    Darts!

I love this bar, I love the owner of this bar and everyone that works together, and I love all the regulars here and have so many memories at this location. I started coming here for drinks after my shifts at Galpin Honda at the time, and have been coming back since to play songs on the TouchTunes jukebox, cheap drinks, and their electronic darts machine that I have not seen anywhere else and I go to a lot of bars. See you there for a game of darts - Julio

I've been to the Scene twice already and it's a cool local dive bar honestly. The crowd has been fun. They have a juke box for music. I went on a Friday and I met fun people there. Seems like most are locals and regulars. They have this cool ceiling filled with money. Check it out if you're around the area. I left at 2am when it closed and a lot of people were also just leaving. I will keep coming back.

Cool old school sports bar. Loved the history of this spot, authentic and a great chill bar. Interior decor is cinematic, Tarantino-esque. Service is great. Great spot for an afternoon cooler. Place also has complimentary popcorn. Cool spot!

Yelp has seldom failed to recommend great dive bars to me. The Scene is no exception. Adele is one of the greatest bartenders I've had the pleasure of being served Coors y Cazadores by. If you ever find yourself in Hollywood, hit up The Scene. Great bar, great people and great Adele!

(Drank 10/17/21 SU @ 11:30am): How have I never seen or heard of this place before even after I lived in North Hollywood for several years!? Thanks to Groupon, I found out about The Scene and decided to make a scene during some early NFL Sunday games https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=BjmqGHBMTzU8WX1ISGMkJw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw. I LOVED dive bars, so how this place was completely off my radar especially since I lived nearby years ago was completely odd to me. Now that I finally "found" this place, would I be a regular "diver"!? PURCHASE Goose Island Brewing Co. SERVICE Greeted by Amber the friendly bartender, she first asked for proof of my COVID-19 vaccination since that was the mandate during this time. Once that was done, it was time to get my groove on, chat her up, she gave me the rundown of the place, and the drinks were soon flowing. Maybe she mentioned something, but out of the blue a gigantic pepperoni pizza appeared and was FREE for everyone in the bar... so of course I had a couple slices https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=2vRcVvyzQ1IJJXiwPufr7w&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw! Amber was the bomb... and next time I needed to try that "wet pussy" cocktail she made for another patron. PARKING (FREE) Located within a western-style saloon strip mall, they shared a medium parking lot with several businesses. Otherwise, there was plenty of parking along the main drag of Saticoy St. - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A cozy somewhat seedy dive bar by every known definition as the regulars (I saw only men), slowly rolled in, there was a tawdry display of bras on the wall https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=1EcKHwBa0e8znrdzKxNuaA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw, random sexualized paintings https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=QfaEVBwUa-PrZyKolL0_pg&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw, random movie pictures https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=ytiu8m3j-7gqF-SbRwS_Xw&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw, dollar bills hung from the ceiling and walls https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=mIwoi2TM5nrkIMfDFPVhyA&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw, and much more! Plenty of tall stools along the walls as well as at the bar. Zero natural lighting while dimly-lit electric lanterns and the glow from the many TVs guided your way. There were several TVs throughout although I didn't recall any background music played in the background. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=n80jVfqB00wAeeKjb7YiRQ&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL The Scene was all that and a bag of chips (two bags in my case!) and definitely planned to return hopefully with friends. From inexpensive prices, stiff-enough drinks, decent alcohol selection, FREE food, random friendly strangers, etc., this place was divey awesomeness! They also opened early and closed late https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=JPiww6rUaR61nVXkrmdx_Q&userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw, allowed outside food, and held special promotional events. I found complete value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $21.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 5.0 STARS

Had to make a reservation for 4 people for the Rams-Bears game, and we were sat right in the middle tables near the back, almost touching (and frequently bumped by other patrons) nearby, instead of the more spacious lounge-type 4 seaters that I wanted. The area is deafeningly noisy, stuffy, No A/C. As if a sports bar isn't loud enough, they have a DJ for what reason I don't know blasting music at every opportunity during timeouts and between games...yikes. Super packed inside, but outside seating is very bare and only 1 crappy TV in the corner. Absolute pandemonium inside, dogs, kids everywhere. Love both but just a bizarre scene. Food was passable, nothing more. The asada nachos we were told had beans but didnt come with it, and had a weird liquid white cheese melted and not enough of it to smother the chips. Very expensive too almost 30 bucks! Barely any pico, no guac. Wings are so-so meaty and hot but boring not seasoned. The garlic parm fries are not bad but a pool of oil on the bottom of the basket. The burger seemed to be the best item, I ate a chicken sandwich (fried) it was plain and boring as hell, but not bad. We couldn't make it past halftime it was just so insanely loud and uncomfortable from rubbing seats behind me, can't move vertically. Parking lot completely sold out sharing with the golf course, had to park a few hundred feet away in another small lot, and the icing on the cake as we left some weirdo woman approached the window startling us and asking for money handing out something. Bolted the fuck out, counted our blessings and...see you next lifetime. Did not feel safe walking back to the far-out lot, and another homeless person actually entered the bar and was walking around, barely holding it together to not show his genitals. There was a security guard near entrance, I guess the homeless man parachuted in cuz he got past him. Good grief.

Another bonus is allmost all of the machines are only .50 to play (the Jersey Jack machines though are .75) and give out free games on matches fairly often. The replay by score, though, is often really high (but most likely that is because most that come here are fairly good players). The modern Stern machines are also connected as well if you have your QR code and they post high scores on the TV on the wall. In the front of the resturant is another 10 or so machines as well (but it gets loud there as it is the waiting area for people that will be getting KBBQ). I haven't actually drank or ate here yet. It takes place mostly in their rear patio area and parking lot, but a good number of vendors were also in an adjacent air conditioned event room. They have a very small parking lot, but it was occupied by vendors during this event. Do not park in the parking lots of the adjacent businesses, as we were warned when entering the Tonga Hut that cars get towed regularly. There's plenty of street parking in the nearby neighborhood. Entering from the rear, there is a good sized covered patio with around eight benches. We went inside to check it out and grab a drink. The interior is fairly small with four good sized booths, a lounge area with a large J-shaped couch with several small tables, and around ten seats at the bar. It is dimly lit with some basic tiki décor, and has an old-school feel. They had a fixed cocktail menu for this event which is understandable. We stood in line at the bar for about ten minutes, got our drinks and went out to the patio. The bartender was friendly, and didn't seem flustered by the high volume of patrons. I had the Horned Beast O' The Celtic Sea (Oceanus Hibernicus Irish Malt, Jamacian Rum, House Made Falernum & Orgeat, Peach, Citrus, Dash of Cherry Heering, $13). She had the Leprechaun Grog (Three Rums, Lime, Grapefruit, Honey, Spice, Soda, $14). Both drinks were good, were served in souvenir plastic cups, and were a bargain at $13 to $14. If you ordered a drink containing Oceanus whiskey, the bartender gave you a gold coin and you could exchange it with the Oceanus representative on the patio for a free T-shirt. Durango Tacos was setup near the rear entrance for food. We had four tacos (two carne asada and two veggie), and they were good and reasonably priced. This was the first tiki marketplace we have attended. There were around twenty vendors with a good assortment of art work, tiki mugs, tiki clothing, tiki décor, and other miscellaneous items. I purchased a few nice tiki shirts which were a steal at $20 and $25. The vendors and visitors were all very friendly and in a festive mood. We hung out for about ninety minutes and had a good time. We will return at some point to try their regular cocktail menu and see what it's like on a non-event night.

Tonga hut is my favorite local tiki bar, but it is such a hit or miss when I go!…read more On a weekend, you could easily walk in with no problem or be hit with a one-hour wait. Sometimes they have servers, other times you order at the bar. The last time I went, there was a long line as only one bartender was making drinks, yikes! Despite that, the drinks are solid, reasonably priced, and strong! They have a variety of drinks and nightly specials. Each bartender also has their own "secret menu" specials that only they can make. The decor is very on theme, and they have a fire pit and heaters outside for when it is chilly.
