late night decided to take my girl out just to have a chill vibe. It's pretty close to the house so we decided to go ahead and try it out. When we walked in, we had our ID checked by the security that was sitting in the front. I was feeling a little sick so I asked the barmen if it was possible for him to make hot toddy he definitely made it happen and it tasted pretty good. The atmosphere is very relaxed. They have a few games , pool table and karaoke nights. additional games available in the back almost like a private back patio.! They also have food pop-ups and we were told that their pizza pop-up is delicious so we will definitely come back to try it out

Came to the Happy Rabbit with friends to celebrate one of our friends who was going to Europe and won't be back for 3 months. She frequents the place and has told us so many fun things about it that we were excited to go, and it did not disappoint! Apparently they do karaoke on multiple days of the week, and boy there are so many people who sing so well there! We had SO much fun! The bartenders are very friendly and the drinks they make taste great, I really loved the Pineapple Margarita! In addition they have an area outside where food trucks or carts will park and offer food. I truly enjoyed the Fried Zucchini from whichever truck was there and I'm sorry that I did not catch the name of the food truck because I was so tipsy and little did I know, I was having appendicitis so I was not really walking around allot, I just thought I had a pulled achy muscle in my side but by the next day I would end up in the ER (LOL), but if you are reading this, I LOVE your Fried Zucchini!!!! Other great things is everyone that was in the place was friendly and smiling, there are many TVs all around so you can follow along with the lyrics no matter which direction you are facing, and if you need to use the Bathroom, the bathrooms are clean and spacious! I definitely will be back in the future to enjoy more Karaoke and maybe even play some of the games such as the Trivia night, or Pool on their pool table, and Darts!!!

Happy Rabbit is a hopping good time. This local neighborhood bar & lounge has quite a lot with a front and back patio, comfy couches, bar seating, pool table/billiards, darts, jukebox and more. The bartenders are friendly and cool. Extensive signature cocktails. Cool mocktails. Craft beer as well as imported and domestic. Solid wine options (with a great Wine Wednesday special) and of course your classic non-alcoholic essentials (soda, juice, etc.) They have a great digital jukebox, but typically have a great variety of music playing. Happy Rabbit pulls out a few cool themed nights from it's hat including poker nights, karaoke nights, trivia night and sporting events (ufc, baseball, basketball, you name it) often. The flat screens are abundant and you can enjoy whatever is playing for just about every angle of the bar, including their huge projector. Surrounded by cool art and well placed mild minimalist decor. Happy Hour is daily from 4pm to 8pm, with a late night happy hour or extended special with the purchase of food via outdoor vendors like Burger Bash - Smash Burgers or $5 Margarita Mondays (until 9pm). The bar itself doesn't carry food, but they partner up with local businesses via food trucks, carts, pop-ups and stands weekly. It's nice to see this space thrive (formerly Elevate Bar) in a big way, especially being my just around the corner cocktail bar. Bathrooms are clean as can be. Patio has patio games, plus some seating. Parking is easy on the street and local residential area as well as in back through the alley that you can access from Magnolia Blvd or Weddington Street from Van Nuys Blvd. Come check out the magic at the H. Rabbit!

We came here after a bite to eat. The bartender Thomas was super cool. We watched UFC in sat at the bar. They have all types of seats, tv's games and karaoke. The vibe is super chill, i just didnt like the prices for the drinks but my night was super cool.

If you're looking for a place that checks all the boxes -- great drinks, solid vibe, fun events and friendly staff -- Happy Rabbit Bar & Lounge absolutely delivered. My friends and I dropped by one day and left already planning our next trip back. Here's why: The Drinks & vibe The cocktail menu is creative without being pretentious. They offer classic takes with clever twists -- and house buttons that are clearly crafted with care and personality. The "Smashers Burger" food truck out front is a great complement: juicy, satisfying, and perfect for pairing with one of their house cocktails. The Atmosphere: From the moment we walked in we felt welcomed. The front patio gives a nice open-air option, and the interior is comfortable but lively enough to feel special. Whether you're catching a game, doing karaoke or just grabbing drinks with friends, the place strikes a sweet balance between cool and casual. Events & Extras: They host all kinds of fun -- karaoke, trivia, open mic, speed dating nights, themed events -- which means every visit could feel a little different. We happened to catch a drink and played some games one night and had a blast with my wife and friends. Also, the happy hour specials are strong (house cocktails and wines at reduced rates, burger specials with a drink purchase) -- nice value in the Valley. Service & Overall Feel: The staff were prompt, friendly and seemed genuinely into making the experience good. We had Thomas at the bar giving solid recommendations, and none of that rushed or indifferent "I'll be with you when I'm ready" vibe you sometimes get elsewhere. It felt like a local spot people are proud of -- exactly what you hope for when you find a new favorite. Final Thoughts: Whether you're just after a quality after-work cocktail, a lively Saturday night with friends, or somewhere to catch your team and sing karaoke later, Happy Rabbit delivers. We had zero complaints, a lot of laughs, and left feeling like we found a new "go-to" bar in Sherman Oaks. Highly recommend -- 5 stars without hesitation.

Loved the bartender Thomas, and the cool laid back vibe of this place. Also, a wonderful happy hour. God save real happy hours! Nice folks hanging out as well.

What a great find! Was visiting a store nearby and discovered this little gem in Sherman Oaks. For the price, five stars and definitely recommended. This bar has gone through multiple iterations, but I think I'd like this one the absolute best. Friendly staff, pool table, TVs and screens EVERYWHERE so it was a great place to watch the Lakers get their asses kicked by the Bucks. The happy hour cocktail prices are incredible and they have different activities and specials every night of the week including karaoke, open mic, trivia, etc. They don't have food on site per se, but there's a Smashburger truck and sushi place next-door. The decor is great because they have nice couches as well as plenty of tables. I was surprised at how clean the place was. Definitely going to bring my wife here. My margarita was great and I intend to try some of the other cocktails as well. If you're looking for a local Sherman Oaks dive bar that's clean, and expensive and approachable, this is your place. Will return regularly.

I had to get use to sipping my margarita like a civilized person, rather than gulping it down. We started with the queso fundido. Too bad it cools so quickly and is so thick. It had a trio of salsas on top. And the chips are excellent. They brought us plenty of refills on chips. We ordered the salsa sampler. Three different salsas in tiny ramekins. All tasty, but usually Mexican restaurants give you salsa and chips for free. We had to spend $18. I had a chile rellano unlike any I have had before. A lot of black beans, a blistered chile and some cojita cheese sprinkled on top. I am used to a chile rellano filled with cheese. It was just okay. My husband had the carne aside. Basically a steak and roasted potatoes. Nice steak, but nothing Mexican about it. The potatoes were ordinary. Our guest ordered AGUACHILE DE CHAYOTE squash, pineapple aguachile, cilantro macho. She wanted a vegetarian option. This was a cold soup. She had no idea what she was getting. I guess we should have asked. All in all the menu is confusing. I have eaten Mexican food throughout LA and travelled extensively in Mexico, and this was all very new to me. They did tell us at the beginning that things were good to share. This would have been a good sharing dish with the chips. It was very unusual. The dessert flan was very tasty with pecans and a crispy churro like garish. We would have like a little more explanation on the menu of what we were ordering. Every item is unexpected and out of the ordinary. Daisy is a good place to go for a taste adventure, good margaritas and a hefty bill.

Lovely spot for Mexican food with fun vibes!…read more I came for Sunday brunch/lunch with some friends. I made a reservation through Yelp a couple days beforehand and there was plenty of availability. The restaurant is located right off Ventura Blvd and has an attached parking garage in the basement which can be accessed via the parking lot behind the restaurant. There were plenty of spots available Sunday afternoon when I came. It's a bit hidden, but there is an elevator from the garage to the top level where the restaurant is located as well. We had two babies in strollers with us, so I requested a table with plenty of space nearby for the strollers. They seated us outside on their covered patio, and indeed, we had plenty of space. I peeked inside and there's also a nice lounge area with a beautiful flower wall as well as a proper dining area. When we arrived, there was a live DJ spinning tunes. I assume he's there during brunch hours, as he left around 3 pm when brunch ended. I started with a frozen lime margarita ($12). It was okay; it felt like it was only half frozen as the ice wasn't blended that well. For my main, I got the famous Anejo carne asada and shrimp plate for $40. Yes it was pricy, but the portion size was also huge! I was starving and somehow managed to finish the plate, but it'd be a great dish to share for two people with small appetites. I really enjoyed it as well. I asked for the steak to be cooked rare, and they didn't overcook it. Each bite was super tender and flavorful and paired well with the rice. Everyone else also enjoyed their dish. One friend got the wet chicken burrito for $15 and it was massive! Another got the veggie fajitas with steak added and really enjoyed her dish as well. Solid food all around. I would love to come back on a weekday and try their happy hour! Sipping on $5 margaritas and $6 sangrias sounds like my idea of a great time!

Sherman Oaks is gritty and the section of Ventura Boulevard that houses TLP is almost brutalist in its anti-establishment aesthetic. You would never know it was here if you didn't either live in the neighborhood or seek it out as I did. It is sandwiched between a completely non-descript place that I didn't even look at and a crystals shop with grafitti-etched windows (unfortunately!) but some really cool beads. Inside is the same -- no frills, a dress-down and survive-if-you-dare vibe. My pictures will illustrate what I mean. Nevertheless, the friendly service (shout out to our server, Patrick), the menu, and the quality of the food are well worth it. Again, see what we ordered in the photos attached. Everything was delicious. The floor, tables, and chairs were all clean. There is some kind of post-apocalypse rhumba going on with the ceiling treatment. It is almost reverse-logic art with all the shading (stains? velour movement?) and utilitarian installation it reveals. Love the walls though, and the worn distressed wood everywhere (see the pix, folks). A bonus was watching the Masters (Patrick let us linger) and sitting by a giant window that was open to the street. Parking is up a block or so on either side. We always find safe spots in Sherman Oaks. The music seemed to be one CD of an unknown (to me) vocal artist and was pleasant. The crowd was friendly and the whole atmosphere was like one big homey grunge party. You know those mornings you fall out of bed and almost don't want to change out of your pajamas or yoga threds? This is the place to go. I loved it. (NOTE: You may have to refresh this page twice to see my pictures, for some reason. grrrrrr)

I made a reservation for Easter Brunch through OpenTable for me and my son. We got there about five minutes before our reservation at noon and the hostess told us to wait outside until they were open. Not a problem. HOWEVER, she never came back out to get us once they were open which was my first red flag because she left us waiting about 10 minutes past our reservation time. I go back inside to ask if we were going to be seated for our reservation and she asks under what name...mind you I was there before opening so she already had my name and time for reservation before no one else was there yet. The food itself was great but our service was absolutely terrible. We weren't checked on throughout the meal (again the restaurant was NOT crowded) and after completing our meal I realized the hostess deleted my reservation. For those who use OpenTable you know you get points for every completed reservation. I reached out privately to management first about my overall experience to hopefully rectify the issue. I wasn't looking for any incentives but that they at least train their wait staff better and resubmit my reservation in the system so I could both redeem my points and leave a review. It never happened. In an economy where everything is expensive just stepping outside I really value good service as well as good food. If the food is great but service is terrible I will never go back and this is that spot. Discrimination shows up in different ways and I will not patronize a business who blatantly does not show all of their customers the same level of respect and service. Posted pictures so you know I'm not a hater...food was great. Service was absolutely not it lol.

There's music that's lively without being overbearing, and the staff is uniformly friendly. But... You have to order at the bar and, though they have runners to bring your food, you do have to hunt them down for anything after the delivery (extra ketchup, etc). While this isn't my favorite system at my age, to be fair, whatever the owners are saving on staff is reflected in the prices, which are absolutely below most places in the area for food that is good-quality and drinks that are generously poured. So yes, my wife's Espresso Martini was served in a deep-bellied Belgium beer glass, and my whiskey neat was a hefty pour. Yay!! For food, I ordered the Smash Burger, which is served with melted American, grilled onions and the house version of Russian dressing (as well as pickles, which I deleted). The burgers had a nice, smashed crust while remaining juicy, the cheese was properly melted, and the grilled onions had a terrific caramelized sweetness, while the house sauce was very well-balanced: ketchupy and creamy without being too mayonnaise-heavy. A very good smasher. My wife ordered the Big Texan Burger because she wanted cheddar and frizzled onions and BBQ sauce, though she deleted the bacon and pork belly that are normally included. This, too, was a very good burger: cooked to a proper and pleasing medium-rare and well-seasoned, with a good, fresh flavor to the beef. The onion rings were less successful, which are of the beer batter type, but seemed to be a commercial, frozen product. The coating was browned but not crisp, and the flavor was relatively nondescript. We didn't really eat them, and wouldn't order them again. And so, to me, The Tipsy Cow is a bit of a mixed bag: reasonably priced decent food and reasonably priced, generously-poured drinks -- but in a mostly self-serve environment that incrementally loses its appeal in relation to your age and your dining circumstances. Certainly worth a try, but you've gotta be in the right mood.
