On 9/2 I placed 3 large orders (on-line) to be delivered by 11:45am my 1st order was placed at 10am, 5 large pizzas, 2nd at 10:30am for 6 large pizzas & 3rd at 10:40am for 4 large pizzas. I called the 888 number on thie website at 11:20 or so make sure the orders were received and would be delivered by 11:45am. The lady answered the phone "slice", I confirmed I was calling Braazos she said yes and confirmed all 3 of my orders and their delivery times. 11:45, my 2nd order is delivered, but where is my 1st and 3rd order? 12 noon, I call the restaurant, no answer and the line drops, so call the 888# again, a man answers confirms my orders and says he will call the restaurant. He says their system was down but I'll have my remaining 2 orders in 3-5 min. 12:20, the delivery guy delivers the 3rd order, and only 3 of 5 pizzas from my 1st order. How is that??? Why is my first order not delivered first and why is it not the FULL order? So I call the 888# number AGAIN, and ask for the # to the restaurant as the one I called there was no answer. I also asked the delivery guy to call the restaurant itself. They answer and tell him that it's right. I show him my email order confirmation and he lets them know I'm still missing 2 pizzas. The man who I spoke with before at the 888# is still on the phone. He says it's the delivery guys fault as he got the order wrong. No...he's not the one making and filling the order, he's only delivering them. The delivery guys tells me he has to now go back because they are making my last 2 pizzas. It's 12;34pm at this point. So much for my pizza party at 12! My last 2 pizzas don't arrive until 12:50pm, too hot to eat, with the toppings sliding off of the dough! At this point, I'm annoyed and disgusted with the service. I thank the delivery guy and tell him to let the restaurant know how dissatisfied I am! Thank you Braazos for a HORRIBLE and uterly DISSATISFYING 1st time experience! I ordered takeout-the place is small and quaint would make a very fun first date situation or fun Friday night hang with friends to deload about the week. As a non-football fan, stuck at a Superbowl party in Japantown, I was more than glad to volunteer to go pick up the pizza. The party already had buffalo wings, fries, spinach & artichoke dip and chips but the attendees had a ravenous appetite, fueled by one of the most boring Superbowls I've ever seen and despite my best efforts, I have been to many parties just like this one, watching 'The Game.' (Give me a good Lakers or Dodgers game over the Superbowl any day, am I right Angelenos?) It being a nice day, I decided to take the 0.8 mile walk to pick up the pizzas for everybody, giving me a chance to take in the city that birthed me while also getting some fresh air. Unfortunately for me Prime Pizza down the street was so behind on their orders, they stopped taking new ones, resulting in me walking to Braazo Pizza a little further down the street. My walk was filled with what the real Los Angeles looks like today, with all it's beauty and it's flaws. Along my walk I was encountered by the homeless, too many to count, doing various things from arguing, crossing the street illegally, panhandling, sleeping and doing their choice of drugs out in the open without a care in the world, well perhaps some cares. At the end of this non-filtered walk through LA I arrived at Braazo's Pizza, a cozy restaurant with humongous New York style pizzas. After gulping down a beer and picking up our order, I did my best to walk back, holding three pizzas and avoiding eye contact with the hungry residents of Main Street. Let me tell you my friends, the walk back was half the time of the walk there. Once back in the condo, I was greeted like a hero for bringing the giant Hawaiian, Sicilian and Mama Mia pizzas. I didn't even get to tell the rest of the party about my journey down West Coast Gotham City, in fact I almost lost a hand as a group of people bum rushed me, grabbing the pizzas with the stealth and brutality of a starving cheetah. Now, some readers may ask, was the trip worth it? It was an experience I wouldn't take back and although their pizzas were tasty, there are better New York style pizzas to be found in the Japantown/Downtown area.
