I'm not a huge brunch guy but this place was solid. I got the omelette with Kalamata olives and feta and it was really good. Eggs were light and fluffy. They did my potatoes well done (which I requested) and my ice tea was refilled twice. Bread was served with the eggs which I used as a giant cracker for them. The pancake was ok. I asked them to make it chocolate chip and they very lightly sprinkled some in, despite me getting charged. It's not about the money. It's brunch. The very financial equation for brunch is horribly off from the customer side hahaha It's that when a big guy like me wants chocolate on his breakfast cake circle, load that thing up! No one is ordering pancakes to "kinda be bad." Lol It's cake. Syrup was awesome and butter was non-existent. Tiny little plastic butter lids. Hard as a rock. Get a ramekin of butter next time! You are doing your fancy glass bottle of syrup a disservice by its butter equivalent looking like the kid who didn't get picked for dodge ball. The ambiance was 10/10. I actually just changed it from 4 to 5 stars. Looked like a cool east coast breakfast diner. Smelled like coffee and sun. The manager or owner came in (fit skinny super tan guy) and knew several tables. Even started helping out with bussing and stuff because it was slammed. You love to see that. read more

Worst Benedict ever! I was so hungry preparing to have a nice breakfast. When it was delivered, it was not only cold but had some strange "Benedict" sauce on it, then there's only about a teaspoon of sauce over the top. The rosemary potatoes didn't have any rosemary taste to it. Actually, the potatoes were bland. The kicker on all this was the English muffin was as as flat as if a car ran over it...about 1/8 inch thick. I tried to cut it with my table knife but it was like cutting cardboard. We tried to get our waiters attention but to no avail. My husband had to go up and grab a steak knife off the service table! I took my first bite and it was it was not tasty, just a chew fest. I told the waiter about it and he made an excuse "they must have over toasted the English muffin, not even offering me something else Off the menu. 3/4 of my food was left on the plate and seen by the waiter but he didn't care. We paid for it all anyway so walking out of the restaurant was very disappointing. We won't be going back. read more

I already had breakfast but she was feeling good and starving for Aeirloom. She ALWAYS gets the Sunny Sandwich with potatoes. Every single time. She LOVES it. Since I had my disappointing breakfast, I got Bread Friends. A huge assortment of toast with homemade jam. You can't go wrong with toast, especially artisan toast. Fantastic. Very fresh and homemade. Aeirloom Bakery has been in Toluca Lake over 10 years now and there is nothing not to like, except they are only open until 4 pm. Now, this is not just a bakery. It is an amazing restaurant with all organic food, all made to order and served with a smile. They are dedicated to serving only the finest organic foods and coffees. The place is just beautiful, inside and out and you will get the best service, be it if you eat there or go to the bakery area that is amazing. They have indoor and outdoor seating. You can get a meal there or eat their wonderful pastries. If my camera does not start working better I am going to throw it though a wall. There were some dishes I had or have had and asked if they could take a photo for me. They did better, they just directed me to where I could grab some of their amazing items. We have had them all. The bakery is the best. You will love their cakes and pastries. It is all just so great and never stale. I love any of their chocolate cakes. Their food is to die for. The only thing I did not love was their eggs because I did not like the bread it came with. I bet I could have changed it, but it was good. They have wonderful soft tacos and their salads are great. They even have burgers, but I have not tried them. They have a French toast that you can add whatever you want to and it is served so you put what you want on it. We love their benedicts. I have had one with scrambled eggs and a salad that was heaven. All of their fruit bowls are the best. They have something for everyone. So happy to have made this amazing discovery! Driven by countless times thinking oh one of these days... well, today was that day. My husband and I came for brunch and had an excellent experience. Be prepared to wait a little bit, but also know that it is 1000% worth the wait. They do their best to move tables quickly and they offer plenty of seating outside so at least you're comfortable and not standing around. There are a couple of dozen tables outside, which would be lovely, but we sat inside, which was perfect perfectly pleasant. This place is busy! Somehow I am always surprised to get such amazing service when restaurants are packed and bustling like this one is. Service was absolutely outstanding. Attentive, friendly and our food and drinks came quickly. They have really great cocktails, and my husband enjoyed the bloody Mary to start to be followed by a couple of mimosas with different juices. I enjoyed an Earl Grey tea. Great selection of beverages, both alcoholic, and non-alcoholic. We couldn't decide so we ended up sharing the O.M.R. What an incredible dish. It's optioned with shredded pork which we got and it was outstanding. We also got the Kalamata cutie omelette, and it was delicious. Everything is well prepared, fresh with quality ingredients and portion size is perfect. Wishing now that we would've gotten something from the bakery case for a snack for later, but that's another reason to go back sometime very soon! Incredibly reasonably priced. Filling but will pass on it next time as only one of the breads stood out: cranberry. I had their prosciutto Benedict. This is one of their best sellers. The flavor was great but their homemade muffin was thin and a bit too crunchy. They came with a side and I got their potatoes. My friend got the tostada. She said it was solid. We arrived 2 hours before closing, the places had a decent number of people but was not packed at this time. Never felt rushed and the servers were on top if it for the most part. As the staff began to clean up, as it drew closer to closing time, it was a little but more difficult to get assistance, which I can understand. Price: 4/5: this place has great value, its roughly about $15-$25 per person if you include drinks. I never felt any item on the menu was overpriced. Ambiance: 4/5: a country home vibe with a touch of modernity. A nice relaxing vibe with relatively chill music. Outside seating and dog friendly which is always a plus. There is no counter or podium to approach to put your name in etc. You just have to catch a waiter, and they do not communicate with each other. We came with our 1mo old baby in a stroller, spoke to a waiter, and were directed to wait for a table that needed to be bussed. We waited maybe 10 min and the table was not cleaned. While we waited, two other groups spoke to a different waiter, and were seated ahead of us at the table we had been promised and another one. We were then asked to wait for an indoor table, then sent back outdoors so they "could build us a table", and then finally told to wait for a group there to finish. We ended up giving up and leaving while the people at that table chatted after paying. read more

I was very disappointed with my order. I tried the Quinoa Queen Salad, and unfortunately, it was a huge letdown. It felt like I was eating dirt and grass. The salad was supposed to include black beans and corn, but I had to dig around just to find a few pieces. There was an overwhelming amount of parsley or mint (I'm not even sure which), and even with the dressing, it lacked flavor. I paid nearly $16 only to end up throwing it away. I hope other menu items are better, but I wouldn't recommend this salad unless you enjoy having parsley or mint stuck in your teeth. read more

Had a great brunch at Aeirloom. It's a popular, busy spot, and you'll usually have to wait for a table, but it's well worth the time. The staff is friendly, the atmosphere buzzy and a bit loud, and everyone seems to be having a great time. Our waiter was very attentive and enjoyed rattling off a stream of one-liners that, funny or not, made me appreciate his dedication to creating a lighthearted experience. I ordered the breakfast sandwich, a generous serving of bacon, eggs and cheese, very nicely cooked and served with some very tasty rosemary potatoes. The food was really good, we ordered a few different dishes and everyone seemed to enjoy what they got. The coffee was good too, the only issue was with my coffee order. I specifically asked for decaf coffee, and after my 2nd cup, I checked with my server just to make sure it was decaf, she admitted she had forgotten and was actually serving me regular. It can get busy; consider another spot if you're famished and feeling impatient (yes, that was us) but totally worth the wait for the all organic menu options. All three of us thoroughly enjoyed our food: sunny sandwich, juicy bison burger, and breakfast wrap. We want to return to try more of the menu... we already have ideas on what we want to try based on seeing the beautiful plates of food being delivered around us. This is such a cute bakery cafe. We came with my family of 5 on a Saturday morning and here was a table available outside but we found one inside just clearing up so waited for that. We ordered at the table but it looked like u can also order bakery items and coffee up front possibly. The coffee was good and strong. The food was delicious. The kids split a French toast Challah at me. They loved it, definitely a different take on French toast. Hubs had the wrap and next time he will think to add meat to it. And I split the Guilt free combo with my toddler. We will definitely be back soon. We've been going to Aeirloom for years for brunch, but the service the past few times has been terrible and rude, so I'd refrained from going for about a year and just tried it again. The last time we went (about a year ago), the host was rude and made my elderly mom who walks with a cane stand outside where it was drizzling, so we left. We went again today, a warm day, and no a/c was on so we asked if they might turn it on and the host said yes, but looked agitated. Then nobody came to take our order, even though it was a quiet Monday morning and there were several waiters milling around - one kept passing by but never looked at us so I finally, politely, told him we were ready. The food was meh - they forgot to put chickpeas on the avocado toast which the menu says it comes with. The combolini which we've ordered in the past came as a breakfast sandwich with no reference to that in the menu description. The food was meh. I again had to get up to ask for the check as multiple employees were standing around but none bothered to see if we were ready for the check (despite having cleared our plates). It's just a weird and unfriendly vibe. I'd rather go for breakfast where we feel welcome. Service matters. Disappointing, because this is a cute place and was once a favorite. read more

They like to give you a little razzle dazzle and I appreciate it every time. Staff is a very quirky and keep you on your toes (in a good way!). Food is pretty delicious. The breakfast is always a hit, I love the eggs benny. They add a little touch that helps cut the heaviness of the dish in a very unique way. They have VERY fragrant rosemary potatoes (be warned for those who do not like rosemary, the taste is there). I have had friends love it and some who absolutely hate it. The drinks are yummy and well crafted. I really like the overall vibe and it's what keeps me coming back. PS.... Parking is atrocious! Aeirloom Bakery is a bakery and cafe on the corner of Riverside and Cahuenga in Toluca Lake. After passing by for many years, my hubby and I finally had brunch there today. Pros: - Cute ambience - Friendly and efficient service - Decent menu for both breakfast and lunch - Outdoor tables that are dog friendly Cons: - I personally found the rosemary potatoes to be so heavy with rosemary that I could not eat them. The rosemary was just too much. - Both my omelette and my hubby's panini were served lukewarm instead of hot. Food that isn't served hot at a restaurant is a pet peeve of mine. I should've sent it back. My husband complained that the cheese in his panini was not melty. - There was very little cheese in my omelette. - I ordered a mushroom, tomato, and cheese omelette, but they served me a cheese omelette with chopped mushrooms and tomatoes on top. An omelette should have all the ingredients folded inside. All in all, I found that the cons outweighed the pros. I would recommend trying it for yourself because they obviously have a huge following. But it was not my favorite meal and I can't see returning. My favorite thing was the service. Our server was very sweet, and despite the fact that we were sitting outside on an extremely windy day, she came out and checked on us several times. Oftentimes, diners sitting outside get neglected, but that was not the case for us. Maybe I would enjoy this place more as just a quick pop-in spot for a cappuccino and pastry. read more

Honestly, I was planning to give this place a 5-star review while my spouse and I were there eating. We were on our way to have lunch somewhere else when we happened to spot this place while driving by, and my spouse suggested that we try it out. It looked cute, it wasn't too busy, and the seating outside was just perfect. Nice and shady. And we were even able to find an empty table for us. I wasn't sure how it worked at this place, so I went inside and asked if we needed to be seated or sit where we wanted. The gentleman behind the counter said, politely sit wherever you like. After a while, the same guy came by. He was very friendly ( unfortunately, I forgot his name), he brought the menus and and we ordered our drinks. We didn't have to wait very long. I had the impression he was very professional in his job, having been in the same business myself a long time ago. When it was time to order our food, I decided to have Prosciutto Benedict with rosemary potatoes, and my spouse, who is vegan, ordered Mrs Cherro. Believe you me, both of us LOVED it. Very much though. We even complimented the waiter on how good the food was. After we paid, I still wanted to finish my coffee. I had one or 2 sips in my cup. My spouse asked me if I mind if he goes to the car already, which was parked right in front of the place. Because he is starting to have gas. A few seconds later, I joined him and got into the car while he was still standing next to the car. When he got into the car ( he was driving his car), he said he felt a bit weird in his stomach. Now, we live in Valley Glen near Valley College, so we have to drive quite a bit. Then shortly, he complained that he really needed to go to the bathroom badly. I am sorry for "oversharing," but it is what it is! Then he started to sweat like crazy. He wouldn't let me drive. We barely made it home, and he got so sick. I am talking about being really sick from top to bottom. Now, I am terribly sorry, normally I am not that quick to blame a restaurant's food if I get a little sick. But in this case, it is obvious that one or some of the ingredients of the dish my spouse was served were bad and made him very sick. He is in bed at the moment. I was thinking about calling the place. But what's the point? Most of the time, they get defensive and deny any wrongdoing anyway. And we actually did plan to come back; that was how much we liked the place. But no, no way. Food poisoning is not what we wanted for lunch. We went on a Sunday afternoon and were seated in about five minutes for a party of two. The staff is helpful, friendly, and our waitress was great. We had the Club Novembreast, Juicy Bounty, which is a Bison Bacon Cheeseburger with a Bloody Mary and Watermelon Mimosa to drink. The burger was very juicy and not as heavy as a beef burger. I had to unhinge my jaw a few times to take a bite. The panini was crispy and delicious. Both drinks were very refreshing. This bakery is consistently wonderful and one of the main reasons we keep coming back for breakfast every Saturday. The owner is always friendly, and many of the staff have been here for as long as I've been visiting -- at least the past 10 years. What makes a restaurant truly successful is quality and consistency in both the food and the service, and they deliver on both every time.
