Really cool and fun place to stop at! It was open later, so it was convenient for me and the associate helping me was very friendly and welcoming. This is a wrap like no other. After I placed my order for the beef Mediterranean wrap, the lettuce was chopped fresh and the beef was chopped up and grilled right then. There was the perfect amount of cilantro and onions, and the pickles were a nice compliment in the balance of the taste. The wrap itself, has an incredible texture, it starts very large and is then grilled after it's wrapped. It holds together and does not fall apart and you just wanna eat every bite. Not greasy and light tasting I think I chose the right dinner that night. I went to pay the associate at the register and he skipped the tip option. I told him if he could go back... so that way I can enter a tip, but he said that's OK and smiled. Very nice and kind gesture. Fresh food, cool people kind of tricky to park. I don't usually give five stars, but the experience achieved it. Thanks for the suggestion, Yelp!

Double smashed burger and Mediterranean beef plate
    Jonnie N.

The place was opened last week and my friend wanted to try it out because we're always in the mood for Mediterranean cuisine and the videos on Instagram look so salivating. We ordered a double smashed burger and a Mediterranean beef plate to share amongst the two of us and the portion was very generous we could barely finish our food. The smashed burger was one of the best testing burger we've eaten; the patty was juicy and favorful while the charred edges was so beef-y and crispy giving it a contrasting textures. The sauce was creamy but not overpowering the patty, and the bun was buttered and grilled to perfection. The beef in the plate was made from actual beef rather than ground beef and very well-seasoned. The owner / chef informed that the meat was marinated the day before so all flavors can make friends with each other before being grilled on order, making it so juicy with flavorful charred bits. The salad that comes with the plate had hints of herbs and wasn't overly vinegary and thus brought a very refreshing note to the whole dish and accompanied the seasoned rice very well. Both the owner / chef and the staff were very friendly, checking on us from time to time, and sharing stories of how the food was made. They even offered us an extra beverage and a Mediterranean chicken plate, both on the house. While we accepted the free beverage, we had to decline the offer for the chicken plate because we were too full and had a 2-hour movie afterwards and we didn't want to good food to go to waste sitting in the hot car. All in all, it was a very satisfying meal and we'll definitely be back to try the chicken plate as well as other dishes!

This unassuming, no frills, restaurant packs a punch with their cheesesteaks. One of the better ones I've had in Los Angeles. There's about 3 tables inside and 2 small tables outside so it is small but they are fast. My sandwich was ready within 10 minutes. I think they might be Armenian because there was a sign for Armenian coffee out front and I wanted to try it but it was already later in the day. Just gives me an excuse to come by next time I'm in the Burbank area! The worker who I think might've been the owner was really nice and welcoming.

Food is still great, beef plate or wrap are the way to go usually. The phone number listed is out of service. There's another number that works so needs to update here on yelp. Try 818-861-7020.

I made it a combo and also ordered the hot lemon pepper wings. Wasn't mad about my food. It kept my tastebuds occupied for the England v France bronze game. The portions, for what I paid...I'll accept. The cheesesteak landscape in LA is still a small neighborhood. You got the mall chain, the imported-from-Philly chain (my fave), and the indie complex, where Jawny's and a handful of other developing entities reside. LA loves a good hot, chopped sandwich and businesses will continue to showcase their take on the east coast institution. Even fast service megas, like Jack in the Crack and Arby's, are making sure they can ride the cheesesteak wave. Did Jawny's keep up with my favorite? Not so much. Not with the classic. I'm not even sure what was so proprietary about the house made Wiz. And the overall value made the original steak feel like more of a hyped, boutique version of the cheesteak. It just wasn't substance-forward. But this restaurant will technically be more accessible than the carwash pop-up was, and that counts in my hemisphere. To be honest, I see myself ordering their wings more often, as a closer alternative to Wingstop. Ultimately, Jawny's is middle of the road for me. Seems it'll be passible food that I can stand to pay for some of the time. But congratulations on a place to call your own, y'all! That much, for sure, deserves a salute.

I heard a sad story that the Boo's Philly Cheesesteaks Silver Lake location was shutting down (they currently had locations in Echo Park and Koreatown), so I felt I had to pay my last respects to a place I frequented when I first moved into the area over a decade ago. Like a Tommy's burger, I craved something horribly sloppy and bad for you in every possible way, and for a time this was my go-to especially since I was able to take a casual walk to it. I'm older now and not necessarily wiser, but my body just couldn't handle it as it once did. Founded by an immigrant South Korean family by way of New Jersey, they made their way to Los Angeles to try and fill a need for authentic real cheesesteaks that any Philadelphian would proudly say "legit". Would I boo their Philly-inspired cheesesteak efforts!? PURCHASE(S) Cheese Fries Large ($7.95): A decent portion size of golden crispy crunchy steaming spud sticks with a side of hot gooey Cheez Whiz, ideally you'd scatter out the fries and pour the cheese on top of them. I was lazy and simply dunked each one into the cheese. However, you ran into the issue of your cheese solidifying which made it harder to dip your fries into it. Lesson learned... https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=9sOf0rQzJW9CNmfKuc_Ujw Boo's Pepper Mushroom Cheesesteak w/Cheez Whiz Sandwich ($13.95): Served with thinly-sliced steak, grilled onions, mushrooms, sweet peppers, and your choice of cheese (of course I went with Cheez Wiz!) on an amoroso roll, this was a hot mess (in a good way!) of epic proportions. The sandwich was stuffed to the edges of dripping hot steaming ingredients that burned the inside of your mouth if you weren't careful. Everything basically congealed as it started to cool due to its exposure to the air. All of the flavors eventually melded together with the separate flavors present when you first started devouring it. This wasn't for the faint of heart, and you may regret having eaten this monstrosity when you woke up in the morning. It was worth it! https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=iojHuknmyjcxgnClXJ6pyA SERVICE I approached the outside self-service order kiosk, placed my order, and in less than ten minutes a young gentleman appeared from inside with my order in hand as he called out my name. It was all quick and painless - thank you! PARKING (FREE): I luckily found a spot in their tiny lot (maybe six spots total). Otherwise, there appeared to be plenty of parking along the main drag of Fountain Ave. and all surrounding side streets - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE In its latest incarnation since the pandemic, it had become only an order kiosk system and no more indoor dining. There was a communal wooden bench outside if you wanted to enjoy your meal. However, it wasn't very inviting, and you were up against a very busy, loud intersection. There was plenty of natural lighting since you were outdoors with only the electric street lights to help you at night. There were no TVs nor background music with the exception of the buzzing vehicle traffic. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&select=zqh3hCvkdUmGekZj-SBHTg ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL In my homage to Silver Lake's Boo's Philly Cheesesteak location, they were a wonderful piece of the neighborhood, still one of the best Philly cheesesteaks I've had outside of Philadelphia, and I always got my money's worth. The food wasn't healthy, but it did its job and tasted very good as it went down (coming out was a different story!). The prices were affordable and comparable, the portions were hefty, the menu selection was very limited, and the service was straightforward. .Plus, I always preferred to support small local mom & pop businesses. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $24.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

I've been a frequent flyer of Boo's (since I'm over in Ktown) and also quite a few orders over the years from South Philly Experience and twice from Matu (but that's a major treat and honestly way overpriced). All of these have their own great bits about them and I love all these spots. This isn't going to be a "who's better than who" since each is different in their own right and hits the spot different ways. I got the sweet pepper steak on seeded roll with of course, Cooper's! Then I got a classic Italian hoagie (with Cooper's) loaded up double meat/cheese. Biiiiig bonus using Boar's Head meats too, top shelf stuff. The fact that they're using Cooper's is a major plus and can get a seeded roll is such a nice touch. I do love a classic Amoroso, but seeded with the cheesesteak and Cooper's gives Matu a run for its money (and saves my wallet). Of course the meat quality is very different due to Matu using Wagyu but let's be real, that's really what you're paying for there. It's a nice treat but not an every other day get your money's worth. I feel I've found my favourite cheesesteak now though! The roll is super fluffy and crunchy where it needs to be. That thing was swaddled like a cared for newborn when it arrived and still hot from Melrose. Absolute 9/10 for me. The Italian was properly loaded and as I sit here enjoying it, a nice zingy break between cheesesteak bites as I split them half and half for lunch. For speed I love some Boo's, for the grill char taste I love some South Philly Experience but overall for my favourite spot now, it's Philly's Best off Melrose. Matu again is a great quality cut treat but the wait, the cost and the amount you get is not really worth it. Will absolutely be ordering from this place again in the future!!

It's a shame that this place has tanked in food quality but also service. I was going to bring my out of state friend here to give her review on this food but now I don't think I will ever return. Stopped in after a night out and honestly... this is exactly what you want when you're hungry,…read moretired, and craving something good. The chopped cheese was juicy, cheesy, perfectly seasoned, and stacked on a soft roll that held everything together without getting soggy. Every bite was messy in the best way. The flavors were on point, portions were generous, and it was fresh and hot--no shortcuts here. You can tell they know what they're doing. Service was quick and friendly too, which is always a win. If you're out in Hollywood and need something satisfying after a night out (or even just a casual food stop), this is your place. I'll 100% be back.

I was here on opening day when the hype was real, the wait was over an hour, and Michael B. Jordan even showed up. I've got the T-shirt to prove it (I'll dig it up). As I'm writing this, it's 11:39 PM, which is honestly the perfect time for one of these sandwiches--and look at that, they're open. That's kind of the point. This place shines late. A lot of the reviews that drag the rating down are straight-up delivery problems, not food problems. You're already paying more than a classic NYC bodega chopped cheese (which should be like $9), then you tack on delivery fees, then your DoorDash driver stacks orders, and by the time it gets to you... you're mad. And instead of being mad at the situation, people take it out on the restaurant. That's not on them. Here's a practical reason your tots aren't crunchy when you order delivery: the containers don't have ventilation holes. Steam builds up. Soft tots are inevitable. Either they start punching holes in every box, or you accept your fate ‍. This is another reason to eat it fresh. Inside, it's simple--walk up, order, wait. It looks like a bodega, just about ten dollars more. But if you're there in person, there's actual customer service. You can shoot the shit while your food's being made, get it hot, and eat it the way it's supposed to be eaten. Every time I've had this food the right way, I've either ordered in person or picked it up immediately. Do that, especially late at night, and this place absolutely delivers.

Sunday mornings were sacred in our house, my dad would always bring some for breakfast. We tried it from so many different places in LA over the years, so I know what real khachapuri should taste like. I've now had it from Oui Melrose (2 days in a row ), and honestly, there are no words for how incredible it is. The bread, the cheese, the whole experience, it rivals the best I've ever had, and it brought back so many warm memories of those Sunday mornings. If you've never tried Oui Melrose you're missing out, this is the place. Everything I've tried is incredible.

The menu is not complicated or very large, and has a specialty item like a stuffed bread with different options named after possibly the founder of the restaurant. Khachapuri is the item, but we did not get it this time. We got a Chicken Ceaser Laffa wrap as well as a Chicken Parm and Bolognese sandwich. They did not take very long to get prepared and brought to our table. These are very good size sandwiches, you can easily eat it as two meals. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and helped us make our decision on what to order. It is a very bright place. Has odd artwork, not really a style or anything. A picture of a cow, a watercolor landscape. A fish chart. Something else that I forget.... Just odd, does not really work together, but oh well. Maybe these are from employees or were donated or something. But on to the sandwiches.... They were really good. I think I liked the Ceaser better than the chicken parm and Bolognese sandwich. But it was a hot day and the Ceaser was a bit more refreshing. The bread and wrap were good. Lots of sauce and dressing. Lots of stuff stuffed into the sandwiches. Good stuff. Parking can be tricky. I would like to try out some of the other menu items one of these days.
