I've heard many good things about this restaurant so I decided to give it a try last weekend. It was surprisingly empty for a weekend afternoon. The space is beautiful: warm and welcoming, yet modern. Their brunch menu has several different options, some with a touch of Japanese fusion. I was intrigued! They also had a limited cocktail menu serving agave wine-based drinks. However, even though the space and menu piqued my interest, my experience left much to be desired. Since there are only three options for cocktails, I ordered a margarita. It was a straightforward drink. I had agave wine before, but this drink was a little weak. A $14 drink should not taste so watered down. The rim packed more of a punch than the actual drink. For food, I ordered their aguachile and tako (octopus) taco. The aguachile lacked flavor. The "agua" (marinade) was missing spice and sour notes. I don't know if this is how it's typically served here or if it was a bad batch, but I've had this dish many times before at other restaurants and there is so much depth of flavor and the marinade is usually less broth and a little more chunky from the blended ingredients. I will say that I at least liked the potato flautas that were mixed in. The octopus in the tako taco was cooked well. I enjoyed the texture. I would've enjoyed this more if it was just the octopus by itself. The menu listed a togarashi salsa macha. I didn't taste any of this on the taco. I love salsa macha and togarashi individually, so I was excited to try this fusion. Either the flavors were so subtle that they were not apparent or they forgot to add it. I hope (and assume) it's the latter because salsa macha has textural components that I would've noticed. Another miss on this was the tortilla. I love blue corn but my tortilla felt undercooked (and my friend's felt overcooked). I'm usually willing to give places a second shot, but after this restaurant was recommended by friends and oversold on social media, I'm unsure. It's possible they had an off-day in the kitchen and failed to cook things properly or add necessary ingredients. I know the server was new, but I don't know if the same applies to the kitchen staff. I hope this review serves a constructive purpose to reevaluate their menu items and preparation.

What a cozy and delicious meal! Came here for brunch on a Sunday. Everything was top tier from the latte to the french toast to the chilaquiles! Highly recommend both but if you're feeling something sweet go for the french toast and if you want savory go for the chilaquiles. The were perfectly crispy! Would absolutely recommend this place for a date, for a brunch with the girlies, you name it! There is a bar, some tables inside and two tables outside. Pro tip: this place gets hella busy but they do reservations - yay! So make sure to get one for the weekend! Parking was easy as I parked in one of the neighborhood streets nearby. It was two hour parking.

This was a great experience for comfort mexican food with modern twist! Service was excellent, kind friendly staff, and beautiful modern yet comfortable warm ambiance. Tacos: Huitlacoche - the kernels were good but mixed in with sweet corn was too sweet. I tasted more sweet corn than mushroom or huitlacoche, beans were good! Not spicy, could use a spicy salsa Chicharrón - excellent Shrimp - fresh, but too much cream sauce! The taco fell apart, more fresh condiments like cilantro and onions would have been nice vs so much sauce Barbacoa - it was good, but needed lemon, cilantro and onions! Birria especially goat or lamb is best served with fresh squeezed lemon and fresh condiments on the side for the palette's desire. Salsas and chips - fresh chips! Green salsa was good, red salsa had a flavor we couldn't pinpoint, canned chipotle maybe? Not our favorite. Tlayuda - not traditional, but the crunchy cheese layer was fun! We enjoyed it and would order one more for the table next time. Excellent and fresh Homemade Flour tortilla - yum! Homemade Corn Tortilla - a little dry, not too flavorful. Hopes for the future: I wish there could be a green salad, fish option, or other unique veggie sides like nopales, verdolagas, or mushrooms en chile that Mexican cuisine has to offer! Either way looking forward to trying lunch menu

Once again I saw this restaurant on my socials and I definitely had to stop in and try it for myself. I was not disappointed whatsoever. I was greeted with smile and a warm welcome. Very refreshing these days. The restaurant is very clean from the dining room to the restrooms.. The staff was so kind ,accommodating and very attentive. The variety of food is nice. The service was quick. The food was served at the right temperature. Everything ordered tasted fresh and delicious. I had a great experience overall. The pricing and the portions are reasonable. I will definitely come back again.

Mexican matcha (oat milk and palo santo) Light taste and refreshing Chilaquiles with green sauce delicious. We set outside. Even with the cars driving by it was very pleasant and relaxing. Friendly and relaxed service. No rush.

I was in Burbank and wanted some breakfast that wasn't right next to the mall, this was the perfect spot! It was pretty busy so without a reservation we waited about 25 mins for a table of 2. I got the breakfast sandwich without chimichurri and it was absolutely delicious! It had thick cut bacon and lots of avocado. I also got a Mexican coke and it was just the perfect meal. There's a good amount of seating inside but the place isn't huge, very cute and cozy. There's also two tables out on their patio for dining as well, making it dog friendly!

I've been wanting to try this place out ever since it opened. I'm Mexican and I'm always searching for restaurants that have authentic flavors. As soon as I saw huitlacoche tacos on their menu, I knew I had to go. The inside was bigger than I expected with quite a few tables and plenty of bar seating. It would be a great place for a date or to have a conversation with friends. I love it when restaurants aren't deafening loud. I ordered the chips and salsa which was a generous serving and included both green and red salsas, a jamaica, a huitlacoche taco and their tlayuda norteña (skirt steak with veggies). Loved the salsa, especially the spicier green one but both lacked salt. The huitlacoche taco was tasty. The skirt steak was okay. The meat wasn't very tender, the entire plate also lacked salt. Also, it was served without a knife to help cut into the whole thing. I wouldn't order this again. Overall, I enjoyed my food and my time here and I'll probably be back. I'd love to try some of their breakfast items which all look and sound lovely.

I was looking for some chilaquiles around the area and stumbled upon this cafe. I got chilaquiles verdes with carne asada added. Maybe the best chilaquiles I've had! The chips were freshly made and super crunchy. The green sauce was in the spicier side, but I still really enjoyed it! The steak is cooked medium and was very tender. The service was awesome. They kept checking up to see if we were ok. It does get busy and reservations are highly recommended. I will definitely be back!

Had a random weekday off and decided to try this spot. Every other time I've driven by on the weekend it was packed and of course for a good reason. The food here is delicious. From the ambiance of feeling like you're in a little Mexican town to the decor inside, takes you back to a place where a small town of food is happening. Kids chicken taco, flavorful however seems to be missing a little something, perhaps a dressing. Chilaquiles- perfection. Green sauce was over the top beyond flavorful and tasty, had a little spice but nothing you can't endure. Chicken sandwich - was my favorite. There was an aioli sauce that added a zest to the chicken along with its tenderness, overall excellent. Chicken taco masala - believe I spelled it wrong, however, if you're into that good flavor, it's good. Wasn't a big fan, however, I would try it if you're into the curry type flavor because the shredded chicken was really on point. Overall, I would come back mainly for the chilaquiles and the sandwich, they had coffee. Forgot a photo but the cafe de olla latte was perfection ! A definitely need to try drink!

Great food and such a cute restaurant. First time I went was excellent service. This last time wasn't as good. The waiter didn't even introduce we waited a bit to even be asked for our order and he was like did you order and we were no why do you want? Hoping it was a one time experience because I love the food.

If you're looking for a place that casually ruins all other breakfast spots for you, let me introduce you to Amor a Mi. First of all, the coffee? Offensive. Absolutely offensive... because now every other cup I drink will taste like disappointment. Smooth, rich, and clearly made by someone who actually cares about your morning mood. The French toast was basically dessert disguised as breakfast (no complaints here), and the breakfast sandwich? Let's just say it didn't stand a chance--I inhaled it like I hadn't eaten in days. Quality ingredients, perfectly done, and zero regrets. Now, my wife ordered the chilaquiles and the octopus taco, and I made the mistake of asking for "just one bite." Rookie error. Both were insanely good--flavorful, fresh, and the kind of dishes that make you reconsider sharing ever again. And the service? Honestly, rude... in the sense that they were too good. Friendly, attentive, and on top of everything without being overbearing--basically setting a standard most places won't live up to. Overall, Amor a Mi is one of those places that makes you feel like you discovered a hidden gem... except everyone else already knows about it. 10/10, will gladly come back and pretend I'm only there for the coffee.

Good breakfast spot in Burbank! I ordered the red chilaquiles with scrambled eggs. They also offer green chilaquiles, which the server mentioned are a bit spicier. You also have the option to add chicken or steak to the chilaquiles. The chilaquiles were tasty! For my drink, I ordered the Mexican matcha which was also good. The restaurant is nicely decorated and there is plenty of street parking in the area.

    Tortitas de Papa

So far we are off to a good start. Nice spot with soft Latin music to vibe it up. The Cebada agua fresca is pretty refreshing. Nice menu options too. Service is very friendly and attentive to their customers. My wife found this spot on IG. I'm tripping out cause I see they have chopsticks available. Interesting. I have to say, if you're the type who tries a new place and plays it safe, this is not the place to do that. You have to try everything or a little bit of everything. The food is as rich in flavor as it is in color. The octopus is so tender it is hands down the best octopus I've tried to date. Soft, tender, and practically melts in your mouth. The tortitas de papa!? Wow! It's like a croqueta but with a little twist of sweetness. The pork belly and the shrimp...like wow! Ribeye has good taste too but I expected a different cut. Look, don't take my word for it. You have to, HAVE TO come check out Amor a mi. This is hands down a new regular spot for us. Compliments to the chef. Oh don't forget to try their house habanero sauce too. See you here.

We definitely ordered more than we could eat, but wanted to try a few different items. Everything we ordered was delicious, portions were plenty and our waitress, Lexi, was attentive and patient as we had many questions and took a while deciding. Valet is complimentary, and there is also street parking if you can find any available spots, as it's busy area. The restaurant is on the louder side, has music playing and people speaking over it, so it's a bit overwhelming in that aspect. They have a very extensive menu here. There's a parking lot in the back and I also noticed a sign that said Complimentary Valet but there wasn't anyone at the stand. We walked in to a completely empty restaurant and saw one server (Denise) taking another table's order outside. I think she was the only employee on duty and doing everything by herself. After about 7 minutes, she approached us and asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside, and we said outside. Then she asked us if we preferred the smoking or non-smoking patio, and we chose non-smoking. I didn't even know this was an option nowadays, I thought smoking at restaurants wasn't allowed anymore. Apparently they also have hookah available every day starting at 5pm, both inside and outside the restaurant. I was really looking forward to trying their frittata but didn't know that breakfast was only until 3pm. Unfortunately I couldn't order it since we got here around 4pm. We stayed with our waters and I got a bowl of their Clam Chowder soup that came with 2 bulky and FRESH pieces of warm Focaccia bread. I also ordered a Chicken Pesto Panini which came with Grilled Chicken Breast, Basil Pesto Aioli, Tomato, Mozzarella, Fresh Basil, Roasted Peppers and Arugula on toasted Ciabatta Bread. I chose Fruit as my side. The ingredients were all fresh, but unfortunately the bread was toasted way more than my liking and the sandwich was really dry overall. There wasn't enough pesto and the chicken was a bit overcooked. I felt like I was hurting my tooth as I ate it. On the other hand, my soup absolutely stole the show. It was an outstanding bowl of Clam Chowder that really hit the spot after not having it for several years. It was piping hot, and again, very fresh. So flavorful and enjoyable. I savored every spoonful! My son ordered the French Turkey Sandwich that came with Roasted Turkey with Swiss Cheese, Avocado, Tomato, Pickles, Lettuce, Red Onions, Garlic Aioli on Sourdough Bread. He loved his sandwich and ate every crumb off his plate. I also had some of his sandwich and it was really good, way better than mine. Also nice portion for the price. He got his with a side salad that had arugula, tomatoes, red onion and lemon vinaigrette. After seating us and taking our order, Denise disappeared and Bryce took over. He was an excellent server and provided great customer service. I told him about my issues with my sandwich and he apologized and brought me some extra pesto aioli on the side. The place is very clean and everything looks very new and well-kept. Bryce mentioned they've been around for about 10 years but did an extensive remodel during COVID. I'd also like to mention that the tap water tasted so good. No nasty aftertaste like some other restaurants. Even their glasses were beautiful. Thank you management, Bryce and The Corner. We will be back another time to try the same sandwich and see if there's any improvement. We will also try more things, including the Frittata. Both restrooms were fully stocked and super clean!!

The French toast was exactly as you would imagine, cooked well and had a nice flavor. The French toast came with a side of eggs, meat, and potatoes. I chose over medium eggs, bacon, and hash browns. My eggs were cooked right, the bacon was crispy without being brittle, and the hash browns were perfect. Definitely worth it! When it arrived, it was also covered with powdered sugar and an overly generous amount of whipped cream. (Way more than in the photo on Yelp, which I'm seeing now) Had the waffle description mentioned whipped cream or powdered sugar, I wouldn't have ordered it. This was a massive cookie, essentially...I ate what I could. (Isn't it annoying when restaurants have ingredients or items NOT listed in the description that show up?) My fellow diner had a tuna sando which he said was "fine". No sides are included with sandwiches (they cost extra - take note). Iced tea was delicious but a tad expensive at $5. There are multiple seating areas. We were towards the back as the front and outdoor were full. This back area sure was lived-in: 3 tables of people with plugged in computers there for the long haul, including 1 guy who seemingly fell asleep in the booth seating against the wall? He eventually woke up and even if he was removed, he returned and was no worse for wear. Maybe that's the designated "stay for the day area" as long as you order stuff from time to time. When we left an hour later, the front seating area was completely empty! Maybe lunch isn't too busy? Calidum has a full menu, so I'd be up for trying something else, but in no rush to return.
