Let me start by saying that those of you who know me, I am an occasional drinker. I do like cocktails every now and then. One of my favorites are Margaritas, Martinis, Wine & Beer. Depending on my mood and who do I decide to go with. I have been to this quaint, romantic, OyBar twice before like 15 years ago. Once with a date, and another time with a friend. Both times had a marvelous time. The place is nicely dim, clean, and the service is impeccable in every way. They do have live music playing after 8pm. They are known for their Oysters and OY Burgers. Established 1972. Before I forget.. A friend of mine and myself decided to go to OY on Wednesday an hour after they opened. It was already happening. There were a lot of people at the bar and some were already on their 3rd drink. My friend and I ordered Margaritas and couple of appetizers to share. Quesadillas stole the show. She got Margaritas (2) on the rocks and I got a blended Coconut Margarita. Drinks tasted FABULOUS along with our appetizers. Super friendly, nice staff and that's all I can say about this particular visit. We will save some for my other visit, whenever that will be. Few parking spaces & gender neutral restrooms. Thank you staff at OYBar. You guys are lovely in every way!! It is literally so close to my house. In a way.. thank God, I am NOT tempted to go there more often. One drink might lead to another & then I have to find someone to carry me home..

Fun place, funky atmos, with good vibes, drinks and food. You can get small plates and try everything. It can get crowded so go earlier than you want ot sit. Service is also good. Dark space, but the back has some outer seating. Cheers and enjoy!

Been here a few times and most of the time it's great! I love their burger it's one of the best in town but it can be inconsistent depending on when you go, luckily this last time I went it was delicious. The hotdog was also good but it's actually on the smaller side than you'd think it can be good for sharing. The carrot cake was interesting I haven't seen a carrot cake have this density or texture but it was pretty good. The drinks are also great bartender Darren made them amazing. It's a good date spot as well. Def worth checking out.

Would come back 100%!!!! We got lucky with seating with our group of 4 at peak dinner hour. It gives off dive bar vibes but with exceptional food on the menu. Top favorites of the night were the oy burger, spicy noodz, and another dish that I couldn't remember the name of (also not on their online menu). Avoid the bread pudding as it did not taste like one.

I live down the street from Oy Bar, and I used to come here when it was the Oyster Bar. I finally dropped in to check it out. It's very happening at Oy. Lots of people, lots of good food, lots of cocktails. Ambience is chic. I really enjoyed the matzo ball ramen and wish they would bring it back soon. Cocktails are amazing! Service is lovely but a little slow because of the intensity of the crowd. Oy Bar is a little pricey for my taste, but given the fact that I've already gone back, it must not be too much!

I think this was the biggest reminder ever that I'm in my 40s - the music is so damn loud that I couldn't hear the person across the table. But, that's the only complaint. And it is a bar. (But turn it down, youngsters!) Food is very good. We had the artichokes which are very unique and very good. Perfect amount of oil. Also had the spicy noods with shrimp. Not spicy - just flavorful. Deceivingly large portions. Service is great also. I also wrote them ahead of time because I have limited mobility and was worried about not being able to stand in line and can't do a barstool and they were lovely and helped make sure I got a table.

Everything about this meal was incredible and flavor packed! My only regret was not ordering MORE. The restaurant is very dimly lit and gives intimidate but fun and cozy vibes. The waitstaff are all very helpful with ordering and good came out quickly. I can't wait to return to try more menu items! If i had to pick, i'd say the quesadilla was my favorite.

Walked into this place & found a diamond in the rough The food was cooked to perfection, drinks were nicely mixed to pair with the food. Services was quick, attentive and friendly. The bar was dimly lit with reasonable ambient noise.

OY Bar is one of those rare hidden gems you'd never just stumble upon, from the outside, it's unassuming to say the least but you better buckle up. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming, and then the food hits... and it's next-level. You'd never guess the chef in the back is putting out some of the best dishes you'll find in the valley, but he absolutely is. Honestly, I don't even know how to describe everything we had tonight except to say this: I wouldn't change a single thing. Everything was perfectly executed, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. Shoutout to David behind the bar, his drinks are killer, and he's genuinely friendly and fun to talk to. Jeff, who I believe is the head chef and possibly the owner, is just as great, super welcoming and clearly passionate about the experience he's creating. Also, don't hesitate to dine at the bar. The people there are cool, the energy is great, and it's the perfect way to soak in the whole vibe. If you're thinking about checking them out, do it. You won't regret it.

A hidden gem in Studio City! My friend and I walked in and were immediately impressed by the snazzy ambience and friendly staff. We ordered some lovely cocktails and got a few rounds of bites. I definitely recommend this spot for your next date night.

    Ask the Community - OyBar

    Do they deliver?

OyBar has a very small kitchen and is really not set up to do to-go orders of any kind as this would detract from our ability to take care of our in-person guests. For the same reason, we do not deliver. Please come in and visit us here!!

Are kids welcome? And can you fit parties of 6?

No kids. Think they can do groups of 6 though; there's space.

    Do they have outdoor seating?

Yes! We have a few tables out front right now and may be adding more soon.

What do they have Gluten free? I'm not going there to ask server to find out there's nothing I like that I can eat.

The menu says: "Some of our food offerings are or can be made vegan, vegetarian, gluten or dairy-free. Please ask your server."

I remembered seeing Wood & Water across the street from the Le Petit French restaurant we'd eaten at several years ago, and again while driving on Ventura Boulevard in Sherman Oaks. So, I made the reservation via the Resy dining app and effortlessly secured an early dinner. Although valet service was available, we were lucky to snag an open street parking stall. Upon entering the warm, fire-lit restaurant, the jovial host greeted us and checked us in. He led us into a relatively empty dining room past the beautiful full bar. Within minutes after being seated, it seemed like the host led in a "busload" of fellow Christmas Eve revelers. Our friendly server, Michael, welcomed us, asked if we had any questions about the menus or food allergies, and then took our beverage order. After ordering cocktails and appetizers, we discussed our potential menu selections, perused their wine list, and ordered a bottle of Sangiovese. Michael was excellent about coursing our menu selections. FOOD: -Yellowtail & Watermelon Sashimi: Chili oil, Serrano, ponzu, yuzu onion. It seems that creative preparations of yellowtail or amberjack tuna sashimi are trending in LA restaurants. Wood & Water's combination of buttery yellowtail slices, tender sweet watermelon, spicy Serrano pepper slices, with a drizzle of yuzu onion sauce caught our palates. I especially appreciated the textural aspects and freshness of this appetizer. $22 -Truffle Kennebec Fries: Black summer truffles and pecorino shavings garnished the freshly made, hot, and crisp fries. The massive bowl of shoestring fries caught my husband's and his brothers' attention as we sipped our cocktails. They agreed that W&W's shoestring fries were perfectly fried and seasoned. $19 -Roasted Duck Breast: Michael confirmed the duck breast's medium-rare doneness would be okay, or if I wanted the duck breast to lean more towards rare or more fully cooked. Honestly, I'm pleased with medium-rare doneness, and that's exactly what I received. The deliciously roasted duck breast was plated atop a generous serving of wild mushroom risotto and enhanced with in-house brandied cherries. I was drawn to this dish because I like the pairing of roast duck with a fruit sauce. Although I was drawn to pistachio-crusted lamb chops, I planned to have lamb for dinner the following day. The duck breast had evenly browned, crispy skin, and its meat was tender and succulent. The in-house brandied cherries added a deep fruit flavor, which was enhanced by the warm brandy, along with subtle notes of vanilla and spices. $48 -Pork Chop: Asian Marinade, whole grain Dijon mustard mashed potatoes, quick pickled purple cabbage, and chimichurri. My husband and brother-in-law ordered this dish and were surprised by the thick 1-1/2" pork chop. They didn't think the combination of an Asian marinade would complement the other garnishes (quick-pickled purple cabbage and chimichurri). Still, apparently, after wolfing down the soft, tender, and succulent pork chop, they were proud to admit their "clean plate club membership." $44 -Pistachio-Crusted Lamb Chops: Six tender pistachio-crusted lamb chops were plated atop whipped eggplant with roasted/charred heirloom carrots. My eldest brother-in-law ordered this dish and let me sample a piece of the lamb chop. The pistachio-crusted lamb tasted luxurious and nutty, with flavor-enhancing herbs that created a pleasant savoriness. The roasted/charred heirloom carrots brought along their natural sweetness and a touch of herbaceousness from their seasonings. $62 -Peanut Butter Chocolate Turnover: Although we were all content with our meals and drinks, we were tempted to satiate our "sweet tooth." The peanut butter chocolate turnover appealed to our foursome, who wanted to share. The dessert was served warm, with the turnover's crust light and flaky, and a hot, ooey-gooey peanut butter and melted chocolate interior. The premium vanilla ice cream added an icy, creamy contrast and neutralized or mellowed the flavors of peanut butter and chocolate. $16 We're not residents, but after this dinner, my brothers-in-law and I left wondering why we hadn't tried this restaurant sooner. We'd happily return to try more of their signature cocktails and entrees for flavors, textures, presentation, and value. The service was excellent despite the huge Christmas Eve rush and crowd.

To add to our frustrations, they forgot our tostada Chiquita, which was later brought out with our main dishes.
