and not busy when I went with a lot of seating. I think the prices for what you get is good. I bagged up the other half of mine where my company devoured theirs. You can go in and ask for a bag and "foil wrapper" to wrap it up to go. Not that this review will matter because they're the only game in town, or one of them, which they know. But a few things would make it better, if the lady at the front refrained from staring at you to make sure you left a tip on an already frankly ridiculous tab. If bags of chips that should be a dollar didn't cost $2.25 I'd be inclined to leave more. Being from Philly myself, I can say that do usual "cost of business for importing etc." excuses don't work on me. But at the same time I can also say if it was a little bit more reasonable I'd be here almost every day. But frankly the money grubbing atmosphere makes it for a "only when you're really craving it" stop. Just to be clear, the staff are pleasant and friendly.
