I found this hidden gem tucked away in a Vons parking lot! I'm not gonna lie the location had me skeptical but as soon as we stepped inside we knew we found the perfect date night spot. The ambiance was so fun and had a cute romantic vibe. The inside is a bit small but it adds to the cute romantic atmosphere. The staff was INCREDIBLE. RUINED MY BRTHDAY. I called to know how to make a reservation, followed their instructions to do it online. I followed the website's process and after completing it I received an email. I arrived to Ma's Italian Kitchen the day of my birthday to be embarrassed in front of my guests. Because the link they have available for reservations on their website doesn't work!! The manager couldn't answer me how am I supposed to know that the link doesn't work, he didn't offer any solutions, any discount, anything at all. I wanted to cry out of embarrassment. One of my friends found a much bigger and better Italian restaurant who took us 12 people right away. Hey Ma's Italian Kitchen if a piece of your website doesn't work, it shouldn't be there at all, embarrassing the customer is not at all a solution for the problem. If you are thinking about coming to Ma's Italian Kitchen, simply DON'T. There's better places in Burbank. Manager, I don't have the time or the interest to know which software you use for reservations. We came back here for the fifth time, and it somehow keeps getting better every visit. The first four times we came were during COVID when they were doing al fresco dining, and even then the experience was amazing so we already knew the food was something special. This time dining in again just confirmed it. Every single item we ordered was absolutely delicious perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. You can tell there's real consistency in the kitchen, which is rare and so appreciated. They start you off with warm garlic knots, which are honestly addictive and set the tone right away. This is a great spot in Burbank for any occasion. Appetizers Bruschetta (5/5) - The tomatoes and microgreens were extremely fresh and marinated well, I definitely recommend getting 8 instead of 4 since they were so good. Calamari (3/5) - Probably the only mid part of this whole meal, it was just.. ok... Mains Chicken Milanese (5/5) - The chicken was cooked perfectly, slightly crispy outside but extremely tender and juicy inside. The arugula and lemon vinaigrette also added a nice bright flavor. Meat Lasagna (5/5) - My dad always orders a lasagna when we eat Italian, and he said this is one of the best he's ever had! Ravioli Rosa (5/5) - Cheese ravioli with a pink sauce that is so good you eat the extra with bread. Definitely recommend! I really wanted to love this place. The reviews are amazing and we were finally able to go for lunch since dinner can be harder to get a reservation. We went pretty early so it was empty and the waiter was very nice. He explained the menu and was really helpful. The appetizer was fine (caprese) but unfortunately the main courses were not what we were hoping for. I ordered the cacio e Pepe with shrimp. The shrimp was crispy but to get that level of sear they had massively overcooked it. It was tough/ rubbery and really hard to eat. The sauce for the pasta was also pretty watery and flavorless. I never do this as I don't want to make people feel bad but I did end up sending it back. They brought out a margarita pizza instead which was also a bit weird. The middle was very soggy and there were large globs of cheese on top of another cheese layer which made the dish overwhelming. My husband had the bolognese. The sauce itself wasn't bad but the pasta was overcooked. I felt really bad as the people working there were all so nice but unfortunately we just didn't like the food. read more

The only thing that I thought was a bit weird was that the ravioli were fried on one side before that they were before they were thrown in the sauce. We got the medium cut steak special, which came with asparagus and mashed potatoes. It was well cooked and tender. Highlight of the meal was the white pizza. If you get anything above a very small, make sure you share it with the table. We also got the vodka pasta. It's a pretty big portion well seasoned and quite delicious. For dessert, we had a tiramisu Panna cotta and pistachio cake. The Panna cotta was definitely the best and the pistachio cake was dry. Overall, pretty good experience for my birthday. No butter, no olive oil--completely unnecessary. These disappear before you even realize it. The pastas carry the meal. The spaghetti comes with three impressively large meatballs--pork and veal, tender to the point of almost falling apart, with Parmesan worked in so each bite has that rich, savory depth. Comforting in the best way. The rigatoni holds its own too, with sauce that actually clings instead of pooling. The only dip: the chicken piccata and veal marsala. The piccata could've used a brighter lemon lift, and the marsala felt a bit shy--the wine didn't quite step forward the way you hope. Perfectly fine, just overshadowed by stronger dishes. Food came out at a reasonable pace, but service overall felt a bit rushed. Ben did a great job introducing the dishes, though plates were cleared quickly with frequent check-ins--just enough to make you feel like you needed to speed things up. We ordered a large house salad to share- good for about 3-4 people. We also ordered the Chicken Piccata and Chicken Marsala, both $28 each. The chicken was JUICY and both saucy sauces were finger licking good. The piccata was lemony and the Marsala had good umami flavor with the mushrooms. It's comes with a side of olive oil/garlic pasta and it's the perfect amount of food. Best of both worlds. After visiting, I can see why. It likely would have been a five star review but unfortunately with nothing an advanced reservation we could only be seated in the patio. Which is covered with heaters. However, it was not the best idea for me to sit on an outside patio for a first visit. Inside looks very nice and comfortable so hopefully next time I'll have an opportunity to eat inside. Now the food. We were provided some good garlic knots. They were fresh and flavorful and easily could ruin your meal if you ate too many. I had a mixed green salad that was well dressed with a nice cheesy blue cheese dressing. It was the small stater salad but it was huge. For my entree I went with the rigatoni bolognese. It was a hearty dish with melted cheese and I really enjoyed it. Other got the chicken parm which came with two nicely sized cutlets. Also we ordered a vegan pasta dish that was devoured. Did not have high expectations and ended up finding my dream pizza to exist here. I've ALWAYS been a big hot/sweet combo girly, and when I found out they had a hot honey situation thing going on, I didn't think twice about putting in an order. I don't eat pepperoni so I took the meat out, but the pizza made me feel like I was floating in another ether. Date of visit: September 5, 2025 Selections: - Garlic Bread - Mushroom Ravioli - Butterscotch Budino (Free) Experience: Decided to go here after providing my friend with two options to pick from that I had selected from a list my husband gave me of Italian Restaurants near Glendale. My friend ended up realizing he had been to this restaurant during COVID as we got closer to the location. Definitely glad I put in a reservation online because the restaurant did get packed as the night went on. We were seated right away after telling them my name for the reservation and I wish I got our main server's name because he was very sweet and friendly (which is overwhelming for me as an introvert, but my husband loved it rofl) as we settled in and placed our order. Even the other servers that passed our table were kind and made sure we were doing okay after we put in our order and were waiting for a bit. I liked how kid friendly the restaurant was because I noticed the table next to us had a bucket of crayons for a little girl to use to draw on the table cover. The inside of the restaurant did give a bit of a romantic feel considering how dark it was in there and I definitely was having a battle with the lamp that was set up at the table since it's brightness and off switch is actually based on touching the top of the lamp and I kept getting too close to it lolz We were served their Garlic Bread first and it was so good even with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar that we dipped it in after my friend asked for a side of the sauces. Our entrees did take a bit to get to us, but you can tell why it took awhile once we started eating our main food. I did let them add cheese on the top before digging into my Mushroom Ravioli and it was actually really good. I liked how creamy the sauce was and the different flavors mixed in. I didn't end up finishing it since it was a lot between the bread and a bowl full of ravioli. So before we could pay for the check, since we had mentioned that three of the four of us were here for the first time, the owner brought out a free Butterscotch Burdino that he makes in-house for us to try. I liked how creamy it was and it wasn't too sweet, but we couldn't finish it since we were pretty full and actually craving ice cream. The owner did check on us to see how we liked the dessert and I slightly felt bad that we hadn't licked the bowl clean for him, but I think he didn't take offense. My husband stepped in to chat with him about the restaurant and to compliment him on the desert. As I was leaving, our main server asked if I needed a bag for our to-go boxes and I said yes. It took him a bit to get back to me with the bag since he kept getting held up as I stood by the entrance/exit of the restaurant that my husband came in to check on me since he, my friend, and mom had exited the restaurant already. But the owner spotted me waiting and realized I was waiting for a bag that he asked if we would like some fresh Garlic Bread to-go since we had been waiting. So I left my husband there and went to check on my friend and mom. We had a smaller version of the menu to order from, with pre-chosen antipasti, then a choice for salad and entree as well as desert. I really enjoyed the Burrata Caprese with flavorful tomatoes and it was not over dressed. We also had calamari which to me lacked seasoning in the breading and was cooked to too much of a golden color. Our antipasti came out in minutes, then it was about 45 minutes before our order was taken and another long wait to get to the second course. The whole meal was almost 4 hours long on a Sunday night. I was sitting in a booth on the banquette side and it was very warm with the restaurant full. Service was friendly but the pacing was off. I understand we were a large group and hopefully this is not the typical experience. I chose the Pecorino Arugula salad and it was my favorite item of the night. It had a good amount of shaved cheese and the lemon vinagrette was delicious. It was also perfetly dressed. For entree I tried the Rigatoni Bolognese which appears to be their signature dish. The pasta was cooked well but the sauce was thin and felt watery on top of the pasta. The amount of meat was small. It did not taste like a 6 hour sauce to me - more like something I could pull together at home myself. Many on my table ordered the filet mignon and the cut of the steak did not look like filet. It was pyramid shaped and from what I heard, quite tough. For dessert, which took another half hour to come out, I tried the Butterscotch Budino and our host brought tiramisu for the group. The budino was flavored well but not as creamy and rich as I've had in the past at other locations. Overall, for the price I did not enjoy the food. Display is very tucked away into the corner of the plaza however, you can smell the deliciousness of the pasta from afar when walking towards the restaurant. There is a line already upon arrival and it was about an hour line when we came during rush-hour. However, the bar is open for a first come first served so the three of us sat on the bar with no problem. The waiter was super nice and there was daily specials that was not on the menu that they would offer in addition to the ones on the menu. Their dessert is also delicious. Never heard of MA's until I got home last night and was checking DoorDash to see what I wanted to bring in. MA's shows up in my feed and I'll try anywhere that has penne with vodka sauce. I ordered that with some meatballs included, and the garlic bread. I've had penne with vodka sauce more times that I can count - only once or twice has it not been up to snuff. Well, happy to report it's excellent here, perfectly prepared pasta, sauce was also perfect, the meatballs were the right addition (might try the sausage next time) and the garlic bread was also excellent. I booked a reservation here for 8:15 pm to celebrate a birthday. We got seated a little before 8:45 pm, however, because the group at our reserved table took longer than expected. I realized that the restaurant was small and loud when I stepped in, and most of the tables were for only two people. It was also my first time booking on Resy, and I noticed that there was a $25 cancellation or no-show fee per person. That made me want to get to the restaurant early just to be careful. The app let me type in what occasion the reservation was for. We got the fried calamari ($16), eggplant parmigiana ($22), rigatoni bolognese ($28), and frutti di mare ($32). With very flavorful dishes, the food quality here was great. I enjoyed the rigatoni bolognese. The sauce had a little creamy texture and tasted very flavorful. I'd recommend that dish if visiting. Also, note that the frutti di mare is a spicy dish as the sauce is cooked with red peppers. I thought that each bite I tried had some kick to it. We got a free dessert as well. The butterscotch budino was like a rich and sweet custard or pudding. Our server, Seth, was friendly and helpful. We noticed that one of the water glasses had a stained rim, and he brought us a replacement. Also, he helped hold the lamp while I took the picture attached to this review. Tipping (based on the bill's grand total by default) is on a portable point of sale device the server hands you. Our First time and last. Extremely disappointed. Sorry for the long review I just couldn't get this experience out of my mind and would not otherwise post it. Celebrated my birthday dinner with a group of 5. Never have I experienced ever being rushed out of a restaurant in such a direct and extremely rude way. So unwelcoming. When we arrived timely for our reservation we witnessed the host being really rude to a food delivery person and that should have been a red flag. As we were beginning to enjoy our dessert we were told by a host or whatever he was to pretty much wrap it up as there was a party of 9 waiting. A couple minutes later our waiter also reminded us, and then for the 3rd time as we were trying to hurry and pay, the host again said that they have a party of 9. Like really! He might as well just forcibly grab our purses and belongings and throw us out. They even told the table next to us the same thing and I can see that poor family also hurrying. They were literally kicking that section out at whatever cost to squeeze in the next party. The bad part was that this happened close to only being there 1.5hrs from our seating and in no way exceeding 2hrs which is a typical dining time for big groups. Such an unpleasant and embarrassing experience celebrating my special day this way. Felt like a low punch to be treated in this manner. Try rushing someone in Italy while they are eating! I was in total disbelief and kept thinking about this experience, feeling guilty for choosing to go to this restaurant for my birthday. I understand quick turnover is key but not at the cost of treating patrons this way because no matter how good your food is the poor service and experience can ruin it. I think if the restaurant made it known in the beginning about their strict time limit especially being a small establishment on busy days, it would've turned out better with a mutual understanding instead of being caught by surprise at the end and being pushed out rudely. 2 stars for the Food and Wine which were really good. Sad because we were happy and having a great time only for it to be ruined leaving us with a sour taste. I had an amazing dinner at Ma's last night. A friend and I were celebrating my birthday and 20 years of friendship. Our waiter, Renee, was knowledgeable about the menu, friendly, and very attentive. I ordered the chicken bruschetta. It was my first time trying it and it was absolutely delicious. For dessert we had a trio of sweet treats. My friend ordered the warm pistachio cake, I had the chocolate mousse, and we received a surprise dessert for my birthday. They were all really delicious. This is possibly the best hospitality i've ever had in Burbank. From the minute the door opened, the service was not only exceptional, but genuine and authentic, there was nothing forced from the host to the server to the owner himself. Then, there's the food. Growing up eating some of the most legit Italian food hand made by chefs from Italy, i'm extremely particular about this cuisine, but Ma's did not disappoint. Each dish was bountiful and full of flavor. The Penne Alla Vodka was my favorite and I honestly could've eaten an entire second portion of it solely because of the flavor in the sauce. At the end, because it was our first time dining here, we were given a complementary dessert; Butterscotch Pudding, which will now become a regular craving that will need to be filled! 9 of us ate here on Thursday evening. We enjoyed a spot on their enclosed patio out front which was delightful. They brought out yummy garlic bread rolls that smelled soooo good. The wait staff described the specials in such detail. I enjoyed the mushroom ravioli which was a fan favorite with the table. Decent sized raviolis (so much I took leftovers home) with a creamy mushroom sauce and sliced mushrooms and onions atop. For dessert we enjoyed a butterscotch pannacota type dessert and it wasn't too sweet but we ate every bite. read more

I enjoy this place. I had a pineapple/pepperoni pizza which was tasty. I originally wanted spicy pepperoni, but they didn't have it anymore. I was comped for a one topping pizza. I also had mushroom ravioli which I really liked a lot. It was so creamy and filling. I'd love to get this again, but also want to try their other items. Since it was my first time the waiter let us try the butterscotch budino which wasn't too sweet. This is a must here. I also forgot to mention they have complimentary garlic knots. The service was really good and plenty of parking in the lot. It may get busy because I thought the place was bigger than it actually is. They have patio and indoor seating. First timers! We will definitely come back! From the moment we entered nothing but kindness from all the employees. We got to meet the owner. What a sweet and humble man. He gave us great choices on what we should order. We pretty much ordered it all. Pizza, the crust was unbelievable, flavor, wow! My Ravioli pasta was amazing. What a nice hospitality. Been seeing this restaurant on my fyp across social media platforms and I had to check it out since it's hard to find a GOOD Italian restaurant in LA. Our server was Seth who was extremely friendly, attentive, and engaging. My mother and I love full body reds and Seth was able to recommend an excellent bottle for the table! I order a chicken masala and my mother the rigatoni bolognese! The pasta was absolutely amazing, I could not get enough, especially with the garlic rolls to pick up all the extra sauce! The only negative I have to say was that the calamari was subpar. Either than that every item that was ordered was absolutely delicious! To top it all off we ended our dinner with the butterscotch budino for dessert. Everyone must try this item!!!! Again another incredible recommendation made by our server! Absolutely would return!!!
