We had a nice experience, overall tonight, but the restaurant canceled our reservation. Tacky but apparently a 'mistake.' Our food was good, with my wife saying her lasagna was a little burned. Still good. Everything else was very nice. Drinks were good, and a decent selection of wines. Service was excellent. We sat on patio on a nice evening, but my wife was eaten alive by mosquitoes. Just keep it in mind if you're a tasty morsel. Street parking is available to avoid a valet fee of $7, if you're so inclined.

Still going strong! We celebrated a birthday today enjoying the Sunday brunch menu for the first time. It was excellent! Every dish was presented beautifully, with interesting flavors, and so delicious. We split a French toast and the smoked salmon potato hash with arugula and lemon dressing. Our server Ernesto was exceptional. My family kept complimenting how they appreciated his patience, friendliness, and actually all the effort of the staff to make the meal so enjoyable. They were all so attentive and courteous. By the end, we felt we couldn't have chosen a better place to celebrate such a nice occasion.

For our last dinner on our Studio City trip, my sister and bro-in-law booked Ca Del Sole, an Italian restaurant in Toluca Lake they always wanted to try. Toluca Lake is an expensive area in LA, but the actual lake is fenced in and not available to the public. I even had trouble finding it on Google Map, but I did see the Hollywood Reservoir, LOL! The restaurant is good-sized and very trendy yet welcoming for families. Parking is $7 valet. They have a surprisingly big kid's menu and have a good mix of seafood and meaty entrees. Highly recommend the grilled Spanish octopus with white beans. Very tender. The Bruschetta was also very good - crispy at first bite but then super soft and melts in the mouth. Wife and I both got fish entrees. She had the chilean sea bass special while I went for the excellent bown-sugar smoked Scottish Salmon. It was a nice thick piece, but very moist and tasty. Our 6yo son got the penne pasta with butter sauce and chicken, one of his favorites. An excellent Italian restaurant for date night or family dinner. Their big menu and excellent service are 5-star worthy.

When you think of how relatively small a country Italy is, it is remarkable that it has spawned thousands of restaurants around the world and represents one of the top three favorite cuisines on earth. It is similarly popular and ubiquitous in America. And further, there is a wide variety of interpretations of this very well known culinary style. So, I can say, Ca del Sole represents its own unique interpretation of Italian food, California-wise, in the US. Start with parking. They have their own lot and a reasonably priced ($7) very friendly valet. Nice and easy. The entrance to what appears to be a substantial and established building immediately introduces you to the wine closet, which displays some appealing vintages. Good so far. There are multiple places to eat: outside on a pretty, covered patio, the bar area, the main dining room, and a large extra room beyond that. We chose to sit inside on a cloudy, chilly day. The atmosphere in the room is old school. The lights were dim, the pale blue walls are plain save some interesting artwork here and there. The stone-like floors are dark and it is all offset by crisp cream linen-clad tables. The general effect is California in the '50s -- and it is pleasingly comfortable, as are the leather-like banquettes. Our server, Paul, was quick to attend to us and kept up that efficiency throughout our meal. He was warm and friendly while being utterly professional. We arrived in time for the brunch menu and could also choose from the main menu, so we selected items from both. Everything was well done, if not revolutionary or spectacular. Each item was a good representative of its category. My pictures will tell the rest about the food selection. I liked the menu being in Italian. I would have preferred Italian music in the background. We seemed to have picked a quiet time in the early afternoon but there was a large party in one room and other tables filled and emptied during the time we were there, a leisurely 90 minutes or so. As I have mentioned before, there are restaurants that are essentially local venues, drawing a loyale and repeat clientele, as opposed to those who try to attract a wider customer base. Ca del Sole seems to be the former, especially given the people who we saw when we were there, who seemed as if they had been frequenting CdS for decades. I also imagine they bring in the studio execs during the week, so a weekend afternoon is a good time to go and I think you should try it. If I have any suggestions for the owner, I think the place could be updated a bit. Whiter walls, a little bit higher and warmer lighting, maybe fresh flowers? I can't put my finger on it, it seemed a bit understated, just a bit tired. Ca del Sole doesn't speak of the Old Country to me. It is classic Los Angeles Italian and for many people that is what makes it charming. I liked it and for certain friends and family, it would be the ideal place to go again, and I know we will.

I eat here a lot for client dinners. Also their HH is not the same as it used to be (dang inflation) but the food and drink options are still good. Great spot for date night (the outside seating is romantic), friends meet-up, and HH. You may even see a celeb or two - I seen Michael Bivins and Ronnie DeVoe one time. Ca Del Sole is a hidden gems in SFV/Toluca Lake.

Stopped by for dinner! They have valet parking but there is metered street parking (free after 6p just verify the signs). We shared some squid ink linguini, seafood soup, and burrata. We told the waiter we were sharing so he split the dishes for us! Food was great tasting, presented well and appropriate portions. We sat inside and the booths were comfortable. We walked by the patio area and it seemed pretty lively on a Friday night.

Late review from April 29, 2026 We ate here for the 1st for our wedding anniversary. We were seated immediately in the beautiful patio. Great seating design. No one was sitting next to another party. We shared the bruschetta, which was delicious, even though the toasted bread was soggy. My husband got the gnocchi with pesto and loved it. I had the raw baby artichoke salad, with lemon vinegarette, and capellini with marinara. I loved the salad and enjoyed the pasta, as well. Service was perfect, even with 4 parties of over 20 people. For dessert I ordered a lemon meringue tart with raspberries and the waiter also brought us a Happy Anniversary dessert. A very nice dining experience for our special day.

Ca' Del Sole in Toluca Lake has been serving Italian cuisine since 1994. I have been here several times over the years and it has never disappointed me. We just had a Sunday night dinner here with my son, and yet again it was a great experience. The service here is always good. We were greeted and seated by their manager Ever, and Oscar was our server. We got our bread basket and it came with two different breads (both delicious) along with some olive tapenade that was equally delicious. I ordered the Osso Bucco (48.75) which was a braised veal shank served with saffron risotto. I hadn't had veal in a very long time and it really hit the spot. It was juicy, tender, and succulent. The risotto was also delicious. My son had the Arugula Salad with Salmon ($23.95) and he said he liked it and that the portion was enough. It came with mango, onion, tomato, goat cheese, lemon dressing and balsamic reduction. For dessert we had their Panna Cotta and I honestly have to say this is the BEST Panna Cotta EVER! So smooth, silky, decadent and light at the same time. It's truly DIVINE!!! One of their most popular desserts. We LICKED the plate. They were playing some lovely Latin guitar music over the speakers as we enjoyed our dinner on their beautiful patio. There is also a bar available with TVs and they have a Happy Hour. Restaurant is very clean along with their bathrooms. They offer valet parking for $7 or you can find metered/residential parking nearby. Definitely check out this lovely restaurant if you've never been here before. It's a great place for date night, birthdays, or simply a nice dinner!

Location 4 stars: On the east side of Cahuenga Blvd in Toluca Lake, south of the 134 Freeway and Moorpark Street, just North of the Los Angeles River. Paid Valet parking only. There are some metered spots nearby also. Venue 4 stars: Full indoor bar area, indoor tables and booths and outdoor tables in a quaint rustic patio. The patio is covered with nets (I suppose to keep leaves and birds out) but not rain proof. Service 4 stars: Polite and attentive. Food 4 stars: Nice menu of mostly Italian fare. We had the Tuna Tartare, the Fritto Misto (Calamari) and the Crescione Salad as appetizers. All were very good. As our main plates we had the Osso Bucco, the Filet Mignon, the Lamb Chops, the Pan Roasted Salmon, the Branzino, the Meat Ravioli, and the Rigatoni Alla Buttera (yes, we were a large group :D). All were very good and highly recommended. For dessert we shared the Tiramisu which was also very good. Prices are reasonable. Drinks 4 stars: Large list of delicious specialty cocktails and mocktails, beer, wine and soft drinks. We had the Rye Old Fashioned and the Passion Flower and both were very good. Drink prices were reasonable also. The Bottom Line 4 stars: A solid, all around 4 star experience. Highly recommended!

My lovely wife reserved this restaurant for us to celebrate our anniversary, although quite the long drive, when we arrived, we were greeted by valet parking as I couldn't find any street parking (Valet is $7) When inside, the front desk receptionist took our reservation and immediately sat us by a comfy sofa table, which to my surprise is very spacious. Interior is very well maintained, very spacious, and perfect for big groups of parties as well. I noticed that plenty of people were also dining outside which is perfect for a non windy/hot day. Our server asked us if we would like some bread (with olive oil spread) which turned out to be complimentary as I found out when the check was received. Our server was beyond great, walked around plenty of times to each table was checked up on us, another staff was also refilling water which is a nice gesture. Our order was taken fairly quickly & food came out faster than expected. (10-15 minute wait) Complimentary Bread: A nice surprise, two types of bread. One with soft bites, and one with hard crust, both are savory & not too salty. Goes really well with the olive oil spread and of course, this is the standard appetizer for many restaurants around. BRUSCHETTA: (4PCS) On the toasted bread comes with fresh tomatoes, garlic, and basil. This is one of the most fulfilling appetizers around. Very nice medium size bites which my wife and I enjoyed. Very fresh and nice crunch to the bread. Great balance between the sweetness of the tomatoes and the savory bread. RIGATONI ALLA BUTTERA: One of my favorite pastas around, pork sausage, peas, and shredded cheese along with the rigatoni is the perfect entree. Easily shareable between two people, super savory, flavorful, and easy to bite. Portions are not too big but not too small either. This is my favorite dish from the evening meal. Highly recommend this fulfilling dish for anyone who loves pastas. COSTOLETTE D' AGNELLO ALL' ACETO (Lamb Chops): To my surprise, this was very easily cut. The dish comes with 4 moderate size lamb chops (Medium Rare) that's mixed in vinaigrette & garlic sauce, some spinach on the side, and potatoes. One of the most juicy lamb chops I've ever eaten. Although a shareable dish, can get messy but if eaten properly, no mess is added. Since we were celebrating our anniversary, our server brought out a lovely ice cream dessert for us with writing on it + candle. It was a very well made pleasant surprise by my wife & staff to celebrate this special day. Our server also helped us took many couple photos that came out perfect! Love everything about this restaurant, if I could give more than 5 stars, I would. This restaurant is perfect for any special occasion and even without any special occasion, you will have a great time at this restaurant as the food is top quality and has impeccable & friendly service.

Our waiter Jose started us off with drinks and appetizers. It was a chill vibe in a comfortable booth, and we were encouraged to take our time. We started off with the squash, blossom special and the tuna tartare. Next, I had a delicious bowl of pasta with clams and white sauce, my friend had the gnocchi. We were very pleased with everything and will definitely be back.

The restaurant was not super busy at the time so not sure why they were "rushing us". 2. The tiramisu... again this is not my first time at Uovo although it is the first time I visited the Studio City spot; there was something off with the Tiramisu to the point that my friend and I did not even finish the dessert. I did not see a designated parking lot (just street) but there was plenty of street parking available with no meters on Sunday. The dining experience is cool as it has that old world charm to it with the checkered table cloths in classic Italian style. As for the food, it was just mediocre. We started off with the antipasto salad and that is a total waste of money for what you get (16.95). It was on the smaller side and was not a traditional antipasto salad. It had the salami and cheese on the bottom of the plate (in whole slices) along with some regular lettuce on top with two green onions and some green olives on the side and some red onions (at 1st I thought that our server brought us the wrong salad). As for our entrees, I ordered the spinach lasagna and it was ok. The portion size was small but since lasagna is generally heavy I was able to finish it. BFF ordered the baked mostaccioli with Italian sausage added to it and his was a bigger portion. We had two soft drinks and some water with our meal and the total came to 110.00 incl tip. Ouch! Our server was friendly but not overly and the service was good. I really wanted to like this establishment but the food did not impress me at all. Italian restaurants are a dime a dozen in LA and I rarely make it to this area; therefore, I highly doubt I will be back.

Even with a reservation, expect a short wait. They hold tables for late arrivals, which often leaves empty tables sitting while people are waiting. A little tighter management would go a long way. Once you're seated, though, everything runs like clockwork. This location has a full liquor license, so unlike some of the others, you can enjoy proper cocktails in addition to beer and wine. The bar is spacious and perfect for dinner. The food comes out incredibly fast without sacrificing quality. If you're not planning a long evening, you can easily be in and out in 45 minutes. I only snapped photos of the Alla Vodka and tiramisu, but I've worked my way through a good part of the menu. The Gem Lettuce Salad, Beef Bolognese, meatballs, and pizzas are all consistently excellent. Honestly, it's hard to order wrong here. The staff is friendly, efficient, and the restaurant is always clean. The hosts? Let's just say they're very... LA, you already know the vibe.... thankkkkk uuuuuu Great food, great drinks, fast service, and remarkable consistency. This is an easy five stars and my go-to John & Vinny's location.

The bruschetta chicken was juicy and flavorful. The pasta with it was light and delicious. The chicken parm was quite good, but the bolognese sauce was the star of the meal. This was one of our favorite meat sauces we've had in quite a while. We finished the meal with a complimentary budino that our server brought to us as first time guests. The butterscotch flavor was light and creamy, so good! It was the perfect sweet treat to end the meal. Service was very good, our primary server was on top of things and the other people helped him out as well. Manager checked on us too. The restaurant is fairly small and was pretty full. From the outside, it's very unassuming but inside was nice and felt cozy.

The history alone makes it worth a visit. We sat outside, which was lovely, and the service was friendly and attentive. The Caesar salad was fantastic. The only thing that left a bad impression was the automatic 3.5% "Kitchen Appreciation Fee" added to the bill. I don't mind paying more for great food or supporting restaurant staff, but I don't like surprise fees that aren't obvious until the check arrives. If the cost of doing business has gone up, I'd much rather see menu prices reflect that than have an extra charge automatically added at the end. I know they'll remove it if you ask, but it shouldn't come as a surprise in the first place.

The food and the experience were excellent. Our server was incredibly friendly and gave us some great recommendations to start the night. We began with the house bread, which was soft on the inside, crispy on the outside, and served with balsamic and olive oil. Simple and delicious. Next up was their homemade Caesar salad. Instead of traditional croutons they use toasted crumbs, and honestly it was a game changer. The texture worked perfectly with the dressing. For our mains we had the Dover sole piccata which was bright, buttery, and exactly what we were craving, along with the seafood linguine that was rich and flavorful. We wrapped things up with a cappuccino cheesecake and an Americano which was the perfect way to end the meal. Great service, great food, and a really enjoyable dinner overall. 10/10 recommend. PS: The playlist was hitting perfectly.

From my first call to restaurateur Eric to make a reservation earlier in the week, the experience was as warm and personable as can be. Within minutes of our arrival, we were greeted by co-restaurateur Antonio, and we instantly felt like family at the beautiful, private table they had thoughtfully reserved for us by the window. Our wonderful server, Jessica, made the night even brighter. We started with some Peach Puree Bellini Prosecco that was crisp, refreshing, and beyond amazing. The food arrived with impressive speed, but the quality was truly second to none. My wife absolutely loved the special of the night--a Tiger Shrimp and Asparagus Linguini--and my Angus Beef Bolognese with savory short rib ragu was easily the best I've ever had. Antonio and Jessica checked on us frequently, chatting about the day and the amazing history of the restaurant. This was NOT just a night out at a "restaurant." This was quite literally getting together with family and having the time of our lives. Prosecco Trattoria is not "just another place to eat"--it is now our favorite home away from home for artfully prepared food and drinks. To Eric, Antonio, and Jessica: thank you for welcoming us into your family for such a special milestone!
