I have been passing by this location for a long time. I finally decided to give it a try. Ordering is in person ,kiosks and online. This location has a lot of DoorDash, Uber Eats orders which makes the wait time longer. I placed an order using the kiosks and had to wait for almost 25 minutes for my order. Next time I will place an online order to avoid the wait. Food was amazing. I don't eat spicy food so it was great that they had mild options too. System gives you option to pick if you want mild, medium or hot which is great. I was hesitant to go because I thought everything would be too spicy, but glad that I went and got some yummy food. It did end up taking around 35 minutes since they were backed up. I ordered the slider combo that brings two sliders and fries! The hot wasn't hot compared to other hot chicken places. However it was very crunchy, juicy and flavorful! I will say I appreciate the amount of pickles they add to the sliders as they really up the taste! The fries were well seasoned & crunchy! Pretty solid chicken. We got a 'slider' and tender meal. Fries were good, chicken was pretty tasty. The 'slider' is a sandwich, so that's a bit confusing when ordering. Smaller than what you get at another fast food chicken spot's sandwich, but decent, just the same. They also have a mini slider deal that I am guessing are true sliders. Service was very friendly. The place is somewhat stark, concrete and graffiti art all over. Tables didn't look clean and we asked for a wipedown. She told us they just look that way but did wipe ours down. Came here as a party of two on a Saturday around 1PM. It was pretty busy. We ordered at the kiosk. The ambience was definitely fast casual. As far as service goes it was average to slow. It definitely was not quick. I ordered the single two tenders in hot. I think the ratio of breading to chicken was pretty good, but not perfect. The chicken is more important than the breading, however the breading holds the flavor. The chicken was breaded and moist, as well as properly spiced. I love pickles, so those are always a nice touch. The bread is unnecessary to eat however, I understand its purpose, with fried food, of course. For the price, it's an above average meal, when comparing to other chicken shops like Chick-fil-A. One thing I wish Dave's would change is, getting rid of American cheese, because it's just so gross. read more

Haven't been to Dave's hot chicken in almost 3 years and decided to go here with some friends to try it again after so long. Went to the Burbank location and it was quite busy which is interesting because they usually aren't that busy but then again this was 2-3 years ago and maybe times have changed. I heard about them releasing mozzarella sticks but it was sold out which was a shame. I ended up getting a tender combo one hot and one medium with cheese fries and a small drink. Got my order and was Kind of disappointed with my fries. I got so little for what I paid for not to mention when I first bit into it it tasted a bit stale like it sat there for awhile. It was quite disappointing. Tried my tenders, I went for the medium it was ok, some parts of it were burned and not seasoned properly. Went for the hot and it was also poorly seasoned and parts of it were burned. I remember they used to give 5 pickles but I only had 3 which is kind of lame as I love pickles! Wanted to get a drink but as soon as I sat down and waited for my order some guy went up and put an out of order sign on the machine. I tried to get some type of exchange for my drink with a bottled water at least but it wasn't allowed and the funny thing is my friend got a bottled coke for his replacement and bottled Dr Pepper as they also ordered fountain drinks and they didn't have to pay they were just given and some people too also like I saw lady ask for water because she couldn't get water as the machine was "out of order" and she got one just fine and I didn't see her pull out her wallet or anything but I was tol to do the whole process and reorder just for a bottle of water? That doesn't really make sense and kind of dumb too which was slightly annoying. Anyways, our table was one of a few that were dirty but the least dirty (no sauce smeared on table and fry bits and drink puddles like some vacant ones) but it did have chicken crumbs and left over. The ambiance was cool I like the art and music but it doesn't justify nor help the fact that the portion of fries were small and stale for what I've paid for, less pickles given, I was denied a drink swap when others were allowed to freely my chicken was poorly seasoned and slightly burned. I think the only good experience I had was the side of ranch which by the way I'm surprised they even have that. I think overly my experience went poorly at this location. I don't think I'd want to return here maybe I'll go to another location to see if will fair better but overall not the Dave's hot chicken I remember from the parking lot days in Hollywood it's unfortunately a shadow of its former self.. If you order takeout from this location, be sure to triple check your order before leaving, especially if you're paying more for upgrades, sauces, etc. Looking at the reviews below this one, it seems getting orders wrong is a regular occurrence here. I essentially received 2 out of 2 items wrong. I don't understand how someone looks at the top of the takeout box, with a very clear sticker detailing what the boxes contents should be, and then just puts in something else entirely? Baffling. Worst customer service I ever had. I called this restaurant 10 times nobody ever answers the phone. The reason I'm trying to call it's because I ordered using Uber Eats, and the last 3 times they haven't put any sauce with my order those packets of sauces so I ordered those extra last time on purpose cause I was like they will send it finally I paid for it. Places the order and once we got it there was 2 strands of copper/orange hair on our food. I immediately went and returned it. The 2 ladies at the counter looked at each other and smiled, no apologies, nothing, and the older one called Angel, who was I guess a manager to come and help. He refunded and apologized and wanted to replace our food and I said no and walked away. Inside was a mess. The napkin dispenser was empty, trash bin was overfilled inside the store and water or left over of the drinks from the cups inside the trash covered the floor and went under one of the tables. I've gone to this location many many times can't even count in two hands. Unfortunately today was a different story. I placed an order on the self checkout machines and it's clear to me my order went through because my bank statements showed me I was charged. I told my boyfriend they are taking way longer than usual and his order came out before mine since we ordered separately. Point is it's now 20 minutes and he asked the young women about it and apparently my order didn't go through their system and i saw nothing was happening so I got up and spoke to her and told her which machine I ordered on and showed her my bank statement. At this point not sure if it's the supervisor or store manager but he was on the phone not sure what he was trying to get but he opened where the receipt comes out of (fyi never does it give me a receipt option idk if it just doesn't have paper or never works) and the screen just said pin so I patiently waited didn't say nothing stood there for a few minutes then decided to sit at this point my boyfriend was done eating and still nothing even after I showed them my bank statement and the time. After almost an hour she finally decided to offer me a meal with no charge. I was upset at this point I told her I'm okay and I won't take it. this is my first time coming to Dave's hot chicken in the empire center that is located in burbank. i was craving a chicken sandwich with some coleslaw inside and since i was already shopping in the empire center I decided to give this place a try. I would have to say that the photos Dave's chicken advertises is false advertising cause the food comes out looking nothing like the photos they promote. As you can see in MY photo, this is what you ACTUALLY get. i mean.. where is my coleslaw? the cook put like 4 cabbages and called it a day. the sauce was very little. just 2 pickles in the sandwich, some pickles on the side & that's it. i do have to say the chicken was nicely cooked and seasoned well, which is why i gave 2 stars. the fries were nicely seasoned and cooked. their blueberry slushee is good. the ordering process was quick. waiting for the food does take some time. i wouldn't come back to this location. read more

I got medium heat and it wasn't spicy at all. It was flavorful and had a crispy skin. It tasted good. Dave's is probably the best Nashville style chicken place in Southern California. It's always busy and now they are opening new locations all around the country. Customer service was ok, could have been more friendlier but lately it's hard to find that.
