    Bulgogi pizza
    Monica M.

On this day we ordered the Bulgogi pizza which was disappointing. Pizza was salty, limited bulgogi and the corn was unnecessary and didn't add any flavor to it. The crust is super thin which isn't a big deal but preferably a thicker dough would hold the topping better. Thw issue is the consistency of the dough is always different, its a gamble you may get a nicely baked pizza or you may get an over cooked or even worse burnt crust. The pizza is so small & pricey for the size (anywhere from $19-$26) and not knowing if your pizza will come out nicely baked or overly cooked/burnt isn't a gamble I want to take. Weeks back we had the the "Bombay tikka" that one had better flavors, although the crust was overly cooked/burnt. The service has been good the 3x we've been here, the workers are always friendly and ready to help with any question, the spot is small and the decor felt like we were back in Italy, but the uncertainty of how cooked/burnt the pizza will be isn't a gamble I'm willing to take again, I like consistency. In San Fernando (on San Fernando Road) there are 2 Mom & Pop pizza shops that have more flavorful pizzas, bigger proportions and always consistent with the crust.

This place is definitely a mom and pop hidden gem in Sunland, CA. It's tucked away in a small plaza with its own self-parking parking lot. I must say that it's one of the best pizzerias that I have been to in such a long time. Definitely not your traditional pizzas, but more with true whole flavors. Its specialized gourmet pizzas and being cooked in a wood burning oven even better. There is seating inside as well as outside. They are also located across the street to the public park. I was invited here by one of my friends. She's gluten free and I have been wanting to try it for some time. She invited me to meet up here. I must say it's definitely a location to try and keep saved. Trying out the Gluten Free pizza was amazing. The pizza was so full of flavor that the dough itself I couldn't even taste the difference to regular pizza. Oscar helped us out. He was great at explaining everything that goes on the pizza. He was knowledgeable, attentive, and made sure that we were fully satisfied with our choices of pizzas. The vibe is cozy, casual, and they are very welcoming - especially if it's your first time there. Being my first time here, Oscar made me feel as if I hadn't been here in a while and gave me a feeling like I was missed. They use ingredients that are imported from Italy. They have several culinary awards and recognitions from ABC 7, Food Network, International Pizza Championship - Parma Italy to name a few and others. I tried That's A'More (Classic Pistachio Pesto - Bianca) Pistachio pesto, buttery creamy cheese, fontina, fresh mozzarella, napoli sea salt, extra virgin olive oil, seasoned with oregano, thyme, and rosemary. I added garlic chicken. My friend ordered the Gluten Free All Fired Up! Smokey beef spicy pizza house made with BBQ sauce, hand crushed san marzano tomatoes, sweet peppers, onions, mozzarella, olive oil, and himalayan salt. Next time, I'll have to try the Tuscany and Bombay Tikka Masala. To my surprise, they are very flexible/accommodating for Vegan/Gluten Free crust options. They also have standard Halal meats. Overall, I can't wait to come back. This place is worth every cent!

We got the Bombay Tikka Masala pizza and the La Americana pizza. Both were delicious. They were freshly made in like 5 - 6 minutes and came out perfect. The chef was very friendly.

This pizza place has been on my go-to list for a while now, and it absolutely delivers on the hype. What makes 786 Degrees so special is their creative approach to pizza. They're treating each pie like a passport stamp, incorporating international influences that make every bite feel like a mini culinary adventure. We'd be remiss not to mention the Chicken Tikka Masala pizza. The sauce was incredibly flavorful, and the chicken was cooked to perfection with just the right amount of char on the crust. The dough had great texture, though I personally would've loved a bit more depth of flavor from fermentation. But honestly, that's nitpicking. It's a small detail in an otherwise stellar experience. The staff really elevated our visit. When they found out we were first timers, they offered us a free beverage and one of the women physically walked us through the menu, explaining each option before we settled on our order. That kind of hospitality goes a long way. We also tried the PEPPERONI BumbleBEE STING. Soppressata-inspired spicy beef pepperoni with Calabrian sliced peppers and sesame. It's billed as a combination of sweet and spice umami flavors, and while it delivered on that front, I would have appreciated more pronounced honey sweetness and a spicier kick to really make it sing. All in all, 786 Degrees is a must-try. Any pizza fan in Los Angeles should have this spot on their radar. The creativity, quality, and welcoming atmosphere make it worth the visit.

Wow... my experience here was phenomenal! The different pizza options were diverse! There were a lot of pizzas I would've never thought of. When I first walked in I was greeted very kindly and once they heard it was my first time visiting, they gave me a run down on some of the more interesting pizzas from their menu. It was very hard to not go with one of several we talked about, but I ended up ordering the Istanbul pizza. My pizza was phenomenal, the Haideri sauce was delicious! Every bit of the pizza was a little bite of perfection, the crust, the sauce, the toppings all seemed to be placed with great intention. While I waited for my pizza to be made, and even after, I learned that the pizza wasn't the best part (and it was amazing)... it was the passion that Carlos (and 786) has for not only making a really good pizza and knowing their customers, but for striving to find new and original ways to bring worldwide tastes and experiences onto a pizza! Carlos and crew, keep doing what you're doing!

I really wanted to love this place after seeing so many positive reviews on Yelp, but honestly, there is better pizza out there. That said, there are some positives. The staff was fairly friendly, it was not overly busy when I visited, and the creative pizza combinations offer a fun twist on more traditional options. The ambiance was just okay. There is not much seating, and the space feels more like a working kitchen than a place designed to sit and enjoy a meal. It is fine for a quick stop, but not somewhere I would want to linger. My main issue comes down to the dough. For a spot that focuses solely on pizza, the dough really needs to shine, and unfortunately it did not. While it had a decent chew, the flavor was flat and slightly off, with an aftertaste that was not very pleasant. The charred spots were not crisped well either and tasted more burnt than intentionally charred, with the same soft texture as the rest of the crust. Out of the three pizzas we tried, the Habibi pizza was my favorite. The garlic yogurt sauce was genuinely delicious, but the lamb and beef fell short. The texture was mushy and the flavor did not come through as much as I was hoping. One other downside is the value. The pizzas were over twenty dollars and not very filling, which made the experience feel even more underwhelming given the other issues

This pizza place is really unique because they have pizzas inspired by different cultures and somehow they capture the essence of each one. It is a small spot but there are plenty of options to choose from. The prices are great, the customer service is friendly, and the pizza itself is honestly delicious. It might look like a little hole in the wall from the outside but it is definitely worth checking out. If you have never been here before you should try it at least once because it is such a fun and tasty experience.

Sooo many unique options! Even if you don't like pizza, you should check this place out because some of their options literally taste nothing like pizza & it's great. I personally don't like marinara sauce so I tried their Instanbul pizza & it was amazing & reminded me of humus & pita bread. My husband got the Marguerite pizza which is good if you like cheese & marinara sauce Would definitely come back & try some of their other options like the bulgogi, habibi & fungi lama Not too much space to dine in but they also have outdoor seating and the park is literally right across the street so you can easily set up a cute picnic Also service was amazing! Everyone working there was very friendly and helpful

This place is unique, they offer international themed pizzas. Great customer service. What's great about this place is there's lot of opportunities to have a savory and sweet pizza. We really enjoyed the Dubai. Tip: it's recommended to order ahead of time as the wait can be long Parking lot: yes

786 Degrees Pizzeria refers to the 786℉ temperature of the pizza oven made in Naples with lava rocks from Mt. Vesuvius which lies in the Campagna region. 786 prides itself in being part of the "Associazione di Pizzaiuoli Napoletani"/Association of Neopolitan Pizza Makers.  Very small interior with one table seating 4 & high top with 4 seats. Outdoor covered by an awning with plastic patio chairs, picnic table, stand up counter. Order online to pick up or order at a tablet-like order panel at the order counter.  Staff highly encourages customers to eat en site since cold pizza does not taste its best. All pizze here have a thin Neopolitan crust which is thick at the rim. Crust has a bit of a dry, leathery stretchiness. Touch sweet.  (Plural of pizza is pizze.) Ordered the Pizza Americana which has beef pepperoni slices, crumbly moist, fatty meaty ground mystery meat Chicago sausage, diced sweet, watery, roasted green bellpepper, diced red onion, brined, cured Kalamata olives.  Seems like a type of Pizza Bianca which means no tomato sauce. It has a stronger scent of oregano & thyme, but really couldn't discern the dry, flake parsley, tiny shred of basil, smoked salt as stated in the menu. The combined Mozzarella, Fontina, Parmesan cheeses left a feeling of sweet butter taste in my mouth, but there wasn't enough Mozzarella to make the lifted pizza slices leave a trail of "stringy" Mozzarella.  Overall, a good "dry" pizza since it isn't drowning in tomato sauce nor slathered with tons of cheese. Much thought went in to create a pizza that has balance & each ingredient complements each other. It doesn't go overboard by loading it up with possible clash of ingredients.  The paper lining under the pizza is also well thought out. It's corrugated cardboard that allows the bottom of the hot pizza to breath out moisture so the crust doesn't get soggy.  Would like to try the other various international flavours as suggested by friendly Chef Mari who came by to talk about... What else?  Pizza!   4- stars PS Thanks to a 786 Degrees aficionado for advising me on revising my review for better accuracy.

Another visit and it didn't disappoint. This time I had the Bulgogi Pizza. It was delicious! Every ingredient danced well in unison. Spectacular! Pizza came out fast, fresh, hot and savory. Great friendly service! I suggest eat it here than take it out. Lots of parking maybe because I came just when they opened

Maccheroni Republic - Life is full of pasta-bilities!…read more So if you know anything about me, you know that I love pasta more than just about anything. While I can only officially claim about 12% Italian heritage, I'm 100% down for Italian food, especially homemade pasta, any day of the week. I'm spending this week in Little Tokyo for a conference, and while Japanese food is also absolutely my jam, when Maccheroni Republic slid into my Yelp feed, I knew that I had to hoof it over there immediately after we broke for the day. I saw the front of the building, and my heart sank because it looked closed, but then I noted the sign that indicated that the entrance is on the right side of the building through the courtyard. Thank goodness! I strutted through the courtyard, and observed about 15 people waiting for tables. Unbothered, I went up to the host stand and chatted with the stylish maitre'd - Dino - who indicated that he could have a table for me in 7-10 minutes. I proceeded to wait and I watched how he deftly sat the other waiting parties in order without difficulty or notes. To the untrained eye, it might have looked a little chaotic, but Dino absolutely knew what he was doing. About 15 minutes later, Dino sat me at a corner deuce in the inside dining room where I had a nice view of everything. Angel efficiently took my order and did a very good job of overseeing my table as well as about nine others. The dining room is so cute and homey, and the patio is a welcome respite from the bustle and business of downtown. Since I was "da sola" or on my own, I just tried the shrimp cakes and I ordered the Rigatoni all Norma which is one of of my go to pasta dishes since I don't eat much meat. Incidentally, this dish is named after Norma, the famous 19th-century opera composed by Catanese native Vincenzo Bellini. According to legend, a famous Sicilian playwright, Nino Martoglio, tried the pasta and was so overwhelmed by its perfection that he exclaimed, "Chista è 'na vera Norma!" ("This is a true Norma!"), comparing the culinary masterpiece to the musical one. So says Wikipedia anyway. The shrimp cakes were delivered quickly by a sweet food runner who kindly checked on me periodically during my dinner. The four shrimp cakes were accompanied by sauteed onions which paired really nicely with the crispy cakes that were brightened with a spritz from the fresh lemon wedge. She also brought a basket with four slices of Italian bread which I enjoyed with the EVOO and Balsamic that were on the table. My Watermelon Ciao was also so good. It was sweetly tart and such a nice treat on a Monday! Not long after I polished off the shrimp cakes, the rigatoni was delivered and dusted with a generous layer of parmigiana. The little fresh mozzarella pearls glistened on the top of the pasta and slowly melted and oozed into the sauce as I stirred it up. Yum! The rigatoni were al dente and delicious, and they were perfectly sauced. Of course, the eggplant was perfectly cooked as well, I only wish there had been a few more pieces of it - although by the time I ate the last noodle, I was so full! Alas, I had no room for dessert, but I intend to bring some of my conference colleagues back for a meal before the end of the week because it was THAT GOOD. I also loved that this place is NOT pretentious at all. There were all sorts of folks enjoying their food here from medical professionals in scrubs to college kids in shorts and t-shirts, and I was also very casually attired, but I was treated well and welcomed with graciousness and delicious food! Mille grazie Maccheroni Republic, Dino, Angel and everyone at this wonderfully lowkey yet fabulous trattoria.

I was worried we'd be stuck waiting for an hour or more for a table but we were seated in less than ten minutes, despite the fact that it was a full house. The menu has an interesting assortment of traditional Italian pastas, Japanese classics, and Japanese-Italian fusion dishes. It's not a huge menu, but is just the right size to have a number of dishes I wish I could've tried all at once. I went with the bacon and mushrooms Japanese style sauce, which was a dashi and soy sauce base with bacon and mushrooms and a garnish of grated radish and nori. This was incredibly delicious, unique, and a true blend of Japanese and Italian flavors. The bacon was phenomenal and there was a generous amount on the plate. My brother got the arrabbiata. He asked them to not make it very spicy, but it still had a good kick (I definitely wouldn't have asked for it to be milder, but to each their own). The flavors were rich. And in both dishes, the pasta was cooked perfectly. Dinner comes with a complimentary salad and rolls. Our food came out fast, and our server was friendly. The owners were really nice, welcoming people. I loved the vibe of this place, with its dim lighting and quiet, laidback atmosphere. PASTA e PASTA is a gem and absolutely on my must-return-to list on my next trip to Little Tokyo.

It was not busy at all we got at right away and there was empty tables but our server could not remember a single request we asked for . We asked for Parmesan, the check along with Togo boxes on separate occasions (which I think are quite normal requests to ask for ) he forgot all of them and we had to ask his co-worker. At the end of the meal he apologized for forgetting the items and asked if we wanted a Togo bag for our meals which as you guessed he forgot again. I'm sorry but the restaurant was at like 20% capacity. Also they messed up on part of our order. All and all we will not be returning again Also the gratin we ordered was very hard to eat.

The hostess at the stand that night was all over the place and people were complaining asking where she went and no one knew, but we all noticed once a line began to build, she would disappear. I would recommend making a reservation just so you have a solid place in line and so you're at least ready to be seated. Angel our server was fun! We loved his energy, it wasn't over the top and it was very mellow, but also he was on top of everything and checked in with us and gave us great suggestions for drinks, appetizers, entrees. I will say, this place looks fancy and expensive and also a dream. The outdoor seating is like you're eating in a countryside in Europe and not in Downtown Los Angeles. We sat outside and our table featured a sofa as one of the seating options. We had the best girl dinner and were able to catch up over drinks and food and Candlelight and I didn't want to leave. I had the pizza, my sister had the filet mignon and one of us had the pasta . The calimari was good as the starter and they also had house bread which was so good. The Settecento pizza was my favorite and their pizzas are delicious, light, airy, full of flavor. My sister said her filet was ok but the mushroom sauce was delicious. For dessert, I believe we ordered the Tortino and the Tiramisu and both were great but the Tortino was a little better. I ordered the Toki Pona to drink and couldn't finish it but it was very good. Definitely recommend eating here to everyone. It's great food, ambiance and our server Angel took great care of us.

You can walk in, but the wait is sometimes too long for me. Donna's is huge. It is just comfortable, spotless and a lot of fun. They have a full bar and you can eat there at the bar if you don't want to wait. The place is just adorable and the service is great, with nice staff who are helpful. They are fast to get to you once seated. The food is so great. We have eaten there and have taken out. We love all their food and their red sauce is the best. Their STUFFED PEPPERS with marinated peppadew peppers, taleggio cheese and the best roasted garlic are a great starter. We also love OLIVE OIL CAKE for desert. It is in a limoncello soak, market berries, and homemade whipped sour cream. Their mains are the best. We love their TOMATO RISOTTO which has blistered sungold tomatoes, ricotta salata and yummy pregano. Everything is great.

I'd heard so much about the garlic bread, but I honestly thought it was just okay. We ordered the broccolini (which was very cheesy), the arugula salad (also very cheesy), the vodka pasta, chicken Parmesan, and the linguine with clams. The linguine was good, but I wish it had a little more seafood than just clams. I'd say the dishes I enjoyed the most were the chicken parmesan and the vodka pasta. The cocktails were actually really good, and I appreciated that they had spritz-style mocktails too. The restaurant itself is cute, cozy, and has a nice atmosphere. Overall, I'm glad I tried it, but I can't say it was necessarily worth the hype.

The Caesar salad was really good, and the branzino was honestly one of the best I've ever had - great presentation too. The kitchen staff in the back were some latino dudes but tbey clearly know what they're doing because the food tasted very authentic and well executed. I'm giving 3 stars for service because we waited way too long for our bottle of wine. When it finally came out, it wasn't the bottle I ordered, and our waitress Lauren insisted it was the same thing, which felt insulting because it was obviously not the same vintage - it was off by two years. At that point, I just wanted some wine already, so l let it go. That said, the ambiance was great, and the food alone makes this place worth visiting.

Sitting outside in their back patio was enjoyable, while the indoor dining area is cozy and aesthetically pleasing. Everything looks appealing and well-presented, but unfortunately, much of the food lacked flavor. I ordered the Pappardelle Genovese pasta, and although it looked delicious and had plenty of meat, it was surprisingly bland. I even added sea salt to try to enhance the flavor, but it was still only average. The pizza wasn't bad, but it's not something I would order again. The drinks were fine and looked cute, but nothing particularly memorable. My favorite item was the beet salad. It was delicious and well balanced, with mixed greens, goat cheese, hazelnuts, and a balsamic vinaigrette. That was definitely the standout dish of the meal. Overall, the ambiance, decor, and presentation were better than the food itself. While it's a nice place to visit and enjoy the atmosphere, I probably wouldn't return for the food.

I know this place used to be pretty busy and booked but think the hype might've died down? But I love it cause I was able to enjoy dinner with my friends comfortably. We ordered the arugula salad, squash blossoms, bread, prawns in the salsa verde sauce, oxtail meatballs, the oxtail ragu pasta and carbonara pasta. The salad was delicious and the perfect start to the carb overload coming. It was the perfect amount of lemon that it wasn't overpowering. The squash blossoms were delicious! Definitely one of our top three dishes. The bread was airy and simple, but it was delicious. The prawns and the sauce. *Chef's kiss* The meatballs were delicious and definitely something unique and different. Definitely enjoyed that. The oxtail ragu pasta was delicious. The carbonara pasta was a little undercooked and the flavor wasn't there. It just tasted like butter and pasta.. that was probably our least favorite dish. Everything was good and would be back again to try maybe some other pastas or even the pizzas.
