    Good pancake but lacking chocolate
    Alex B.

I'm not a huge brunch guy but this place was solid. I got the omelette with Kalamata olives and feta and it was really good. Eggs were light and fluffy. They did my potatoes well done (which I requested) and my ice tea was refilled twice. Bread was served with the eggs which I used as a giant cracker for them. The pancake was ok. I asked them to make it chocolate chip and they very lightly sprinkled some in, despite me getting charged. It's not about the money. It's brunch. The very financial equation for brunch is horribly off from the customer side hahaha It's that when a big guy like me wants chocolate on his breakfast cake circle, load that thing up! No one is ordering pancakes to "kinda be bad." Lol It's cake. Syrup was awesome and butter was non-existent. Tiny little plastic butter lids. Hard as a rock. Get a ramekin of butter next time! You are doing your fancy glass bottle of syrup a disservice by its butter equivalent looking like the kid who didn't get picked for dodge ball. The ambiance was 10/10. I actually just changed it from 4 to 5 stars. Looked like a cool east coast breakfast diner. Smelled like coffee and sun. The manager or owner came in (fit skinny super tan guy) and knew several tables. Even started helping out with bussing and stuff because it was slammed. You love to see that.

I was in the area because my friend was getting a colonoscopy. She said she's usually out of it and probably won't want to eat. I already had breakfast but she was feeling good and starving for Aeirloom. She ALWAYS gets the Sunny Sandwich with potatoes. Every single time. She LOVES it. Since I had my disappointing breakfast, I got Bread Friends. A huge assortment of toast with homemade jam. You can't go wrong with toast, especially artisan toast. Fantastic. Very fresh and homemade. It's a pretty large space on the corner. There is street parking and a small lot behind the restaurant. Our server was wonderful! He kept her Arnold Palmer filled and perfectly poured. She said they make their own tea.

I have not been here in a while and came with the girlfriend for brunch on Sunday. Portions were huge. I had the breakfast wrap which is equivalent to a breakfast burrito that came with the side of potatoes and two people could definitely share it. Ordered a virgin bloody Mary and it was spicy just like I asked for! Service was great, we were seated outside, definitely will be going back and prices were reasonable!

If I could give 6 stars, I would!! Friendly staff, excellent service, delicious food! I ordered the Spicy Tomato and it. was. PHENOMENAL! A perfect lil Armenian breakfast dish with all the yummiest flavors. (: We sat outside on a hot, sunny day and were perfectly comfy as we were shaded nicely by the pretty, light blue umbrellas. Would absolutely eat here again! Yum!

Aeirloom Bakery has been in Toluca Lake over 10 years now and there is nothing not to like, except they are only open until 4 pm. Now, this is not just a bakery. It is an amazing restaurant with all organic food, all made to order and served with a smile. They are dedicated to serving only the finest organic foods and coffees. The place is just beautiful, inside and out and you will get the best service, be it if you eat there or go to the bakery area that is amazing. They have indoor and outdoor seating. You can get a meal there or eat their wonderful pastries. If my camera does not start working better I am going to throw it though a wall. There were some dishes I had or have had and asked if they could take a photo for me. They did better, they just directed me to where I could grab some of their amazing items. We have had them all. The bakery is the best. You will love their cakes and pastries. It is all just so great and never stale. I love any of their chocolate cakes. Their food is to die for. The only thing I did not love was their eggs because I did not like the bread it came with. I bet I could have changed it, but it was good. They have wonderful soft tacos and their salads are great. They even have burgers, but I have not tried them. They have a French toast that you can add whatever you want to and it is served so you put what you want on it. We love their benedicts. I have had one with scrambled eggs and a salad that was heaven. All of their fruit bowls are the best. They have something for everyone. Their prices are a tad high, but you get what you pay for, great organic food. What truly makes Aeirloom special is the community they have. Everyone is so nice and more than once we have seen the same people there.

So happy to have made this amazing discovery! Driven by countless times thinking oh one of these days... well, today was that day. My husband and I came for brunch and had an excellent experience. Be prepared to wait a little bit, but also know that it is 1000% worth the wait. They do their best to move tables quickly and they offer plenty of seating outside so at least you're comfortable and not standing around. There are a couple of dozen tables outside, which would be lovely, but we sat inside, which was perfect perfectly pleasant. This place is busy! Somehow I am always surprised to get such amazing service when restaurants are packed and bustling like this one is. Service was absolutely outstanding. Attentive, friendly and our food and drinks came quickly. They have really great cocktails, and my husband enjoyed the bloody Mary to start to be followed by a couple of mimosas with different juices. I enjoyed an Earl Grey tea. Great selection of beverages, both alcoholic, and non-alcoholic. We couldn't decide so we ended up sharing the O.M.R. What an incredible dish. It's optioned with shredded pork which we got and it was outstanding. We also got the Kalamata cutie omelette, and it was delicious. Everything is well prepared, fresh with quality ingredients and portion size is perfect. Wishing now that we would've gotten something from the bakery case for a snack for later, but that's another reason to go back sometime very soon! Incredibly reasonably priced. With tip it was $100 for two dishes, three cocktails, and a cup of tea. We will definitely plan a visit back here. Delightful on all levels and highly recommend.

Came here for lunch with a friend. Started off with their bread appetizer. Came with three different types of bread, butter, and jam. Filling but will pass on it next time as only one of the breads stood out: cranberry. I had their prosciutto Benedict. This is one of their best sellers. The flavor was great but their homemade muffin was thin and a bit too crunchy. They came with a side and I got their potatoes. My friend got the tostada. She said it was solid. All in all solid food for the price. I will say this seems to be a great place for mimosas though! Looked like they had numerous different options. The service was fantastic! Lots of seating inside and some cute tables outside. There was also an option for coffee and baked goods at the register. Parking was street parking (2 hours) and wasn't hard to come by.

First time there. It was very busy but we got seated pretty quick since we were on the waiting list prior to arriving. Menu's choices are good. Food took a long time. Our waiter was ok, zero personality. Food was delicious. Vibe was cool. Managers checked on us a couple of times. Bathroom needed attention. We were seated outside. It was full and noisy inside. Overall, our Sunday's brunch was great and we will go back.

    Simply southern, chicken and waffles

Food: 4/5 Service: 4/5 Price: 4/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Food: 4/5: we ordered the Happy Havana Panini, the simply Southern chicken and waffles, a lemonade, espresso and a toasted smore latte. The Happy Havana was excellent, maybe the best Cuban sandwich in the Valley. The chicken and waffles were ok, the slices of fried chicken weren't the greatest but the bacon made it significantly better and the waffles themselves were decent. The latte was good, so was the espresso and lemonade. Overall everything was solid, but the Happy Havana was the standout. Service: 4/5: very good service overall. We arrived 2 hours before closing, the places had a decent number of people but was not packed at this time. Never felt rushed and the servers were on top if it for the most part. As the staff began to clean up, as it drew closer to closing time, it was a little but more difficult to get assistance, which I can understand. Price: 4/5: this place has great value, its roughly about $15-$25 per person if you include drinks. I never felt any item on the menu was overpriced. Ambiance: 4/5: a country home vibe with a touch of modernity. A nice relaxing vibe with relatively chill music. Outside seating and dog friendly which is always a plus. It also has parking in the back which is a premium being on Ventura Blvd. I'd definitely come back.

When you go to Aeirloom, you get the most elevated and yet homey breakfast and lunch food. Everything is special. And - if you come here often enough, it's like becoming family! It's a great place filled with appreciative staff and patrons. The owners do it right!

Going in to Forman's Whiskey Tavern, I had 5 choices from the menu that looked amazing to me: 1. TAVERN SALAD with manchego, apple, candied pecans, and a champagne vinaigrette. 2. GRILLED CHEESE sweetened with butternut squash and a sage brown butter. 3. TAVERN (Impossible) BURGER with avo, arugula, pickled onion, and honey mustard dressing. 4. BISTRO (Impossible) BURGER which is like the French Onion Soup of burgers on a challah bun. 5. PATTY MELT, but I'd let my carnivorous side indulge with beef vs. Impossible meat. Thankfully the menu special that greeted me at the front door reaffirmed my choice that I should choose a burger. The Weekday Special from 12-3pm: Any Burger or Sandwich, Side of Fries or House Salad, and a pop was just $16. Plus, the bartender encouraged me that the burgers are really good. So the TAVERN BURGER with Impossible meat, a side green salad, and a lemonade needed no coin toss for me to be decisive. Ordering my meal at the bar was easy, there was no line, and service was quick. I loved that it was chill for a mid-week lunch hour. However, I imagine it gets busy later on in the afternoon and during a non-holiday week. Most of LA was already heading out to campsites for the 4th of July week from what it seemed. Beyond the burger, I really loved the fun decor. Inside, it felt like a Southern Hunting Lodge with its trophies hanging on the wall. Outdoors, it had my kind of charm with its lush greenery, flowering blooms, rustic decor, and picnic-style benches that felt like you're in someone's backyard. I'm sure the big tree in the center helps make the twinkle lights amazing at night. Plus, if you bring your furry friend (service dog) then the outdoor patio is a nice place to chill, and there's a bowl of fresh water just for them. As for drinks, there are plenty of beer choices on tap from Old Rasputin Stout to IPAs. Malbec and Opolo Zin looked enticing too. Since this is a Whiskey Tavern, there are lots of options ranging from low to high-end spirits to choose from. I recommend you take a peek at their menu beforehand to avoid deliberating for a while before choosing the one that speaks to you.

First of all, I love the artwork. That is what convinced me to try this particular Granville when the first three were OK but nothing special. This one is. Second, the place is vast and beautifully decorated inside (see my pix). The temperature, the music (80s), the furnishings (brick, stone, glass, metal, wood -- all top quality), the plants, and the service were exceptional. Third, if you are up for it, there is valet parking even for weekend brunch. This is nice because the neighborhood is a little grungy and that saves stepping over the things on the sidewalks that should really be cleaned up by the city. Fourth, the menu keeps evolving. Everything we had there was for the first time. All of it was perfect. Beautifully plated, served at the right temperature, fresh and well seasoned, delicious. Dre, our server, was all smiles and so efficient, she seemed to float around. She made the experience lively and fun. - Broken Compass Tiki…read more My girlfriend and I absolutely loved Broken Compass Tiki. I originally found it on TikTok, followed up with a few YouTube videos, and knew I had to check it out the next time we were in Burbank. It completely lived up to the hype. Parking can be a little challenging since it's in Burbank, but we got lucky and found a street parking spot nearby. If you don't get as lucky, driving around the block or into the surrounding neighborhood should eventually turn something up. We arrived about 20 minutes after they opened, and there were already several people inside. By the time we left, the place was filling up quickly, so it's definitely a popular spot. I surprised my girlfriend by keeping the destination a secret and just telling her we were going somewhere fun with a unique theme. She loved it. From the moment we walked in, the service was outstanding. Both the bartender and our server were incredibly welcoming. Our server asked whether it was our first visit and took the time to ask what kinds of drinks we normally enjoy before making recommendations. I really appreciated that he wasn't just trying to upsell us. Instead, he explained why he thought certain cocktails were better choices based on our preferences, and every recommendation ended up being spot on. As you'd expect from a tiki bar, the cocktail menu is heavily rum-focused, but there are also non-alcoholic drinks, a small beer selection, and wine available if rum isn't your thing. I ordered the Zombie Magic first, which was delicious and definitely packed a punch. After that, I tried the 100 Year Cigar, a Scotch-based cocktail that was perfect for slowly sipping. Both drinks were fantastic. My girlfriend ordered the Painkiller and the Navy Grog, and she loved both of them. We started with the Shut It Polly wings, crispy chicken wings tossed in a spicy Thai peanut sauce, and they were outstanding. We also ordered the Aloha Dippers with the Cajun seasoning. I paired mine with the Chipotle Citrus Aioli, while my girlfriend chose the Firecracker sauce. Both dipping sauces were excellent and complemented the fries really well. For our entrées, I ordered the Pub Burger with Irish cheddar, onion strings, and horseradish aioli, cooked to order. It was excellent. My girlfriend ordered the Shrimp & Lobster Roll, and we both enjoyed it. The only item that didn't quite meet our expectations was the macaroni salad that came with our meals. We've had some incredible macaroni salad at Hawaiian restaurants, and this one just didn't quite compare. It certainly wasn't bad, but it was the one part of the meal that didn't stand out. One thing that really impressed me was how accommodating the staff was regarding my raw fruit allergy. I explained what I could and couldn't safely eat or drink, and our server took it seriously. He made sure every cocktail recommendation was safe for me without sacrificing flavor or experience. That level of attention made me feel comfortable ordering drinks I otherwise might have avoided. The décor is also worth mentioning. The pirate-themed exterior transitions into a fun pirate-and-tiki atmosphere inside that really adds to the experience without feeling overdone. Overall, this place exceeded our expectations. The drinks were strong and creative, the food was excellent, the service was some of the best we've had in a long time, and the atmosphere was a blast. There are still plenty of cocktails on the menu that I'd like to try, so we'll definitely be back the next time we're in Burbank.

The servers brought out water dishes and treats on a silver tray for the dogs- true service! I missed happy hour, but tried a themed cocktail, the onion rings, and the truffle burger. It was all great! My friends and I enjoyed the atmosphere and the food and our server was great. It seemed like a lot of regulars were there, which helped contribute to the overall good vibes. That says a lot about the staff. Our server, she was a young lady, was on top of everything and really made our time here enjoyable. I came here for happy hour on a Tuesday was surprised to find out they do $2 tacos and $5 margaritas. Let me tell you, the tacos are delicious and the margaritas are STRONG. It's a hell of a good time. I really enjoyed the chicken taco and carne asada taco. The meats were juicy and very flavorful. I also ordered their nachos, chili cheese fries and bread pudding. The nachos were made perfectly with the chips being thin and crispy. They used a couple different cheeses and the jalapeños were a nice touch. Definitely ordering it again, I can do without the chili cheese fries. It was good but it wasn't amazing. Their bread pudding was HUGE and I can see why it's one of the popular items here. The bread was crispy on the outside and soft and gooey in the inside. Morrisons is definitely a fun place to be. Perfect to enjoy happy hour, catch the games on, and hang out friends. They have plenty of seating inside and outdoor with heat lamps. They are dog and kid friendly as well

Located inside Hotel Amarano (also a hidden gem), FYC (For Your Consideration) emits a classy ambience and a cozy vibe. This is a place where celebrities will come to dine because their privacy is respected. It's intimate enough for date night but also a perfect spot to catch up with friends. Of course, Te-See & I are always dressed to the nines regardless of where we go, but this time our fashionable wardrobe was the perfect attire for this chic lounge. Libby (director of sales & marketing) even came over to tell us how fabulous we both looked. We had an enjoyable conversation with her, and she told us many wonderful things about Hotel Amarano. I'll definitely recommend it to visitors and may even book a staycation for myself. Norm the bartender was friendly and attentive - engaging us with lively banter. I had the Bouquet of Roses - a refreshing combination of Kettle One Peach & Orange Blossom vodka, Lillet Rosé, Rosé wine, & peach purée. It was perfect for the summer evening. Te-See had the Spicy Passionfruit Paloma - minus the spicy. It was also very tasty. Anton also had the Paloma but spicy. I compared the two and liked the spicy version better. I had to leave before food was ordered but my friends said that the Shrimp Cocktail and Parmesan fries were delicious and ample enough to share. I really liked the vibe of this place and look forward to coming back. *Valet for the hotel or street parking.

We've been on the lookout for a new contender for a while and think we found one! Ordering was simple - go to their website (https://breadandbreakfastla.com), hit order now, select a location (Burbank or North Hollywood) and order to your heart's desire. We went up to the front and let them know the name we placed the order under and off we went. My wife and I opted to try their Bacon & Sausage Burrito and Veggie Burrito. Both had a hefty weight to them and were delicious. What added to the deliciousness was their house-made salsa and crema. If you love heat, their salsa is on point! Add the crema and you've been transported to another world. Staff was super nice and had our order ready when promised. Since this is in the same parking lot as Circus Liquor, we stopped in to grab some snacks and drinks for later too. Great all around!

Will be back to try the other spots, Taking off one star because it would be nice if they had some sort of seating outside. I suggest ordering beforehand to pick up, We waited about 20 minutes for our order. They are very busy with delivery orders Around 12:30 on a Saturday. Still amazing burritos, fresh, and SUPER tasty.
