I went in store recently to pick up and their crust is still one of the best with its chewiness. The salami honey remains my favorite. I wasn't too fond of the confusing flavor profile of the pork belly. Loved the mushroom one too! read more

The pizza here is fantastic! Walk up to the counter and order, and it is ready within minutes. Service was super friendly, they have a bit of outside seating and easy metered parking prices are fair, considering the quality of their ingredients, and how well they make it. Highly recommended if you're looking for a tasty pizza in the area! read more

My reference pizza is the Margherita--IMHO the ultimate pizza. I always judge a place by the quality of the Marg. This place passes the Margherita test with flying colors! If you're in the area--walk up to the window and order a pie. I don't think there's any indoor seating--it's purely a take out or outside counter dining affair. Certainly in the upper rankings of Los Angeles Neapolitan pizza power rankings. read more

Decided to make the drive out to satisfy our cravings for their salami honey pizza. They had been closed for a while during the pandemic and we didn't want to go to Rossoblu just to get their pizza. After ordering our usual whole pizza and checking in on yelp, we noticed some recent reviews mentioning a change to their pizza size and style. We peered in and noticed that their pizzas (now 12") do in fact look smaller, more the size of what one person could eat. We quickly put in another order seeing as we would now need more food for two people. Our orders took about 15-20m and we decided to eat our pizzas there while the pizzas were still hot. The pizzas did in fact look smaller, kind of Neapolitan style. The crust was thicker and the slices tasted doughier, completely different from how they used to make it. The pizza could have been in the oven for a bit longer. As for taste, doughiness aside it tasted similar but it was less crispy, less oily (not necessarily a good thing) and had way less honey. In the past we needed to bring wet wipes to clean off the oil and honey because it'd be dripping down as we eat it. Overall we were a bit disappointed in the changes we observed. Not only was the pizza size significantly smaller, the style of pizza was completely different from how it used to be. Maybe it's because they now offer their pizzas at Rossoblu so some accommodations were necessary. I'm hopeful one day they may change back or find a way to recreate the pizza style they once had. Until then we'll have to find a new go-to pizza place. read more

Superfine is doing a collaboration for RE:HER, a charitable organization for female-owned restaurants in Los Angeles that's currently running an all-new woman-fueled food festival till the 30th this month, and man oh man is this collaboration delicious! I was a bit worried when I read that it was a take home and bake pizza but they par-bake the crust so it's not too bad! There were 4 pizzas to purchase and I was contemplating all 4 but it's just me and my mom now and I'm trying to be better about over ordering =T The choices were Thai, Mexican, Spanish, or Japanese. I chose Spanish and Japanese and I'm so glad I did, they were sooooo good! -Japanese (n/naka): This consisted of shrimp, calamari, mentaiko bechamel, tomatoes, shiso, nori, kaiware drizzled with kewpie mayo. With the creamy sauces, I felt that this would be better as a pasta dish. It was very wet coming out of the oven and a bit hard to eat but was great when the whole slice cooled down. -Spanish (Gasolina Cafe): This consisted of grated Manchego, chorizo Soria, fancy mushrooms, and caramelized balsamic red onion. This was my favorite of the night! I love mushrooms though and this paired very well with the rose I had on hand. I got a bit lazy and didn't fry the egg for the pizza but it wasn't missed. Pickup was a breeze! You can text the number and they'll come running out with your order to put in your trunk! Yay! I love contactless pickup =) With how well the 2 pizzas turned out, I'm considering ordering the other 2 pizzas in their collaboration =d read more

If the pizza was super fine, the big bean n little gem salad was super DUPER fine. I would come back just for that bean salad, it is that good. I was already way too full, but I couldn't stop eating it. One of my favorite salads in LA, fo sho. The pizza was fine, the dough was delicious, but as good as it was, the proportions of crust to toppings was too far in the crust's favor, and the middle crust was a little too too thin. With this being said, there were no leftovers. None. Especially that bean n little gem salad mmmmm. read more

Having read some glowing reviews, I thought I'd give these guys a shot. I'm a sucker for a solid margherita pie & theirs looked great! Ordered & about an hour later, I received one of the saddest, driest looking pizzas I've ever seen. Most glaring was the complete lack of fresh mozzarella. I double checked my order & saw that I had ordered the right pizza, but it was now marked as unavailable. They had run out of mozzerella & they knew well enough to adjust the menu, but rather than communicate, they sent me this dry p.o.s. pie, *knowing* that it wasn't what I was looking forward to. I called in immediately & the guy just pretended he couldn't find any record of my order & had no idea what I was talking about. Thanks, guy. While the customer experience was awful, the pizza was worse. Truly gross. I really want to give these guys the benefit of the doubt; after all, the employee who sent this pizza obviously doesn't care about customer satisfaction, so there's no reason to expect them to care about the quality of the food, either. Based on the reviews, I have to assume that my experience is unusual; I just don't know that I care enough to give them another chance considering how bad this was & how many other options exists around here. read more

1) I DON'T EVEN LIKE PIZZA 2) IT WAS SOGGY 3) IT WAS COLD and it's STILL 5 stars. My order was the SAUSAGE & BROCCOLI RABE. I've never understood the pizza hype. I figured if I had pizza in Italy, then maybe my opinion would change, but until then, you could keep the tomato paste on bread. After Superfine Pizza, I realize that everyone else is just using the name pizza without making real pizza. THIS IS PIZZA?! Then my whole life, I've never had pizza until today. Wowww... The sun-dried tomato flavor was robust, full, and concentrated. THE CAPERS?! How I adore capers. The broccoli probably works better when it's warm, but even cold and soggy, this was elite. The sausage was so good I danced in my chair. Everything came together so well, I ate the entire pie in one sitting. Created by Steve Samson, of Rossoblu fame, Superfine Pizza is a Slice window dedicated to doing things right, and rooted in old-world traditions plus high-quality Ingredients the former Soto Chef is making superior New York-style Pies at a fair price compared to most of Los Angeles' overpriced eateries. Established in 2018, and owned by Chef Samson alongside his wife Dina, it is at the corner of 11th and San Pedro Streets that guests will find Superfine, a tucked away location nonetheless easily identified by brightly painted storefront and emoji-based signage. Offering Slices, plus a larger variety of 18" rounds, it is from a sliding window that diners are invited to make their choices, a lack of interior space and limited outdoor seating creating for low overhead and costs hardly more than those of a Shopping Mall Food court. Small and focused, triangles re-heated to-order but somehow retaining a Neapolitan feel thanks to buoyancy indicative of slow-fermented Dough, Superfine Pizza is open from 11:00am until 9:00pm on weekdays and 5:00-9:00 weekends, just 5 minutes separating walk-ups from a piping-hot Slice at most times. Found in LA's Fashion District, the former Produce market dubbed City Market South historically relevant to Pies reliant on Southern California's bounty, it is beneath a good amount of Cheese and cupped Pepperoni that guests find vibrant Sauce, a crisp break yielding pliable crumb that also tastes great with no Sauce in support of Spinach and four Cheeses or Calabrian Sausage kissed by local Honey. read more

What can I say about this fine establishment. They don't cut any corners or take short cuts. Their dough is prepped 3 days before it's ready for the toppings and the oven. It's baked fresh every single day so there's no pizza that's in the lamp or reheated. The toppings are fresh and ingredients are also house made. The pepperoni pizza is definitely fire and my favorite but the honey salami and Queen margherita is superb as well. This is one of the best pizzerias in Los Angeles. read more

Best pizza in La. ALTHOUGH! This eatablishment makes it so hard to order a pizza. 1. They dont accept cash. 2. You cant walk up and place a order at the counter. You have to use a app. 3. The pizzas are good here but it sucks because their menu always changes and now their pizzas are half the size compared to before. They used to have this white sausage pizza which was really good but they no longer make them. Ordered frm them the other night and found out their pizzas are now only in 12in. I guess they are trying to go for more smaller gourmet pizzas but it would be nice if they offered bigger sizes. read more

A spot with no indoor seating, no restrooms, credit card only and which plays radio with Bruno Mars would have to be pretty good to overlook things like this, right? When I received my two slices, one cheese and one Spinach on White and took a bite, I realized immediately this is that spot. You can tell immediately the quality that goes into the pizza. 4 stars only because on all the pizza available only 2 are very good. The service is good. They should open later.

If you're a pizza lover, you will fall in love with SUPERFINE pizza! Everything about the pizza was simply savory! When you bite into the pizza, you can taste how fresh the ingredients are. The crust was light, fluffy, and perfectly crispy. They offer pizza slices but I decided to order a whole pie (took 15 min to prepare) and was able to split half salami honey and half es-ca-role. Both flavors were delicious but, my all time favorite is the salami honey. However, my opinion may be biased because I absolutely love honey and salami which makes it the perfect combo! Also, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the es-ca-role since I'm not a big fan of veggie pizzas. Parking: Came on a Saturday so, there was free parking on the streets. Store: This pizza store is not a restaurant and only has a take-out window. If you would like to eat there, they do offer some outdoor seating chairs. read more

This is one of the best pizza place in Los Angeles. Huge fan of their crust and the ingredients that is being used for any of their pies. Not too many places I know used top notch ingredients like their homemade sausage that is made from scratch or spicy salami to various upscale cheese they employed. This unique take out window with a nice open space of a courtyard reminds me of what they should have done as a take out for their Rossoblu (huge fan of this place) on all of their pizza orders. Walking distance from Rossoblu too. Think of this way, instead of dining in at the restaurant, this little take out window churned the same quality pizza you could have gotten and take it home with you to watch Netflix with the cheesy wine you can BYOB without the corkage. Honestly, this was a win for me when I found out they opened such a thing and might think of opening a few more take out window down the road for pizzas. Few things to keep in mind. First, it's strictly a take out window. They are keep it simple with pizza portions of the menu with rotating ingredients I have noticed. You can either ordered a whole pie (18" circle) or per slice from their popular pizza selections. Oh, bring your credit or debit card. They are going cashless. Since that area is being catered to late night crowd from the local bars and late night scene, they are bound to get guys and gals who are making a pit stop to soak up the suds. You bet they are not going to carry cash at that establishment. Personally, I think their dough is the best thing about their pizza and I do love the cheese they used. So I ordered the Spicy Salami because of their exquisite ingredients of Spicy Salami, Provolone, Grana Padano. This was a perfect touch to my bougie Netflix viewing. If someone can tell me how the guys from Rossoblu can do a takeout window for their meatballs or pasta, I'll be popping right over for that too. read more

This would be really really good pizza for a late night out, I'm sure of it. I came here on a random weekday night and there was nobody around. No line, no wait. The menu is broken up into 2 parts: slices or whole pies. It was just 2 of us, so we got slices; tried 3 different vegetarian flavors (cheese, spinach/feta, and the escarole. The man serving us was very nice, and he turned on one of the heaters in their seating area (across the cement lot from the counter where you order). The wait wasn't very long. My one issue with the pizza was that it was SO oily. A little too much for me. Otherwise, the pizza was great, the crust was great, and we enjoyed our meals. read more

Ugh. This is a legitimately painful review for me to write. I love Sotto, and I absolutely am over the moon for the trend that is spicy but sweet pizza that I first experienced at Roberta's in NYC. With those two things in mind, I absolutely could not wait for Steve Samson's addition to the rapidly expanding DTLA pizza scene. In short, I was disappointed. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? Superfine can be a bit tricky to track down given their lunch only hours and the fact that sporadically they will go dark on Postmates. I'd been to their storefront several times during closed hours, and it fits right in in a cool part of town. As others have mentioned (notably Infatuation's ride-along review), the pies you can get by the slice are different from what you can get as a whole pie, which I'd love to hear the logic behind. Even so I finally tracked Superfine down via UberEats and had a Spicy Honey pizza to my apartment down the street in about twenty minutes, which was impressive. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? This was a large pizza, but given how thin it was the $26.00 price point was a bit steep. Enough to have me docking stars on account of value? No, but this is more expensive than what you'll get at Sixth+Mill, Baldoria (even two pizzas at Baldoria are cheaper than that), or Prufrock. One point of observation is that these prices are in line with Lupetti, so maybe this is the forthcoming price point for upscale pizza. Fine I suppose. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Plain and simple, I just didn't love this pizza. At all. The crust was fine - chewy and with pretty good flavor, but the rest of the pizza was weak. It was exceptionally thin as I mentioned, and there wasn't enough cheese and the pepperoni was too thin to really leave you with any sort of impactful flavor. I could taste the honey on occasional bites, but it also wasn't at all spicy, which was a surprise. With my point of reference being the Bee Sting at Roberta's, this was a weak offering. No Stars. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? Pizzana in Brentwood remains my favorite pizza in Los Angeles followed closely by Steve's own Sotto, and I hope that my experience with Superfine was just an anomaly. No Star. read more

Well fck me up. Drunkenly stumbled here after seeing it on a friend's IG story, and am so glad I did. Pizzas are by the slice, though I did see some folks pick up full pies. I had the Veganissima--didn't even notice it didn't have cheese. Was full of flavor! Honestly didn't even miss the meat. My second slice was one with salami and drizzle of honey (Spicy Honey). Reminded me of Roberta's Bee Sting in NYC. Crust was perfectly thin and delicious. I gobbled everything up. Heads up, it's a window with outdoor seating. YUM. A friend and I were in the area with some time to spare, so we made a much anticipated visit to Superfine. We've been dying to try it, and I am so happy to not be disappointed by those high expectations! We came during lunch, so there was a small line of about 3-4 parties ahead of us. Perfect time for us to decide on what we wanted. Since we were just here for a between meals snack, we each decided on getting one slice each - one slice of the spinach on white, one slice of the es-ca-role with an add of housemade sausage. We requested them to be cut in half, which they accommodated. After ordering, we found an open table (it seems there are only 3 proper tables and bar-like seating of about 5 seats). About 5 minutes later, the server ran over to our table and brought us our pizzas. (I believe that if you're getting a fresh slice/pie, the wait is about 10-15 minutes). Can I tell you, these slices were heavenly! The crust was perfect - fluffy on the inside, perfectly crisp on the outside. The cheeses they used on the white pizza were such a delicious combo - I didn't even mind the fact that it had no meat on it! (Definitely a "must-have meat on a slice" kind of gal). Even better than that slice was the es-ca-role with the housemade sausage. I can't wait to get some more of that in my belly. I was a little bummed that I wasn't able to order just a slice of Spicy Honey, but I will 100% be back to try that and actually anything else on their menu! read more

I came across Superfine while searching through Postmates for dinner. What interested me is that they had a DineLA deal available for delivery! The deal wasn't bad at all and came with 1 Whole Pizza, Mixed Salad and 2 Beverages for $29! My friend and I decided to order the ES-CA-ROLE pizza. When the pizza and other items were delivered, we found the pizza was HUGE and huge bigger than we thought. For $29 it was a lot of food; enough to feed about 4+ people. We found the ES-CA-ROLE pizza to be a bit cold upon arrival and a little too salty for our liking (although we expected it to be salty due to the olives). Also, the pieces are quite large and thin and easily fell apart as we ate our slices. The Mixed Salad was really good; I loved the huge pieces of lettuce as well as the provolone and salami. Not bad for delivery, I think the pizza would have been better to eat fresh out of the oven. read more

Did the take-out collab pizzas with Casa Verde and n/naka. Both were delicious, although not quite in ways I expected. Seafood pizza definitely isn't my normal thing, so the n/naka one was... sneaky. Prep not bad, first few bites okay, decent, good, solid... next thing I know I've eaten almost the whole thing. :-o Something about the kewpie mayo and the shrimp complimented each other very nicely. I did have to sop up the accumulated moisture in the center of the pizza while baking, tho-- didn't want it to get soggy. And adding greenies and seaweed after baking definitely elevated the appearance! Casa Verde's was just as straightforward to prepare and even easier to cook. Green onion and carne asada paired with green chilies gave a more traditional appearance, and it too was tasty. Neither blew me away, or even amazed me, but both were solid-- Casa Verde was a straight up enjoyable experience. Atop all that, pricing is quite good. Will definitely have to come back! read more

Good pizza not great. Great pizza involves both quality, and price. A large here will cost $23-25 a pop which is steep. I think when a large pizza costs this amount of money, you expect it to be great. The parking here is not always easy either. If something is great, you are willing to 1. Wait 2. Deal with parking 3. Pay the price. I would recommend: Tomato Pie Joint, Village Pizzeria and Mulberry Street over this pie. To me, it seems that want to make a killing on a good, not great pie. read more

Solid Pizza!! 4.5 stars for the pizza and he bonus for the staff and their environment and ambiance. Our Order: 4 slices (2 simply cheese, 1 spinach on white, and 1 veganissima), Diet Coke, and sprite. Environment: walk-up window in the DTLA industrial/Santee Alley district. They have five high-top chairs alongside their order window and there are a couple tables and chairs nearby with umbrellas for shade. No one around at 1pm on Friday so it's fairly safe to say you won't have to wait long for some good food! Verdict: absolute must try! The cheese was phenomenal - high quality dough and cheese. Every bite was perfect, the cheese stayed on the slice and the dough was flavorful and perfectly toasted in the oven! It was so good that we originally ordered three slices and I walked back up to order another slice of cheese!! Tips: parking can be tricky. We sent nearly as long arguing with the parking security about where to park than we did eating. Luckily the superfine pizza employees stepped in and let us park in a nearby spot! Next Time: whole pie of simply cheese. Reminds me of New York! read more

I dig this spot. NY style pizza with a nice tasting crust. I tried the basic pepperoni and a honey salami. The latter one surprised me. It has pieces of salami and honey on the pizza. Typically, I keep sweet things to desserts but this was a welcomed sweetness (not too sweet BTW). The hints of honey paired well with the meat and cheese. I'd order that again. There were about 5 or 6 chairs outside and a counter top to eat. The had a sign that said credit cards only (no cash).
